Establishment Republicans Do Not Keep Their Word

When Donald Trump entered the presidential race there was a lot of worry that if he did not win the nomination he would run third party which would guarantee a Democrat win. This was such a bone of contention the establishment made a big show of asking during the first debate if anyone would not support the winner if it were someone else. Trump indicated he would not depending on how he was treated.

He eventually capitulated and said he would support the nominee if he were not the winner. This made everyone happy.

The establishment Republicans made a big show out of telling everyone how they would support the winner no matter who it was. This was when they all thought Trump had no chance to win and when their only concern was him going third party if he lost. They could not afford to lose the kingdom.

Fast forward and Trump is in the lead. There is a very good chance he will be the nominee and all of the sudden those establishment Republicans who swore they would back the winner are backing out of their promises.

The latest to do so is Mitt Romney. I admit I voted for Romney in 2012. He was not the best Republican we could have put forth but he won and he was a heck of a lot better than Obama. In fact much of what he said would happen (and for that matter much of what Palin said four years earlier) has actually happened. All those smug liberals, including Obama, have said nary a word about the things they were wrong about, the things they ridiculed Romney over and there have been many.

My support of Romney then does not mean I will support what he says now. I have not made up my mind on a candidate but if Trump wins I will vote for him over the Democrat because both of them are Socialist/progressive thugs who will be worse than Obama. They will strike the finishing blow to our once great nation.

Romney, a man who begged Donald Trump for his endorsement in 2012, has blasted Trump and stated he would be bad for the party. Romney said many bad things about a guy who he praised when he wanted an endorsement. Romney is an establishment Republican who will say or do anything in the name of the party and at the expense of the nation.

It is a shame because Romney had a chance to keep his word and back the winner even if that winner happens to be Trump as he stated he would and as he expected from Trump.

You can’t trust the establishment. They are awakening to the reality that Trump might just win and they do not know what to do.

Unfortunately, they will not hold themselves to the same standards they demanded of Trump when they thought he could never win.

If they screw this up they can rest assured there will be a Democrat in the White House and a new party of people who finally figure out that the Republicans have abandoned them will form.

Obama Is Da Man

Just ask him.

B. Hussein Obama had a meeting yesterday that clearly demonstrates that Republicans need to grow a pair of testicles very quickly and oppose the things this man wants. Obama’s answer to criticisms about his “stimulus” plan was to say “I won.” When asked about certain things contained in the plan (such as millions of dollars for contraception) he basically said he will trump anything because he won.

It is true that he won but he needs Republican support to get things passed, especially in the Senate. Obama is clearly demonstrating a cockiness in the way he will run government. He is saying that he gets what he wants because he won.

George Bush won and no Democrat felt he should get what he wanted. They opposed him every step of the way. Now, Obama wants the opposition to roll over and not provide obstacles?

Obama also told Republicans that they could not listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done [he means the things HE wants done]. The explanation that came later was that the statement was part of a broader picture and that in order to get along the partisan stuff had to go. This is what they want. Silence critics so that they can push things along.

What Obama means is that you cannot get along unless you buy into the partisan stuff the Democrats want. Remember, he won.

Just so Obama knows, you can’t listen to the MSM and get things done.

Well, I don’t think we should all get along. I don’t care if Democrats like it or not and Republicans need to have the testicular fortitude to stand up and not give this man anything that is harmful, like an 850 billion dollar credit card.

This Obamanation promised the bill would not contain pork. It would only contain what is needed to stimulate the economy.

How will contraceptives stimulate the economy?

The bill includes 600 million dollars to “to address shortages and prepare our country for universal healthcare.”

How does that stimulate the economy? It doesn’t. What they are doing is imposing Socialism in bits and pieces. If they brought this forward as a separate thing it would never pass. Sneaking it in is how they plan on getting things through without the opposition seeing it. One thing is certain, the bill contains a lot of stuff that has nothing to do with a stimulus.

It is designed to allow Obama to get stuff through unopposed. It is designed to allow Democrats to push their agenda.

This is the kind of transparency Obama is endorsing.

Change? I think not.

Obama likes to compare himself to Lincoln. They might end up being the only two presidents to govern during a civil war they started.

Palin Shines In VP Debate

I watched the VP debate anticipating that Sarah Palin would do better than many thought because the debate is live and cannot be edited to make her look stupid. I am not indicating that she has not had less than stellar moments in her interviews only that the MSM has edited out some of the material and not shown the more flattering items. In the debate Palin was fresh and on the attack. She left Senator Joe Biden looking tired by the end of the night. She was so effective that he went on a rant to show John McCain was not a maverick. His rant was not factual and this added to the list of factual errors he made all night. My first thoughts were that he had a better grasp of the substance and she had better style and presentation. But Biden took liberties with the truth and told America that Barack Obama had not done some of the things he had and he gave Obama credit for some things with which he had little or no involvement.

There were no gotcha moments (thanks to Ifill’s book revelation?) and neither made a gaffe that will derail their respective campaigns but Palin continually chided Biden for looking to the past instead of the future. This is how she parried his attempts to connect McCain with the Bush administration. Amazingly, the very people who chide McCain for voting 90% of the time with the President (read his party) have voted with their party over 95% of the time and then turned around and supported the Bush bailout plan. Is it fair to say that they have sided with bush as well (and no Obama did not demand and get changes, he just claims he did)?

I think that Palin’s performance out shined Biden who has gotten little attention with regard to his weekly gaffes as the media casts its attention on whether Palin knows every vote John McCain ever cast.

She did well and I think this will tighten the polls a little bit. I don’t think the recent drop was very much attributable to the constant mocking of Palin that has occurred in the recent weeks and is more a reflection of the news about the Democratic induced economic crisis. However, it is likely that the constant video of her problems in her Couric interview caused some folks in traditionally red states to pause. I think last night’s performance will strengthen the Republican support in those areas.

CBS and other media outlets have Biden as the winner but that should come as no surprise. A large number of their viewers are left wing and many of the votes come from IPs outside the country. The Drudge report poll (where greater than 95% of the IPs in the last poll were in country) shows her with a 70-28 win (as of this post). The more accurate polls will come out in the next few days and then we will see how it played out. It should come as no surprise that the MSM is working hard to ensure a Democratic win in November so they will harp that Biden won no matter what.

Sarah Palin shocked many of the wingnuts and they are really unable to form a rational argument to show she lost. They continue to say she and McCain represent 4 more years of Bush and fail to make any other reasonable argument about why they should not be elected. McCain will not be 4 more years of Bush but Obama will be 4 years of worse than Carter.

Biden tried to say that he Obama was the true candidate of change but he must have meant the acronym CHANGE (Come Help A Nobody Get Elected).

One last thing. Pundits dismissed Palin by saying that Biden commanded the subjects (if you ignore his factual errors) and that Palin showed she was good at memorizing her talking points. I heard one person last night say that America wants a person who has command of the subjects and not one who can memorize them from a book.

Did anyone hear that argument made when Barack Obama debated John McCain? It is obvious that Obama spent a few days memorizing things to attack McCain with and it is obvious that McCain, though not as dynamic as Obama, had command of the subjects. Yet the wingnut pundits want us to dismiss the VP nominee as unqualified for the office because she learned her talking points but in the same breath expect us to vote for the guy at the top of their ticket who did nothing more than memorize his talking points.

To be sure, Palin had some facts wrong but isn’t Biden the guy who is supposed to have had command of them? He must have spent too many hours watching the tapes from FDR’s televised debates.

This will be fun. I just hope that McCain goes on the attack once this bill gets passed (not that I want it to pass). He can then start tying Obama to the crooks in this mess.

The Hillary Beast Lives Another Day

The New Hampshire Primary is now in the books and while the votes are still being counted the major networks have called this one for Hillary Clinton. It would appear as if all the pundits were wrong on this one as they (I included) were predicting Clinton would lose this race by 10 points. There were two things involved here and they probably combined to change things a bit. Remember when Bill Clinton lost this race and went on to be the “comeback kid”? Well he remembers it too and he has mentioned it since Iowa.

It is likely that the polls in NH were exaggerated to show Obama with a huge lead so that if she came close or won she could be dubbed the second comeback kid. The people and the media of NH have always been Clinton friendly so it is not beyond reason that some things were exaggerated to help her out.

I think what was involved more than anything is that John McCain energized the Independent voters so much that he siphoned them away from Obama. In NH the Independents are allowed to in which ever primary they wish but only one). I believe that early polling showed Obama ahead and much of it was the Independents who were committed to voting for him. Then Hillary went on the attack over the weekend when she did Hillary redux and had her millionth make over. Her attacks made people wary of Obama but they also realized that there was no way in hell they could vote for Hilary so they migrated to John McCain who has always had great support in the state.

It is likely that some combination of these two events took place. However, while the Clintons probably played with the polls and the news to some small degree, it is much more likely that the voters in NH were in favor of Obama until Hillary counter punched and then they became worried about him and abandoned him for McCain.

If this is the case it shows that the Independent voters are afraid of Obama and will not vote for Clinton. This should make little difference in the upcoming primaries because I don’t think there are other states that allows Independents to vote for members of other parties. In this respect, Hilary and Obama will be fighting it out head to head while staying strictly in their party. They also cannot discount John Edwards. As long as he stays in he will split someone’s votes (he might have done a little of that tonight).

Where this issue of going for McCain hurts Democrats is in the general election where people can vote for any party they want. Conservatives will come out in droves to vote against Hillary. We have seen tonight the possibility that Independents will vote Republican rather than cote for the Democrats.

This could spell disaster for them in the general election. However, I am looking forward to Hillary getting knocked out of the primaries so we do not have to deal with her in the general election.

She is Satan.
