What Did Obama Get For Placating The Russians?

Barack Obama gave Russia a “Reset” button that actually read “Overcharge” in Russian as a gesture of how our countries can better get along. Obama swept into office as a person who would negotiate with everyone. His great oratory skills would make the world love us and would build up the trust and confidence that the evil Bush Empire broke down.

So how is that working out?

Iran has bent Obama over a number of times and is not negotiating in good faith. Obama is mocked by most of the leaders of the world who have come to realize that he has no experience but possesses an inflated ego and overestimates his abilities.

Russia, in exchange for Obama screwing the Poles and Czechs out of missile defense systems promised by President Bush, has reciprocated by building an arms plant in Venezuela. Russia is building a small arms and ammunition plant, is sending up to 53 helicopters and has already delivered military equipment including fighter jets.

So the great orator Obama allowed himself to be bullied into stopping missile defense programs for our allies in order not to hurt Russian feelings but is now faced with a Russia that is building and supplying weapons to a country that is hostile to the US and is not very far away. The Russians care little about how we feel on the subject because they got what they wanted.

This is what happens when an amateur with no experience in world matters (except world travel as a child) tries to get in the game with the big boys. This is what happens when a politician is afraid to demonstrate power and instead cowers before those who care little about us.

Negotiations are fine but in order to be effective one must negotiate from a position of strength. The Russians have already sized Obama up and realize he is not up to the job.

Overcharge. How about Overhyped because that is what Obama was during the campaign.

America has been sold a bill of goods.

Fortunately 2010 will allow us to push our own “Reset” button.

    Mocked by whom?

      • Darrel says:

        Bigd: Sarkozy… The Japanese…

        DAR
        So you’re 0 for 2.

A specific example of a “leader of the world” mocking Obama.

Note: sometimes leaders of the world disagree on policy. It happens. This does not in any way constitute “mockery.”

        D.

    • Darrel says:

Yes, if “most of the leaders of the world” have “mocked” Obama, Bigd shouldn’t have any trouble providing several examples.

    • Blake says:

Pick your poison- France, Russia, even Poland, who would not return Billary Clinton’s phone calls after O’bammer screwed the Poles and Czechs out of the missile defense system.
Everyone, even my dog, knows the resident is weak, and has to be backed up by Michelle, who will b1tch- slap the country who disses her baby daddy.
Seriously, he is a diplomatic feather- he has no gravitas, nor will he ever have any if he keeps apologizing like some weak- tit pencil- neck geek (apologies to the geeks).

  2. Big Dog says:

Look Darrel, it was called mocking in the report. Type in leaders mock Obama and you can see that the word is used by those reporting.

And this is not about disagreements on policy.

Of course you would say is isn’t so. If I had Putin saying I mocked Obama on video you would deny it. BTW, the Russian leaders mocked him for Reset, he was mocked in Britain for his lame gifts and the Iranian leader mocks him with nuclear talk deception.

Get you head out of Obama’s rear end and you could see it.

Again you substitute “a reporter said so and so” for reality. That doesn’t cut it and it doesn’t support your ridiculously false claim that “most of the leaders of the world” have “mocked” Obama.

      D.

  3. Adam says:

You are right. Look at this video evidence I found when I typed in “leaders mock Obama” and pulled up the results. I don’t know why I doubted you…

  4. Adam says:

The only people using the word mock are republicans claiming Obama is being mocked. It’s a self-feeding delusion.

  5. Big Dog says:

Yeah Adam because the Daily Telegraph is a Republican publication and we all just KNOW that CNN is a Republican publication.

    • Adam says:

I imagined you’d have more than a leader who came “close to mocking” Obama and a leader of Al Qaeda. Al-Zawahiri? Really? Since when do we give a damn what Al Qaeda thinks?

  6. Big Dog says:

And we certainly know that Huffington is a right wing nuthouse

  7. Big Dog says:

I give a damn about what al-Qaeda thinks because what they think translates into what they do and what they want to do is attack us.

He is their leader, And the news story was a lefty publication saying Sarkozy came close but read what Sarkozy said and it is clear he is mocking him.

The Russians mock him, the Iranians, The French (that is when you know things are bad).

You don’t want to admit it and I understand it but if you open your eyes…

    • Adam says:

So you’ve got the leader of Iran, the leader of Al Qaeda, and the French president? If you’d told me just a few years ago that you’d be using their words to attack our president I’d have known for sure we’d elected a Democrat.

  8. Adam says:

I love also that you think Obama was bullied into canceling a multi-million dollar blunder known as the missile defense that doesn’t even offer as much defensive coverage as existing technologies already or close to in place.

    • Big Dog says:

      He was bullied.

Our allies are not happy and the idea that we are providing better defense, well that is up for debate.

    • Blake says:

Adam- regardless of the validity of the technology, you NEVER give up anything without getting something in return. If you can’t do that simple thing, you should just resign, and he should- in this day and age, the last thing we need is a political and diplomatic FEATHERWEIGHT in office.
My farts have more diplomatic heft than any of his apologies.

  9. Adam says:

I don’t think Obama’s foreign policy record has been perfect but to say Obama is “mocked by most of the leaders of the world” is a joke. He’s got strong support in Europe and Asia despite what you say.

But I guess in your fantasy world what keeps Obama up at night is getting mocked by terrorists, puppet presidents, and the French. Our country will never recover from this embarrassment…

    • Big Dog says:

Our country will never recover from this embarrassment…

I won’t say we will never recover but it will take us some time to recover from this embarassment. Oh, you meant the mocking and not Obama.

    • Big Dog says:

I guess we will see how it plays out. The leaders of the world like his buddy Chavez has mocked him and they view him as a novice who has no real idea how the world works. He will get more resistance. He might have strong support among the Socialists of the populations in those countries but the leaders are not thrilled with how naive he is.
