You Can Put Lipstick On A Pig And Obama Will Marry It

Barack Obama, for all his gifts (and he has many) is prone to revert back to being a thug from Chicago when times get tough. We saw this in the primaries when he did the dust off on Hillary and when he said when they bring a knife you bring a gun (though I agree with that when it is a real fight). Ordinarily Obama is pretty cool and collected and he does not let things get to him and when they do he sends out surrogates to make attacks. Sarah Palin seems to have shaken the Chicago thug and he has begun to come unglued. He is down in the polls, his money raising efforts are not what he thought they would be and the PUMAs are against him (Hillary supporters are not sending him much money).

Today Obama was giving a stump speech and said “You can put lipstick on a pig but it is still a pig.” He also said “You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It’s still gonna stink.”

Now the pig statement is an old saying and people can draw the conclusion that this is what he meant. If that is the case then he is not as bright as everyone thinks. You see, Palin made her lipstick comment during her speech so Obama’s statement is naturally going to be linked to her. I know that Obama knew it would be but that he could use the other meaning to mask the fact that he called Sarah Palin a pig. Anyone who believes that Obama could not have known the connection would be drawn is a moron. Obama is a smart and calculated man and he knew exactly what he was saying. The fact that Palin is a woman would be a clue as to whom people though he was referring. This is an extension of the sexism he displayed in the primary and that his surrogates and media branch have been demonstrating since Palin was announced.

As for the fish comment. Was he saying old fish as a jab at McCain’s age but disguising it as a reference to policy? Was it a slam at Palin as a vulgar reference to a certain part of the female anatomy? Obama has enough of the hood in him to be that vulgar and to be that crass. For all of his gifts, Obama is nothing more than a two bit thug from Chicago when he gets riled. He acts like he is in the hood and he ghettos it up when he is under attack.

Obama is afraid of Palin and he has already whined about being picked on by a girl. I think that Saracuda will hit him even harder and have him crying uncle.

If anyone should know about pigs in lipstick I assume it would be Obama. Michelle wears lipstick, does she not?

What is it about Democrats and kinky lipstick fetishes? First you had Bill Clinton with lipstick on his dipstick and now we have Obama putting lipstick on a pig. That is probably how he got a date for the prom.

Yeah, you can take the boy out of the hood but you can’t take the hood out of the boy.

Offended by the word boy? It is just a variation of a common saying

UPDATE:
It seems that some Democrats are in agreement with me:

Some Democrats concede privately that Mr Obama’s choice of words was crass at a time when Mrs Palin’s lipstick joke was being replayed endlessly on news channels. Timesonline UK

  1. Patrick Cunningham says:

From a Chicago Tribune story of last October:

“McCain criticized Democratic contenders for offering what he called costly universal health care proposals that require too much government regulation. While he said he had not studied Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton’s health-care plan, he said it was ‘eerily reminiscent’ of the failed plan she offered as first lady in the early 1990s.

“‘I think they put some lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig,’ he said of her proposal.”

  2. Big Dog says:

Right, so when McCain talked specifically about a health care plan and then said I think they put some lipstick on a pig, he was talking about Hillary how? And how many in the audience sneered at the word lipstick?

Also, when did Hillary mention lipstick so we could draw the comparison.

As I stated, it is a common phrase. The way Obama used it he meant it to be associated with Palin.

  3. Bill says:

There is no doubt what Obama was really saying and whom he was saying it about. If he didn’t think people would be offended, then he showed poor judgment. If he didn’t realize it might be offensive, then he is stupid. Neither are qualities we should be looking for in our next president. Way to go after the female vote Barry! Way to be that new kind of politician who was going to raise the level of debate in this country to a new, more civilized level. Does he remember blowing his own horn about that? He’s proven without a doubt that he is, ironically, what “Rev” Wright said he is, a typical politician who will say whatever he needs to say to get elected. And without a doubt he has proven that behind all the so-called “polish” he is nothing more than a punk and thug.

Stop the spin…common…why the fear…Is it fair to say that the country that has the most universities in the world, most advanced or so we hope to think, is paralysed with fear because a man that is biracial is running for the office of presidency? They would rather risk Mrs Palin, really? McCain could very well pass away, then what? Can you see her with other heads of state, say Putin? I cringe, I am embarrased that McCain even chose her. Are Americans the only ones who have not caught on that we are not the big dogs in the world any more? Please, wake up, people. I cannot imagine how much more ground we can loose in the our dealings with the outside world. If the Olympics opening ceremony did not show us how much the other countries have advanced, I dont know what will.
I was for the Republicans when Bush got in because I am a Christian and agree on his values….but even we Christians make mistakes and our veiled racism is really loosing ground for the church. Fear…fear is a bad thing….

    Liz,
I’ll tell you what I fear-it is a nation with a huge percentage of people who are not getting informed on the issues and just exactly what this man Barak believes and proposes for this nation and instead go around accusing people of racism.
    Cal Thomas on Obama–
Obama’s view of government is classic liberal
paternalism: “… what (the American people) are
looking for is somebody who can solve their problems
… who will tell them the truth about how we’re
going to bring down gas prices, how we’re going to
bring back jobs,” he told Wallace.
No president can solve my problems, or bring
down gas prices (those are set by market forces) or
create jobs, other than more government jobs. In all
of Obama’s impressive rhetorical skills, there is nothing
about the role of the individual, only the role of
    big government
    Ann Coulter on–
    “Dreams From My Father.”
Has anybody read this book? Inasmuch as the
book reveals Obama to be a flabbergasting lunatic, I
gather the answer is no. Obama is about to be our
next president: You might want to take a peek. If
only people had read “Mein Kampf” …
Nearly every page — save the ones dedicated to
cataloguing the mundane details of his life — is bristling
with anger at some imputed racist incident. The
last time I heard this much race-baiting invective I
was … in my usual front-row pew, as I am every Sunday
morning, at Trinity United Church of Christ in
    Chicago.
    Definition of socialism:
Under socialism a ruling class of intellectuals, bureaucrats and social planners decide what people want or what is good for society and then use the coercive power of the State to regulate, tax, and redistribute the wealth of those who work for a living. In other words, socialism is another word for legalized theft.

I believe myself to be a Christian also, and it is our duty as Christians to vote into office qualified candidates who know how to lead and protect this country and the last I knew the color of a persons skin was not a part of the criteria.

  7. Bill Jones says:

Well, it’s official. I’m convinced now (from Obama’s response this morning) that the whole thing was a planned political move. Well played to be sure, but planned none the less. He is doing now exactly what he did, and what worked so well for him in the primary. He steps in some s*** and then he plays the VICTIM. Is it not obvious to everyone now?

  8. Reason says:

    @Liz Evans:

Wow Liz…why does the left hate this country so much? Are you so filled with self loathing that you take such positions? If so why do you continue to live here, wouldn’t the socialist nations of Europe and their policies be more in line with what the left wants? Maybe even Canada…oh wait they favor gun ownership.

Not the “big dogs of the world anymore”…again with the hatred and loathing of our nation’s military & economic power. Granted the policies and ideals of many of the Baby Boomers (I, ME, NOW Generation) who were rebelling against their parent’s (the Great Generation) values and morals have done a lot of damage to our nation and its economy. We went from a nation of people who were generally frugal, knew what it meant to sacrifice for family and country, and knew what real hardship was to a nation of spoiled children who live beyond their means, are swimming in debt, and lacking in family and community values. They also hate their heritage, culture, their nation, and those who believe in the USA. The Boomers are now passing those screwed up views of life on to their children at a time where they enjoy more wealth and prosperity than any other nation in the world and any previous generation of American.

I could give a rats ass about Obama’s skin color, his policies are terrible, and history has shown that they are failures. Even “The One” has admitted that raising taxes will hurt our economy, yet he will do so anyway. His foreign policy has been tried by Carter and it didn’t work. Anyone who is not a complete idiot knows that bargaining from a position of strength is always best.

You know there are some days I truly wish the Moonbats would move to Europe and leave this country to the folks that want to keep it the great nation that it is. If you aren’t proud of America GTFO, and that doesn’t mean those who don’t agree with the current people in office, but the Moonbats who seem to hate everything America is and stands for yet enjoys her fruits and freedoms.

  9. Big Dog says:

    Liz,
His color makes no difference to me. I don’t like his policies or political beliefs.

I did not like Giuliani for the same reason. What does that make me now?

  10. Adam says:

You know he wasn’t calling Palin a pig or even referring to her at all. The whole story, the ad, everything…it’s a crock of bull and a big pack of lies. If you don’t believe me let the fine folks at politifact clue you in.

I love how you carry the made up talking point about this from the McCain campaign and then you turn around and launch an attack on Michelle Obama over it. Shame on you.

  11. Big Dog says:

    @Adam:
He had to have known how it would be perceived. His own followers were chanting no more pit bulls. They understood what was said and how it was meant.

Let us suppose though, that he did not mean it that way. It was a poor choice of words and if he is as bright as people say he is then he knew what reference people would draw from it.

I have launched attacks on Michelle Obama before. I did not need this to do it. I have her words about pride in this country to allow me to know what kind of militant America hater she is.

  12. JG says:

For the real scoop on the poop (sic) about this issue read: “Lipstick on a Pig: Winning In the No-Spin Era by Someone Who Knows the Game (Hardcover)” (Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Lipstick-Pig-Winning-No-Spin-Someone/dp/0743271165 ). This book was written by Torie Clarke, a one-time John McCain advisor! One reviewer, who liked the book, mentions something about Keating Five and John McCain. Was lipstick used on that pig?

  13. Big Dog says:

McCain was the only Republican involved in the Keating Five. He was not found guilty of anything except bad judgment. He and John Glenn were not the ones who got in trouble and the belief is McCain was included to add a Republican tot he entirely Democratic field.

  15. Reason says:

@Adam: I’d have agreed with the position that he was using a common expression until I saw the footage of the speech.

Its not his words but his delivery that make it obvious he was referring to Palin.

He said: “You can put lipstick on a pig… [pause, smirk, and wait for laughter/cheer] but its still a pig.”

It wasn’t a pause because the laughter/cheers interrupted him it was the same kind of pause you see comedians use in their acts when they are waiting for someone to make a connection. That’s not the behavior I expect from the CIC and leader of our nation, leave such things to the late night talk show hosts and comedians.

  16. Schatzee says:

I have to agree with Reason. When I first read the story I was wondering “what’s the big deal” since it is a common phrase that I have heard before. But when I actually heard the clip and the crowd and its response – that sinched it for me that he was indeed slinging that at Palin. I am sure she doesn’t care about his little dig but if he was man enough to say it he should at least be man enough to admit his intention.
