Hillary Was Right; We Can’t Afford Her

Hillary Clinton, in one of her last mutations, told us that she has so many plans for America that we could not afford them all. She was absolutely right. Not only can we not afford her plans financially, we can not afford to have them as part of our economy. Hillary, while pandering for votes, is to announce a $70 BILLION dollar economic stimulus plan aimed at, who else, the poor. That is Billion with a “B” and it will come from the hard work of taxpayers.

Hillary will infuse money to slow the rate of foreclosure, a crisis that came from people buying more house than they could afford from people who were only concerned with making money. Ultimately, the responsibility rests on the shoulders of the people who made the loans. Those loans are contracts that are legally binding and people who made them should be held accountable. Having said that, there are ways to help with this without bilking taxpayers out of their money. I pay my bills and I expect everyone else to do the same. Forcing finance companies to have a set interest rate and refinancing loans over longer periods will help. But whatever they do it should not involve picking the pockets of the rest of us.

Hillary wants to put some money aside to help with the rising cost of fuel. I know that many utility companies have programs where people donate money to help those who cannot afford their utility bills. This is fine and it is voluntary. If the government is going to set money aside for people in this fashion, which I am opposed to, then there needs to be other steps. People who get assistance must have thermostats installed so that they cannot raise the heat or lower the AC. They must be set at 68 degrees. These folks must also give up cable TV, cell phones, and other luxury items. Additionally, they may not take out credit or buy any luxury items. If they can afford those, they can afford their utilities. Once again, I pay my bills and I expect others to pay theirs.

Hillary also wants to expand unemployment coverage for those struggling to find a job. Once again, taxpayer money will be used to pay people who do not work. There are jobs out there and if the government would stop creating a climate where businesses leave the country there would be even more jobs. No program should pay a person so long as there is a job whether it is greeter at Wal Mart or burger flipper at McDonald’s.

There are other parts of her plan but this is designed to make people want to vote for her. It is a huge vote buying scheme based upon the tax and spend philosophy so prevalent in the Democratic Party. Seventy BILLION dollars is a lot of money and when you add this to the other expensive plans she wants to impose, like universal health care, then we can rapidly conclude that we cannot afford Hillary Clinton.

She will spend us into bankruptcy and she will tax EVERYONE who earns money. This idea that the rich will be the only ones to suffer is a bunch of BS. It is easy for her to say that because her definition of rich is anyone who earns money and pays taxes. Most of the taxes in this country are paid by the top wage earners in this country and the only way she will get more money is to keep moving the line that defines rich lower and lower.

Anyone who subscribes to these ideas or who votes for this woman is an idiot. We have problems in this country but spending more money that we do not have, on social programs is not going to solve any of them. The Congress (and mostly Democrats over the last 60 years) has spent TRILLIONS of dollars on social programs and we still have the same rates of poverty and we have even higher deficits.

If we want to get our economy on track why don’t they decide to end so called free trade and impose tariffs on the items other countries send here. That would bring money in and reduce the tax burden. We could also get rid of the ILLEGALS and free up some jobs for those having problems finding one. That would also decrease the burden on our social program dollars.

Clinton and the rest of the Democrats are turning the issues into class warfare and one day the wealthy are going to stand up and say enough is enough. Pretty soon, those who earn money and pay taxes are going to insist on some accountability. Anyone who receives these services will have to have a strict accounting of what they got and what it was spent on.

Hillary Clinton is a socialist and she will complete the job of ruining this country that her husband started.

Hillary is Satan.

The AMT, a Congressional Tax Scam

The Alternative Minimum Tax, or AMT, was enacted in 1969 to force millionaires to pay a “minimum” amount of taxes. The law was specifically aimed at the fewer than 200 millionaires in this country. I am sure Congress did not consider that there would be many more millionaires over the years with a few billionaires sprinkled in. They also never figured what would happen to this archaic law over the years. Since Congress failed to index the AMT for inflation, this law has been affecting people who are no where near being millionaires and it has done so for years. People who make a little as $150,000 can be hit by the AMT (and some with lower incomes depending on circumstances). There are people who would argue that $150,000 is a very good salary, and it is, but that in no way makes a person a millionaire.

Nearly 40 years after the AMT was enacted Congress has decided to do something about the way that it is affecting non-millionaires. But this comes with great concerns to our esteemed members of the criminal club in Congress because they are trying to figure out how to make up the revenue that will be lost by fixing the AMT. They want to do this by raising taxes on the rich (who else) but the AMT was a tax that was designed to only affect the rich in the first place. Charlie Rangel is beside himself because of all the money the government will lose if they fix the AMT without replacing the revenue source. Rangel says this as if the money belongs to the government instead of the people.

What I want Rangel and others to do is abolish the AMT completely. It is antiquated and has no place in our system. There are a lot of rich people and they pay a great deal in taxes. Then, I want Rangel and the other members of Congress to find a way to refund the money that they have received illegally over the years. The AMT was designed to impact millionaires. It has resulted in non-millionaires paying a fortune in extra taxes over the years so Congress owes people money back. Their law affected people it was not supposed to touch so the reality of the situation is, Congress will not be losing money, as Rangel claims but rather it will be no longer getting money to which it is not entitled.

My opinion is that Congress has never been entitled to the money the AMT has raised from non-millionaires because this is contrary to the law they enacted in 1969. Congress has been ignoring this for nearly four decades because they liked taking in extra money that they had not planned on getting. This allows them to waste even more. The problem is, the AMT has not reached down to the middle class of America and the middle class is not too happy. Congress might kiss the rears of lobbyists and rich people for campaign money but the middle class is a larger voting block and they do not want to tick everyone off. So they put up a little patch to keep the AMT from getting even more people this year while they work on a way to make the rich pay for a mistake that was only supposed to affect the rich in the first place.

The desire of the Democrats in Congress to always tax the hell out of the rich is one of the reasons many businesses decide to move their efforts out of the country. It is why many rich people have investments that are not subject to the US tax system and it is why rich people hire armies of lawyers to keep them from being raked over the coals. Next time one of you bleeding heart liberals cries about some big company (like Heinz) outsourcing to another country don’t cry about the company and how evil and greedy it is. Instead, focus your anger toward a body that thinks it is OK to rape people because they are successful. The actions of Congress cause people to react.

People who have paid the AMT over the years (and who are not millionaires) should write a letter to their members of Congress demanding their money back. They should assert it was taken by fraud and should be returned.

The AMT does not make millionaires pay a minimum tax. It forces ordinary wage earners to find ways to reduce the burden of taxes by getting higher cost health insurance and making larger contributions to retirement plans. These reduce the amount of income that is actually taxed. Of course, there are plenty of ways to avoid taxes, as the rich in this country (like members of Congress) have found out.

We need a tax code that is no more than 10 pages long. It should include a flat tax that cannot be raised above a certain number without the vote of the people. The flat tax will eliminate the need for the pithy class warfare Democrats love to play and it will eliminate the need for many other tax schemes such as the AMT. It should also reduce the need for an IRS (the Gestapo of the Congress) and it will reduce the cost associated with running the tax scheme of this country.

One thing we should make sure of is that Rangel and the rest of his bandits are not allowed to rape the rich to fix a problem that should never have happened and only happened due the the incompetence of the Congress.

Martin O’Malley is a Pompous Ass

I have written several times about the huge tax increase that was just passed in the state of Maryland by the tax and spend Democrats who were led by the pompous ass himself, Martin O’Malley. It is common knowledge that these idiots did this now so that we would forget about it when the next election rolls around in three years. I also informed people that O’Malley has dreams of serving in a Democratic administration in DC so he really does not care how he screws us. O’Malley, who proved he cannot lead when he was Mayor of Baltimore, was interviewed after he signed the tax increases into law. Let us look at what this dimwit had to say:

“And I’m very, very proud of them,” says Governor O’Malley. “Also know, that this would not have had happened were it not for some really courageous leadership by President Miller and Speaker Mike Busch. Both of whom had to bend and had to yield and had come together in the center in order for us to forge this consensus.”

Governor O’Malley said, for the most part, the people of the state, on both sides of the issues during the special session, handled the public discussion in a civil way.

“Even among the Republican members of this body, there was an understanding that this was a deep and serious problem,” said O’Malley in his exclusive interview with WBAL. “There were very few of them once the debate arrived who were feeding any longer that myth that this could all be accomplished by cuts alone.”

And what would he say to the strongest critics of his tax increases?

“I would say that I have yet to meet any citizen of our state, Democrat, Republican or Independent who wants to pay more in taxes,” said O’Malley. “However, none of us want to leave our state to our kids in a weaker condition than we received it ourselves.” WBAL Radio

So O’Malley thinks there was a consensus? All the Democrats voted for the tax increases and all the Republicans voted against it. The fact is, Maryland has a super majority of Democrats so they win the vote in the legislature. Regardless, this is in no way a consensus. Of course to a Democrat it is consensus because as long as people are forced to do things their way it is consensus. I might expect this guy would not understand the definition of consensus because he believes a flat tax is unfair and raising the percentages on those making more money is. How anyone can believe the mindless tripe that spews out of his pie hole is beyond me.

He also discusses courageous leadership. These two guys, miller and Busch counted heads and then let those Democrats in vulnerable seats vote against it so long as they still had the votes to pass it. Additionally, these cowards kicked the can down the road with regard to the slots issue. Instead of having the courage to pass slots NOW they decided it would go to referendum and be on the 2008 ballot. This means that it will be six years after the last governor first proposed slots before it is even voted upon. If these cowards that O’Malley thinks are courageous would have voted for slots in 2002 we would be well on our way to fiscal health. Instead, these whiny little school girls played games while Maryland got deeper in debt, a debt created because these jerks do not know how to control spending.

No Republican who left the special session has indicated that he had some epiphany and realized that this could not be accomplished by spending cuts alone. None of them voted for the tax increases and they continue to say that it could have been handled by controlling spending but Democrats do not know how to control spending. O’Malley is already starting the lies and the spinning so when the state goes in the dumper due to the inflation and high taxes he can blame it on someone else. This jackass is famous for crying and blaming everyone else. Any time you want to discuss your stupidity Marty, contact me and I will be glad to put you in your place and expose your stupidity. I will give you something to cry about.

Finally, O’Malley could not discuss screwing everyone without playing Democrat and telling us how this is for the children. O’Malley raised taxes, allowed the electric rates to increase after promising they would not and he has added even more spending to the budget in the form of free health care. He is screwing the children over because their parents will not have enough money to feed them. This little loser twerp is trying to justify the biggest tax increase in the state’s history by saying it is for the kids.

I have an idea Marty. If you want to leave this state in better shape than you found it, replace all the Democrats in office with Republicans.

Folks, don’t let this lying little piece of maggot feces pull the wool over your eyes. He intended to raise taxes and would have done so if we had billions of dollars of extra money floating around. This twerp is no leader. he could not lead a group of people out of a burning building.

Screw you O’Malley and all the Democrats who voted for this ignorance.

So Much for Democratic Fiscal Responsibility

Citizens Against Government Waste is putting the finishing touches on its pork report for the year and what they will report is not pretty. There were 8000 earmarks totaling 20 billion dollars. That is 20 billion dollars in taxpayer money that was flushed down the drain by the Democratic Congress, the ones who promised to put an end to waste and be a more efficient government. The truth is they could not keep their money grubbing hands out of our pockets and they could not exercise any control. For those who say the government should tax the hell out of us to provide unconstitutional social programs, here is 20 billion dollars that could have provided services without raising taxes.

Of course, I do not believe in universal health care or other government run and government provided services but if I did I would be asking how we can afford this kind of waste and not the items that Democrats think are important. The Republican led Congress (and President Bush for that matter) was no better but they lost last year so this is on the new majority. The Democrats campaigned on their ability to fix these kinds of things and now it is glaringly obvious that they are unable. They lack control and they lack responsibility.

Democrats like to say we need to end the war because that is why they were elected. They campaigned on ending the war along with the promise to be responsible with our money so that means if ending the war was a mandate, so was being fiscally responsible. They have failed miserably on both counts.

I do not think the election was a mandate on the war but this is what they think. So they are not free to cherry pick what they were elected to do. They promised to be responsible with our money and they have not been. This is another reason we need the line item veto and it is a very good example of why we should never trust Democrats.

There should be no doubt that they are truly the tax and spend party.
