Veteran’s Day Open Trackback

The date of 11/11 is set aside each year so that we might honor those who have served our country. It is strange that we set one day aside for the people who ensure we are able to enjoy the rest of the days safely in a free and great country. The irony is, Veteran’s Day is a holiday and most veteran’s are working. They will not complain because they have something that others only talk about and that is professionalism. Our men and women in uniform are the best and the brightest our country has to offer. They always knew that they could face an enemy they just never figured it would be an enemy from within.

This Veteran’s day finds Jack Idema and his men still held captive in Afghanistan. I say held captive because they were found not guilty of the charges levied against them yet they are not free. Certain elements within our government have been complicit in the detention of these brave warriors. Cao has pages of information about the men and their plight. I encourage everyone to read about how these men are being treated and then ask yourselves if this is the justice you expect for our heroes.

On this Veteran’s Day I want to thank every man and woman who has stood at the doorway to hell to protect our country and our way of life. Our veterans who are long gone paved the way for our society to flourish and become a world leader in just over 200 years. No easy task when you consider that come countries have been around for thousands of years. We have been able to become the world leader because of men and women who put the needs of the many above the needs of the few and take on tasks that no one else would want. The veterans of the Great World Wars, those in Korea and Vietnam. Those who served proudly in the first Gulf War and now those who are defending our way of life against a people whose ideology is contrary to ours.

The men and women of our armed forces are maligned by the left in this country. The stories of others are always believed while our fighting forces are discounted as occupiers who lie and torture. We owe a debt of gratitude to the people who put life on hold and go do the dirty work so others may have the right to criticise the very acts done on their behalf.

America will only remain the land of the free so long as she remains the home of the brave. I have no doubt that we will be a free nation for a long time because we have the bravest warriors in the world. They are the guardians of freedom and they will NEVER let us down.

Thank you Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines as well as a thank you to the members of our Coast Guard who keep our borders safe. We owe our very existence to the work that you do. Like those who served before you, your names will be etched in the walls of history as the members of a great generation. God bless you and keep you safe and healthy.

Lest we forget those who are left behind while their family members are off serving, I want to thank the members of the military families who sit at home anxiously awaiting the return of their loved ones. Our men and women could not do what they do without your undying love and support. You too are special and we always keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
