What About Insurance?

There is another big problem brewing as a result of Katrina. Now, the government is not processing loan applications fast enough and there are a lot of people being denied because they do not qualify or have bad credit. A lot of people do not want the loans but have to be denied before they can get a grant, money they do not have to pay back.

There are a lot of people applying for low interest loans and there is only so much that can be done in any given amount of time. People act like all they have to do is ask and they will get a loan. Well, if they could not get a loan before Katrina what are the odds they will be able to get one after? The fact is that is a poor area. The people who are applying for loans probably did not have a lot of wealth and their properties were probably not worth a lot. That is not to say it was not worth a lot to them, but the cold hard fact is that some people will nto qualify for loans.

The other question I have is why do these people, all of them approved or not, not have home owners insurance. A friend told me that they are not required to carry it in New Orleans. I can not imagine what idiot would decide people living below sea level did not need flood insurance but I would certainly make that a requirement before one cent of taxpayer money is spent building homes.

Here, once again, we have politicians calling for people to be fired.

The slow pace of the agency’s response to the hurricanes is a reason Representative Nydia M. Velázquez of New York, who is the senior Democrat on the House Small Business Committee, called on Mr. Barreto (agency administrator) yesterday to resign.

“We have reached a point where we need to get someone who can run the office in an effective way,” Ms. Velázquez said. “He doesn’t have what it takes at a moment of crisis.”

I think we should put Velaquez in charge of it. As a politician she knows how to screw taxpayers out of money and as a Democrat she knows how to give that money away no matter what. Perhaps Barreto should tell her how to do her job, since she was so kind to tell him how his should be done.

I guess it is easy for a politician to call for someone to be fired. They never have to worry about that because if they did, they would all be unemployed.

I, for one, am glad that this agency is requiring some standard before it gives away taxpayer money. After the debit cards being used for everything but what they were intended, I am glad someone is looking out for my money.

Read it.

BTW, how long do you think it will be before some idiot like Kanye West starts telling us this is all because of racism? I have an idea. Those rich stars should lend people their money, I mean if they can be trusted Why not?
