The Book Even Made Carter Sick

A Delta flight alerted ground control that a sick passenger was on board. Turns out that the passenger was former president Jimmy Carter and he was suffering an upset stomach. Carter was taken to a hospital and while he was in route the folks in the ER waiting room were “kicked out’ because Carter was on the way.
Carter was on his way to Legacy Village in Ohio to promote his new book, “White House Diary” but instead will spend the night at MetroHealth Medical Center for observation.
Can someone explain why the waiting room had to be cleared? They could have put him in a single room with the Secret Service and let the other folks get the treatment they needed. Instead, people were denied health care so a politically connected person could be accommodated. Hmm, sounds like what we will get under Obamacare.
What are the odds that someone in the ER was waiting there in the event Carter became sick and needed to be transported to the hospital? What is the likelihood that a person there would want to harm Carter?
Isn’t the Secret Service detail sufficient enough to handle any threat that might have occurred? How could he have been any more unsafe in the hospital than he would have been at the book signing?
I can’t imagine a has been 80 something year old man who has little impact on society could disrupt an ER more by being there among the commoners than by them being removed.
I hope he is OK but this is all a little too much drama.

What bothers me is the royalty that has been created in this country. One of the very basic tenants of the formation of this country was the total LACK of royalty. But you did notice how the article referred to Mr. Carter, didn’t you? It does NOT say “former” president. It says “PRESIDENT CARTER.” To our media, and to most of the elite, once you hold an office, you retain your royal title until death. That’s just another thing wrong with this country today.
And no, lefties, I know it’s not just the left that retain titles. I hear about “Governor” Palin all the time. She’s NOT a governor and shouldn’t be addressed as one. And Carter’s NOT president, and he shouldn’t be referred to as one.
Even with regard to a lack of “royalty” a great deal of respect has always been placed on the office itself and those that hold it and have held it.
I have no problem with former presidents being treated as they do and getting the benefits that they do. We’re not talking about a ton of people after all. There has never been more than 5 former presidents alive together and fewer than that most of the time.
But, as I pointed out, it’s not just presidents — it’s any elected office: US Senators, governors, mayors, etc. That’s what I have a problem with. We HAVE created a royalty in this country. In many times, it’s even blood-line inherited.
Former Presidents and members of Congress get pensions and perks. Otherwise I hardly see how still being called Governor or President even after they leave office makes them some form of royalty.
Blood-line inherited is nothing new. Political families stretch all the way back to the Adams’ and aren’t that big of a deal in my opinion. Name recognition is important in races and family names play into that.
Don’t even get me started on that Communist peanut farmer- I am surprised he didn’t start his own “collective” there, but I guess like many progressives, he likes money more that dogma- or perhaps he is “elite” and therefore not bound by the rules.

The funny thing is that the moron Meathead completely takes this post out of context and states that I think people get treated in the waiting room. I don’t link tot hat moron but will say he is as dumb as a box of rocks.

His first issue is that I tried to smear Carter. I did not though I have many times. I simply make the observation that there is no reason to clear a waiting room. I will spell it out for the idiot and his commenters.
Though people sometimes get treated in a waiting room that is not the intent here. The reality is that if the people had to leave then they did not get care. If they put Carter in his own with his protection detail then the folks could have stayed int he waiting room and received treatment when it was their turn.
Since I have infinitely more experience in this area and have treated thousands of patients in an Emergency Room I have more experience in my little finger than Meathead has in his entire troll body.
I know how to run an ER and I know what I am talking about, unlike unsuccessful fiction writers.
Meathead, cannot understand the English language AND has no idea what running an ER involves.
Leave it to the grown ups Meathead and go back to spanking your monkey.
