DNC Disenfranchises Florida?

The DNC has voted to strip Florida of its delegates if the state keeps its current schedule for the primary. Florida has joined many states in trying to have the earliest primary and be the first state to have a say in the matter. Like the Democratic Party, the states don’t care about anything but being first, being the “one that matters.” The DNC has rules and these rules are being flaunted by Florida and other states as well.

I agree with the DNC because they have rules and there are consequences to breaking those rules. What amazes me is that the DNC did not reward Florida for breaking the rules. You see, the Democrats called it disenfranchisement when certain groups of people, like convicted felons, were not allowed to vote in 2000. They cried disenfranchisement when a lot of people who registered in more than one area or voted in another state were kept from voting. They cried disenfranchisement, a word many in Florida had never heard of, because George Bush won. There had to be a reason and that reason had to be unethical behavior and disenfranchisement, how else could Bush possibly win? Notice that when the Democrats won a bunch of seats in the last election no one was disenfranchised and there was no cheating? In 2000 the DNC wanted those people who were not eligible to vote to be counted. They wanted to allow those who had broken the rules (or did not follow them when voting with butterfly ballots) to be counted and they wanted them counted in a fashion that benefited the Democrats.

Now, of course, the DNC is going to punish Florida for not following the rules, a complete reversal from their position in 2000. Ironically, the DNC does not look at it as disenfranchisement because they say they have rules that need to be followed. I guess it depends upon whose ox is being Gored (pun intended).

Big Dog’s Opinion:
The primary season should have all states voting on the same day just as with a national election. Candidates would have to run their campaigns for that one day and it would allow people to have a much wider field from which to choose. Having primaries all over the calendar allows the strongest to wipe out others early on thus denying the people in the later states to vote for the person they might have supported. I also do not know what makes Iowa or New Hampshire so special as to be the first to vote. The primaries should be a national type election where all states vote on the same day and the candidates are decided on that one day. It would save time and money and give many more people the chance at winning.

Then again, doing things the smart way never was a strong point of politicians.

    BD,
I have already written to everyone of the Florida sen’s and repub’s. If they buckle on this, don’t expect a vote. Who does Queen Dean and the rest of the dimwits think they are to “PUNISH” anyone? They said both dim’s and repub’s will be punished??? How about other states don’t care who Iowa and New Hampshire wants? I know the DNC says this will bring down the whole government?? Why?? Because someone disagrees with them. So if Florida and who ever and who ever pick someone besides “Scary Hil”, “uninformed, can’t get my training wheels off” Obama or “when you rich like me slime sucker ambulance chaser” Edwards the government will fall a part??? Now some dim loon wants to throw Webb,”I cut off funds for the military while I left my son there hung out to dry”, in the mix in January, what in God’s name could be scarier than that??? We know the dim’s will never get a clue on anything, that’s right up there with algore’s brain being found running down a street screaming for it’s life.

Do you think maybe some of the sleeping part of America is going to start waking up soon? I doubt it. I have some friends that are in their 70,s and he is a LIB she is what he tells her to be. Control freak. It makes for a long Sunday afternoon. We were talking and I mention the nuts trying to figure out a way to charge us for breathing. She put her head down and mumbled well we have to pay for water and electric so it’s only fair to pay something?????????? I excused myself and decided it was time for me to hit the road. My mouth would have gotten me a big fix. So since there was an avenue for retreat I took it.

If I am not understanding the “rules” please let me know.
