The Contradictions Of Barack Obama

Barack Obama is a charismatic man who is well spoken and is usually coherent so long as he has a teleprompter from which to read. Obama is a man of contradictions which might be a polite way of saying he is a liar.

Barack Obama pushed through a trillion dollar spending bill that he called a stimulus package. It was so critical it had to be done yesterday. The Congress acted so quickly that none of them read it. Obama then went on holiday and eventually signed it four days later.

Interestingly, after he spent wealth that has not yet been earned, he gave a speech where he said we had to spend money wisely and that there needed to be fiscal restraint. He promised that they would not spend money without a funding source (usually whomever he decides is rich). How contradictory is that? He says they won’t spend money they don’t have after he spends more money than anyone in the history of government and it was money that will not be earned until our grandchildren get jobs.

Today, Obama signed a 450 billion dollar omnibus package which wrapped up all the things Congress did not get to last year. It is the unfinished business for the year. I guess Congress was too busy taking all those days off last year to get this done. In this bill there were about 9000 earmarks. This is money that is wasted by our government. This is money we do not have and it is being spent after Obama said we would not do that.

About 126 million dollars in earmarks going to Massachusetts will be spent on structures honoring the Kennedys. That’s right folks, the US government is spending millions of dollars to stroke the egos in the Kennedy family. This is a blatant waste of money and Barack Obama should have vetoed the bill. He was obligated to do so by his own words. No, not the lie about spending money we don’t have but another, now apparent lie, he told during the campaign.

Barack Obama said that that he would fix the broken earmark process to ensure our money was being spent wisely. Then he allowed Congress to insert 9000 earmarks in a bill and he signed it. He did not keep his word about earmarks which is another one of those pesky contradictions.

I also read that Obama used a signing statement on the bill. That is something he said George Bush abused and all indications were that he would not do that. Guess it is different when you actually have to govern.

Interestingly, Obama and his minions claimed that this bill cleaned up last year’s mess and that things would be different when they submit their first official budget for next fiscal year (begins 1 October 2009).

This is a cowardly way of addressing the issue and it shows that Obama does not possess leadership skills. What better way for him to signal this change thing he talked about then to veto it and tell them to send it back when it had no earmarks? He could have sent a strong message to the American public and to Congress. Instead he allowed Congress to abuse him like a $2.00 hooker.

This man is clueless and he is spending us into a black hole. I never want to hear the Democrats cry about Bush and his spending again. Yes he spent a lot and I wrote about that several times but Obama is on a pace to well exceed Bush and he will do it in a much shorter period.

A community organizer is not a leader. Barack Obama has never been in charge of anything. He has never been a leader. He has never had to be the decision maker.

It shows.

Around The Horn

Oh no, the North Koreans are on alert

Looks like the North Koreans have their Commie panties in a wad because the US and South Korea are going to be involved in joint military training exercises. These exercises have taken place in the past but now the NORKS are on high alert and worried about being attacked. Perhaps they are a little uneasy because the Navy indicated it was ready to shoot down the NORK missile (satellite) if it appeared threatening. Maybe this is the test Biden warned about…

The NORKS have shut off communications with the UN and the million or so members of the military are on high alert.

The Plan: The US and South Korea should find a way to extend the training exercise for a month or so. The North Koreans have no fuel for their planes and it is assumed the same is true for their land based vehicles. They are dirt poor and a month of spending on military alert could probably push them over the edge. We could put an end to them without firing a shot. [Breitbart]

Botox Airlines

After 9/11 the president decided that the Speaker of the House should use a military aircraft to travel from DC to the home district, if one was available. Nancy Pelosi has extended that to mean the US Air Force is her personal air taxi service. Pelosi requests a bigger plane with a few more luxuries. When one is not available she gets upset and evidently her aide in charge of booking them wants the Air Force to explain why the wicked witch of the west does not have a plane.

The key is the phrase “when available.” If one is not available then Pelosi does not get one. It is quite simple. But it is tough because she has the Air Force ferry her and her family all over the place.

She said she required a bigger plane so that she would not have to stop for fuel on the way home. I suggest a long range bomber. They will fly for a long time and they could put Pelosi’s seat right above the bomb bay doors…[Fox News]

Who is Arlen Specter trying to fool?

Senator Arlen Specter is worried about losing his seat in the next election. The fact that he is still in office is one of the things I hold against George Bush. Bush campaigned for him and helped him win when he should have been booted out. Specter is a RINO and sides with the Democrats rather than his own party. He was one of only 3 Republicans to vote for the TRILLION dollar stimulus bill. He needs to go.

He knows that his name is mud and he is starting early in his reelection bid. In an interview he chastised Michael Steele for apologizing to Rush Limbaugh and then claimed that he [Specter] was trying to lead the Republican party. He said that he was trying to lead from the middle where the American people want to be led from. Specter also took a shot at his likely opponent.

This man is a moron. Americans do not want to be led from the center. Conservatives want to be led by people who hold conservative values. This half baked retard has not figured out that the reason that Democrats won was because Republicans became too much like them. Some Republican voters figured if they were going to have liberal policies they might as well vote for liberals and others just stayed home.

We cannot win by trying to be like them. Perhaps Specter has not seen the light yet but Republicans rejected that idea.

Specter is NO leader. There is a saying that you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink it.

Specter couldn’t even lead the horse to the water.

The people of Pennsylvania need to get rid of this moron in the next election. [WILK]

Queen Pelosi’s Definition Of Bipartisan

Nancy Pelosi has a strange definition of bipartisan. To most thinking people, it relates to TWO parties and when used in this context means they will work together. Nancy Pelosi and her brood of Democrats all claimed that the Republicans ignored them and they claimed that George Bush had not worked with them on anything. This despite the fact that Bush tried to reach out to them only to be slapped down. After crying about how partisan the Republicans are, Pelosi said:

“Elect us, hold us accountable, and make a judgment and then go from there. But I do tell you that if the Democrats win, and have substantial majorities, Congress of the United States will be more bipartisan.” ABC

First of all, it is hard to hold them accountable because as soon as they screw up or get blamed for something they point at President Bush. He gets blamed for everything. Pelosi said the Democrats had nothing to do with the economic problems when they were largely responsible. Obama said Bush was to blame for everything when he campaigned (now his moonbat followers are accusing him of being like Bush) and Harry Reid said Bush was the worst president ever even though his approval rating is better than Congresses’. No, you can’t pin blame on them because they always have an excuse.

Then there was that part about being more bipartisan. As I pointed out, bipartisan means that each party has some say in the matters and that all opinions will be taken into consideration. It means that the majority is looking to partner with the minority to help solve problems. Like when Republicans wrote new rules after they took control in 1994. They included the minority party in the deliberations. They refused to exercise the nuclear option so that Democrats could still have a say. I warned at that time that if the Democrats ever took control they would not be so generous.

And of course, I was right.

Queen Nancy Pelosi of “more bipartisan” fame will introduce new rules for the House that exclude Republicans from the process.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi plans to re-write House rules today to ensure that the Republican minority is unable to have any influence on legislation. Pelosi’s proposals are so draconian, and will so polarize the Capitol, that any thought President-elect Obama has of bipartisan cooperation will be rendered impossible before he even takes office.

Pelosi’s rule changes — which may be voted on today — will reverse the fairness rules that were written around Newt Gingrich’s “Contract with America.” Human Events

She will rewrite rules to keep Republicans from having any influence. I want someone to tell me how this is bipartisan. I want this 68 year old washed up Botox queen to tell me how this is working together. Maybe she has her granny panties in a wad because she will not be the top Democrat in DC. Make room for Daddy O.

This is nothing more than her attempt to ensure that Obama gets everything that he wants and that he will face little opposition. It is designed to make Americans think that the sainted one’s stuff is passing though easily because he is wonderful and everyone agrees. She did this to keep Republicans from screwing Obama the way the Democrats have screwed George Bush for the last eight years. She also did this so that Republicans would not be able to oppose the huge stimulus package that will surely include billions of dollars in pork. She does not want Republicans blocking the increased spending that the Democrats want. Trillions of dollars are at stake and Nancy can’t let it slip away.

If she thinks this will lead to more bipartisan cooperation then she is smoking some of those left handed cigarettes her state is famous for. This will tick off the Republicans who will find ways to cause gridlock.

If we can get the Senate Republicans to stick together then we can keep everything from passing. We can hold up cabinet appointments as well as judicial nominations. Our Senate should hold EVERYTHING up until the House agrees to rules that are fair to Republicans. The Senate Republicans need to work together in order to force the House to play nice or nothing gets done.

I am all in favor of gridlock. Let’s keep Obama’s plans from going through and let’s make sure nothing is rubber stamped. Let’s make sure McCain and the other RINOs keep their heads in the game and keep the Democrats from running roughshod over the country.

Keep an eye on them because any Republican than helps the Democrats out should be targeted in the next election. Even if it means we have a smaller presence we need to get rid of non conservatives.

The Democrats need to have as much control right now, without giving them total power, so that they have to make all the decisions. Then EVERYTHING is their fault (or their success). They can only get so much mileage out of blaming Bush before it gets old. They said they needed a bigger majority and they got it. Nancy said give them that and hold them accountable and that is what we should do.

We need to hold their pork laden little feet to the fire until we can boot them out of office.

Bipartisan? I am not surprised. This is a woman who thinks that murdering children in the womb is a choice.

To hell with her and the Democrats. And I mean that in the most bipartisan way possible.

Democrats See Republican Racists Everywhere

Recently, the Texas Republican Party held an event which included vendors. One of those vendors was selling a button that read “If Obama is President, will we still call it the White House?” The reaction from the left was immediate and of course, reactionary. As soon as they saw it they cried racism and painted all Republicans with the broad brush of racism. Now, I think the button was inappropriate and should not have been sold there but I don’t hold the Texas GOP responsible. They do not vet merchandise and after they were made aware of it they cut off that vendor and will not allow him to sell at their events in the future.

This little fact escapes the morons who jumped all over it and labeled all Republicans as racists. I have gone to some of the sites and the comments are simply outrageous and they demonstrate that many people on the left are not very well educated about the history of this country and the Republican Party which, by the way, ended slavery and supported and passed the Civil Rights legislation of the 1960s over harsh Democratic opposition. Yes, read that again. A larger majority of Republicans supported the legislation and quite a few more Democrats opposed it. Tell me again which party is racist. The Republican Party is the one that ended slavery and yet Republicans are branded as racists.

This is a huge mystery to me because it is not the Republican Party that currently has, and has had in the past, members of the KKK in it. Robert Byrd of West Virginia is a Democrat who is revered in Democratic circles. He was a member of the KKK. I wonder how many black people he terrorized. I wonder how many he helped lynch and I wonder why he is loved by Democrats. David Duke of Louisiana was in the KKK. He is a Democrat (though he also ran as a Republican) and he served in state government. From the comments I read one would never know that it was the Republican Party that made black people free and that we passed civil rights. No, according to those who have nothing bad to say about Byrd, every person who is a Republican is a racist.

I made a big stink about the anti Semitic items on Obama’s website. My complaint was that the items had been up there for several months and that the campaign was removing them and trying to delete any cached items so that it would appear they never existed. If Obama is all about open and honest, as he claims, he should have come clean and stated that they were found and removed. My post led to comments about the fact that anyone could write on Obama’s site if they had an account and that it was wrong to blame Obama for what others wrote (I knew the first and never claimed the second). I did allude to the fact that Obama does not seem to care for Jews which is my perception and evidently the perception of a lot of the Jewish community. Might explain why Bloomberg spoke favorably about Obambi to a Jewish group.

I read similar responses to Obama’s website content across the Internet. People claimed that he should not be held accountable for what others stated on his website. If we are to hold that as true, and the left evidently does, how do they find it acceptable to call all Republicans racist and to blame the Texas GOP for the action of ONE vendor? It seems like a double standard, say it isn’t so! No, it does not seem like it, it is. Meatbrain painted all Republicans (what he meant by “these people”) with that broad brush and Wonkette said that the button was worn by everyone at the convention. I don’t want to call Wonkette uninformed but the vendor said he made 12 of them and only sold 4 and 2 of those were to reporters. This is what happens when hysteria takes over for logical thought.

Isn’t it amazing that the people on the left cry foul and say it is unfair to make Obama guilty by association for all his past contacts (Wright, Pfleger, Rezko, Ayers, et al) and yet they will paint all Republicans as guilty because a vendor was at their convention? Four buttons were sold and two were to news reporters so obviously not a lot of Republicans were wearing them.

I want to ask a question. If a vendor who had not been vetted sold buttons at the Texas Republican Convention which displayed a message with racial overtones makes all Republicans racist, what would we say about all Obama supporters if the vendor turned out to be someone who says he might vote for Obama?

“We’re into humor, not racism,” said Alcox, who described himself as an independent who may vote for Obama in November. “Why would I do that purposely? I thought it was funny.” [from the above linked Yahoo story]

I mean, if he is an Obama supporter then that must mean all Obama supporters are racists.

As Obama would say, That is not the button vendor I knew.

Why Won’t Blacks Embrace the GOP?

Frank Rich wrote a piece in the New York Times in which he showed how Barack Obama could win the nomination and stifle the GOP because they would not know how to deal with race. Mr. Rich contends that the GOP has barricaded itself and tends to ignore the black vote, not because they are racists, but because they GOP is saddled with a history that makes it uncomfortable:

But the G.O.P., by its own doing, is nonetheless saddled with a history that most recently includes “macaca” and Katrina, Mr. Bush’s appearance at Bob Jones University in 2000 and the nonexistent black population of its Congressional delegation.

~snip~

…But not even conservative leaders of this stature [Gingrich and Kemp] could persuade their party’s top 2008 presidential contenders to show up for a September debate moderated by Tavis Smiley for PBS at the historically black Morgan State University.

It’s not because those no-shows are racists; it’s because they are defensive and out of touch. With the notable exception of Mike Huckabee, most of the party’s candidates have barricaded themselves from African-Americans for so long that they don’t know how to speak to or about them. New York Times

I have to disagree with Mr. Rich on these issues because he misses the bigger picture. The GOP is not saddled bad things, it is painted with the broad brush of racism by a slavish media that sees everything GOP as bad and everything from the left as good. Macaca was an unfortunate issue blown out of proportion by a media that refused to give the same attention to the rantings of Cynthia McKinney and her people and who continually ignore the racist and anti Semite words used by the so-called black leaders for fear of alienating them. Katrina involved black people (for the most part) led by a black mayor and a white governor, both of whom happen to be Democrats. The media never took the Democrats in state leadership to task for their inability to protect their people and instead focused their attention on a massive government effort that was delayed while helicopters performed dangerous missions rescuing those the state leadership failed to evacuate. Once again, this was contrived by the media, a media that refused to look at the actual mission of FEMA or the federal government. A media that led people to believe that George Bush was a racist because he and the feds did not don red capes and fly in to save people. This is the same media that actually gave some spotlight to an idiot like Farrakhan and his assertions that the feds blew up the levee to flood black people. This is a media that ignored the corruption that caused money for levee work to be rerouted to gambling interests and it is the same media that ignores the abuse of federal money in Louisiana at this very moment. A media that will focus on contractor waste in Iraq and ignore the graft and corruption in New Orleans. Maybe the reason members of the GOP do not know how to talk about or to blacks is because nearly everything they say is distorted by the media as more evidence of racism. Perhaps Mr. Rich should look into this.

As for blacks and the GOP; why would any black person want to be in the GOP? It is not because the GOP is a bunch of racists or that it treats black people differently. No, these folks do not want to be in the GOP because of the way they are treated by other blacks who have been the recipients of Democratic hand outs for so long that they do not understand self reliance. The dependent blacks will refer to those blacks in the GOP as “Uncle Toms” or sell outs to their race. The GOP welcomes them with open arms, it is the Democratic party and particularly the blacks in the Democratic party that cause them problems.

As for looking at the absence in the Congressional Delegation, let’s do that. First of all about 90% of blacks vote Democratic. There is no secret there and that is why the GOP skipped the debate at Morgan State. Morgan State is a black college and it is located in one of the most liberal states in the union. No debating in the world would help with the people there and any gains made would be negligible. Also, when blacks run for office as members of the GOP they are castigated by other blacks who believe that they must remain Democrats and vote for Democrats or they will be ushered back to a plantation to pick cotton.

Michael Steele ran for the US Senate in Maryland against an old white guy who was a Congressman for years and years. His name is Ben Cardin and he is a Democrat. Steele, a charismatic man who happens to be black and conservative, was shunned by the black voters of this state in favor of an old white guy. So Mr. Rich should explain why it is that blacks (mostly Democrat) shun other blacks in favor of old white guys. The reason that the GOP does not have any blacks in the Congressional Delegation is not because we do not try, it is because blacks overwhelmingly support Democrats and because there are very few blacks who are Republicans so it makes it even more difficult to find a person to run for office. After what Steele went through, why would anyone want to?

No Mr. Rich, the GOP is not out of touch with the black voters in this country. The GOP is well aware of them and is also well aware that the Democrats have convinced them, through years of welfare and other social programs, that the Dems are the party for them and they owe that allegiance. The blacks quickly forget that they are IGNORED right after the election. Then, leading up to elections a bunch of feel good legislation is passed so politicians can say they are the party of minorities. The Democrats buy the votes and then ignore the blacks all over again.

One only needs to ask, how much progress have blacks made in the last 50 years, a time when Democrats have held office as the majority more than Republicans ever have and a time period of huge amounts of money spent on social programs, the same kinds of programs that caused people in New Orleans to be unable to take care of themselves. The highest crime rates is in the black community. Black on black crime (particularly murder) is at an all time high and if it continues there will not be enough young black males to continue the race. The teen pregnancy rate in the black community is very high and the rate of households where there is only one parent is well over 50%. The inner cities, where blacks tend to live, are crime ridden with high unemployment and high incarceration rates.

GOP racism is not the cause of these things. This is because of a breakdown of the black community and disintegration of the black family unit. This is because social programs ostensibly designed to help the black community actually keep them downtrodden and subservient to the Democratic Party. If Obama wants to wake up and find more blacks in college than jail he needs to abandon the idea that social programs will cure the ills of society. Only by looking at the root cause can a solution be devised.

Regardless of that process, it is safe to say that it was not the programs of the GOP that caused the breakdown of the black community. It is also safe to say that until the cycle of dependence is broken the black community will continue to be enslaved to the Democratic party and their plight will be the same. Rich and others can blame the GOP but looking at it as a whole, those minorities who have chosen to be more conservative and joined the Republican party have done well. Colin Powell, Condi Rice, and Clarence Thomas are all blacks who have done well as conservatives (though Powell is the least of the bunch) and they did so based upon their merits, not because of a program.

Those minorities on the left who are successful owe that success to race hustling and class warfare. They maintain power by telling everyone about the racists in the world and claiming victim status. They also make money by keeping those they are supposed to represent down rather than helping them achieve something.

Mr. Rich, there are many problems in this country with race and the image of the GOP might be a problem but it is not one that will ever be erased as long as the black community refuses to remove the shackles placed on them by the left and embrace the idea that they can achieve without being attached to the government teat.

I would think that being taken granted for so long would embolden the black community to
