Will Sharpton Require Clinton to Quit?

The Reverend Al Sharpton, our aging antisemitic race baiting poverty pimp makes a name for himself by going after white folks who say things that he thinks are racist. He recently got himself involved in the business of the Golf Channel when one of their female reporters used the word “lynch” while discussing Tiger Woods. Woods took no offense and said it was a dead issue but Sharpton started in. The reporter got 14 days off.

Then of course, there was the Don Imus incident where he referred to a women’s basketball team as a bunch of “nappy headed hos”, a remark that brought Sharpton out in full force. Imus went on Sharpton’s radio show and applied his pursed labia to Sharpton’s ample gluteals but that was all for nothing because Sharpton raised a stink and CBS fired Imus rather than risk losing sponsors to a Sharpton protest and Jew killing spree.

This leads me to Bill Clinton. It is no secret that the Clintons know how to play dirty politics. For all their crying and whining about Republican dirty tricks, the Clintons sure know a few themselves. The Clinton campaign, and particularly Bill, has been engaged in covert racism with regard to Barack Obama. Now they can say that they meant something else and all that but their pattern is to put it out there and apologize after it has had a chance to fester. When Hillary got her head handed to her in South Carolina Bill compared Obama to Jesse Jackson and though it was reported to be an off-the-cuff remark, it appeared as if he was saying; “It was just a brother getting support from the other blacks.” It was seen as minimizing Obama. Before anyone takes me to task, I don’t care what they say and I am happy that Democrats are finally getting a taste of how it feels to be accused of being a racist for a minimal or harmless remark.

Having said that, I also know that perception is often reality and the black community found the comments offensive. Don Imus made a great point when he said that if he had made the Jackson comment he would be before Sharpton again. That is a true comment. If Imus, or any other white person (especially a Republican) had made the Jackson comment Sharpton would be out inciting riots and getting Jews killed. But since Bill Clinton said it, it is ignored by the race baiter.

If Sharpton were consistent (he is in it for the money and nothing else) he would be demanding that Bill Clinton be removed from the campaign and then demand that Hillary drop out. He would threaten her donors (sponsors, if you will) with all kinds of ugly things and he would be telling us that there would be blacks protesting in all states to keep Hillary from winning. In short, he would be giving them the same treatment he gave the reporter and Imus.

Instead, it is ignored or if Sharpton had an opinion he expressed it and moved on. He did not make the demands that he makes of others who dare to offend him and his black sensitivities.

On ABC’s “The View,” Sharpton said voters are hearing “race charges, race-tinged rhetoric” in the Democratic primary campaign, and called on the former president to cease.
~snip~
Sharpton didn’t say which comments in particular bothered him. But many Democrats were particularly upset that the former president made an explicit comparison of Obama’s campaign to Jesse Jackson’s victories in South Carolina in 1984 and 1988, in an apparent attempt to explain why his wife didn’t win the South Carolina primary on Saturday. ABC Political Radar

As this item from ABC shows, he was bothered by the racial part of it but he just told Bill to shut up. He did not give Imus that rebuke. Instead he helped get him fired.

Maybe Sharpton has left Bill alone because Hillary is constantly on his case and riding his butt hard about every little thing. Maybe Bill gets a free ride because his wife is a nagger…

He told Clinton to “Shut up” in those words. It’s about time someone told him this…although AL just wants to be the race baiter and doesn’t want to share this role with the Clintons.

Don Imus does not need to be chiming in about any of this. He said a stupid racist thing and he paid for it. If Don Imus could come even the slightest bit close to what the Clinton’s have done for the African American community then maybe he wouldn’t have gotten his ass handed to him over his stupid mouth.

Sharpton understands the difference between racist statements and statements that have been blown up by the media, by Clinton opponents, or by the Obama campaign. The main people making a big deal about these statements are not the Black community or even the Obama campaign but instead douchebags like Sean Hannity. Sharpton has gone as far as to say pretty much shut up, watch what you say, because you’re going too far.

The charity Don Imus runs is open to all children, not just black ones. Are you saying that if a person has a history of doing good things for the black community then it is OK to make a racist remark at times? Clinton made the Jackson comment and Imus is right, if he had said it he would be getting dressed down by Sharpton.

Yes, he said a stupid thing. Many people say stupid things. As I recall, it was Sharpton who called the Jews diamond merchants and called white people white interlopers. Sharpton did not go after Obama for saying he would need to see Bill dance before he could decide if he were the first black president and he did not go after Jackson for saying hymietown. Is that OK or should they lose their jobs. BTW, no one died when Imus said his stupid thing but people died when Sharpton stirred up the crowd.

I don’t think that these have been blown up by the media. Not when exit polls say that blacks were offended and when black politicians are saying that Bill injected race into the campaign. Perception is often reality so if it was perceived as racist then it was in the minds of those who perceived it that way.

And to be clear, Sharpton does not know a racist remark when he hears one. He knows the sound of a cash register when he wants to trump something up. Imus apologized and said it was an off the cuff remark and that he did not mean it to be bad. He has every right to make the comment about the Jackson statement by Bill. People say stupid things and that is why they make apologies.

    About the Imus ranch:

For seven days, each child is expected to perform chores and tasks as if they were a cowboy, such as caring for all the needs of a horse to gain self-esteem. The ranch operates all year but hosts children only when school is not in session. Nearly half the children are from minority groups and 10% are black.

The days begin at 6:15 a.m., when the children begin their round of chores, such as feeding the various animals scattered around the ranch. After breakfast, half of the children do ranch chores, including planting, watering and gathering eggs, while the others proceed to the barn, where they begin the process of muck removal before grooming, bridling and saddling the horses for a two-hour ride. After lunch and an hour break for swimming or napping, the children switch projects. After dinner, they have about 90 minutes to play board games or pool before lights out at 9 p.m.[3]

During the summer months, Imus would broadcast his nationally syndicated radio program, Imus in the Morning, from a studio at the Ranch. Occasionally, children attending the Ranch would appear on the program, prior to its cancellation in April, 2007.

Clinton did not make racist remarks, period. His statements have been distorted and spun by media and campaign politics. Yes, perception can be realty and it’s turned off many people to see it, but Clinton gets a pass in this instance(at least from Sharpton) because of his history in the African American community. Bill Clinton didn’t call anybody nappy headed hoes, so Don Imus has no bearing on this subject.

  6. Big Dog says:

It is not a matter of him having bearing, he is absolutely correct that if he had made the comment Sharpton would be on the warpath again. That is a plain and simple fact.

OK, Bill Clinton made no more of a racist remark than Trent Lott did. What say you?

  8. Adam says:

Lott is a good example to bring up. I would argue that had Lott not had a history of questionable actions toward the African American community, maybe he wouldn’t have had to step down from his leadership role.

Instead here is a guy who has ties to racist organizations, voted against the MLK holiday, didn’t want to renew the Voting Rights Act, and many other things. Maybe he didn’t mean his statements to convey his support for segregation, but with a past like his, it was the last straw for many people…

Don’t get me wrong though. I won’t pretend like every case of somebody getting run out of town over so called racist remarks was with good reason. But what Imus did to lose his job and what Bill Clinton has done are so far from each other that it’s really grasping…

  9. Big Dog says:

If Sharpton is going to be the voice of the black people he should be equal in his anger.

Why do you suppose Sharpton or anyone never goes after Byrd, the KKK member?

Does not matter what Lott’s past was. What was Imus’ past? He did not say anything that was only directed at blacks. He has made fun of all kinds of demographics. Sure, what he said was stupid but who is Sharpton to make a big deal out of it? Who made him the arbiter of right and wrong and how is it he gets to decide?

His decisions are to ignore Democrats and go after others on the slightest hint of racism.

  10. Christian says:

What Clinton said was not nearly as racist as what Don Imus said. Don Imus called a group of black women Nappy headed ho’s because of the color of their skin. Sharpton has preached for years about voting for your own kind and now he won’t even back Obama. Seems like he may be getting money from the Clinton campaign.

  11. Big Dog says:

Christian, there are no degrees of racism. You either said something racist or you did not. If Sharpton opposes racism then he opposes it regardless of any perceived degree.
