The Problem with Politicians

There is a battle brewing with regard to the Super Delegates in the Democratic Party. Hillary’s folks think they should select who they want and remain committed to those who they pledged up front. Obama’s people think the vote should go to the candidate who won the district represented by the SD. I really don’t care how they do it because they set this up under the assumption that the SDs knew better and could make the tough choices and now they are all praying the primary process takes care of it so they will not have to. Super Delegates are not specifically representatives of the people. They were given the power to select who they wanted and there were no stipulations placed on them in that regard. As far as I am concerned they can pick who they want because the rules say they can. My problem is with a statement made by a politician.

One black supporter of Clinton, Rep. Emanuel Cleaver of Missouri, said he remains committed to her. “There’s nothing going on right now that would cause me to” change, he said.

He said any suggestion that elected leaders should follow their voters “raises the age old political question. Are we elected to monitor where our constituents are … or are we to use our best judgment to do what’s in the best interests of our constituents.” My Way News

If he was speaking solely about the SDs I would agree that he should do it according to what he wants because there are no conditions on them. However, he is saying it is the age old question of do they do what their constituents want or what they [the politicians] think is in the best interests of the constituents. He is a Representative which means he represents a group of people. He should be voting based upon what the majority of his constituents want. The collective of his district know what is best for them and they do not need to be second guessed by a politician. Let me put it another way for Representative Cleaver and all other politicians who have this attitude and who think they need to question the judgment of their constituency:

Don’t question the judgment of your constituency, look who they voted into office.

This is the problem with politicians. They believe that being elected to office makes them smarter than everyone else and that they know what is best. How dare we peons tell them how we want them to vote? Remember when more than 80% of the country wanted the amnesty bill shot down they still voted for it and called us racists. They do not listen because they think they know more than we do or that they know what is best for us. The amazing thing is they won’t trust our judgment during their term until they run for office and then they trust us to put them back and they pander to us. Liberals act more liberal, conservatives act more conservative and when they go back they screw us.

Wayne Gilchrest of the 1st Congressional District in Maryland found out what happens when he votes his conscience and not the will of his constituents. He will be watching the general election from home this year. We need to vote all these people out of office. If they go against the majority of the people they represent then we need to get rid of them.

Anyone who says what Cleaver did should be out of office. The last thing I will ever need is a dim witted politician deciding for me. They can’t get their own stuff in order so I will be damned if I need them trying to get mine in order for me.

No thanks…

Maryland Legislative Hit List

The Maryland legislature has voted on the largest tax increase in state history and it looks like the tax increases will become law soon barring any unusual events in conference. WBAL radio has posted a list of the vote and how each Delegate and Senator voted. No Republicans voted for tax increases and some of the Democrats joined them.

However, since the Maryland legislature is loaded with Democrats the votes easily passed. I urge every citizen of Maryland to look at the list and make a not of their elected leaders who voted to increase taxes and then vote those people out of office in the next election. I am glad that those who voted for these politicians and that idiot Martin O’Malley will get to feel the immense pain of not being able to make ends meet but I also realize that we need to make the politicians hurt as well.

Look at the list, print it out and put it on the refrigerator so you will be reminded daily of the people who caused the pain. Get your anger intense by election day and make them pay.

Edwards Hears Boos at Mellencamp Concert

John Edwards was booed at a John Mellencamp concert after the singer paused the show to allow Edwards to come up and speak. He said a few cheesy words and there were tons of boos. Edwards made short work of the interruption and walked to a darkened corner of the stage and stayed there until the show started back up.

What a dolt. Haven’t these politicians and activist singers figured out yet that people, regardless of which political party the belong to, do not want to pay to hear the music at a concert and get an earful of politics. Politicians should pay people to listen to them, not the other way around.

Of course, given the size of John Edwards’ home, maybe he thought the song “Small Town” was about his residence.

About Faces; The Hillary Story

I know that people change their minds about things over the years and I do not expect a politicians, or anyone else for that matter, to hold the same views held 20 or 30 years ago. People change and their tastes change but that change is usually a gradual process. Hillary used to be a Republican and then when she went to College she morphed into a Democrat after all those years of Liberal brainwashing. The lady who Roe vs Wade was about is now against abortion and I am sure that people can find any number of positions that have changed over the years. That is the real key, that they change over years.

Hillary Rodham changes positions each week, sometimes each day and in the last debate she changed in two minutes. Hillary has not had some epiphany, she just says what she thinks people want to hear at the time. She will take a position on an issue when she is in one town and take another when she is in a different place. This worked really well 100 years ago when there was no instant transmission around the world. A politician could claim that he was misquoted in the other town and dupe people into giving their votes.

Hillary has taken many positions in all the time she was in her husband’s political shadow. One could not really fault her is she changed from an opinion held 15 or 20 years ago but this woman has changed positions since she entered the race. She has changed positions on the war, on Social Security, on ILLEGALS and any number of things and she has done so in order to get people to vote for her because getting in office and obtaining power is the most important thing to her. She does not care what people thing after she is in. She can change her mind, ignore promises and do what she damn well pleases and then lie about it when it is time to run again.

She will certainly get votes no matter what because there are people in this country who could not pour water out of a pail if the directions were written on the bottom. There are people who do not know who the Vice President is. There are people who can run 80 Bingo cards at once and cannot figure out a butterfly ballot. There are idiots living in this country and they all get to vote.

Here is a video put out by the John Edwards campaign showing the many faces of Hillary. When you view this, keep in mind that she has said these things since she became a presidential candidate. Better view it now because I do not know how long You Tube will keep it up. If it were put up by a Republican it would be gone already but since it was another donk, they might leave it alone.

If they put Hillary’s head on a coin it will have to be on both sides to reflect that she talks out of both sides of her mouth.

If they put a tail on the coin they couldn’t use hers, it wouldn’t fit. They would have to put her on paper money to pull it off.
