The Founders intended for all law abiding citizens to carry guns if they desired. The Dred Scott decision addressed it in a round about way. They did not side with Scott because they did not want a black man to have the same rights as a white one <em>including carrying a firearm</em> The court recognized the right then but liberals like to use gun crimes to stir up support for punishing those of us who obey the law.
