No Blake, it doesn't answer my question. If that care is already available to them, how does the bill make the benefits available to them? Maybe you would like a bill that put more restrictions on the availability of health care in the US to illegal immigrants. Well, this (the House bill that just passed) is your kind of bill then. If you actually did your homework, you would know that the House bill actually makes it harder for illegals to buy, with their own money, private health insurance.

Yes, complaining about a controversial election? That's equal to elected officials crying and whining "I object! I object!" like little children in the US Congress because the GOP minority wasn't getting it's way.

The bill covers them in the same way they have always been covered- they come to the emergencty room- they, at this time ( and I have to put that caveat in here) prohibit illegals from being eligible for the free stuff, but they can still buy on the gubbmint plan.
Does that answer your question?

The mortality numbers that are often cited are incorrect. Different countries report different things as a death.

For instance, a child born prematurely in certain countries is left to die and not considered as a death. In the US we try to save that child and report it as a death if it dies.

We have higher survival rates for most diseases and we have the highest standard of living in the world. You can use statistics to prove anything.

So explain why so may foreigners come tot his country. Explain why this is the place that they want to come to most and many will risk their lives to get here. If all the other countries are so great then go there.

I have no fear because I do not intend to follow whatever rules are mandated for health care. I do not intend to pay fines or go to jail and I will have the health care I need. I worry that we are going to spend 6 times the lie they claim to be the cost and we will bankrupt our country.

ADM: "there will be a bill and it will lay the foundation for bigger changes... which will move our country into the future.>>

DAR
Oh whatever will we do when we actually improve our stats to be above average? (or above last, see below). This is Bigd's fear?

"...the United States now ranks last in preventable mortality, just below Ireland and Portugal, according to the Commonwealth Fund’s analysis of World Health Organization data. The leader by that measure is France, followed by Japan and Australia."

I don't think the Democrats will stop until some form health care and cap and trade make it to Obama's desk. It may not be the bill they all want now but there will be a bill and it will lay the foundation for bigger changes down the road that you are so scared about but which will move our country into the future.

I believe health care reform and cap and trade to be the two most important areas for the Democrats in congress or any congress in the near future to be working on.

There are many Dems in conservative districts like NY-23 that are basically disposable at this point. The Democrats will not hold a majority forever but I have my doubts the tide is turning the way you want it for 2010. The chances of the Democrats gaining on the GOP is very slim considering the bloodbath you imagine in 2010 actually happened in 2006 and 2008.
