Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/no-background-checks-on-nlrb-appointees/.

It is bad enough that Barack Obama violated the Constitution when he made what he calls recess appointments when the Senate was not in recess but two of the appointments he made never made it through the vetting process and the Senate never had a chance to advise and consent. As such, Sharon Block and Richard Griffin were sent up after the Senate had adjourned (but did not go into official recess) and they do not appear on the list of Obama nominations.

These two did not have background checks, security checks and were not checked to ensure they paid their income taxes (a common problem among Obama appointees). None of this mattered to the Dictator of Amerika, King Barack Hussein, who appointed them anyway.

It is tragic that he violated the Constitution though it is not surprising. It is just as bad that he never gave the Senate time to even put these nominees through the proper vetting process.

King Hussein said he appointed folks because he knew Republicans would obstruct. It was, preemptive. So he has now embraced the Bush doctrine of preemptive strikes.

The Senate was not in recess and has had a pro forma session every three days. That appears to be consistent with Senate rules (and the Constitution says the Senate makes its own rules for how it is run) so Obama usurped the authority of Congress.

None of these appointments came up while the Senate was in recess and only one has been submitted for proper review. The Senate has not yet acted on these nominations so Obama decided he would take matters into his own hands, violate the Constitution, tick off a lot of people and do what he wants, rules be damned.

I hope he does not expect much cooperation when things ramp back up. He wants a trillion more added to the debt ceiling and he will want to make more nominations.

Republicans need to step up to the plate. Take Obama to court over this and get a ruling. If it goes in our favor then great. If not then you guys need to filibuster every motion to adjourn or motion to recess from now on. Keep everyone in DC and Obama will not be able to do an end run.

Until we take the King off his throne we need to use all the tricks.

We can start by not providing for a salary to anyone who gets a recess appointment and then proceed to not providing funds for their agencies.

The power of the purse will derail a dictator every time.

Cave canem!
Never surrender, never submit.

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/in-search-of-unicorns/.

The problem with Democrats is that they don’t understand how things work in the world of business. They are too engaged in class warfare to actually tell the truth or to do things that are good for the country. Democrats believe that they should tax the living hell out of the so called rich and while they claim it is because the rich need to pay their fair share the reality is that the Democrats want to create envy among the have nots. Make the middle class believe that the rich are getting over and gain Democrat voters.

The absolute fact that the rich pay most of the income taxes in this country is lost on those who play the class warfare game. The bottom 47% of wage earners pay absolutely NO federal income taxes and many of them actually get money back. They owe no taxes and get a refund while the wealthy foot the bill for the cost of government in this country. The top 53% of wage earners pay the money that runs the country.

Democrats want to tax the people who create jobs. Remember folks, government does not create jobs. It can only create an environment favorable to job creation or one that hinders job creation.

Harry Reid, the Senate Majority Leader and world class moonbat Democrat has stated that millionaires (the latest group targeted for a tax increase) who produce jobs are like unicorns, they do not exist. He then narrowed it down to some small fraction (two opposing views, either they do NOT exist or they are present in a small percentage).

Both statements are incorrect. Wealthy people create plenty of jobs. In fact, we can shoot down the do not exist argument in one shot. Bill Gates, the late Steve Jobs, and the founders of Google are all extremely wealthy and they all create thousands of jobs. Not only are they creating jobs at their companies but their products create jobs down the line in companies that produce computers and those who install software. These millionaires (plus) have created plenty of jobs so the argument that they do not exist is gone.

But are the millionaires who create jobs a small fraction of the total number of millionaires or are they, as Reid claims, hedge fund managers and rich lawyers (like a lot of members of Congress)?

Paul Roderick Gregory of Forbes puts the Reid claim to the test and it looks like Reid told a whopper.

The number of millionaires who create jobs is significant and way above what Reid claimed. One would think that Reid would have some fact checkers doing some work to ensure he did not make such outrageous claims but that would assume that Reid did not want to make the mistake. He did not care. The truth was not his goal.

His goal was to create another myth and to perpetuate the class warfare that Democrats are known for. He wanted people to believe him.

It is like the myth that Warren Buffett pays less in taxes (as a percentage) than his secretary does and that he wants Congress to fix that because it isn’t right. The man avoids taxes (even while calling for higher rates) and the comparison he makes is invalid.

The whole story is bogus but people, supposedly intelligent people, keep using it to justify taxing the very people who pay the most in taxes (top 10% of earners pay 77% of the taxes).

That was Reid’s goal, spread a lie and have it multiply geometrically so he can continue to whip up class envy.

It is what Democrats do and this will never be different.

It is up to intelligent people to cut through the BS and come up with the truth.

We will never find unicorns but we can easily find millionaires who create jobs.

Reid lied. A truthful Democrat is like a unicorn…

ADDENDUM: While Reid is playing class warfare the wealth of members of Congress has tripled in the last 25 years while the wealth of the average American has decreased. Imagine that, their wealth has increased and they do not create ANY jobs and I don’t doubt they avoid paying higher taxes as well…

Cave canem!
Never surrender, never submit.

Barack Obama warned Congress that it had better pass the payroll tax holiday extension or it might not be leaving for Christmas. Obama is upset that the Congress has failed to pass a bill that would force people who EARN more than a million dollars to pay a surcharge, or what Obama calls “their fair share.” The wealthy pay most of the federal taxes in this country so it is obvious they pay more than their fair share. Those who don’t pay their fair share are those who sponge off government but pay nothing in federal taxes. Obama though, is using the threat of Congress spending Christmas in DC as a weapon to get what he wants:

“I expect it is going to get done before Congress leaves,” Obama warned lawmakers. “Otherwise Congress might not be leaving, and we can all spend Christmas here together.”

This is typical Obama crisis management. Everything he wants passed must be done now, is a crisis and can’t wait. They all wait until the last minute, strike a deal that screws us all and then slap each other on the back and go home.

This is mostly bluster because Obama has already revealed that he will be leaving on yet another vacation starting December 17th. Obama is planning on going to Hawaii for 17 days and I highly doubt that he means it when he says “we can all spend Christmas here together.” I sincerely doubt he will cancel his vacation to spend time in DC.

He might try to make Congress stay in DC while he is on vacation but that would go over like a pregnant pole-vaulter. Mind you, I have no doubt that Obama would do this because he is not a leader and he does not know how to lead by example.

But if he does he will suffer politically.

I do think that he will not have to worry. Congress will come up with some half baked scheme at the last minute and vote on it. It will pass (and they will spend a fortune getting it to Obama for his signature) and they will all tout how they had to compromise because the evil Democrats/Republicans (depending on who is talking) would not budge. It was the best we could hope for under the circumstances, blah, blah, blah.

They will be kicking a can down the road so they can leave for their expensive Christmas parties/fund raisers.

Obama will be on a Hawaiian golf course and the country will be circling the drain.

Cave canem!
Never surrender, never submit.

Well people of Maryland, you voted these slugs in office. Watch the video and see how the politicians in Maryland are telling you one thing and doing another. These liars will say we need a certain tax (or fee which is still a tax Marty O’Malley) for a certain reason and then they take the money collected and use it for something else.

Then when the fund for which the money was intended dries up, the politicians scream about needing more taxes to pay for what we ALREADY paid for. This is true of the transportation fund in Maryland. They had a ton of money in there and used it for something else. Mind you, we PAID that money in and it was supposed to pay for transportation projects but they spent it on something else. Then they raised the tolls and other fees and are looking to raise vehicle registration fees, the gas tax and the emission test fees to cover the money that we already paid in but that they misappropriated. We are paying for this twice and there is no guarantee that they will not waste the money again.

Watch this video and see how poorly the politicians in Maryland handle our money. Look how little care they have for OUR money. They just figure they can make you pay more. The state of Maryland is run by Democrats and the Republicans can do absolutely nothing to stop the other side from raping the producers in the state. Watch how one Democrat tells you that they have no problem doing this because they need to prioritize. He even gives us the buzz word, education. We need to fund education and we will take what we need to do that.

Really? About 40% of the lottery money goes to education. A large portion of the casino money goes to education. Maryland spends a great deal of money on education and there is no lack of per pupil spending. The only possible reason they need to send money to education is to pay off the teacher’s union. And when one considers the poor state of our education it would appear that they are throwing our money away. I would also suggest that since Maryland is a sanctuary state and pays a lot of money to illegals as well as welfare queens and other non producers the problem is NOT needing the money for education.

This country was founded, in part, on a revolt against unfair tax policies. What is this state of Maryland going to do when the producers decide that enough is enough? What will King O’Malley and the morons in the legislature do if we all just tell them to get screwed and stop paying taxes? What will they do if we decide NOT to support them? Some have already moved from the state and it is losing a lot in taxes because of it. Many more are shopping via the Internet and out of state to avoid sales taxes much to the dismay of the comptroller…

People will avoid paying taxes (Democrats are good at that) and eventually people are going to get fed up with the taxes on top of taxes that the state of Maryland is imposing.

One day we will take a stand. Perhaps we will organize an Occupy Annapolis movement where we can trash the place and threaten lawmakers. That seems to be the only kind of protest they pay attention to.

And if that does not work, well we shall see…

Comrades of the People’s Republik of Maryland, you asked for this. You slugs who sit on your couches and hold your hands out as well as those of you living off the gubmint voted for these people because they promised you more of someone else’s money. They promised to only tax the rich and that you would be taken care of. Look at the taxes and fees and decide if only the rich will pay those.

You people asked for this and you got exactly what you asked for.

Suckers…

Cave canem!
Never surrender, never submit.
Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/rob-peter-to-pay-paul/.

Congress does not know how to manage money. That is a plain simple fact of life that simply cannot be rationalized away no matter how hard one tries (and Congress critters try). They have shown it time and again by spending more than we pay in taxes and then raising taxes to cover their inability to manage money. They continue to raise taxes and spend more until someone comes along and manages to get taxes lowered.

Then revenues increase and what happens? The Congress spends even MORE!

Social Security is another example of their inability to manage money. They extorted money from our paychecks because we are too stupid to save for our own futures. Then they supposedly put that money away to actually pay us when we retire. The problem is, Congress saw trillions of dollars sitting there gathering dust while waiting to be paid to retirees and decided to add it to the general fund and, you guessed it, spend it. The so called Social Security trust fund holds nothing more than nearly three trillion dollars in IOUs that are worthless.

Sure, they are backed by the full faith and credit of the US Government but there is little faith in our government because we borrow 40% of every dollar we spend.

We now have another example of the inability of Congress to manage money. Congress has raided the money that is supposed to pay for Obamacare. Millions of dollars have been taken from the Obamacare funds in order to pay other bills or to spend on one pet project or another.

I think Obamacare will be ruled unconstitutional but if it is not what happens when it comes time to pay for it? What happens to this magical law that is supposed to pay for itself? What happens to that cost curve?

Congress will claim there is not enough money and that taxes need to be raised or services cut or both.

All because Congress cannot properly manage money.

We need radical change in DC and we can start by replacing all those members of Congress who have been there more than one term.

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/firefighters-police-and-teachers-are-state-responsibilities/.

Whenever progressives discuss the need for stimulus money to further expand upon their bad economic plans they inevitably discuss the impact on the salaries of firefighters, police officers and teachers. They scream to pass the bill because we need to ensure we keep paying these groups of people.

Keep in mind that the bill that allegedly creates jobs is being justified by pointing out that it will pay to continue jobs that are already held by people.

Progressives always point out public safety employees and teachers when they want to pass something and there are two basic reasons for this. The first is that it plays on the fears of people. What happens if we lose firefighters, police officers and teachers? We will not be safe and our kids will not get educated (as if they are right now).

The second reason is based on the first. Once there is fear about losing people in these occupations it is easier to get support for massive spending.

The reality is that the progressives want to pay off public union employees for their support of Democrats. Firefighters, police officers and teachers belong to unions that overwhelmingly support Democrats. The money going to them is part of a huge money laundering operation where government spends billions of dollars that go to public sector unions and then public sector unions send loads of money back to Democrat politicians.

The only people who get screwed are the taxpayers because our money is being laundered through the unions to support Democrats and we have no say in the process.

The federal government does not belong in the business of paying the people in these professions. Firefighters, police officers and teachers work for state or local governments. There are federal employees in these professions and the federal government deals with their pay but for the most part people in these professions belong to a state or local government.

The state or local government hires these folks based upon the needs of that particular entity and it is up to the state or local government to pay these people. If they cannot afford to pay them then they need to reduce the size of the police or fire departments and they need to reduce the number of teachers in the schools. If they want to continue with the numbers they have then they must raise revenue at the state or local level. Let the state and local politicians raise taxes and other revenue and let them deal with the voters at that level.

The federal government does not belong in the business of the states and people who pay federal taxes should not be paying the salaries of state and local firefighters, police officers and teachers.

It is a responsibility that is not part of the powers enumerated for Congress under the US Constitution.

That won’t stop politicians from using our tax dollars to pay for these things (look at Stimulus I) and it won’t stop them from using these job titles as justification for a bill they claim will create jobs.

It is our responsibility to tell these politicians NO to any new Stimulus and it is up to us to tell them they are working outside the limits of their authority.

They want to intimidate you with tough words:

‘The message to the American people and to Congress will be clear,” said principal deputy spokesman Josh Earnest. “Pass the bill this week to protect the job of a North Carolina teacher, or come down here, look her in the eye….” USA Today

But we need to be equally tough. So, if there are any politicians who can’t do what this person says call me and let me know. I will be happy to go to North Carolina (or any other state) and look a teacher (or other public sector employee) in the eye and tell them exactly why they don’t get the money.

Or, you could just send them a copy of this post.

Time to get this under control and put little Barry and his gang of misfit progressives out to pasture…

Cave canem!
Never surrender, never submit.

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/why-rich-liberals-want-tax-increases/.

All liberals want people to be taxed more. That is, of course, except them. Liberals love to discuss raising tax rates and forcing more people to pay more of their hard earned cash to the government so that the government can take that money and waste it on programs that support liberals. Welfare, bailouts, union payoffs, all done with tax dollars to keep the liberal base down and dependent on government while forcing others to pay.

Even very wealthy liberals say that the wealthy should pay more in taxes. Bill Clinton says he should be paying more, Michael Moore thinks the wealthy should be paying more and Warren Buffett says the wealthy should be paying more. Buffett is so revered in the Obama regime that a new tax plan is named after him. It matters not that the new tax is based upon a lie (that Buffett pays less in taxes than his secretary) what matters is that the man is advocating more taxes for the rich.

He and other rich liberals like to discuss raising taxes because they do not pay their taxes. John Kerry wants more taxes but docks his yacht in another state to avoid taxes. Charlie Rangel finds ways (mostly illegal ones) to avoid paying taxes. Buffett is no different. Last year Buffett made $62,955,038, making him very rich, but instead of paying his fair share Buffett has been fighting with the IRS for ten years to avoid paying about ONE BILLION dollars in taxes.

Mr. I need to pay more in taxes is fighting the IRS to avoid paying taxes. All liberals who advocate higher taxes (but only on the rich as we define them at any given moment) work very, very hard to avoid paying their own taxes.

Buffett is not different and neither are all the mush brained morons from Hollywood who claim they need to pay more. All of these rich people employ accountants to ensure they pay the IRS as little as possible. Here is a great summation of Buffett’s hypocrisy:

On top of this tax bill, figure the value of the time IRS agents have invested trying to collect it – they don’t work cheap, and we pay their salaries – and the resources Buffett’s people have invested fighting back. All of which would have been saved if Buffett simply practiced what he preached, and willingly handed over his fortune to the brilliant and compassionate “leaders” he commands the rest of us to support without resistance. Human Events

Buffett did not practice what he preaches for the same reason all liberals do not practice what they preach; because they believe the rules do not apply to them.

Buffett is no different…

Do as I say and not as I do, the mantra of the liberal left.

Cave canem!
Never surrender, never submit.

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. She then talked about national security, police, and firefighters. She did not mention those things government decided that had no togetherness to them such as the many social welfare programs. She failed to mention Social Security and how it was enacted and mismanaged.

First of all, government is not those things we decide to do together. Government in this country is the collection of folks We the People have sent to represent us. Government does not decide together with us what we want to do. Government is limited in its power by the Constitution, the Supreme Law of the land. Neither government nor the people, (alone or together) have the authority to do as we please. We have a Constitution that says what the people allow government to do and government is not allowed to work outside of those rules. If we want to change things there is a mechanism to do just that.

Second of all, who is this Congresswoman to decide whether or not we deserve to keep OUR money? What gives her or any other politician the right to tell us how much of OUR property we are allowed to keep? The reality is government does not deserve to have any of our money and only gets it under the authority we allow it.

I know that this woman is one of the typical liberal/Socialists who thinks that it is OK to confiscate property from citizens. She believes that it is perfectly OK so much so that she will decide what you DESERVE to keep.

Here is something that is true. Schakowsky does not deserve to keep here seat in Congress and the Constitution allows the people she represents to decide that issue.

You see Congresswoman, WE get to decide what you deserve (and you do not merit your seat) but you do not have that luxury with regard to us.

Having the authority to tax us (that we gave you) gives you NO authority to decide how much of our property we are worthy of keeping.

Our Founders would be shooting by now…

Cave canem!
Never surrender, never submit.
Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/our-budget-explained-and-other-tid-bits/.

This video explains what is happening in DC and how they play games with our budget in order to keep spending. It makes it quite simple for those among us who think that the government has an unending supply of money or that the money comes from Obama’s “stash.” Though to be quite honest Congress has given Obama a stash of money called the stimulus and it was used to pay off those to whom he owed favors…

When you are done watching that it should be obvious that the recent vote to increase the debt did not do us any good. Since this has been going on for about 100 years it should also come as no shock that they will not fix it and they will not work to fix it. They will continue to use budget gimmicks and accounting tricks to hide the problem until it bites us in the rear end.

At that time we will not be able to fix things and the social programs that liberals love to spend on will go away. Once we can no longer afford them and once we can no longer borrow to pay for them they will have to go away. It is that simple and there will be a lot of unhappy people who have been clueless and do not see it coming. Whether we default or not is a matter of whether we can pay our creditors. As long as we can pay them we are not in default but we will end up eliminating a lot of social programs that we can no longer afford because these morons and their enablers in the hands out crowd did nothing to rein in spending.

Thanks to what they did this week our borrowing immediately surpassed 100% of GDP. That is a recipe for disaster.

Liberals talk about the need to raise the debt ceiling and continue to borrow as a matter of national security. Al Franken and the other morons say that the GOP stance was an invitation to terrorists but the reality is that these people are inviting our enemies in the door. If China decided to cash in what we owe them and demand payment we would be in serious trouble and they could bankrupt us. We would default on that debt and we would have real issues that make the last Obama invented crisis look like a carnival. China will continue to take on more of our debt until the right time for it to pounce on us by demanding payment.

Then we will see how the politicians betrayed us and Franken can stand at the door of the Capitol and hold the welcome sign.

The market will be unsettled through all this and we are either in or heading for a second (or double dip) recession. Some like to claim that this claim has been made so much that if it happens it would be a see I told you so (like predicting rain every day, eventually you would be right) but I said last year that we would hit a double dip in the latter part of this year. It was not a monthly or daily prediction, it was a prediction of what would happen later in 2012 and it looks like we are heading in that direction. The reason for this is the Obama policies.

They are job and economy killers. It is that simple because the policies of Obama have been tried by other big government politicians in the past and they have failed. The New Deal did not fix things (it made them worse) and WW II was the only thing that pulled us out of the Depression. The New Deal helped to add to our present day miseries because it created a class of people dependent on government (this was by design) and LBJ completed this by enslaving minorities to government.

All at a cost to the taxpayers. All at a cost to our national security and all at the eventual risk of our sovereignty.

I do think though, that we can help with some of the budget. They should pass a law that all of the millionaires and billionaires (the real ones not the phony definition Obama uses to sock the middle class) who support Obama with money or by attending his birthday party should be taxed at 100%. Congress should pass a law that those millionaires and billionaires and only those should be required to turn in 100% of their income to pay off the debt.

They claim they want to pay more and they are rich enough. They can afford it and it is their patriotic duty. Yes, I like it. Only the Obama supporting rich will be taxed at 100%.

This will solve our problems and how could any liberal object, the liberal rich need to pay their fair share.

It is for the children…

UPDATE: Look who endorsed Obama for reelection.

Never surrender, never submit.
Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/here-is-your-compromise-mr-obama-we-won/.

To Barack Hussein Obama (mmm, mmm, mmm) it is like November 2010 never happened. Obama took to the airwaves last evening to push his case for raising taxes on Americans in order to pay for the out of control spending that he is now known for. Obama warned that if his bluff was called he would take his message to the people and he did. Fine but he said nothing that amounts to anything.

The first thing he did was blame George W. Bush for the problems we have. The reality, according to then Senator Obama, is that there is a problem because of lack of leadership, and that is Barry’s leadership and not Bush’s who has been out of office for over two years. Remember, it was Obama who said asking to raise the debt limit was a sign of failed leadership.

So after Obama blames Bush he goes on an over 4000 word rant about the situation we are in (that he and the Democrats have put us in) and he said that we need to raise taxes on the rich (defined as those making over $200,000 a year who Obama called millionaires) because they need to pay their fair share. The rich pay almost all the income taxes in this country, period. But Obama wants them to pay their fair share.

Fair to liberals is when you bring a pie to a party, they cut the pie so that they get almost all of it and you get a little sliver. Then they demand you buy another pie for them because you are able to, they deserve it and they have the right to tell you how to spend your money.

Anyway, Obama blamed all of the problems on the Republicans and said they would not compromise. That means they will not raise taxes. Yep, Obama tried to divide and conquer by saying that some Republicans (like Speaker Boehner) want to compromise but the freshmen (read Tea Party backed members) would not go along. He is trying to undermine Boehner and cause fractures among the Republicans.

But that won’t work.

I think I can sum this up and do so by using Obama’s own words. Obama is dismissing the November elections and driving on as if they had never happened. He is asking for compromise and saying that he wants certain things done. He wants a say in the matter.

When Obama first took office and Republicans were in a meeting with him they expressed some of the things they wanted to do and he basically told them that what they wanted did not matter because, “I won.” Obama believed that he got to do things his way because he won the election and that the Republicans or their opinions did not matter.

Fine, but Mr. Obama, last November the Republicans won. They have a very large majority in the House and they have an agenda. They were put in office to hold down spending and cut taxes. They were not put in office to compromise with failed liberal ideology.

In other words Mr. Obama, THEY WON.

They won so they get to do things their way.

That is the standard you set for dealing with compromise.

So deal with it.
