Is the Obama hit squad out?

Hillary Clinton’s name will be placed in nomination at the DNC and she will receive votes. This is a pretty gutsy move by Barack Obama since he does not have the number of delegates needed for an outright win and Super Delegates can vote for whomever they want. One Democrat indicates that as many as half the members of the House may vote for Hillary:

Rep. Loretta Sanchez says she’s happy for the chance to vote for Hillary Rodham Clinton at the Democratic National Convention — and she predicts that as many as half of the Democrats in the House could join her. Politico

Barry has been having a rough month, one that has Hillary and Bill silently laughing. The Democrats are worried that they might have made the wrong choice in candidates and the nagging issue of Hillary supporters has them nervous. Has Obama sent out the hit squad to ensure that Clinton supporters are not able to vote at the convention?

Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California has broken her ankle and will skip next week’s Democratic National Convention.

Feinstein, who was one of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s top supporters, was to have chaired California’s delegation to the convention in Denver. Breitbart

Maybe the Obama hit squad is out ensuring that Hillary supporters are unable to attend the convention. These “accidents” sure appear to be Chicago style politics. Barry has bumped off his competition before so it is not out of the question that he would do it again.

Maybe this is what he meant when he stated that McCain does not know what he is up against…

Big Dog

PAC Man Obama and the DNC

Anyone who has been following the Democratic Primary knows that Barack Obama claims that he does not accept money from lobbyists and special interests. This is, of course, a fabrication or a stretching of the truth (rather Clintonesque) because he does in fact take their money though not necessarily directly. When Obama became the presumptive nominee he directed Howard Dean to stop taking special interest money in order for the DNC to be aligned with Obama’s so called beliefs.

I received an email from Howard Dean telling me of the major policy change:

As we move toward the general election, the Democratic Party has to be the Party of ordinary Americans, not Washington lobbyists and special interests. So, as of this morning, if you’re a federal lobbyist, or if you control political action committee donations, we won’t be accepting your contribution.

This is an unprecedented move for a political party to make — one that has sent shockwaves through Washington and has turned the debate on clean campaigns upside down. We’ve unilaterally agreed to shut lobbyists out of the process, and are we’re relying on people just like you.

Just imagine what hundreds of thousands of Americans donating $20, $30, or $50 at a time can accomplish together. Imagine the signal that it sends to anyone who looks at John McCain’s political machine and the special interest money it needs to fuel every move it makes. [DNC Email]

First of all the only shock waves this is sending is to people who do not believe for one moment that this is true. They intend to continue taking special interest money but they will do so in a more clandestine manner just as the Obamessiah does:

Obama’s ban on lobbyists money is not ironclad. He does accept money from lobbyists who do not do business with the federal government and he also accepts money from spouses and family members of lobbyists. He has had unpaid advisers with federal lobbying clients, and some campaign officials also previously had lobbying jobs. Yahoo News

The DNC email indicates that this is a new direction and that it is important for them to be the party of ordinary Americans. They are basically telling people that for years they have not been the party of ordinary Americans but they are now simply because they stopped **wink, wink** taking special interest money. Obama is using his pretend ban on such money to advance a cause that he is a DC outsider and the DNC is now trying to capitalize on this by saying they are the good ones but the evil Republicans will still have their bad lobbyist money to make attacks on the Obamessiah. The plea from the Obama camp came out nearly immediately but it neglected to tell the whole truth. Todd Warner Huston, blogging at Stop the ACLU, responded to the following from the DNC:

“We need to respond quickly and show that we are ready to take on Senator McCain in the general election,” Plouffe wrote. “We are going to compete in the general election the same way we have all along_by depending on a movement of more than 1.5 million people giving only what they can afford.”

Obama smoking

I have never believed this prattle about PAC money, lobbyist money and any of the rest of the ‘Obama is better because [fill in the blank].’ When it comes to politics Barack Hussein Obama is as dirty and smarmy as the rest of them. He aligned himself with people like Wright, Rezko, and Pfleger in Chicago in order to develop Chicago political creds. Obama is a dirty Chicago politician (which is redundant) and he will do anything to win. Barack Hussein Obama knows how to play dirty politics and has demonstrated that in his campaigns within the state of Illinois with some of the things he did to get rid of others who were running against him. Is there any wonder as to why Obama put a hold on an FEC nominee? Without a quorum they cannot investigate election fraud and a nominee with a hold cannot be approved. The hold has been lifted (after someone discovered Obama did it) but the Senate seems to be doing Obama’s bidding by not confirming FEC members prior to the November election. Keep this in mind should Democrats start whining like children about voter fraud. If they cannot get it investigated it will be their own faults (I imagine they don’t care because they expect to win big time but Hillary had the same attitude and look what happened to her)

One only needs to realize that Barack Hussein Obama beat Hillary Rodham Clinton and the Clinton machine. No rookie could ever accomplish such a task. No outsider could have beaten them at their own game. No, this took someone with political savvy, the kind that is developed in the dirty, unethical, and corrupt Chicago political system. Barack Obama learned well and he is putting it to use. To top it off, he is so good when giving a speech he is able to suck people in without any substance. They believe him when he says he does not take special interest money and they believe him and the DNC when they swear McCain will have big special interest money backing him (so please give now to fight them off!!!).

Obama is the darling of organized labor. The teacher’s unions will flock to him because he is a Democrat and he makes the usual promises about giving away money to teachers and improving education (something that no one has done yet and an attitude responsible for the failure of the educational system). Obama will get tons of money from the unions and he will get tons of money from other special interest groups.

He and his minions will claim that this is OK because these are the right kinds of groups that government needs to be involved with and not the rich entities that flock to Republicans (see previous list). They will say it is for the children and that labor unions represent the working stiffs in this country (another lie) and that taking their money is necessary to help them. Obama will continue to take special interest money, hand over fist, up until election day. He will get away with taking it and denying it because those who follow him are not bright enough to get past the rhetoric and empty promises.

No matter what they want to say the DNC and Barack Obama take special interest money and they take lots of it. Obama has gotten quite a bit more than Republicans from some of the bogey man companies that are usually bashed as Republican friendly (like pharmaceuticals). He will continue to get a lot of money and smile while he is taking it.

I would like to know how much of his money comes from overseas and other illegal donors…

UPDATE: Dumb Looks Still Free has a great post with Obama’s early contributions, some from PACs and oil companies. When did he become a “new” politician?

DNC Has a Choice to Make

The DNC has been put in a terrible bind by the Democratic Politicians in Florida and Michigan who decided that they wanted to hold their primaries early. The DNC told these leaders that if they did so they would not be able to seat their delegates. The states moved their primaries and the candidates all agreed not to campaign in either state because of the DNC ruling. The DNC figured it could be heavy handed with its threats and that the states would back down. When the states did not back down the sanctions were imposed and it did not, at the time, seem like a big deal because Hillary Clinton was the candidate in waiting. Everyone assumed she would be the winner and that is why these states had early primaries, they wanted to have a say in the process.

The Republicans had a front runner in Rudy but took a more conservative approach and decided to strip half of the delegates from any state that went early. This approach has been seen as fair and has caused no real complaints on the Republican side. The Democrats, however, have a real mess on their hands. It did not start out this way. Everyone expected Hillary to win and she, along with the others, agreed that they would not participate in the states that went early and they were all fine with the decisions of the DNC. Then Hillary turned out not to be the winner. She was getting trounced by Obama and all of the sudden she decides that Florida and Michigan should count.

It always seemed to me that the DNC made the wrong decision from the start because they were so damned adamant about every vote counting in 2000 (even all their dead voters and people’s pets). The word disenfranchisement became part of the vocabulary of people who can’t spell DNC and it was the ugly Republicans who were keeping votes from counting. That all turned out to be a bunch of bunk but after all the caterwauling from the Democrats about every vote counting they would come up with something better than not counting every vote.

A lot of people in Florida and Michigan feel disenfranchised (now that they know what it means) and they are upset that their votes, so far do not count. The DNC feels that it has to at least give the appearance of being tough and having rules but they do not want to tick off people in two states they must have to win. What message will they send? Will they keep it so that no votes count and risk losing the states or will they allow some or all of the delegates to be seated thus telling people that while the DNC has rules it is OK to break them. Unless they stick to their original edict, one which all parties knew and agreed to, then they are waffling in favor of politics. How can we expect these people to run our country when they have no respect for rules, not even the ones they establish?

To the Democrats in Michigan and Florida, it was your party leaders who allowed this to happen. If you want to be mad be mad at them. Vote them out of office and replace them with people who can lead. As for being disenfranchised, that is what happens when you allow greed to top the rules. Your states were so greedy to make a difference that they broke the rules. Don’t worry, we in the Republican party would welcome you with open arms. We will count your votes. You Hillary supporters who think she got shafted, vote for our guy to show your party that you disapprove of their leadership. You Obama supporters who feel that he is getting screwed because he did not campaign in those states and therefore did not do well (to know him is to love him) vote for McCain just to show your party that you will not be taken for granted. We will not disenfranchise you like your party did.

The Democrats are working this out. They will bend the rules in some fashion to allow at least some of the delegates to be seated. This is contrary to the rules they established but they are trying to appease people. They are the party of appeasement and they have a candidate in the lead who will meet with unfriendly nations without precondition so that he can appease them. This is the DNC platform, appeasement and they are showing it with regard to Florida and Michigan.

They want to be everything to everybody and that is not leadership.

Obama’s Double Standard

Barry Obama is quite upset because the Republicans in Tennessee have used snippets of his wife in an ad. His wife Michell is seen making her statement about being proud of America for the first time in her adult life. On Good Morning America Michelle Obama was asked about it and Barry interjected (kind of lends itself to the Clinton supporters assertions that he is dismissive of women) and said that he is sure that Republicans would pour over every word he said and distort it but that his wife was off limits.

“I’ve been in public life for 20 years. I expect them to pore through everything that I’ve said, every utterance, every statement. And to paint it in the most undesirable light possible. That’s what they do.”

“But I do want to say this to the GOP. If they think that they’re going to try to make Michelle an issue in this campaign, they should be careful. Because that I find unacceptable,” he said.

Obama praised his wife’s patriotism and said that for Republicans “to try to distort or to play snippets of her remarks in ways that are unflattering to her I think is just low class … and especially for people who purport to be promoters of family values, who claim that they are protectors of the values and ideals and the decency of the American people to start attacking my wife in a political campaign I think is detestable.” ABC

Barry, your wife made it acceptable to address her comments when she made them. She injected herself into this contest and by making her remarks she opened herself to criticisms of those remarks. If you think that your wife will run around making comments with impunity simply because you find it unacceptable then you are out of your mind. Your people certainly made no bones about attacking things that former President Clinton said. In this contest he is a spouse. Your wife’s comments are as open to scrutiny as his are and she will not get away with saying things and not being held accountable because you find it unacceptable.

Let us address another issue. You claim that Republicans distort or play remarks in an unflattering way and yet you ignore the very acts committed by your party. Where were you when Howard Dean and the DNC aired an ad that took John McCain’s words about being in Iraq for 100 years totally out of context. Where were you when this ad gave the impression that McCain said we would be at war for 100 years when the entire context, which is known to everyone, is that we would have established bases like we do in Europe and Asia and that he was OK with that as long as our troops were not being injured or killed? Where were you when Howard Dean defended the ad as an accurate portrayal of what McCain said?

Where were you Barry, when the newspapers and on air media were distorting what John McCain said about Hamas to give legitimacy to your point of view? Where were you when they left out a portion of the answer tot he question to give the appearance of a different answer that more closely resembles your point of view.

I know where you were in both instances. You were right up there with your party repeating the lies and deliberately distorting the truth for political gain. You were heavily involved in the deception and deliberate manipulation of McCain’s words as recently as this past week. You Barry Hussein, are a hypocrite. You cry and complain about the tactics of your opponents and ignore your own use of those very tactics. You are not a new politician, you are a charlatan, a poser, a deceiver and a lying coward who lacks the courage or ability to find fault in your own game before pointing at others.

Your wife made the statements. They are not snippets and they are not edited. She said it plain as day and it is obvious to everyone what she meant. Live with that or put a muzzle on her but either way I don’t give a damn what you find unacceptable.

Is it racist for the pot to call the kettle black?

Democrats are not Good at Following Rules

Democrats in Florida and Michigan decided to hold their primary elections earlier than allowed by the DNC. Both states were informed well in advance of the election that they would not be able to seat delegates if they went ahead with the early voting and the states agreed. Now the Democratic race is tight and the prospect of a brokered convention looms large and is giving the Democratic Party heartburn. Of course, after the voting took place many Democrats cried that people were disenfranchised. If this is the case then they were disenfranchised by their party which is amazing since Democrats claim only Republicans do that to voters.

Howard Dean has tried to be tough on this issue and stated that they would not change the rules that everyone agreed to. Hillary is whining about the delegates (she won the token elections) and Obama’s folks are not happy with the idea of seating delegates in contests he did not compete in. However, the DNC is faced with the possibility of bloodshed at its convention and it wants to do anything to avoid that so the party is looking at alternatives including having another election. Major issues include how much will it cost and who will pay for it? Regardless, the indications are that there will be no “do over” if a number of conditions are not met.

Then again, it looks like the DNC might be forced into about anything. Fox News reported on television today that Florida was considering not including the Democratic candidate on the November ballot if its delegates are not seated. The Democrats know that they need to win Florida in order to win the White House and they do not want an open ballot that gives all the electoral votes to Republican John McCain.

It would appear that not only does Florida not know how to follow rules but now it is showing that it knows how to play dirty in order to get its way. If they had not brought this on themselves I would agree with the tactic but they decided that they wanted to have an impact on the primary and held their election early despite knowing what it would cost. I think they should abide by those rules. If the Democrats decide to have another election then the party should pay for it. Forcing the tax payers to foot the bill is unfair and a waste of money.

Having said that, I like this play by Florida because now it tightens the screws on Howard Dean and the DNC. They will have to seriously consider what Florida wants because that state is in a position to blackmail the party. If the delegates are not seated then Florida will not put the Democrat on the ballot. If Michigan decides to take the same path then the Democrats will not win the presidency.

Regardless of what happens, the infighting and posturing are great to watch and, I for one, pray that this thing keeps going right up until Denver so that they can destroy their party from within much the same way that party is doing to this country.
