Not Ready To Make Nice

Obama Error

For the past eight years the liberal part of this country has been unhinged. They have said the most vile things about President Bush and Republicans and they have worked against everything that he and his administration has tried to do. They have been so vile in their behavior that the phrase “Bush Derangement Syndrome” has been coined to describe their behavior. They were never inclined to work together to make this country better and, in fact, they worked to tear the country apart.

Now that they have won the White House they are telling us to come together for the good of the country. There is a website where the 52% who won and the 48% who lost exchange messages of bipartisan support. They tell us it is time to work together and that there are no hard feelings. People hold up signs telling us that we can make it if we are only good enough to come together in bipartisan fashion.

Screw That!

The 52% are the same people who, only four years ago, held up signs with maps of the US indicating the red parts were “Jesusland” and maps with “bomb here” as instructions for terrorists. They had signs discussing moving to Canada (very few did) and signs calling people who voted for George Bush some of the nastiest names. None of them held signs that said we needed to come together and work in a bipartisan fashion to make this country better. Eight years ago was the time for that to happen and their failure to accept the results and move on will come back to haunt them now.

The Dixie Chicks mouthed off about George Bush and their sales lagged. They were even more indignant and put the blame on the public who, they claim, were denying them their right to free speech. No, we just exercised our right not to support people with whom we disagree. Instead of an apology they came out with a new song entitled “Not Ready To Make Nice.” The first part goes like this:

Forgive, sounds good
Forget, I’m not sure I could
They say time heals everything
But I’m still waiting

Those words describe exactly how I feel about the way the left has acted over the past eight years and I am not ready to make nice with any of them. Barack Obama is the duly elected president of the United States but that does not mean that we now all have to drink his Socialist kool aid and fall in line. We will be there to critique his every move and to heavily criticize those that are not what we like. It is time for payback and payback it will be. Revenge is a dish best served cold and the dishes that will be served are at sub zero temperatures.

The left is only willing to work together so long as people are working toward their defined agenda. Anything that is contrary to their desires will be opposed. Look at how they treated John McCain. He has reached across the aisle quite often and the only reward he gets is a hand slap. McCain was a media darling because he was willing to work with the other side. The NYT endorsed him in the primary because if their guy lost, they would be comfortable with a guy who likes to play nice with the other side. However, as soon as the general hit the NYT changed its tone and brutalized McCain. Those of us who supported McCain were called racists every time we spoke or wrote and the Obama campaign was petty and small in how it treated rivals. The media was in the tank for Obama and they were unfair and extremely unkind to Sarah Palin.

This is what you get when you work with them or if your beliefs are different from theirs. No good deed goes unpunished and that is particularly true with the liberals in this country. The morons over at the Daily Kos have been absolutely brutal to George Bush and now the left expects us to ignore this and work together.

Perhaps the reason they want support is because they sold their souls to the devil in exchange for an inexperienced man who believes in Socialism and they know he will need help along the way in order for his plans to succeed. Not going to happen. As Ann Coulter wrote in her last column:

For now, we have a new president-elect. In the spirit of reaching across the aisle, we owe it to the Democrats to show their president the exact same kind of respect and loyalty that they have shown our recent Republican president.

Bingo! Or as the Dixie Chicks put it:

I’m not ready to make nice
I’m not ready to back down
I’m still mad as hell and
I don’t have time to go round and round and round
It’s too late to make it right
I probably wouldn’t if I could
‘Cause I’m mad as hell
Can’t bring myself to do what it is you think I should

You people made your beds now you have to lie in them. As for 52%, you can fold those signs up and stick them up your collective…

Quoting from a Dixie Chick song is about as bipartisan as I intend to be.
