Ted Kennedy talks the liberal talk but when it comes down to it he is a typical do as I say hypocrite. First Kennedy opposed wind farms in Nantucket Sound because that is where he sails and because they might obstruct his view. Now Kennedy, champion of the environment, dumped diesel fuel in the coastal waters of his favorite sailing place.
A local photographer spotted an oil slick coming from Kennedy’s yacht Mya as Kennedy and his guests left the vessel in a launch following a race that ended in Hyannis, the Cape Cod Today newspaper reported.
The lensman was so shocked that he rowed his dinghy out to question the crew member left aboard the yacht.
He asked the crewman, “What the hell are you doing?”
The crewman said that diesel fuel had gotten into the bilge and he was told to dump it.
When the photographer pointed out that the yacht was moored in coastal waters near shellfish beds and people swimming, the crewman replied, “Whatever.” Newsmax
The crewman stated he was TOLD to dump the fuel and since it is Kennedy’s boat either Kennedy or someone in his family with the authority to take decisions with regard to the boat told this person to dump the fuel.
Kennedy is like most liberals in that causes are all well and good when they can be discussed on the campaign trail and when the consequences of actions are only felt by others. When it comes time to live by those principles then it is a different story. Kennedy did not want to be bothered by the fuel so he had it dumped in the water. Imagine how people at Exxon must feel knowing that the company paid a lot of money for the Valdez accident only to see that a US Senator deliberately dumped fuel in the water.
Do as I say and not as I do is typical for liberals. Dianne Feinstein wants to ban guns but obtained her own permit to carry one. Arianna Huffington, Al Gore, Leo DiCaprio and many others use private jets while claiming to be environmentalists. The list goes on but back to Kennedy.
Will the Coast Guard take action for this willful pollution? Will Kennedy be forced to pay a heavy fine for dumping fuel in this water? Will Kennedy resign over this? One can bet that if it were a Republican dumping fuel here (or anywhere) Kennedy would be all over it demanding a resignation and if it were a US company Kennedy would be demanding huge fines.
I am willing to bet that the MSM largely ignores this and that Kennedy lies makes an excuse for this. He will say it was an accident or he will fire the poor schmo who followed Uncle Ted’s orders.
