Happy birthday to the greatest nation in the world, something we should never apologize for. May this birthday mark the resurgence of patriotism and defiance of those who would try to fundamentally transform this nation or change its founding documents in order to enslave our citizens.

Red Skelton’s 1969 description of the Pledge is right on and appropriate even after all this time:

God bless the men and women who serve in our nation’s armed forces and God bless those who oppose tyranny and refuse to allow our nation to continue down the path of government intrusion and control of its people.

Today we celebrate our Independence which started with defiance of authority by brave men who were tired of tyranny. Let us never fear government.

Let us make government fear us.

I Found The Obama Transparency

Barack Obama promised to have a transparent administration. He promised that bills would be posted for five days before they were voted upon and he promised that all his actions would be open to the American public. Unfortunately, since taking office he has been anything but transparent. None of the bills signed have been posted for five days, he has spent a ton of money to keep his birth certificate and college transcripts hidden (regardless of what people think on the subject, that is not transparent), and he is now involved with members of his party who will write the health care reform bill behind closed doors and out of the public’s eye.

Barack Obama is more secretive than Richard Nixon (and that is not the only similarity – enemies list).

But I think I have found the Obama transparency. It is a shocker but I think I have actually found it. Barack Obama has decided to open all of our top secret nuclear weapons sites to the Russians so they can come in and count our nuclear warheads. Barack Obama is being transparent with the Russians and allowing them to snoop around in our most secret and most securely guarded places. He is showing our potential enemies what we have and where we keep it. By G-d, you just can’t get more transparent than that.

Clinton said the U.S. would be as transparent as possible.

“We want to ensure that every question that the Russian military or Russian government asks is answered,” she said, calling missile defense “another area for deep cooperation between our countries.” Fox News

I thought Joe Biden was transparent when he disclosed the location of the “undisclosed location” that the VP gets sent to but Obama takes the cake.

Secretary Clinton said that we (the Obama administration) want to make sure that every question the Russians have is answered. Isn’t it amazing that the very people who refuse to answer questions about Obama’s birth certificate are willing to answer any question that the Russians might have with regard to our nuclear weapons?

Isn’t it amazing that the very people who are avoiding the American public, who brushed people off at town hall meetings, who call those with concerns unpatriotic and un-American, who claim that the protests are contrived and are “astro turf”, who cut people off or refuse to allow them to speak are so willing to open their hearts and souls to the Russians?

Can someone explain to me how it is that the Russians, a potential enemy, get free access to our most guarded secrets while American citizens (who, BTW, would NEVER get access to the nuclear sites) are ignored and treated like the enemy?

It should worry all Americans that the Obama Administration has chosen to demonstrate its so called transparency by allowing the Russians access to our nuclear weapons.

The real enemy in this country is Barack Obama and his administration. He and his minions are doing damage to this country at an alarming rate.

Pretty soon we will have Muslim terrorists over here looking at building plans and maps of major cities and subway systems all provided by the Obama administration in the name of transparency (case in point).

Here is an idea for the moron in the White House. How about you stop giving the country away and practice transparency here at home. Instead of giving the Russians free access to our nuclear sites what say you tell them to stay home and instead give the American public unrestrained access to that closed room where you and your henchmen will be cooking up the health care bill?

At the same time, how about doing it all on C Span, something you said would happen when you were lying about transparency…

And since you are so into letting the enemy have a look see, why don’t you invite Fox News to oversee the health care bill writing. You did declare them an opponent so give them the same props you are giving the Russians.

The reset button he gave the Russians has reset us to the 1950s when our government was full of Communists supported by the Democrats. Now the Communists are the Democrats and they are giving away the farm…

But it’s A Dry Heat

Well, with the aid of eight Republicans, the House narrowly approved the Cap and Tax bill that ensures that your liberties are severely curtailed in favor of discredited pseudo- science put forth by pseudo- scientists who are very interested in getting more of your money for themselves, and Liberals who believe they have a right to interfere in your lives in unprecedented fashion.

Now, it has (belatedly) come out that a scientific study of a dissenting opinion was squashed by the EPA and the Administration, so as to seemingly present the “appearance” of a unified front with respect to the “settled” science of Global Cooling, Global Warming, Climate Change, or whatever the hell they are trying to label it as now.

The day before the House was to vote on a controversial energy bill destined to be the largest tax hike in American history, it was revealed that the Environmental Protection Agency had suppressed an internal report challenging the entire global warming myth.

Despite the importance of this study, and how it related to a debate about to ensue on the House floor, its existence and suppression went almost completely ignored by America’s media.

This, of course, comes in stark contrast to regular and frequent news reports in previous years accusing the Bush White House of intentionally censoring the science of climate change.

Yes, I know- it’s a shocker folks. The news media in the tank for their messiah? Oh say it aint so, Joe- Joe? Joe?

REPRESENTATIVE JOE BARTON (R-TEX.): Well, good afternoon. I’m Congressman Joe Barton the ranking Republican on the Energy and Commerce Committee, and we’re here today on a very serious matter.

We have the Obama administration, which was put into office on the pledge and the promise of openness and transparency and full disclosure and a new change in government. And one of their biggest issues is the issue of climate change and whether we should move a massive reorganization of our entire economy because of CO2 emissions.

In order to move forward, the EPA administrator had to find an endangerment finding, which is a legal term meaning the EPA administrator had to declare that there was an endangerment to human health, and, therefore, we needed to regulate this substance — in this case, CO2.

There is a group within the EPA that’s tasked with doing some of the economic and environmental analysis. And a career scientist in that group prepared an extensive report, close to 100 pages in length, in which he found that there were very serious concerns about going forward with the finding of endangerment. And that’s the substance of this press conference, is how that report was suppressed, censored, prevented from going through the review process.

 Also in attendance at the press conference which took place at 12:32 PM EDT Thursday were Rep. James Sensenbrenner (R-Wisc.), Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.), Rep Greg Walden (R-Ore.), Rep. John Shadegg (R-Ariz.), Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA), Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), and Rep. John Fleming (R-Louis.).

Yet, despite this press conference, and the significance of this revelation just before a key House vote, LexisNexis identified not one television news report on this subject.

Not one. This was not because of a “lack of interest” onthe part of the American public- I am quite confident that if the American people were presented with either spending our grandchildren’s money on questionable science, or perhaps waiting until all the facts are in, they would choose the latter option. After all, we have enough of our money going to questionable things here- lets not add to this.

Thomas Paine, in his paper entitled “Common Sense”, makes this observation, “Immediate necessity makes many things convenient, which if continued, would grow into oppressions. Expedience and right are different things.”

And yet everyone seems to be in such a hurry to pass this abomination of a bill- without even reading it! So much for the lie about transparency, and the lie about having this bill (and all others) on the government website for public comment. Also going by the wayside is Hussein’s claim that he will listen to differing points of view.

John Hinderaker of Poweline has alerted everyone to the release of the suppressed EPA Carlin/Davidson report along with incriminating emails by the Competitive Enterprise Institute.  President Obama and his administration have again been appropriately exposed. Obama’s intent can no longer be in question, and his deceptive activities are instructive as to the role the United Nations will play in his plan to address the use of American wealth.

I guess the only bright spot in this whole mess is that this bill should die a slow death in the Senate, unless the jug-eared munchkin from Oz can pull another mad hatter out of his butt, because after people read this report, they should rightly be bleeding from their eyes at the blatant dishonesty of this Administration and its minions in suppressing any dissent, especially when this affects us in so many ways.

Want to sell your house? Not so fast- you will have to have a Federal Inspector come out and see if you are “green” enough- if not, you will have to spend money retrofitting the house before you can sell it. This is just one example- they want to control what kind of light bulbs you buy, limit your shower time (that’s a biggie for women, I know), how much water you use (even if it is your own well). This law would also drive the prices of ALL goods up to almost twice what they are now. 

Can we afford this? I think not- certainly we should think twice about voting for anything where the proponents of this legislation feel the need to suppress the adverse report  that calls into question the very need for this bill. Suppressing dissent is something Communist China, or Iran might do.

It should never be done by this government. To do so is so wrong, that it is traitorous. 

And there is no good way to spin that.

New York Times Keeps Mum For Its Own

David Rohde, a reporter for the New York Times, was captured in Afghanistan seven months ago and a few days ago he escaped and is on his way to safety. I am happy he escaped and hope he is none the worse for wear.

The story of his capture was not made public by the NYT. Bill Keller decided that it would put him in danger if the story was published so the took the “agonizing” decision to keep it under wraps.

Deciding not to report initially on reporter David Rohde’s capture by the Taliban for seven months was “an agonizing position that we revisited over and over again,” New York Times executive editor Bill Keller said Sunday.

“All along, we were told by people that probably the wisest course for David’s safety was to keep it quiet,” Keller said in an interview on CNN. My Way News

This is the same New York Times that disclosed one secret government plan after another even after being asked not to so that our troops would not be placed in further danger. The NYT only held one story and did not do that for very long. The paper decided that it was in the public’s interest to know about the secret programs.

When it came to one of their own, the paper decided to keep the story quiet so as not to endanger the employee.

Where was the public’s interest?

This is further proof that the NYT is an anti American paper. They took great pride in hurting America when George Bush was trying to protect us even though they were told it could place our troops in further danger.

This should demonstrate the bias of the NYT as well as their hatred of our troops.

Did Obama Negotiate With Our Enemy?

Barack Obama was pretty quick to point out that there was only one president at a time. He usually pointed this out when something tough came up and he did not want to commit himself to it. The Israeli/Hamas conflict comes to mind.

The one president meme did not stop Obama from injecting himself into other things and if one of them that is now being reported is true, he should be tried for treason. The Washington Times is reporting:

According to GeostrategyDirect.com, a newsletter published by The Washington Times’ ace national security reporter Bill Gertz, “Diplomatic sources said Barack Obama has engaged several Arab intermediaries to relay messages to and from al Qaeda in the months before his elections as the 44th U.S. president. The sources said al Qaeda has offered what they termed a truce in exchange for a U.S. military withdrawal from Afghanistan. ‘For the last few months, Obama has been receiving and sending feelers to those close to al Qaeda on whether the group would end its terrorist campaign against the United States,’ a diplomatic source said. ‘Obama sees this as helpful to his plans to essentially withdraw from Afghanistan and Iraq during his first term in office.’ ” [emphasis mine]

Now, I don’t know who the diplomatic sources are or if they even exist. If this is true then I imagine the source will eventually be disclosed.

This is very serious for several reasons. First of all this probably violates the Logan Act. Not that it matters because Nancy Pelosi and some of her Democrats did that on a regular basis when Bush was president. The most serious issue with regard to this is that al Qaeda is our enemy. If Obama was contacting them to work a truce or work some other kind of deal in return for the removal of our troops from Afghanistan then he was aiding the enemy. I wonder if Obama has been watching how Hamas honors truces? Does he think al Qaeda would be different?

He was in no official capacity. He was a Senator running for the presidency. If he acted in his capacity as a Senator he definitely violated the Logan Act and since he was on an unsanctioned mission and met with our enemy secretly, he committed treason. This, of course, is contingent on the story being correct.

Like I said, the source is not known so this might either not be true or we will never be able to prove it. The accusation is damaging enough especially in light of Obama’s outreach to Muslims in the last week. His first interview was with a Muslim news organization and he blamed America for the problems. He has had them stop playing Hail to the Chief and has replaced it with a Sting song, Desert Rose which is noted for the duet with an Algerian singer. Maybe this outreach is to make good on promises undertaken prior to the election.

I am a bit skeptical because this indicates he bargained to leave Afghanistan but Obama has stated that he was sending more troops there. There is no telling what his intentions are but right now it would appear as if he will draw down from Iraq and move troops to Afghanistan.

However, al Qaeda might have wanted us to leave Afghanistan but settled for something else.

Remember when Obama was holding secret meetings telling Iraq not to make any deals until he took office? Those meetings were denied at first but it turns out he had them.

That means he is not above holding secret meetings.

As for meeting with the enemy? That remains to be seen but considering his past associations he already consorted with the enemies of this country.

Of course, he did say he would be willing to meet with anyone without precondition…
