Rush Makes Lemonade from Democratic Lemons

People either like Rush Limbaugh or they do not but no matter how people feel there is one thing they cannot deny and that is, the guy is a savvy business man. He built his talk show into a national program that is heard by millions of people each week and he has many ventures that bring him lots of money. He is generous with that money and he makes sure that he gives to and raises money for the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation which awards scholarships to the children of fallen heroes.

Recently, Rush Limbaugh was misquoted in something he said on his program. Despite the fact that his morning update and the topic at hand dealt with one phony soldier, he was excoriated for using the words when they were taken out of context and when Media Matters, an organization Hillary helped found, made it appear as if Limbaugh was talking about all soldiers who disagree with the war, not just the ones who are truly phony soldiers. Interestingly, the very Democrats who are trying to bring our troops home in defeat, the very ones who refused to denounce Moron.org for talking badly about General Petraeus, jumped up to defend the honor and dignity of our troops. Harry Reid, the low life, scum sucking maggot, wrote a letter to the company that syndicates Rush Limbaugh demanding an apology, which the boss decided he was not going to do.

In any event, this was the Democrats talking about Limbaugh and trying to discredit him. They tried to portray him as anti troop and a bad guy. This is all part of a plan by Media Matters and the rest of the liberal groups to discredit and silence Conservative talk before the next election. One might have thought that Harry Reid had the upper hand and that he was going to make Limbaugh look like he does not support the troops but he underestimated Rush Limbaugh.

Rush took the lemons that Harry Reid gave him in that letter and turned them into lemonade. Rush has the original letter with the signatures of the 41 Senators who signed it and he is auctioning it off on eBay. This auction is not to make money for Rush though because 100% of the money made from the sale of the letters will go to the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Fund. Rush is using the stupidity of Harry Reid to earn money for the very people Reid and the cretins at Media Matters want you to think he does not support.

Once again, Rush Limbaugh outsmarted the idiot Democrats. I heard that the Dems were not too happy about this but there is absolutely nothing they can do. Rush can do as he pleases with the letter and he is selling it. As of this writing the bid is up to $40,200 which is worth more than the value of the 41 people who signed the damned thing.

Way to go Rush.

Hey Harry Reid; How does it feel to get screwed in front of the entire nation?

Does CDC Recommend Shots for NASCAR Fans?

Congressional staffers who visited two sites where NASCAR races were taking place were advised to get immunizations for Hepatitis A and B, Influenza, tetanus, and diphtheria. These staffers made trips to local hospitals that would respond to emergencies if something happened at one of these events. I am not sure who actually advised them to get the shots but it should have been a doctor. Most of these shots are unnecessary or should already be up to date.

Hepatitis A is a disease that is transferred via the fecal oral route. In the US we do not have sewage running all over and though an outbreak can occur from improper hand washing by food workers, the staffers are no more likely to get it at the hospital than they are at the Congressional Cafeteria. Hepatitis B is passed from blood from an infected person and involves certain exposures (like sex, IV drug use, and birth) none of which I think the staffers would be involved in. However, the vaccine is part of the series children now get. While it is prudent for health care workers to receive it (and require it to work in health care) it is unlikely that these staffers would be exposed to blood or other body fluids in the scope of their duties. They are probably less likely to get the disease than the people who visit loved ones who are hospitalized and we do not routinely recommend that they get the vaccine. Though I think it is a good idea for everyone who is able to get the vaccine do so I do not think this mission specifically required it.

Tetanus is required as a child and boosters are given every 10 years and most people get one after some kind of open would injury though puncture wounds (like stepping on a nail) are most problematic. I doubt that the staffers were working where they would be at risk though one could argue that they would be walking around the NASCAR event where various objects might present as hazards. However, a tetanus shot may be given when they injury is treated and will just as effective.

Diphtheria is a respiratory illness (it ialso has a cutaneous or skin component) transmitted via direct person-to-person transmission by intimate respiratory and physical contact. While it is unlikely that this would occur on this mission, there would be a great number of people around breathing all over each other. Since diphtheria is bundled with tetanus, this might be the reason it was recommended.

The flu shot is the only one that makes sense. This is flu season and there will be a lot of people running around. Plus they will be visiting hospitals which are full of sick people.

Since these shots were recommended to perform a job, the employer is required to provide them without charge. Perhaps this was a way to allow staffers to update their shot record at taxpayer expense. One must ask if the CDC recommends these shots for NASCAR fans who spend a great deal more time at these events than do Congressional staffers.

Democrats in, Congress Godless

Nancy Pelosi defended the actions of the Capitol architect who took it upon himself to decide that the word God and any other religious phrases may not be placed on the certificates that accompany Flags ordered by constituents. Nancy Pelosi and the architect are denying people their right to free speech. People have a right to have whatever they want, within the limits of good taste, added to the certificates. In case these people do not know it, the Flag and its accompanying certificate are not free. People order them and PAY for them. Since they are paying for them, they should have a right to get just about whatever they want on them.

The case stems from an Eagle Scout who wanted, “In honor of my grandfather Marcel Larochelle, and his dedication and love of God, country, and family” written on his certificate. When he received it, the word God was not on it. He paid for the Flag and certificate and the PC police at the Capitol decided that the word was inappropriate. Who is this jackass and what power does he have to decide what people have written on certificates that they pay for? Additionally, if he was not going to put what the kid wanted on the certificate, he should have returned the money and the form with an explanation.

Unfortunately, Nancy Pelosi is so anti religion and liberal (but I repeat myself) that she lacks the courage to tell the guy to print what people pay for. How dare this woman decide that this is appropriate and to declare that she does not see the point of the Congressman who was upset about it? I am willing to bet this jackass architect accepts his pay in US dollars that have the words “In God We Trust” imprinted upon them. I am willing to bet Pelosi has no problem accepting the millions of dollars in graft she gets even though those dollars contain the very same words.

I believe that all Americans should stop ordering Flags from the Congress. Just stop completely and let them figure out something else to do with their time. I also think we should refuse to pay our taxes because we would not want to offend any of these jackasses who don’t like to see God’s name in print. These jackasses are only religious when they are running for office ala Hillary and B. Hussein.

Check that idea about not paying taxes. That could be risky given how the federal government sends jack booted marshals to arrest you and harass your friends if you refuse to surrender your money to those who extort it from you. You could fly planes into buildings and Democrats will praise you and demand that you not be tortured but fail to pay your taxes and they send SS storm troopers from the Federal Marshal’s office to beat the money our of you or take you into custody. When the Mafia did that it was called extortion. When the federal government does it, it is called the tax system.

Just ask the Browns and their friends.

Hospital Employees Suspended for Clooney Disclosure

Forty hospital workers at Palisades Medical Center were suspended for disclosing George Clooney’s medical information to the media in violation of federal law. Clooney was involved in a motorcycle accident and within minutes his information was accessed and distributed to the media. This is a very serious matter but here is what a union spokesperson had to say:

“It was inappropriate but they are paying a steep price. But I don’t even think George Clooney would want people to pay. Again, the apology to him for his privacy rights [is necessary], but I think in fact the hospital is overreacting,” says Jean Oterson of the HPAA. WCBSTV

This union spokesperson thinks that these people paid a steep price for violating federal law with regard to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) which specifically forbids disclosure of patient information to unauthorized persons or entities. If this spokesperson thinks that the suspensions without pay are steep, wait until the feds get done:

Civil Penalties

Violations of the Administrative Simplification Regulations can result civil monetary penalties of $100 per violation, up to $25,000 per year.

Criminal Penalties

In June 2005, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) clarified who can be held criminally liable under HIPAA. Covered entities and specified individuals, as explained below, whom “knowingly” obtain or disclose individually identifiable health information in violation of the Administrative Simplification Regulations face a fine of up to $50,000, as well as imprisonment up to one year. Offenses committed under false pretenses allow penalties to be increased to a $100,000 fine, with up to five years in prison. Finally, offenses committed with the intent to sell, transfer, or use individually identifiable health information for commercial advantage, personal gain or malicious harm permit fines of $250,000, and imprisonment for up to ten years. AMA

These people will be fortunate if the suspension and loss of pay is as steep as it gets because the feds can really make life miserable for people who disclose health information. These workers received HIPAA training and they had an ethical and legal obligation to keep Clooney’s information private.

This is typical for unions. Also, notice how this person speaks for Clooney?

Those Religious Nut Politicians

Since George Bush was elected president his religious views have been ridiculed and scorned, especially by those on the left and in the media (but I repeat myself). When George Bush says that he seeks the guidance of the Almighty people act as if he has three heads. When he talks about prayer the left goes nuts and there are those who believe that religion has no place in government. The religious contingent of voters has been referred to as the religious right as if there is something inherently wrong with being a religious person because, after all, they are on the right.

Of course, when the Democrats are out trying to win an election they find religion. Part of the Democratic platform is to speak more of religion and to court the religious vote. The left does not care about the people it just wants their votes. Look at how many Democrats speak from churches when they are running for office. After they are elected they seem to run from the church and anything religious. One might say that religion should not play in the political arena and that is certainly a view to which people are entitled. What I find interesting is the hypocrisy.

Those who think that George Bush is pushing Christianity across the Middle East as part of his personal crusade get their panties in a wad whenever they talk about the president and his agenda. But along comes B. Hussein Obama with his talk about religion and building a Kingdom on Earth and he is hailed as the second coming of John the Baptist.

Obama was in a church this weekend where he said:

“Sometimes this is a difficult road being in politics,” Obama said. “Sometimes you can become fearful, sometimes you can become vain, sometimes you can seek power just for power’s sake instead of because you want to do service to God. I just want all of you to pray that I can be an instrument of God in the same way that Pastor Ron and all of you are instruments of God.” CNN

If George Bush siad that he was an instrument of God the left in America would be melting down in a pile of babbling goo. They would be very upset that this president invoked God and discussed his religion in the decisions he has made. How dare him be an instrument of God? In fact, there are those who believe that Bush thinks he is an instrument of God and acts accordingly, much to the distaste of the Godless liberals.

Let Obama show up and speak in such a fashion and all the sudden he is revered as a religious man who will do God’s work in America. I will admit though, when he said the part about being vain and seeking power for power’s sake, I though of Hillary…

Religion plays a large part in American politics and there is no escaping that regardless of what the ACLU and the atheists want. However, Democrats only seem to care about religion when it is time to be elected. Any other time their moral compass points to Hell.

The problem, of course, is that some people fall for this. The Jews vote overwhelmingly Democrat though the Democrats screw the Jews and abandon Israel every time they get the chance. The black community, which is strongly conservative in its religious views, votes Democratic in every election despite the fact that 40 years of Democratic policies and programs has put them in a worse position.

I only hope the religious right can see through this mindless prattle and realize that no matter how much the Democrats claim to be people of God, when the votes are counted and they have won, they go right back to their Godless ways.

Forty million murdered babies are evidence of that.
