But Liberals Think Obama Is Transparent

Barack Obama said he would have the most transparent administration and many liberals believe that this is the case. One who comments here will link to liberal sites and their claims of more transparency to bolster claims that are evidently not true. The very liberal Washington Post has taken issue with Obama and his regime and the lack (get that liberals, lack) of transparency:

But the reality has not matched the president’s rhetoric. We, presidents of two of the nation’s largest journalism organizations, and many of our thousands of members, have found little openness since Obama took office. If anything, the administration has gone in the opposite direction: imposing restrictions on reporters’ newsgathering that exceed even the constraints put in place by President George W. Bush.

Wow, EXCEED the constraints put in place by Bush. This must be making the Obama cheering section (read, media) lose their minds. How could their messiah be so non transparent after he promised them he would be so open?

Because he is a liar. He is a Socialist who will manipulate (and has) the media in order to pass his Socialist agenda.

Some are waking up but even with the complaints the media (including the authors of the cited piece) will support the empty suit in his bid for reelection.

They can’t help it, it is in their blood.

Come Clean On Those Donors

David Axelrod was on Face the Nation Sunday and he was bashing Republicans, particularly Karl Rove, because of money that goes to ads for Republican candidates. The problem, according to Axelrod, is that the donors names have not been disclosed. The insinuation is that the donors are illegal and a lot of the money is coming from overseas entities. Rove has denied this, his group is following the law, and even The New York Times stated that nothing wrong took place.

This has not stopped the Democrats, including Obama and Biden, from parroting the same lies. The smear, which faithful liberal Alan Colmes is also harping on, is a non starter for Obama and the Democrats.

Nothing wrong is taking place. While I would like to see transparency I also understand that the law is the law and these people are not obligated to disclose the information.

Funny thing is that Obama had no problem with undisclosed donors when it was the donors giving to him during his run for the presidency. Obama still has not come clean on a lot of his donors. He received a lot of money from foreigners and others overseas, in violation of the law. His credit card process had no security and there was rampant abuse when it came to him getting money.

The Obama team’s disclosures came in response to questions from The Washington Post about the case of Mary T. Biskup, a retired insurance manager from Manchester, Mo., who turned up on Obama’s FEC reports as having donated $174,800 to the campaign. Contributors are limited to giving $2,300 for the general election.

Biskup, who had scores of Obama contributions attributed to her, said in an interview that she never donated to the candidate. “That’s an error,” she said. Moreover, she added, her credit card was never billed for the donations, meaning someone appropriated her name and made the contributions with another card. Washington Post

There is no doubt that Obama took illegal donations and that he did not disclose the names of people who sent him money. For him to now cry about the Republicans not disclosing their donors, donors who are legal, smacks of desperation. And this is because he is desperate. The Republicans will gain somewhere between 55 and 70 seats in the House and will either tie the Senate or take a one Senator lead. He is desperate because he is going to take, as George Bush once said, a thumping.

These accusations are baseless and Axelrod looked like a fool trying to push them on Face the Nation. When one considers the response of Bob Schieffer, a left wing supporter, it is easy to see the Democrats are in real trouble.

The Most Transparent Government

Nancy Pelosi promised it and Barack Obama promised it but both have failed to deliver on it. These two radical liberals promised the most transparent government in the history of the universe (or something like that) and they tell us how transparent they are every chance they get.

They tell us after the emerge from closed door sessions where secret deals are struck, they tell us after they vote in the middle of the night and they tell us after they are challenged for not being transparent (as in breaking the C-SPAN promise). They honestly believe that if they say it enough people will believe it.

Joe Biden is out to correct all that. His schedule for today shows that he met with the Recovery Act Transparency and Accountability Board.

Unfortunately the transparency meeting was CLOSED TO THE PRESS.

DAILY GUIDANCE FOR THE VICE PRESIDENT, Thursday, January 14, 2010:
In the morning, the President and the Vice President will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing and the Economic Daily Briefing in the Oval Office. These briefings are closed press.

At 11:30 AM, the Vice President will meet with Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood to discuss the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. This meeting is closed press.

Afterwards, the President and the Vice President will have lunch in the Private Dining Room. This lunch is closed press.

I left his lunch out because I would expect that to be closed and I imagine that they have to announce that it is because some are photo ops depending upon who is eating there or whatever. No one can begrudge these men the chance to eat lunch in private. I also left out the PDB because it should be closed.

But, that leaves three meetings that are CLOSED including the one on transparency in the Recovery Act and one that is a splash, where they allow reporters in for a few brief photos after the meeting while the participants pretend they are still in a meeting.

Four meetings and not one of them was open.

How is that for transparent?

I guess Biden was trying to keep up with the rest of the Democrats who were locked in rooms where they discussed the health care debacle in private.

Yep, change you can deceive in.

UPDATE: This is at least transparent. The head of weatherization for Obama has funneled business to her husbands window company.

Why No Tort Reform?

Because Tort Lawyers have bought and paid for the Democratic Party

The monstrosity of a health care bill is not good for the country. The Democrats claim it is deficit neutral and that it will save money in the long run but that is a lie. Nothing the government does saves money. Massachusetts has the same kind of plan and that state is rationing care and raising rates.

If the health care takeover was a good idea it would take effect immediately but Obama and his Democrats know that it is not going to perform as claimed and that is why it will not take effect until after the 2012 presidential election. Obama hopes to win a second term and he knows that he cannot win if the bill takes effect immediately because by the next election the flaws will be quite evident and he will be booted out the door.

The claim of the Democrats is that they are trying to save money. Democrats do not save money. For that matter, it is hard to find anyone from either party that is good at saving money. Having said that, there are plenty of plans that can actually save money. The Republicans introduced a number of reform items to do just that and the Democrats voted against them. Then Senator Barack Obama, the guy who says we have to do this NOW, voted against them. If saving money were truly a priority then tort reform, which was part of those plans, would be included. Tort reform would save money and no matter how much it ended up being, it would be saved. But Democrats can’t have tort reform because the tort lawyers own a piece of that party.

The bill that Pelosi introduced demonstrates that very clearly. The bill provides a payoff to the tort lawyers as evidenced by this as reported at Big Government:

Section 2531, entitled “Medical Liability Alternatives,” establishes an incentive program for states to adopt and implement alternatives to medical liability litigation. [But]…… a state is not eligible for the incentive payments if that state puts a law on the books that limits attorneys’ fees or imposes caps on damages. [emphasis in quote at Big Government]

There will be incentives if states adopt alternatives to liability litigation (like perhaps arbitration) but if a state has enacted the alternatives of limiting attorney’s fees or capping damages then it is not eligible. Those two items constitute tort reform. Limiting attorney’s fees and capping awards are the meat and potatoes of tort reform but if any state uses that then it loses the ability to receive incentives for any alternatives to litigation that it might devise.

This is a way for the government to ensure that states do not take it upon themselves to enact tort reform. This is the payoff to the tort lawyers. Democrats (and they wrote this bill) have ensured they will keep their buddies in tort law in business.

It is nothing more than a payoff and it stinks. The Federal Government is cutting states off at the knees to protect the lawyers by including a provision that discourages them from enacting tort reform, an issue the Democrats do not want addressed. Obama was blowing smoke up our collective rear ends when he said he would look at, and consider, options for tort reform.

This bill weighs 19 pounds and is nearly 2000 pages. This is but one item that pays off supporters and in the next week we will see more information as people read through it.

Writing a bill behind closed doors, without Republican input, and hiding this kind of stuff in it is not my definition of transparent.

How do people not laugh when the ObaMao Reich claims to be the most transparent in history?

Maybe we could have asked Pelosi that when she introduced it if she had not barred everyone except those chosen by her from attending the event. That is another demonstration of this Reich’s transparency.

I Found The Obama Transparency

Barack Obama promised to have a transparent administration. He promised that bills would be posted for five days before they were voted upon and he promised that all his actions would be open to the American public. Unfortunately, since taking office he has been anything but transparent. None of the bills signed have been posted for five days, he has spent a ton of money to keep his birth certificate and college transcripts hidden (regardless of what people think on the subject, that is not transparent), and he is now involved with members of his party who will write the health care reform bill behind closed doors and out of the public’s eye.

Barack Obama is more secretive than Richard Nixon (and that is not the only similarity – enemies list).

But I think I have found the Obama transparency. It is a shocker but I think I have actually found it. Barack Obama has decided to open all of our top secret nuclear weapons sites to the Russians so they can come in and count our nuclear warheads. Barack Obama is being transparent with the Russians and allowing them to snoop around in our most secret and most securely guarded places. He is showing our potential enemies what we have and where we keep it. By G-d, you just can’t get more transparent than that.

Clinton said the U.S. would be as transparent as possible.

“We want to ensure that every question that the Russian military or Russian government asks is answered,” she said, calling missile defense “another area for deep cooperation between our countries.” Fox News

I thought Joe Biden was transparent when he disclosed the location of the “undisclosed location” that the VP gets sent to but Obama takes the cake.

Secretary Clinton said that we (the Obama administration) want to make sure that every question the Russians have is answered. Isn’t it amazing that the very people who refuse to answer questions about Obama’s birth certificate are willing to answer any question that the Russians might have with regard to our nuclear weapons?

Isn’t it amazing that the very people who are avoiding the American public, who brushed people off at town hall meetings, who call those with concerns unpatriotic and un-American, who claim that the protests are contrived and are “astro turf”, who cut people off or refuse to allow them to speak are so willing to open their hearts and souls to the Russians?

Can someone explain to me how it is that the Russians, a potential enemy, get free access to our most guarded secrets while American citizens (who, BTW, would NEVER get access to the nuclear sites) are ignored and treated like the enemy?

It should worry all Americans that the Obama Administration has chosen to demonstrate its so called transparency by allowing the Russians access to our nuclear weapons.

The real enemy in this country is Barack Obama and his administration. He and his minions are doing damage to this country at an alarming rate.

Pretty soon we will have Muslim terrorists over here looking at building plans and maps of major cities and subway systems all provided by the Obama administration in the name of transparency (case in point).

Here is an idea for the moron in the White House. How about you stop giving the country away and practice transparency here at home. Instead of giving the Russians free access to our nuclear sites what say you tell them to stay home and instead give the American public unrestrained access to that closed room where you and your henchmen will be cooking up the health care bill?

At the same time, how about doing it all on C Span, something you said would happen when you were lying about transparency…

And since you are so into letting the enemy have a look see, why don’t you invite Fox News to oversee the health care bill writing. You did declare them an opponent so give them the same props you are giving the Russians.

The reset button he gave the Russians has reset us to the 1950s when our government was full of Communists supported by the Democrats. Now the Communists are the Democrats and they are giving away the farm…
