But It Is Not A Government Run Plan

Time and again the left tells us that the health care bill will be a public option[1] (option would mean a choice but it is mandatory) and that it is not government run. This is the way they are trying to sell the bill of goods. No, the government will not be running anything.

Only problem is that every time they defend the bill they call it a government run program. Nancy Pelosi was out bashing the insurance companies in order to drum up support. Pelosi stated that the insurance companies are villains and are trying to stop the government run plan. She claims the villains are treating people badly (as if forced hospice is not a worse fate) and that they want to continue business as usual. These evil insurance companies are trying to thwart the efforts of the benevolent government and its desire to run nanny state health care.

Around 80% of people with private insurance are happy with what they have so the companies must not be too terribly bad. Matter of fact, Pelosi has private insurance (as do all the other members of Congress). That’s right, Pelosi and her ilk all have private insurance.

To top it off, members of Congress will be exempt from the government program. Only three Democrats voted for a provision requiring them to take the option along with everyone else.

Seems that the insurance villains are not so bad that Pelosi and the others want to ditch them for government run health care. No, they will keep what they have, all provided with our tax dollars and from private insurance companies.

If it is not good enough for the people who work for us then it is not good enough for us.

With regard to Pelosi, the word hypocrite comes to mind.
