Bill Keller, It’s The Law!

There’s sometimes a vindictive tone in way they talk about dragging reporters before grand juries and in the hints that reporters who look too hard into the public’s business risk being branded traitors.
Hey Bill, this is not the public’s business. They are called secrets because one would expect that the information is going to be kept, well, secret. The reason we have secrets (among others) is to keep the enemy from knowing how we are hunting them down. It would seem that you have no regard for the laws that are designed to protect the secrets and, to me, such disregard is traitorous!
It is amazing to me that you and the rest of your liberal partners in crime were circling like sharks in bloody water during the Plame investigation and you all wanted to see someone go to jail for outing a so-called covert agent and yet in the same breath expect to be excused for leaking actual secrets. The law applies to the leaker and to those who give out or expose the information if they know it is classified. The reporters knew the information was classified so they broke the law!
