Two Weeks In Review

Here are links to articles from the past two weeks. Amazing stuff in some instances and quite disturbing in others. The truth is spotlighted along with race baiting and outright lies in the name of politics.

  • New Your Daily News
Let’s take a break from the joy of Bush bashing to reveal the dirty little secret of New Orleans: Its local government deserves an F for its planning and response to Katrina. And one other thing: The New Orleans police force would be a joke if it weren’t a disgrace.
  • Brietbart.com
“I don’t want to detract from the show at all, because it’s entertainment, and a lot of times, in a time of need, we need entertainment to lift people’s spirits,” West said Tuesday at a news conference to promote Thursday’s free concert at the Los Angeles Coliseum.
  • Too Late!

  • Fonda Halts Bus Tour-Fox News
Why the change of plans? Certainly, Fonda is still very much against the war in Iraq and in favor of helping our troops there. But she said that she didn’t want to distract people from Cindy Sheehan’s bus trip, which is already under way and gathering support.
  • Plus she had trouble finding tie dyed jeans and love beads. And aged hippies don’t display as good a message.

  • Dems Assail White House-Breitbart.com
Congress’ top two Democrats furiously criticized the administration’s response to Hurricane Katrina on Wednesday, with Sen. Harry Reid demanding to know whether President Bush’s Texas vacation impeded relief efforts and Rep. Nancy Pelosi assailing the chief executive as “oblivious, in denial” about the difficulties.
  • Reid and Pelosi point fingers at the White House for everything. They never have a plan because Reid is too busy thinking of new ways to blame everything on conservatives and Pelosi is too busy getting botox injections to make her look like a deer caught in headlights.

  • Oprah Chimes in- Yahoo News
Mayor Ray Nagin walked away from his interview with Winfrey after getting emotional about the lack of aid. He became angry, saying that he felt other major cities would have fared much better because response time would have been swifter.
  • No Mayor, it would have been swifter in other cities because they have competent elected officials. I noticed you placed blame on everyone but yourself.

  • CNN President has posh vacation during Katrina-Drudge
CNN President Jonathan Klein spent last week on a posh island off Massachusetts while his network was down in the muck, covering Hurricane Katrina, the NEW YORK DAILY NEWS reports.
Reporter Lloyd Grove quotes a CNN rep: “Coverage plans for the hurricane were set before he left, and Jon was in constant contact with his deputies and CNN the entire time.”
  • Why is this man allowed to take a vacation while a catastrophe is going on? So he had communications with his staff, what difference does that make? Sounds silly doesn’t it?

  • Group uses Katrina to attack John Roberts-USA Today
The televised images of poverty-stricken evacuees from Hurricane Katrina are part of a provocative, last-minute effort by a liberal interest group to divert federal Judge John Roberts’ path to confirmation as chief justice.
  • We are not using this crisis for political gain.

  • Dean race baits again-Breitbart.com
“We must … come to terms with the ugly truth that skin color, age and economics played a deadly role in who survived and who did not,” Dean said.
  • Unless you mean the color of the mayor’s skin played a part Howie you are dead wrong. A black mayor caused this though I assume this is not what you meant. You are another race baiting poverty pimp.
