What Did Michelle Obama Mean

I want you to watch this video and pay very close attention to what Michelle Obama says at the 45 second mark. I want my liberal friends to tell me what other meaning she could have for what she said:

I am curious what she means by Barack’s home country of Kenya. I thought his home country was the USA. At least that is what they keep saying.

The full video is here and her comment is at the 13:57 mark.

Now it is pretty clear what she said so I want the liberals, er, progressives to explain it away.

    It means two things:

    a) Evolutionary wise, Kenya is the home country of us all

    b) McCain wins by default, better let him know

ps. At some point you guys are really going to have to let this go and come up with some ideas of your own so that people will want to vote for your team and you can win on your own merit.

pps. My grandfather talked about Germany a lot, grew up speaking German (as did my dad) and would refer to it as the home country. It wasn’t until years later that my mom told me he was actually born in Canada. So I understand now that he said this because some of his immediate relatives were from there. Ditto Michelle.

    • Big Dog says:

Sure, She meant evolutionary wise. I know that Cindy McCain was out there talking about John’s home country of Panama. Most Americans who were born in America consider this our home country. It would be different if your wife said in Darrel’s home country of Canada because you were born there. I would imagine that if your children were born here their spouses would say in their home country of America.

This could be cleared up for under $20.

The fact that the people who want answers are derided by people like you does not make their concerns any less.

I find it interesting that a guy who claims to seek the truth and to only want facts discounts those who want the one and only piece of evidence (the fact) that can settle this, released.

Perhaps to your truth seeking mind where facts are the only thing that matters, you are satisfied. But why deride those who want the absolute fact released?

Settle it once and for all.

I don’t know one way or another but I know I do not trust the word of a politician. Just like I do not trust those who claimed to have been spat upon and called the N word (which is looking more like a coordinated lie), I do not trust someone who tells me one thing but refuses to release the proof.

Release the birth certificate and release any video of the spitting/racist name calling.

      Otherwise, claims are not credible.

Birthers have the burden of supporting their claims. Court is where people have to put up or shut up. They have to answer questions and make their case.

I will be impressed when the birthers can come up with something that doesn’t get laughed out of court.

She added that the U.S. Supreme Court has recognized the state’s current certification of live birth “as an official birth certificate meeting all federal and other requirements.” Link

“Dr. Chiyome Fukino, director of the state’s Department of Health, states that she has seen the “original vital records” and that all is in order. She said in an official press release:

Fukino, July 27, 2009: “I … have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawai‘i State Department of Health verifying Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawai‘i and is a natural-born American citizen.”

Lack of standing is the least of their problems. Observe this example:

        ***
“An Army captain’s lawsuit—claiming she could not “in good conscience” deploy to Iraq under the command of a foreign-born president—was thrown out of court Wednesday, and U.S. District Court Judge Clay Land pulled no punches in his critique of the “frivolous” lawsuit. “Unlike in Alice in Wonderland, simply saying something is so does not make it so,” Land said. He warned the officer’s lawyer, birther demagogue Orly Taitz, that she would face sanctions if she filed any more birther suits. Land held that Capt. Connie Rhodes had presented no credible evidence “that President Obama is ineligible to serve as president… Instead, she uses her complaint as a platform for spouting political rhetoric, such as her claims that the president is ‘an illegal usurper, an unlawful pretender, [and] an unqualified impostor.’” Turning the knife, Land finally noted that even a middle-school student would notice the irony in “abandoning fundamental principles upon which our country was founded in order to purportedly ‘protect and preserve’ those very principles” by treating the president so poorly.”

        Birthers laughed out of court

One commenter at the article cited had a nice rant:

“If any of you Birthers still have any doubts as to Obama’s legitimacy, I can only state this: I have seen balls of navel lint that could outsmart you. It’s amazing you can find your way out of your own house in the morning. It is frightening that you drive a car. No amount of chlorine could clean up your gene pool. You provide reasonable doubt as to the concept of “intelligent life on earth.” You should be packed in bubble-wrap for your own safety and that of others. Any bus you ride in will be seen as way too long. You make Carrie Prejean look like Marie Curie. You would be ineligible for the show “Are you smarter than a fifth-grader?”. . . you would have to find one called “Are you smarter than slime mold?”

As long as you claim Obama wasn’t born in Hawaii, we will continue to mock you. . .”

  3. Adam says:

I’m sure it has nothing to do with the fact that Obama’s father was Kenyan and most of his living relatives are in Kenya. No, Michelle has let slip he was BORN in Kenya!

Yes, the jig is up. The truth comes out at last! Obama was born in Kenya! Michelle said so! So did Obama’s grandmother, right? There’s a couple of Kenyan birth certificates to prove it too right? The released US birth certificate? Faked of course.

Wait, Michelle didn’t say Obama was born in Kenya? His grandmother didn’t either? Those Kenyan birth certificates were fake? Hawaii state officials verified Obama’s released documents? Shucks. I guess you’ve still got nothing. Snooze.

Every single argument you’ve ever made against Obama’s released document has been debunked. You just don’t care to notice. So, no…$20 bucks won’t clear up the lunatic conspiracy theories coming from your side on this. Only therapy and meds hold the key…

    • Big Dog says:

Adam, NO birth certificate was ever released, period.

Hawaiian officials did not say that what was released was an official birth certificate. What was said (and remember the debate on language) is that there is a birth certificate on file in accordance with Hawaiian law. That means they have a birth certificate and have filed it in accordance with the law. It does not in any way confirm that the certificate on file says he was born here.

Clear it up with a birth certificate. A real one, not a COLB, not a computer generated list of database items, the actual handwritten birth certificate.

I knew you and Darrel would defend this and say it has to do with his daddy. In the real world a person would say the country in which they were born is their home country. Or, in this case would say his father’s home country.

A lot of the California governor’s relatives live in Austria. Does he call that his home country?

In case you have not noticed, one argument has not been debunked (and there are plenty more) is that the released document is NOT a birth certificate. You cannot debunk that because it is not a birth certificate. No matter what you call it, it is NOT a birth certificate.

I do not trust politicians and I only wish he received the same scrutiny that mcCain did when the progressive left brought up his eleigibility.

Besides, you guys still believe he was born in a manger in Bethlehem…

      • Adam says:

“Adam, NO birth certificate was ever released, period. … You cannot debunk that because it is not a birth certificate. No matter what you call it, it is NOT a birth certificate.”

See, this is why I invest in companies that sell tin foil. Just because the released certificate is a short form and not a long form does not mean it’s not a birth certificate.

“Hawaiian officials did not say that what was released was an official birth certificate.”

No, they’ve simply verified that the information on Obama’s released certificate is accurate. This is the form that Hawaii releases. Incidentally this is the only form I’ve ever seen of mine and the only one I’ve ever needed to get a drivers license, get into college, get a passport, etc.

I, Dr. Chiyome Fukino, director of the Hawaii State Department of Health, have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawaii State Department of Health verifying Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen. I have nothing further to add to this statement or my original statement issued in October 2008 over eight months ago….

“In the real world a person would say the country in which they were born is their home country.”

No, in the real world people understand that when speeches are made that not every word that comes out is to be taken literally. Of course these rules don’t count for your side, do they?

For instance when Obama says “…my muslim faith” that means’s he’s a Muslim. When Obama says there are 57 states? That’s not a gaffe. He literally thinks there are 57 states. When Michelle calls Kenya Obama’s “home country” that means he was born there.

“Besides, you guys still believe he was born in a manger in Bethlehem…”

Funny, your side is the only one that ever calls Obama a messiah. Don’t take it out on us just because our party nominated an inspirational candidate that made voters flock to events to see him and then to the polls to vote him into office. We didn’t make your side nominate an old man who drove voters away…

“I knew you and Darrel would defend this and say it has to do with his daddy.”

Because it does. Obama was not born in Kenya, his father was. Obama’s siblings were born in Kenya. Most of his living family is in Kenya. It’s pretty simple.

        • Big Dog says:

A Certificate of Live Birth is not a birth certificate.

I could not use one to get my passport. I could not use one to jojn the Army. I have to have a certified copy of my birth certificate.

Our side calls him your messiah. Your side treats him like one.

        • Adam says:

“A Certificate of Live Birth is not a birth certificate.”

I assume you mean Certification. A Certification of Live Birth which Obama released is a short form birth certificate. You can say you want to see the long form but don’t pretend he hasn’t released a copy of his short form birth certificate which is in fact a birth certificate.

Wanting a long form is useless anyway. A Certification certifies the existence of a Certificate of Live Birth which is what you want to see. The state of Hawaii has verified the information on the certification as being accurate so how can you claim that it isn’t a legitimate birth certificate unless you are saying the state officials of Hawaii are lying.

Obama could mail a copy of his long form to every American and your side would just call it fake. You don’t want to move past it and accept that Obama is a natural born citizen who was fairly elected President.

I do not need you to explain to me.

The poster gives the impression that the left is into Obama worship though I know the intent was to mock the right. It just does not look that way to me.

If the logo was not at the top it could be taken the way I say.

I know it tried to mock me but like I said, it did not. There is little that anyone can do to offend me. Basically because I do not care.

      • Big Dog says:

No Darrel, I looked forward to Palin being voted in. McCain was the lesser of two evils (which is still evil) but I think would have done a better job. In any event, I was not going to vote for him until he selected Palin. I wanted someone else and would have written in Ron Paul (who was 100% right about the economy and our monetary policy) until McCain selected Palin.

I did not want McCain but that is what the MSM gave us. I supported that candidate because of his running mate and because he would have been better than Obama.

  7. Montana says:

I love that they asked for “Public Defenders” (and they thought they could bring down our government), undercover FBI agent, sweet. Since their inception the Tea party crowd (not a movement since they do have the numbers or clout) because they are haters not debaters or as others have dubbed them screamers not dreamers. The simpleton Tea baggers are the same whiners that were crying when the McCain/Bailin ticket lost. Now that their yelling and screaming failed to stop the health care debate and the bill from passing they are crying again. Let’s face it the Republicans had eight years to deal with health care, immigration, climate change and financial oversight and governance and they failed. The Republicans are good at starting wars (two in eight years, with fat contracts to friends of Cheney/Bush) but not at winning wars as seen by the continuing line of body bags that keep coming home. Instead of participating in the health care debate of ideas the Republicans party turned inward to their old fashion obstructionist party. In my opinion the Republican Waterloo loss was caused by the party allowing a small portions (but very loud) of the republican party of “birthers, baggers and blowhards” to take over their party. I will admit that this fringe is very good at playing “Follow the Leader” by listening to their dullard leaders, Beck, Hedgecock, Hannity, O’Reilly, Rush, Savage, Sarah Bailin, Orly Taitz, Victoria Jackson, Michele Bachmann and the rest of the Blowhards and acting as ill programmed robots (they have already acted against doctors that perform abortions). The Tea party crowd think they can scare, intimidate and force others to go along with them by comments like “This time we came unarmed”, let me tell you something not all ex-military join the fringe militia crazies who don’t pay taxes and run around with face paint in the parks playing commando, the majority are mature and understand that the world is more complicated and grey than the black and white that these simpleton make it out to be and that my friend is the point. The world is complicated and presidents like Hamilton, Lincoln, and Roosevelt believed that we should use government a little to increase social mobility, now it’s about dancing around the claim of government is the problem. The sainted Reagan passed the biggest tax increase in American history and as a result federal employment increased, but facts are lost when mired in mysticism and superstition. Although some Republicans are trying to distant themselves from this fringe most of them, having no game plan/ vision for our country, are just going along and fanning the flames. For a party that gave us Abraham Lincoln, it is tragic that the ranks are filled with too many empty suits. But they now claim they have changed, come on, what sucker is going to believe that? All I can say to you is remember Waterloo.
