I Thought The Feds Handled The Border

The Arizona law has a lot of people in a snit. The opponents of the law that allows police officers to check the immigration status of anyone who has some interaction with police (a traffic stop, etc) continually mischaracterize the law and spread fear that it might lead to racial profiling.

This is hogwash but it has not stopped groups who advocate illegal activity from spreading the lies and the fear anyway. The Attorney General of the US, Eric Holder, is looking into challenging the Arizona law in court on Constitutional grounds. Holder, who did not read the law before condemning it (a common trait in the Obama regime), believes that enforcement of immigration laws is a federal government job and that states do not have the authority to enforce federal laws. As an aside, Arizona’s laws is a state law that makes it a crime to be in the state illegally. The only way to establish that is to check and see if people are in the country illegally.

This position is somewhat ridiculous. State and local police officers enforce federal laws all the time. Bank robbery is a federal crime but if a bank in any state is robbed the local police respond and have the authority to arrest the bank robbers. Can you imagine what would happen if FBI agents showed up and were told that the criminals were there with the police but they had no authority to enforce federal laws by arresting them so they let them go?

Kidnapping is a federal crime but state and local police respond to that crime. The same holds true for a number of crimes and no one seems to care that local officers are involved. For some reason though, people get uptight when the law deals with securing our borders or illegal immigration.

Surprisingly, Barack Obama has ordered 1200 National Guard troops to the border in Arizona (looks like the law is working) but has ignored a similar request from Texas. I don’t understand why Obama needs to give the order. If he takes charge of them they are not allowed to perform police functions. The NG belongs to the states so the governor of the state is in charge of them. If Texas or Arizona need Guardsmen on the borders then they should just deploy them. States have the right to keep people from crossing their borders illegally and if the governors deployed the NG then the soldiers could perform law enforcement functions. They could detain illegal entrants.

The federal government has been bellowing about the federal functions and how the security of the border is their job blah, blah. But an interesting thing happened today.

Texas was warned about the possibility of terrorists trying to enter the country illegally across the Mexico-Texas border. If stopping these illegal entrants is a federal job and the feds are the ones who should be enforcing their laws, why alert the local police? Why not send federal agents to guard the border and look for the terrorists?

One could make the argument that the state has the right to stop people at the border but that once they are here illegally the states have no authority to check immigration status or to detain people for being here illegally. Immigration being a federal job and all.

So if one of these terrorists crosses the border unseen but two days later an officer recognizes him from a photo, is the officer allowed to confront the guy and ask for identification? Can the officer check the immigration status of the terrorist?

If the answer is no then why alert Texas law enforcement and ask them to be on the lookout? If the answer is yes then why is the Arizona law wrong?

I have been thinking about the Arizona law and even though I have no problem I have a solution that will guarantee that no one is profiled. It will not please the left or any of the illegal immigrant groups who are aiding and abetting the criminals but it will work.

They should have immigration checkpoints. These would be just like sobriety checkpoints, would be random, would move from place to place and would require all people in every car that passes through the checkpoint to provide proof that they are here legally. Children would be considered legal if the adults in the car are legal.

The police could have cruisers set up to look for people who turn around to avoid the checkpoint. That would be probable cause to check their status.

The people who do not like Arizona’s law will not like the checkpoints but the courts have ruled sobriety checkpoints legal so long as they are random or everyone is checked. Illegal immigrant checkpoints are a great way to go. The law says that to check for immigration status the people have to make contact with police for some other reason first. No problem, just say the checkpoints are sobriety checkpoints and then ask everyone, and that is the key, for proof of status.

This could obviously be tweaked to work without violating the law or the Constitution.

The stops could also serve another purpose. Police could hand out literature explaining that there are sanctuary cities not far from Arizona and include a list of those cities and directions to get to them.

Arizona would be happy to send its illegals to California. Hell, the federal government will probably not take any referrals to ICE so Arizona might as well send the illegals where they are wanted.

As for Texas. It should tell the federal government to come look for the terrorist so that the state does not run afoul of federal immigration laws…

Never surrender, never submit.

This Is Why We Have An Illegal Immigrant Problem

The reason we have a problem with illegals running all over the place is that the federal government has refused to do its job. The federal government has few actual duties but one of them is to protect our nation. They are failing miserably in that duty and this failure goes back many decades and through many presidents.

We the People are sold a bill of goods each time this issue comes up. The Democrats want more people who will vote for them and the Republicans like the idea of a cheap source of labor so they both work to keep from closing the border. The problem is, they promise to close it each time they grant amnesty. They say that we will never again need to grant amnesty because the laws will be enforced and the border secured. Then they ignore it until 10 million new Democrat voting cheap labor illegals file back in and the cycle starts over.

The people are tired of it and are holding politicians accountable. The governor of Arizona signed a bill into law that will allow the state to legally investigate and check the status of any person believed to be in the state illegally. There are strict provisions in the bill requiring that the person already be in contact with law enforcement for another infraction of the law and the list of documents that prove legal status is extensive. But this has not stopped the morons on the left from yelling about racial profiling and how the law might be abused.

These morons are OK with immigration laws being abused by illegal immigrants with the help of the Mexican government (all the way up to and including the president of Mexico) but are worried that this law might be abused.

It is so bad now that the federal government has indicated that it might not process illegal immigrants that are referred from Arizona. That is right folks, the same people who are ignoring the illegal immigrant problem will ignore the state of Arizona when it refers illegals to Immigration because the feds do not like the Arizona law:

“I don’t think the Arizona law, or laws like it, are the solution,” [John] Morton told the newspaper.

The best way to reduce illegal immigration is through a comprehensive federal approach, he said, and not a patchwork of state laws. FOX News

Mr. Morton (remove the ‘t’ in his last name and it is more accurate) does not think that the Arizona law or ones like it are the solution. What he thinks is the solution has not been done by the federal government and it is not likely to be done by the federal government as long as there are votes to be had and illegals to pander to. To demonstrate further stupidity, Morton will ignore illegals referred by Arizona. How can ignoring referrals make things BETTER?

The referrals would not make things worse. They would represent people caught here illegally and who could be sent home thus making the job of the feds easier.

No Mr. Morton, the answer is not federal government inaction and waffling. What will it take before you people decide that you should do your job? What will it take until you secure the border and start dealing with the illegals?

As for Arizona, they should just keep illegals in jail until Immigration picks them up. If the feds don’t show then those people will be in jail for a long time.

Better yet, take them to LA and drop them off. Maybe Arizona could dump them all off in DC somewhere around where all the politicians live. I am sure they will not mind the illegals there and most of them probably need yard work done…

Here is a message for Obama and the rest of the federal government”

Rapist Was Deported Four Times

UPDATE: Make that NINE times:

The KING 5 Investigators have learned that an illegal immigrant accused of raping a woman in Edmonds Sunday has been deported nine times. That’s much more than previously reported.

A man who raped a woman in Washington was deported four times in the last 15 years. A police officer heard a woman screaming for help and when he went to where she was he found Jose Madrigal on top of the woman and arrested him. She claims that he offered her money for sex and when she told him no he forced her into the bushes behind a store.

Madrigal is being held on a rape charge and is also being held for Immigration. If this puke is released to be deported before he is tried for the rape then the people who deport him should be put in jail in his place.

This would never have happened if we enforced our immigration laws. If the federal government was doing its job then this guy would not be here but since our government is lax in this area, a woman suffers the horrible fate of being raped by him.

People wonder why a huge majority of people in this country stand with Arizona in its fight to combat illegal immigration. We are tired of these criminals coming here and attacking our families. We need to put this punk in jail for the rest of his life and we need to secure our borders so people like him are kept out. If you live in a sanctuary city and are happy with that idea or you favor open borders then you are part of the problem. You, Barack Obama and all the other people who allow these people to come here unabated are just as responsible for this rape as the man who actually committed the act.

No one could blame this woman’s husband or father if either eliminated the vile piece of crap who did this.

Tell Calderon this is one of the reasons that Arizona is right and why he needs to get his country’s affairs in order.

Never surrender, never submit.

Fighting Back

The new immigration law in Arizona has the panties of liberals tied up in knots and they spare nothing to tell us how evil the law is and how it might lead to racial profiling. Ignoring the fact that Hispanic (the group most concerned) is not a race, why is a law bad because it might lead to an undesired consequence? All laws COULD have consequences we do not like but we handle them as they occur. If a police officer profiles a person illegally then the officer should suffer the consequences. We cannot ignore the people actually breaking the law because those who enforce the law might also break the law. How about we give the benefit of the doubt to the people who are enforcing the law instead of those breaking it?

The most disturbing thing about this is that many of the people in Obama’s regime who have spoken against the law have not read it.

The president of Mexico, Felipe Calderon, is not happy with the law because it cracks down on the people he sends here and he views this as bad, as if he has a say in the matter.

Obama showed solidarity with his guest of honor, Mexican President Felipe Calderon, who called Arizona’s law discriminatory and warned Mexico would reject any effort to “criminalize migration.” The United States and Mexico share a significant economic and political relationship that stands to be damaged the more the nations are at odds over immigration, which affects millions of people on both sides of the border. My Way News

This guy is doing the same thing that all the proponents of the invasion of illegals do and that is refer to illegals entering this country as migration or immigration. It is neither of these, it is ILLEGAL entry into our country. It is that simple.

Calderon is right when he says this affects millions on both sides of the border. However, he gives the impression that Americans are somehow affected when they sneak into Mexico. We know that millions of Americans are not illegally entering Mexico. Millions of Mexicans are however, coming here. He is right because the law will affect millions of illegal aliens by getting rid of them and it will affect millions of Americans because they will not be bothered by all the crime and the drain on our economy. Calderon wants his Mexican amigos to come here because they send billions of dollars back to his country. He does not care if the people sending the money are in America illegally as long as they continue to send money to Mexico.

Besides, who is Calderon to oppose this law and why do we care if he opposes it? He needs to go back to Mexico and clean up that craphole he has for a country and mind is own business. He has NO say so, to put it politely, shut up.

Some cities in America are boycotting Arizona because they would rather side with lawbreakers than with a sovereign state. I think there will be serous fallout from this because there are many more Americans who oppose illegal entry and who will begin to boycott companies based in cities that boycott Arizona. Those cities had better understand that the illegals will not be the ones keeping companies afloat.

Arizona is fighting back in its own way. The city of Los Angeles voted to end some contracts with Arizona. The contracts total about 7 million dollars which might hurt the state a little but Arizona might decide to end a contract of its own. Arizona power companies supply LA with about 25% of its electricity. There is a threat to end that contract and cut power to LA. This would be devastating to LA because it consumes a great deal of power and would likely suffer blackouts.

Good for Arizona. Next thing Arizona should do is end the contracts it has for holding California criminals in Arizona jails. Then the state could place those criminals in buses and ship them back to California. I recommend dropping them off in LA.

While they are at it, perhaps police in Arizona should place pamphlets (written in Spanish) in all places where illegals would likely do business. The pamphlets would inform them of the cities in California that are sanctuary cities and give them directions on how to get to each of them.

It is time for Arizona to fight back and that means it is time for those of us fed up with illegal aliens to fight alongside them.

Never surrender, never submit.

John McCain’s Principled Immigration Stance

Of course the title of this post is sarcastic because John McCain, Mr. Straight Talk, is not talking the same straight talk he was back when immigration reform was a hot button issue. When George Bush wanted to grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens John McCain was on board with the entire process. The uproar from the citizens of this country is the only thing that kept Congress from granting amnesty to millions of law breakers.

Back then McCain did not have a care in the world and he was courting the Hispanic population (how did that work out for you John) he could claim he was a Maverick and that he did not toe the party line. Yes, that was then but now he is singing a different story. Perhaps it is because he has watched as incumbents from both parties were voted out in their primaries. More likely it is because he is in a very tight race for his Senate seat and he might just lose.

It is not hard to see that McCain is in a tight race because his whole stance on illegal immigration has changed. Back when McCain was courting the illegal vote he told an interviewer that he did not think a fence was the way to go but if they (those opposed to illegals) want a fence I’ll build the G-d damned thing. Now he is a big proponent for the fence. His latest ad has him walking along with a law enforcement officer and McCain blames illegals for all the bad things taking place (much of which is true) and then says we need to build the danged fence. The viewer is left with a warm and fuzzy feeling as the officer says you’re one of us.

McCain was not one of us when he was working very hard trying to get amnesty for the lawbreakers. McCain was not one of us when he was shunning the idea of a fence and he was not one of us when he was working with the left and all the La Raza types to reward criminals (all the time ignoring the will of a huge majority of citizens). No, McCain became one of us when he saw a challenger with a good chance of beating him. McCain is trying to be one of us now that Arizona has passed a tough law against illegal immigration, a law that about 70% of the state’s legal population approves of. John McCain can see that if 70% approve of this law then he had better try to appear anti illegal and hope that no one remembers his past position on the issue if he wants to have a chance to be reelected.

It is time for John McCain to go. In fact it is well past time for him to go. I think he would have been a better president than the guy we have now but mostly because he has leadership experience and has actually sacrificed for this country. And McCain would not have been as radical as Obama.

Having said that, there is not much difference between the two of them in most other regards.

I predict that McCain will lose the primary. The people in Arizona are going to look at the commercial and laugh at tough guy McCain and his supposed stance on illegal immigration.

RINOs are in as much trouble as the Democrats.
