Obama To Republicans; Stop Trying To Frighten Americans

Members of both parties met with Barack Obama at the White House and he told the Republicans; “Stop trying to frighten the American people.”

President Barack Obama told House Republican leaders to “stop trying to frighten the American people” even as he and Democrats said they see a possibility for bipartisan cooperation on job creation legislation. The Hill

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) said that Republicans are telling constituents the truth and that is far from trying to frighten them. Boehner made it clear that he and fellow Republicans are telling people what is happening and what will happen under the plans being pushed by Democrats.

Of course Obama does not like this because the truth stands in the way of his agenda to radically change America into a Socialist nation.

No, it is not Republicans who are trying to frighten people, it is in fact, the Democrats.

We must pass the stimulus NOW or we might not be able to recover. We must pass cap and trade NOW or the oceans will rise and drown us all. We must pass health care NOW or evil doctors and insurance companies will take advantage of people and we have to stop the thousands of people from dying in the streets. We must, we must, we must, it comes from Obama and his sock puppets and the intent is to frighten people into going along with what he wants. Everything is urgent because he does not want to let a crisis go to waste.

The latest fear mongering comes from the White House with regard to cap and trade. This week, the EPA stated that it will regulate CO2 and other greenhouse gases. This is widely seen as a bad thing because the EPA will make things costly with moronic rules regulating the gas every mammal exhales. Obama has warned that Congress had better get on cap and trade and pass it or the EPA will act. This is a threat and it is fear mongering.

The Obama administration is warning Congress that if it doesn’t move to regulate greenhouse gases, the Environmental Protection Agency will take a “command-and-control” role over the process in way that could hurt business. Fox News

I am certain that this whole episode was well orchestrated by the White House to prod Congress, particularly the Democrats, into doing something on the cap and trade issue. There was no incentive to actively pursue the issue because it is unpopular, will cost more, will lead to higher unemployment, and will have little effect and the upcoming year is an election year. Democrats do not want to mess with this because they have to run for reelection and this issue is one that could sink them. Couple it with the extremely unpopular health care bills and you have a recipe for disaster for Democrats next November.

Obama wants it and this EPA ruse is a way to get Congress to act. Of course, Congress is the law making body. It could make a law saying the EPA cannot regulate greenhouse gases. It could defund the agency or pass a law disbanding it. Obama would be powerless to stop any of it. If Congressional Democrats feel that they are being pressured they might just do one of these things and that would be fine with me.

Get rid of the EPA. It is an unconstitutional agency that has way too much power. If Congress is not going to get rid of it then it can take some of the power away. Either would be an appropriate response.

But the entire issue is all about frightening the American people and putting pressure (under threat of EPA action) on Congress.

So perhaps Obama should look in the mirror because the reflection is the person to whom the admonishment should go.

The Crisis Isn’t That Bad After All

Barack Obama was Chicken Little with regard to the economic downturn. He said it was a crisis and that we needed to act now or we might not be able to recover. He told Congress that they had to act now to pass his bill because time was of the essence. They passed it quickly, without reading it, and then he waited four days to sign it. So much for time being of the essence.

It is well known that Rahm Emanuel said that they could not let a crisis go to waste. He said a crisis was the time to push through things that you would not usually be able to get. And that is exactly what the Democrats have done. Barack Obama has spent a trillion dollars on a pork laden “stimulus” bill that does little to create meaningful, long lasting jobs, and it does little to stimulate the economy. The slide downward of the stock market is evidence of the lack of confidence in his policies.

But there was a good crisis to use and after they spent a trillion dollars that has yet to be earned, they passed an omnibus bill to clear up what they neglected last year. The bill had 9000 earmarks in it which means they wasted even more money. The crisis was there and they needed to get their pet projects out there before things started to recover. Once the crisis is over they might have trouble getting all that they want because the public will be more attentive.

Looks like Obama must have gotten all he figures he will be able to because he told executives at a Business Round Table that the crisis is “not as bad as we thought.”

It is not as bad as HE and HIS Democrats said it was. Most others recognized that it was bad but that it was not as bad as past recessions and that we could recover without spending a future generation’s wealth. Obama sounded the crisis klaxon and spent a lot very quickly to get what he wanted. Interestingly, he had this to say:

“I don’t think things are ever as good as they say, or ever as bad as they say,” Obama added. “Things two years ago were not as good as we thought because there were a lot of underlying weaknesses in the economy. They’re not as bad as we think they are now.”

As bad as THEY say? You were the one saying it was bad Barack. A lot of us knew it was not as bad as you were saying and that the hype was designed to get what you wanted even if it was not in the best interests of this country. You, Mr. Obama, were the one screaming that the world was ending and using FEAR, a tactic you criticized Bush for, to get what you wanted. It certainly seems as if you thought it was as bad as they said because you sure acted like it.

I hope this little confession of yours hits home with the mindless drones who hang on your every word. In case they have trouble let me help them.

If Obama screams about crisis in the future and says we need to act now or that if we wait we might not be able to recover, IT IS NOT AS BAD AS HE IS MAKING IT SOUND.

By his own admission he does not think things are as bad as people say they are. Apply the same standard to him and when he says things are bad, it is a crisis and that we must act now just remember that it is not as bad as he says.

It wasn’t as bad as he made it out to be when he was pushing for trillion dollar spending and it will not be as bad as they say when they are looking for another stimulus.

Keep in mind, they need a crisis to get what they want without having to use pesky little things like procedure. They manufactured the crisis part of the economic downturn for political gain and they will do it again when they want to spend more of our children’s and grandchildren’s futures.

Crisis management is the hallmark of Obama and his administration.

Barack Obama And The Politics Of Fear

No Fear

During the 2004 election Democrats accused George Bush and Republicans of using fear to get the country to vote for them. Bush was reelected and the cries of fear mongering from the left continued. Barack Obama accused Bush of being a fear monger as well. The Democrats made snide comments when the threat level was raised or when elections approached. As the 2004 and 2006 elections drew near Democrats were asking when he threat level would be raised. The insinuation, of course, is that Bush would do that to scare people into voting Republican. During the campaign Obama said:

“They’re trying to fool you. They’re trying to scare you and they’re not telling the truth,” a fired-up Obama declared while campaigning in South Dakota. “But it’s not going to work.”

“Both Bush and McCain represent the failed foreign policy and fear mongering of the past,” Obama said. “I believe the American people are ready to reject this approach and to choose the future.NY Daily News [emphasis mine]

This was not the only time that fear mongering was raised as an issue. Bush as a fear monger has been part of their overall message for years and the results of the last election confirm that it was effective. The results also show we have a lot of morons who vote (that and the videos showing people who knew absolutely nothing about the election – see the videos bottom sidebar).

One could certainly accept Obama’s words on this as how he truly felt (or feels) if he acted in a way that supported the conclusion. But, Obama has resorted to the politics of fear to get something accomplished. Barack Obama is fear mongering about the stimulus bill and the economy in order to garner support for it from the public.

President Barack Obama warned on Thursday that failure to act on an economic recovery package could plunge the nation into a long-lasting recession that might prove irreversible, a fresh call to a recalcitrant Congress to move quickly. Yahoo News

“A failure to act, and act now, will turn crisis into a catastrophe and guarantee a longer recession, a less robust recovery, and a more uncertain future,” Obama said in his prepared remarks. Breitbart

Barack Obama is using fear, or fear mongering, in order to scare people into supporting the crap sandwich he and the Democrats are trying to feed us. The bill contains almost nothing for stimulus and a lot of liberal projects that have nothing to do with the economy. The liberals who think it will work are delusional. Those who think that the majority of the items in the bill will stimulate the economy are devoid of brain cells and rational thought.

Money Burn

But make no mistake, Barack Obama, who said that fear mongering was part of a failed policy, is using fear to promote a failed attempt at a stimulus plan. This is a direct contradiction of his stated opposition to the past administration and it directly conflicts with what he said he would do when he told us people were ready to reject this approach and to choose the future. It should come as no surprise that Obama changed his tune. He has been in office for a little more than two weeks and he has changed (broken) many of his promises.

He promised transparency but he has chosen not to post some items to the White House website like he said he would. He is so transparent that his Birth Certificate is locked up tighter than Fort Knox so that people cannot verufy his status. He said that bills were run through Congress too fast and that he would post them on the WH website for five days before he signed them so the American public could review them. He has already signed at least one bill into law that was not posted and he is begging Congress to run the stimulus bill through Congress as quickly as possible.

Obama promised he would have the most ethical administration and we have seen four of his nominees plagued with tax problems. He said he would have no lobbyists and the last list I saw showed a dozen of them. It seems that every day he is granting a waiver of his ethical orders in order to get people on board.

Barack Obama is not keeping his word or as the Democrats use to say about Bush, he is lying. He has had a rough start and each day shows more and more his lack of leadership skills. He is a rookie and he is getting his head handed to him.

Obama will likely not get to his aggressive agenda anytime soon and that will tick off the moonbats who support him. He is going to be tied up with a bill that has fierce opposition and is not going to pass as quickly as he would have liked, if at all. It looks like this might have to be a do over if it is to have any chance of getting to his desk.

Obama is expending a lot of time and effort on defending the bill when he knows that it is losing support and contains too much pork. A leader would call the parties together and say that they were starting from scratch and then they would work out a compromise. A true leader would ensure the bill contained only items that would have an effect on the economy and would ensure the nonsense is cut from it.

Instead Obama, who promised no Washington politics as usual, is allowing his Democrats to play politics as usual and allowing himself to be played by them. That and he still supports it as the be all end all of stimulus packages. He believes that it will work and that it should be passed and he will scare you into believing it as well.

Bush was accused of fear mongering but what he did was in response to threats to this country. No attacks since 9/11 though many have been attempted.

Obama is using fear to get a bill passed quickly so that he can look like he is in charge.

The more people see, the less confidence they have in the bill. We need to keep the bright, white hot spotlight on them to keep them disorganized and at each other. We need to defeat this bill.

So far we are succeeding. If we fail our grandchildren and their children will be paying for this.

Now that is something that should scare you to death.
