What do we do now?

My wife recently lamented to me, “What can we do in the face of this obvious lawlessness?” My answer may surprise you. Let’s dig.

First, let’s list the ‘obvious lawlessness’:

1. Failure to secure the Southern US border, even though there are existing, passed laws in place to do just that.

2. Misappropriation of US military assets to disperse illegal aliens throughout the US. How is that a legitimate use of military assets? Who approved that massive spend?

3. Executive overreach of mask mandates and vaccine mandates, at every level. Some States may grant such powers to Governors in emergency conditions, but I fail to see such language in the Constitution.

4. Company overreach by making a vaccine under EUA (Emergency Use Authorization) a condition of employment. Note that the only ‘vaccine’ to get normal FDA approval is NOT available in the US. And there is specific language in the FDA EUA material that PROHIBITS using EUAs as a condition of employment.

5. Blatant legal abuse of the January 6th ‘protesters’. Since not ONE has been charged with the specific crime of ‘Insurrection’ (the current charges include ‘trespassing’), why are they continued to be held without bond or bail, some in solitary confinement, for TEN MONTHS? Are there no judges to correct this abuse of the penal system?

6. Blatant abdication of responsibility of local law enforcement to arrest true rioters in the summer of 2020. Either the line officers, the Chief of Police, or the mayors of those cities, if not the Governors of those States, SOMEONE abandoned their job of protecting their people.

7. Complete fiscal malfeasance of Congress by submitting ‘budgets’ or ‘bills’ with trillion-dollar price tags, with no realistic method to pay for them. I should include voting for such bills without reading them, thus abdicating the prime responsibility of their offices.

8. Blatant political usage of the DOJ and FBI. The complete ignoring of some crimes, while aggressively pursuing others, with obvious political motives, is as dastardly as it gets.

9. Attempting to pass blatantly unconstitutional provisions, such as a tax on unrealized asset gains. Note that to tax real income required the ratification of the 16th Amendment. Asset value can in no way be construed as ‘wages’ or ‘income’, so taxing such should be an unconstitutional direct tax.

10. Purging military members for ‘undesirable’ political opinions or thought. Please point to the paragraph in the UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice) that allows for this. Otherwise honorable members of the military, shown the door for not agreeing with the politics of the current administration?

I’m sure my list is only partial.

Now, for my answer to the question, “What can we do?” NOTHING. At least, nothing legal. We lost our chance when, either legitimately or otherwise, we elected a political party into enough offices, that absolutely hate the US, from the House, to the Senate, to the President. Democrats have shown at all levels that they despise law enforcement, our military, Capitalism, and the rule of law. They put the ‘rights’ of illegal aliens AHEAD of US citizens. They economically damage their own constituents, by championing policies that remove our energy independence (however briefly held), and destroy the absolute value of our currency. I used to think they were just wrong on most policies, but now, I have revised that to be an intentional destruction. Otherwise, they would occasionally do something I agree with, that aids the taxpayer, and advances personal freedom. That simply has not happened, even accidentally, with this group.

And, before you think the GOP gets a clear pass on this, WHERE ARE THEY? Where are their loud, argumentative voices AGAINST this behavior? If I saw more spine, more fight, more determination from the GOP, I would put more stock in the 2022 mid-term elections! As is, I simply do not have any confidence in their ability to fight this nonsense. Protesting? I truly believe that in-the-street protesting is something to draw attention to an ignored topic, or to show the powers that be how angry we are, or how many of us commiserate on a specific issue. But as a method to incite political change? Does anyone really think that protests will change Congress’ views of citizens? That Biden (or whomever is running him) will change his mind about everything listed above? I have a sneaky suspicion that the full weight of law enforcement (see number 5 above) will come down severely on anyone, regardless of how legal such a protest might be.

An illegal action? How about a REAL insurrection? Millions of armed taxpayers, overwhelming DC with the outrage it deserves? The phrases ‘tar and feather’ and ‘torches and pitchforks’ come to mind. We did it from 1774 to 1789, for much less mistreatment. But I don’t think there are enough revolutionaries in this day and time. Geez, I hope I’m wrong.
