Congratulations on your success, Dr. Kirk. We're in Harrison County, located at the airport with Pratt & Whitney, Bombardier, Aurora Flight Sciences and FMW (the company that builds the composite resin space shuttle arm). We have 28 employees on 2 shifts after the layoff this past Friday. We disbanded our midnight shift due to a slow down in overnight aircraft maintenance. Our largest customer is a quartershare business jet ownership company. Their clients are mainly top executives in real estate, mortgage lenders, banking, brokerage houses and stock brokers. Obviously they've had a very bad month.

We go all over the world with mobile repair teams, repairing AOG's (aircraft on ground). In the last 2 months, we've been to Caracas, Venezuela; Milan, Italy; Warsaw, Poland and Mexico City. We had been on an incredible growth spurt until the fuel prices shot through the stratosphere. Another market manipulation by nameless, faceless hedge fund traders that inflicted untold damage on our entire economy. How does our government allow these games?

We simply cannot handle any more of this crap. We must elect a President with the will to stop this massive, worldwide ripoff of hardworking Americans.

BTW, Doc, if Obama gets in, his policies will kill private aviation, among other industries. Which means we will be looking to start all over again, in our mid-fifties. This country cannot afford Barack Obama. God help us!

Well said Patsy. I'm a West Virginia boy myself. Putnam County. Marshall undergrad and medical school at WVU, class of 83. Been in solo practice in a small town in Georgia for 22 years. I only have 5 employees but if Obama will leave us alone, we can do a lot more for them than the government can. As you know, with a small business, you get close to employees which are actually more like family. One more tax added to the onerous taxes we already pay will probably cost me an employee. You and I are unfortunately in the tax bracket he has set his sights on. The ones who are productive and produce jobs. Anyway, I can't add much to your excellent reply.

Great post Big Dog! And David your reply interesting. I can tell you my husband & I own a small jet aircraft maintenance facility in West Virginia. Because of the recent downturn in the economy, we just laid off 8 employees on Friday. The business jets we provide services for has been declining for months, first due to the exorbitant cost of Jet A fuel. Now with the decline in the stock market, housing & mortgage markets, fewer top executives are traveling and when they do, they take commercial flights.

Obama's response to Joe the Plumber, who is considering the purchase of his employer's plumbing contracting business, sent chills down our spines. Barack Obama is worried about the guys behind us, the ones who have nothing. They have nothing to offer, nothing to contribute, nothing to add and nothing in their wallets.

Barack Obama wants to confiscate the production of our business, via hardworking, dedicated employees who participate in our profits; take that money away from those employees who earned it, and give it to strangers who contributed nothing to the cause. These people don't even work for our company, yet Obama thinks they are entitled to the proceeds.

Our employees went to trade schools & universities to earn their A & P licenses & degrees, qualified themselves for their chosen profession and are now working their butts off to put out a quality product. Why isn't Barack Obama concerned about them? Why does Barack Obama think he has the right to steal the livelihoods of productive, taxpaying, contributing members of American society?

If Barack Obama is elected, the profits of companies like ours will be taxed out of existence, which will take money out of the pockets of blue collar workers who produce those profits. Obama's claim that he will give 95% of Americans a tax cut is a bald-faced lie. He will be taking a fortune away from lower middle class workers who earn ANY income. The key word in that sentence is "EARN." Our team works incredibly hard.

Our annual wages range from $26,000 to $72,000 per year, depending on their positions and expertise. If Obama gets in, every single one of our employees will get a 100% tax increase, in that Obama will destroy profits and our employees will get nothing. The truth needs to be told to all working Americans, their taxes are going to go up -- way up, if Obama is elected. And many will lose their jobs.

There was a speech given by Robert Toombs to the Georgia Legislature on Nov 13, 1860. Let's forget for the moment that the speech occurred for the consideration of secession and that slavery was one of many topics. His introductory few paragraphs are a brilliant explanation of how and why the United States of America was created. He explanation of why the various powers were given to the central government is exquisite. I will give a very brief excerpt. "These powers made armies, navies, and foreign agents necessary - these could only be maintained by a common treasury. Besides, we had a large debt, contracted at home and abroad in our War of Independence; therefore the great power of taxation was conferred upon this Government." You will notice he says "the great power of taxation." Our forefathers realized and indeed still in 1860 realized that this power of taxation was not given lightly and was given for specific reasons. It should still be realized that it is a great power, intended to be used judiciously.
