<p>Well, he is at least considering Limbaugh&#8217;s advice now.  Perhaps that is because there is a tough election coming this November and Obama&#8217;s tax and spend policies (which are really tax, borrow and spend) have done little for the economy.  Business is sluggish, the unemployment rate is still above where they said it would be if we passed the Stimulus and our <a href="http://www.usdebtclock.org/">debt grows by leaps and bounds</a> each and every minute (every second!!).</p>
<p>When Obama was immaculated Limbaugh devised <a href="http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2009/01/26/the_obama_limbaugh_bipartisan_stimulus_plan_of_2009">The Obama-Limbaugh Bipartisan Stimulus Plan of 2009</a>.  You can read it in its entirety but one of the items was to cut the corporate tax rate.  America&#8217;s corporate tax rate is one of the highest in the world and Limbaugh proposed cutting it in half from 35% to 17%.  His ideas fell on deaf ears as Obama spent three years telling us the only way to fix things was to make the rich pay their fair share (while ignoring the fact that they pay most of the taxes) and to spend our way out of a debt problem. </p>
<p>Raising taxes, the Democrats tell us, is the only way to solve the economic problems.  If only the government had more money coming in it could be responsible and spend it responsibly.  This ignores the history of our government spending what it takes in, no matter the amount, and then some.  Reagan&#8217;s tax cuts increased revenue to the government but liberals claim it increased the deficit because there was not enough money.  They ignore the reality that when more money came in, Congress spent more.  They spent all of it and then borrowed money to spend even more.</p>
<p>Barack Hussein Obama (mmm, mmm, mmm) will soon announce that the government <a href="http://ca.news.yahoo.com/exclusive-obama-pitch-lower-corporate-tax-sources-222544743.html">will try to cut corporate tax rates</a>.  The number being floated is 20%.  Yes, the government is looking to cut corporate taxes by 15% in order to get things moving and increase revenue.  The article points out that it would be hard to do in an election year but it will give the appearance that government has listened to corporations.</p>
<p>The increase in revenue is what Limbaugh said would happen and is why he proposed it in his 2009 plan.</p>
<p>Democrats know that people feel they have been overburdened with taxes.  I know there are folks who claim this is not true but any poll that includes those who pay no taxes or who get money back even though they paid nothing is not valid.  Those folks will always feel that people are not taxed enough because they want those who pay taxes to pay more so they can continue to live off the sweat of the people who actually pay their fair share (and then some).  In other words, the unpatriotic should not be included in the poll (VP Joe Biden said it was patriotic to pay taxes so if you don&#8217;t pay you are not patriotic).</p>
<p>The Democrat party hates tax cuts but it knows that people hate tax increases.  The Democrats talk tax cuts around every election because they are pandering to the people and trying to get elected (which seems to be the take of the article).  Once the election is over they go right back to screaming that taxes need to be increased.</p>
<p>The funny thing is that nearly all the time the Democrats claim that tax increases are needed and that tax cuts hurt the economy and take money away from government.  Then when election time rolls around they claim they need to cut taxes to increase revenue and improve the economy.  Let&#8217;s face it.  The only reason they want to raise taxes is because doing so meets their definition of fair.  Even when presented with the reality that taking 100% of the money the rich make would not fix our problems Obama said he would still raise taxes because it is the fair thing to do.</p>
<p>Some leadership there.</p>
<p>If the government succeeds in lowering the corporate tax rate and the economy improves (which it will barring some other stupid government intervention) look for Obama to claim his past policies made it work and that he deserves four more years.  </p>
<p>While Obama crows about how great he is and how his policies worked Limbaugh will be the one who can say:</p>
<p>See, I told you so.</p>
<p>Obama should listen to the adults in the room and not the radicals in his regime.</p>

The government does this by giving our tax dollars to people who pay nothing in taxes by allowing credits and other deductions so people receive money even though they paid nothing.</p>
<p>This is redistribution of wealth and government loves being involved in it.  Recently, the government raised a lot of hoopla about cutting the Social Security tax by 2% and the battle to extend that cut received a lot of attention.  The cut is not paid for and will lead to an even larger deficit in Social Security but government did manage to redistribute wealth in the deal.  It added a fee to new or refinanced mortgages that lasts the life of the loan.  The cut is for two months and even if extended will not last as long as the fee added to the mortgages.  The money will go to the general fund instead of being used to offset the SS cut.  No matter what it is used for, it was taken from producers who buy houses to pay for something else.</p>
<p>Another program exists that cost those who pay their own bills 1.6 BILLION dollars.  That program <a href="http://news.yahoo.com/washington-footing-cell-phone-bill-millions-low-income-202500656.html">provides low income Americans with free cell phones</a> (not free, just no cost to them).  The phones are paid for with the Universal Service Fee that people pay for their landline and cell phones.  As you can imagine, it is poorly managed and has a lot of waste.</p>
<p>This is another example of where people pay a fee that is added to their bill to provide for those who don&#8217;t have something.  There is no way to claim cell phones are a right or a necessity.  Cell phones are a luxury and nothing else.  People in this country existed and did quite well for a long time before cell phones ever existed.  Why do we have to provide cell phones for people who cannot afford them on their own?</p>
<p>If you can&#8217;t afford a cell phone then you should not have one, period.</p>
<p>The poor in America, those who pay little or no federal income tax, would be rich in most other countries.  This is what the poor look like in America:</p>

<li>80 percent of poor households have air conditioning. In 1970, only 36 percent of the entire U.S. population enjoyed air conditioning.</li>

<li>Nearly three-fourths have a car or truck, and 31 percent have two or more cars or trucks.</li>
<li>Nearly two-thirds have cable or satellite TV.</li>
<li>Two-thirds have at least one DVD player, and 70 percent have a VCR.</li>
<li>Half have a personal computer, and one in seven have two or more computers.</li>
<li>More than half of poor families with children have a video game system, such as an Xbox or PlayStation.</li>
<li>43 percent have Internet access.</li>
<li>One-third have a wide-screen plasma or LCD TV.</li>
<li>One-fourth have a digital video recorder system, such as a TiVo.</li>

<p>Being poor in America is not as bad as it is made out to be by politicians who are hell bent on keeping large numbers of people enslaved.  Why would anyone who has all this stuff and is able to receive a welfare check or some other help plus a &#8220;free&#8221; cell phone have any kind of incentive to do better?</p>
<p>Why go at it on your own when you can get all this stuff from the sweat of another?</p>
<p>Politicians like people to be enslaved to government because it gets them votes.  Yes, most welfare programs from food stamps to cell phones are nothing more than methods to buy votes.  Sure, the programs do provide legitimate help to people who really need it but there are far too many people feeding at the trough.  Most do not need to be there.</p>
<p>I read this somewhere and it is true, if you rob Peter to pay Paul you can always count on Paul&#8217;s support.</p>
<p>Government assistance, or safety nets, should be there for people who truly need them and they should be short term, temporary programs that are uncomfortable for those who use them.  Most of all they should encourage people to get off them.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, government encourages people to get on them and stay on them creating generational poverty and increasing the Democrat voter block.</p>
<p>If you live off the taxpayer or off those who pay fees with their bills then you are a dependent of those folks.  </p>
<p>Don&#8217;t forget that when we require you to take drug tests or provide some kind of community service to earn your keep.</p>
<p>Earn your keep?  Get real.  These folks get by because we earn their keep.</p>
<p>End dependence&#8230;</p>

<p>The language is ambiguous so they will be able to do what they want and will be able to defend their acts using the cover of an illegal law.</p>
<p>But just in case, there is a bill, HR 3166, that would strip US nationals of their citizenship for acts of hostility against the United States.  Yes, if the population decides to take the same action against the government that our Founders took then the government would strip those involved of their citizenship.  That would certainly make it easier for them to detain us under the NDAA.</p>

<p>Perhaps the people in Congress are worried because they have long ago passed the kind of tyranny from which this country fought to escape.  They might have an inkling that the country is a powder keg and at anytime the collective last nerve will be plucked.</p>
<p>We conduct our revolutions at the ballot box in this day and age but that does not mean the people do not reserve the right to disband the bonds that tie them to government should that government fail to serve those people.</p>
<p>This bill is designed to allow our government one more tool to usurp the authority granted under the Constitution and to drive another nail in the coffin holding our freedom.</p>
<p>Dissent is patriotic and it is even more patriotic to fight peacefully or otherwise to keep our freedoms and I will be damned if any government official will ever remove my citizenship because I defended the Constitution against any enemy foreign or domestic.</p>
<p>The government is moving toward total control.  How long will it be before we are approached with the words, &#8220;papers please&#8221;?</p>
<p>Oh wait, we already get that when we travel, unless we are illegals and then we are left alone (or given government welfare).</p>
<p>They have us <a href="http://www.theatlanticwire.com/technology/2012/01/homeland-security-monitoring-drudge-report-new-york-times/47300/">under surveillance</a>, they can detain us indefinitely without due process and now they want to strip our citizenship if we ever defend ourselves against their tyranny.</p>

It would be bad enough that the government required us to have such things in our clothes but now suppose that the fire retardant did not exist.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s right.  The government requires you to buy clothing with a substance in it that does not exist and then fines you when you are unable to do the impossible.</p>
<p>Not many Americans would stand for this kind of nonsense so Big Dog, how could you even suggest such a silly thing?  The government would never require people to use something that does not exist and then fine them when they were unable to do so.</p>
<p>Not so.  The federal government will receive about $6.8 million in fines (for 2011) assessed to oil companies because they failed to mix a biofuel additive in with their gasoline and diesel.  The companies expect to pay even more this year for failing to use the biofuel.</p>
<p>The problem is, the biofuel does not exist outside of labs.  It has not been developed for use so it cannot be used but that has not stopped the government from assessing penalties on companies because they cannot possibly meet the demands the government has placed on them.</p>
<blockquote><p>Penalizing the fuel suppliers demonstrates what happens when the federal government really, really wants something that technology is not ready to provide. In fact, while it may seem harsh that the Environmental Protection Agency is penalizing them for failing to do the impossible, the agency is being lenient by the standards of the law, the 2007 Energy Independence and Security Act.  <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/10/business/energy-environment/companies-face-fines-for-not-using-unavailable-biofuel.html?_r=1">NYT</a></p></blockquote>
<p>This is absolutely ridiculous and clearly demonstrates an out of control government.  This is what happens when government mandates compliance with things that are not yet possible or will not be when compliance laws take effect.  This is the same problem we will face if government mandates movement to certain &#8220;green&#8221; energy sources by specific dates and then those not yet invented sources do not come to be.</p>
<p>I would imagine the oil companies will take legal action to keep from paying a penalty that they cannot possibly avoid.</p>
<p>If not then how long will it be before we are all held hostage to the impossible demands of an impossibly inept government?</p>

They have taken the reprehensible act of rounding up free citizens and locking them away without the benefit of a trial and sanctioned it by passing a law that says it is OK.</p>
<p>The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for this year took the drastic steps of basically designating the US a battlefield and then allowing people (citizens and non citizens alike) to be taken into custody by the military, detained who knows where and kept as long as the government deems necessary.</p>
<p>Make no mistake, the provisions apply to US citizens the caveat is that the military is not <em>required</em> to take citizens into custody.  They have permission to but are not <em>required</em> to.  There is no absolutely clear language that forbids US citizens from being apprehended and held without trial and in violation of the rights enumerated in our Constitution.  Senator Dianne Feinstein, a Democrat from California, introduced an amendment that would clearly forbid US citizens from being affected by this.  It was soundly defeated so you know it applies to citizens.</p>
<p>This was passed by Republicans and Democrats alike and signed into law by Barack Obama.  History will show that he was the one who signed a bill into law that shredded the Bill of Rights and turned America into the kind of country that led to the atrocities of Nazi German.</p>
<p>This is no right vs left issue.  This issue involves all Americans and the attack on us is coming from both sides of the aisle.  Republicans and Democrats worked together to do this to us and it matters little that the man who signed it into law is a Democrat.  It would have been just as egregious if it had been done by George Bush (though I can&#8217;t help but wonder how many Democrats who remain silent would be screaming bloody murder had it been he) or any other Republican.  This is an assault waged by the entire government on the citizens of the country.</p>
<p>The issue has hit a hot button among people from all political beliefs.  <a href="http://www.salon.com/2011/12/16/three_myths_about_the_detention_bill/singleton/">Salon</a> has an excellent article showing how this applies to US citizens and why it is bad.  The <a href="http://www.aclu.org/blog/tag/NDAA">ACLU</a> is against this law (though I disagree with their position that it is illegal to hold anyone indefinitely regardless of their legal status) and US Representative <a href="https://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=296584837047596">Justin Amash</a> has written in length about it.  <a href="http://www.naturalnews.com/034538_NDAA_American_citizens_indefinite_detainment.html">Natural News</a> busts the myth about this not applying to citizens and the points made align with those of the other linked articles.</p>
<p>This Republic is in serious trouble and it is getting worse as those in office continue to clamp down on us and our freedom.  We will not take this lying down but how many people will have to whisked away before the general population starts to pay attention?  How long do we allow the people in office to have their way with us before we do something about it?</p>
<p>This coming November is a huge election and it is up to us to have a peaceful revolution at the ballot box.  VOTE OUT EVERY PERSON WHO VOTED FOR THIS.</p>
<p>And that includes the man who signed it into law.  Yes, I know he used a signing statement to express his concerns but signing statements are no more valid when he uses them than when Bush or anyone else used them.  They do not bind anyone and have no weight should the issue be challenged.  A president can do one of three things when presented with a bill.  Using a signing statement is not one of the three.  They do not bind future presidents and they do not bind the one who made the original statement.  Obama could decide he would rather follow the law as written at any time and his signing statement would mean nothing.  Like Executive Orders against abortion&#8230;</p>
<p>We have a chance to right the ship by getting rid of all these people and the first step is in the peaceful election process.  Should that not work and should they start locking up Americans in violation of the Constitution, well it won&#8217;t be a good time in American history.  Let&#8217;s just leave it at that.</p>
<p>Remember, the argument that if you did not do anything wrong you had nothing to worry about did not fly when the Patriot Act was being debated and it should not fly now.</p>

<p>Well Michelle, he scares us as well and for the same reasons.  He has big plans that involve more government and the transition to Socialism and he pushes us beyond the comfort zones because he is anti American.  He does not like our history and he does not respect the men who founded this nation.</p>
<p>He is scary because he feels entitled to the job and he feels he has the right to tell us how to live and what to do so much so that he is bypassing Congress to get what he wants.</p>
<p>He is a tyrant and while he is not physically imposing or physically scary, his plans and his dreams are scary.</p>
<p>And he needs to be stopped.</p>
<p>In 2012 we will put an end to his tyranny and that will end the scary nightmare for the nation.</p>
<p>You Michelle, have to divorce him to accomplish the same thing&#8230;</p>

The scare-mongering and gnashing of teeth is classic. The government employees cannot contain themselves because they&#8217;re terrified of the power of The People.</p>
<p>The story screams and whines about not being able to seat a jury in a case because the jurors, during questioning, wouldn&#8217;t do what the judge wanted. Yes, literally. The jurors were asked if they could convict a person for possession of 1/16 of an ounce of marijuana. If they would not, they were not allowed on the jury. In other words, if you won&#8217;t do what the judge tells you, he doesn&#8217;t want you on his jury.</p>
<p>The DA and other lawyers were irate and baffled.  The writer of the article was angry. But know what? That is almost exactly how the jury is supposed to work. The only step missed was that the jury shouldn&#8217;t have been asked that question before the trial. Instead, the case should have gone to trial, all those jurors should have been put on the case, and then when it was time for a verdict, they could vote to acquit. In that case, justice truly would have been served. Instead, sadly, the defendant plead guilty to something.</p>
<p>If you are ever called to jury duty, <A href="http://fija.org/">know your rights</a>. In most cases, the judge will openly lie to you. Sorry, but that&#8217;s the truth. Any judge who says, &#8220;As a juror, you are to judge the facts and not the law&#8221; is lying. You CAN and SHOULD judge the law. That&#8217;s your job as a juror. If you, personally, don&#8217;t like the law, you get to say NO. And no, you will not be prosecuted for it &#8212; no one has been (one was tried, but the judge lost the case eventually).</p>
<p>The jury box is one of the last defenses against tyranny. Judge the law &#8212; that&#8217;s your job.</p>

<p>Happy Independence Day to all Americans in this great country.  It seems rather strange to me that we celebrate our Independence after a victory over tyranny while experiencing that some kind of government tyranny in this day and age.</p>
<p>In 234 years we have gone from a new nation celebrating Independence to a battered nation whose Independence is teetering on the brink of extinction by an ever reaching government whose intrusion into our lives knows no bounds.</p>
<p>That is what we faced centuries ago and we prevailed.  It will be a bit more difficult now because the enemy is within.  It is insidious and it desires to &#8220;fundamentally transform&#8221; our nation into a bastion of Socialism.  It desires to have government involved in every aspect of our lives.  It desires to enslave us to government so that we will do the bidding of those in power.</p>
<p>That can never be allowed to happen.  We must not go down without a fight or this nation, a nation smiled upon by God and born of liberty and freedom, this nation that has achieved more in 234 years than any other nation in history, this nation that has produced more and contributed more to the human experience than any other, will be but a footnote in a future history book.</p>

<p>The liberal/progressives have taken advantage of our weakened state to impose their anti liberty agenda.  They have seized upon every crisis (whether real or manufactured) in order to ram a liberty killing agenda down our throats.  They have taken advantage of our weakened state, a weakness they helped produce, in order to attack from within because they believe we will not be able to counter their assault.  They are quite wrong.</p>
<p>To paraphrase Charlie Daniels; This Lady may have stumbled but she ain&#8217;t never fell and if the liberals don&#8217;t believe that they can all go straight to hell <em>[from the song - In America]</em>.</p>
<p>So on this Independence Day when we sit around with family and friends celebrating the sacrifices made on our behalf let us vow to never let those sacrifices be forgotten.  Let us vow to never allow our country to become enslaved again by any enemy, foreign or domestic.</p>
<p>Because we certainly have plenty of both.</p>
<p>If we shall falter it will not be without a fight.</p>

<p>Here is a person who was elected to office and who took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution saying that he did not worry about the Constitution.  Bingo.</p>
<p>None of them do.</p>
<p>When asked where in the Constitution Congress was given the authority to do what it did he answered that he believed that the Constitution gave the right to &#8220;Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.&#8221;</p>
<p>That phrase comes from the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life,_liberty_and_the_pursuit_of_happiness">Declaration of Independence</a>.  </p>
<p>Perhaps this explains why the Congressman does not care about the Constitution.  Maybe it is because he swore to uphold it and has no idea what it actually says.</p>
<p>He is no different from any of the others who think they can do what they want without regard to our Constitution.</p>
