Thus said Barack Obama earlier this week. It seems a strange choice of words coming from the leader of our country but then again, this guy is not the usual leader. I actually doubt the leader part though he is leading us into ruin.
This is a guy who loathes the military and has little need for it. He does not like military power and thinks that countries can all hold hands and get along. We have seen how well this strategy has worked with Iran but he continues to pursue it.
This explains why his statement describes us a a military superpower, whether we like it or not. He does not like America having a strong military. He does not like us being stronger than other countries. He does not think we should have strength and be more powerful than others.
His entire life’s work deals with redistribution and leveling the playing field. He wants to take from those who make money and give it to those who do not and he wants our military strength to be no more than the other countries.
We all, in the world of Barack, need to be equal.
This is unfortunate and it is even more unfortunate that this country elected a person who thinks we are too strong and who apologizes for us. Maybe this is why his wife thought America was mean and why she had never been proud of it. We are too strong.
I like this country being strong. I like us being a military superpower. I believe in peace through superior firepower.
Unfortunately, we are stuck (until 2012) with this community organizing Marxist who is on a path to destroy us.

Too bad Obama’s quote has been taken out of context. But why let a thing like context get in the way of the “Obama hates American exceptionalism” meme that idiots like Palin spread, right?
Perhaps you could show how it was taken out of context.
Funny how when he says something stupid, he was taken out of context but I will wait for you to show me the “proper” context.

If Obama, the genius with so much education, meant it the way you say then he would have said; “We remain a dominant military superpower. Whether we like it or not, when conflicts break out we get pulled into them.”
The way he said it he is saying that we remain a superpower whether we like it or not and because we are a superpower we get pulled into conflicts.
It might seem like a nuance to you but it has been interpreted the exact way he said it.
Axlerod goes over all his speeches and he has people who are supposed to be educated in this. He is supposed to be a smart man.
The way he said it conveys his true feelings though it could give wiggle room, his true intent is obvious.
The period that Palin placed is appropriate. You can place a period where the word AND is used and then make a complete thought out of the next sentence as in:

You ascribe the whether we like it or not to the wrong part of the sentence which is why you have it wrong. If he meant it the way you claim he would have said it the way I wrote it in the first part of this.

Parse words, seems that this is done on the left quite a bit. I seem to remember the quote from McCain about 100 years actually being taken out of context and then ridden hard by the left.

As far as Obama’s grades go let’s not joke around here lumping Kerry and Bush in with Obama. Obama graduated from Harvard Law School magna cum laude and passed the bar exam to become a lawyer. That is a pretty good benchmark for his intelligence level and work ethic.

Ahh yes, another logical fallacy. Adam, you are a regular Socrates. So let’s extend this a moment. You claim the problems started when Bush took office so he is the cause of them.
On the other hand, Congress is responsible for introducing legislation, allocating money (spending it) and controls the legislative acts of the country.
The Dems came to power and things started going south. How is this not cause and effect especially considering that the Dems who allowed the financial collapse to happen were then elevated to a position of power?
But if the cause of the porblems go back a long way it is equally unfair to lay the blame on Bush which is what Obama constantly does (as do many Dems).
The problems have been brewing for many decades. The Dem control of Congress was the catalyst needed to complete the collapse.
I would like to see Obama’s educational records. I can believe only so much.

I would disagree but that is irrelevant. Dumb people do not graduate magna cum laude from Harvard, pass the bar, and practice law. Just accept it: Obama is a very intelligent man and has worked hard to get where he’s at. If he weren’t a Democrat you’d be praising him but since he is a Democrat you pretend you don’t buy it because you haven’t seen the records yourself.
I would not praise him no matter what he was if his beliefs remained the same.
I never said he was a dumb person, that is reserved for people who hate Bush. Just because he did not hone his rhetorical skills in the Church of Wright you think Bush is a buffoon. He is not a dumb man.
Of course, the Democrats like to say he is dumb and then say he misled them. How dumb must they be?
But I don’t think Obama is the smartest man in the room either. He is just another guy who puts his pants on one leg at a time but who has radical views and desires.
