Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/how-to-help-a-messiah/.

Barack Obama is on the ropes with his health care takeover plan and his speech to a joint session of Congress was a Hail Mary pass to bring things back into his favor. His poll numbers have been dropping and his plan has been getting torn to shreds. His lies about the plan are not going to help the cause (yes, he lied but he was owed the apology by Wilson) even though the media wing of the Democratic party will try to portray him as a paragon of virtue and his speech as pure as the driven snow.

The media has to help out Obama because they have so much invested in him and most of them hold the same views as he. So how does one go about helping out a Messiah?

Cook the books!

CNN had an overnight poll to see how the Sainted Won faired and wouldn’t you know it, Obama’s approval on the issue has improved 14 percentage points. This guy is so magical and such a great speaker that he was able to turn the country around in an instant by standing in front of Congress and lying his posterior off.

The only problem is the poll oversampled Democrats and way under sampled Republicans. The sample was 45% Democrat and 18% Republican (with no Independents?) so the results are most definitely skewed.

Obama did not say anything new. Yes, he changed the number of uninsured but most of what he said was the same old story interspersed with tired clichés. And of course there was the obligatory bashing of Republicans and others who disagree with him.

The CNN poll is designed to deceive the public and make those who are opposed believe that the battle is over now that Barry has spoken and “clarified” things for us. CNN is trying to squash any further dissent so that the path to Socialism will be a smooth one.

Don’t let these morons fool you. Obama and his health care takeover plan are in trouble. There are quite a few Democrats in the House who claim that they cannot vote for this, and in the Senate Kennedy is dead and won’t be replaced until next year and Byrd is too sick to vote. The Democrats do not have the votes in the House and they surely do not have them in the Senate. If they pull procedural tricks to ram this through they will pay a heavy price in the 2010 election.

Obama and health care are on the ropes just as they were before he gave the speech. He lied and as those lies are exposed over the next few weeks more and more people will oppose this monstrosity.

People will see that while you are not required to give up your current situation there are elements that will cause you to lose it. Your employer might decide that it is cheaper to pay the government penalty and drop the coverage he provides. Those on Medicare will be provided fewer services because there will be huge cuts in that program to fund the new one. Illegals will most definitely be covered. There is nothing that says they will but there is nothing that says they will not and the Democrats have already voted against several amendments that would have expressly excluded them. That is because the Democrats want to provide them care but have to use the back door to keep from angering voters. Once they have what they want it will not matter.

Yes, Obama lied and with any luck the health care takeover will die.

But until we bury this monster once and for all, the propaganda wing will continue to provide good PR and skewed polls to make the Messiah look heavenly.

Copyright © 2012 Blake. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/did-i-say-that/.

The Resident gave a speech to a Joint Session of Congress last night, during which he decided to change his talking points- which may or may not have been what prompted Rep. Joe Wilson R-SC to yell out what he did- an impromptu shout of “You Lie” directed at the Resident- something many of us at the Town Halls just wish we could do. Joe Wilson is a hero- was he rude? Yes, yes he was; did it need to be said? Yes it did, and should have been said more, even as Hussein began moving the “facts” he uses, going from 47 million people to 30 million people- where did 17 million people go, Mr. Resident?

Or was that also a lie?

In his speech tonight, the president introduced a new number in the health care debate. Remember all those statements from Democrats, including Barack Obama himself, that 47 million Americans are without health insurance? That’s no longer the operative number. “There are now more than thirty million American citizens who cannot get coverage,” the president said in tonight’s speech.

But on August 10, at a town hall meeting, Obama referred to the “46, 47 million people without health insurance in our country…” And on July 23, he said, “This is not just about the 47 million Americans who don’t have any health insurance at all…”

What’s the difference? Obama appears to be choosing his words carefully. There is a difference between Americans who “cannot get coverage” and Americans who “don’t have any health insurance at all.” The interesting question is why Obama has chosen to downgrade the number from 47 million to 30 million. Look for Democrats to begin using the new figure in making the case for Obamacare.

washingtonexaminer.com

Yea, it’s getting down to the nitty- gritty now, and Hussein needs to begin using some real facts here if he wants to make the case- he spent a bunch of his speech “de- bunking” the alleged lies spread by opponents of his little government “make-over”, the death panel stuff, and the abortion stuff, and the illegal alien stuff- none of which he was able to debunk successfully.

OBAMA: “I will not sign a plan that adds one dime to our deficits either now or in the future. Period.”

THE FACTS: Though there’s no final plan yet, the White House and congressional Democrats already have shown they’re ready to skirt the no-new-deficits pledge.

House Democrats offered a bill that the Congressional Budget Officesaid would add $220 billion to the deficit over 10 years. But Democrats and Obama administration officials claimed the bill actually was deficit-neutral. They said they simply didn’t have to count $245 billion of it — the cost of adjusting Medicare reimbursement rates so physicians don’t face big annual pay cuts.

Their reasoning was that they already had decided to exempt this “doc fix” from congressional rules that require new programs to be paid for. In other words, it doesn’t have to be paid for because they decided it doesn’t have to be paid for.

The administration also said that since Obama already had included the doctor payment in his 10-year budget proposal, it didn’t have to be counted again.

That aside, the long-term prognosis for costs of the health care legislation has not been good.

CBO Director Douglas Elmendorf had this to say in July: “We do not see the sort of fundamental changes that would be necessary to reduce the trajectory of federal health spending by a significant amount.

OBAMA: “There are now more than 30 million American citizens who cannot get coverage.”

THE FACTS: Obama time and again has referred to the number of uninsured as 46 million, a figure based on year-old Census data. The new number is based on an analysis by the Kaiser Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured, which concluded that about two-thirds of Americans without insurance are poor or near poor. “These individuals are less likely to be offered employer-sponsored coverage or to be able to afford to purchase their own coverage,” the report said. By using the new figure, Obama avoids criticism that he is including individuals, particularly healthy young people, who choose not to obtain health insurance.

OBAMA: “If you lose your job or change your job, you will be able to get coverage. If you strike out on your own and start a small business, you will be able to get coverage.”

THE FACTS: It’s not just a matter of being able to get coverage. Most people would have to get coverage under the law, if his plan is adopted.

In his speech, Obama endorsed mandatory coverage for individuals, an approach he did not embrace as a candidate.

He proposed during the campaign — as he does now — that larger businesses be required to offer insurance to workers or else pay into a fund. But he rejected the idea of requiring individuals to obtain insurance. He said people would get insurance without being forced to do so by the law, if coverage were made affordable. And he repeatedly criticized his Democratic primary rival, Hillary Rodham Clinton, for proposing to mandate coverage.

“To force people to get health insurance, you’ve got to have a very harsh penalty,” he said in a February 2008debate.

Now, he says, “individuals will be required to carry basic health insurance — just as most states require you to carry auto insurance.”

OBAMA: Requiring insurance companies to cover preventive care like mammograms and colonoscopies “makes sense, it saves money, and it saves lives.”

THE FACTS: Studies have shown that much preventive care — particularly tests like the ones Obama mentions — actually costs money instead of saving it. That’s because detecting acute diseases like breast cancer in their early stages involves testing many people who would never end up developing the disease. The costs of a large number of tests, even if they’re relatively cheap, will outweigh the costs of caring for the minority of people who would have ended up getting sick without the testing.

The Congressional Budget Office wrote in August: “The evidence suggests that for most preventive services, expanded utilization leads to higher, not lower, medical spending overall.”

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/obamas-contradictory-message-to-students/.

Today Barack Obama gave a speech that was sent to many schools across the nation. Certainly other presidents have spoken and had the speech watched in schools as when George H W Bush spoke at a school and it was carried by the MSM which allowed schools to watch it on broadcast TV. Obama directed his speech to all schools. There is a difference in methodology and intent. As an aside, Democrats launched investigations when H W Bush gave his speech. Now the uproar by parents is described as an Animal House food fight.

The message delivered by Obama was pretty benign though it did have a subtle political subtext. There were items that were disturbing but for the most part it was a rah rah speech. It disturbs me that Obama wants people to do well in school so they will benefit the nation because it smacks of statism. You do well for yourself as an individual and to become a productive member of society. He could have left out all the hot topics but he mixed them in in such a way that they appeared benign though it is not unlikely he was working to make millions of little community organizers..

The real issue is that Obama implored children to do something he does not believe in. Obama told them that the responsibility for success is ultimately on them and that they need to work hard to achieve. He told them that they needed to do well and be responsible for themselves so that they can achieve.

Obama does not believe in personal responsibility and his whole adult life involves having the government take care of people. He does not tell people to be responsible for their own health care management and to cut the luxuries out of their lives or to pay their medical bills over time. He does not tell auto companies (or any other company) that they need to be responsible or suffer failure. No, he bails them out. He uses taxpayer money to assist them instead of letting them fail should they be unable to compete. In everyday life Obama feels that you are not responsible for your actions and that government must be there to ensure that things are fair and the playing field is level.

Perhaps Obama should reflect upon what he told the students and start expecting that same behavior from the people in this country who want a free ride on the people who produce. Maybe instead of working to ensure all people are covered at the expense of those who pay taxes, Obama could require people to be responsible for their own lots in life. Maybe Obama could implore the members of Congress to start taking responsibility for their jobs and stop trying to become the big nanny state where government provides for everyone at the expense of the achievers.

How much different would things have been if candidate Obama had told people that they needed to be responsible for their lives and that ultimately it fell on them? Instead, he spoke about how he would lower the oceans and how people would pay less for their houses and gas. Peggy the moocher summed up the feelings of many when she said that Obama will make sure her house payments and gas are paid for. Too many people expect the government to be there to hand them everything they need.

Where is the speech telling them to be responsible? Where is the speech telling people that if they signed contracts to buy houses they could not afford they deserved to lose them? Where was the speech telling people that if they made bad investments they deserved to lose their money? Where was the speech telling GM that if it could not run a profitable business then it deserved to go belly up? Where was the speech telling bank and Wall Street executives that if they ran their companies into the ground with risky schemes then they deserved to go under? These things would have demonstrated a belief in responsibility.

Since Obama has never been responsible for much of anything it is easy to see why he does not expect other adults to be. Government will be there to do it for you because the Community Organizer in Chief will make it so.

The speech to the school children was nothing like those he gives to the American public and was contrary to his actual beliefs.

If Obama actually lived by what he told the children (and held Congress to the same standard) then we would not be in nearly as much trouble.

Copyright © 2012 Blake. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/the-residents-speech/.

Well, I have read the text of the speech that BHO will be giving to America’s schoolchildren, and on the face of it, it seems innocent enough- but I still have reservations about it, simply because many of the students will not understand it.

This is because the Resident is still in campaign mode (has he ever stopped?), and the words he uses may or may not be understood by those who are in junior high or high school, but they will not be understood by very many others who are younger, simply because he uses words they might not have encountered yet. This may, at least for an English teacher, be the true lesson here, but otherwise, for many students, it’s time to doodle in their notebooks. Here’s an example. Also note the subtle propaganda- that is to be expected.

“You’ll need the knowledge and problem-solving skills you learn in science and math to cure diseases like cancer and AIDS, and to develop new energy technologies and protect our environment. You’ll need the insights and critical thinking skills you gain in history and social studies to fight poverty and homelessness, crime and discrimination, and make our nation more fair and more free. You’ll need the creativity and ingenuity you develop in all your classes to build new companies that will create new jobs and boost our economy.”

Now, I don’t know where he gets his facts, but the sad fact is that very little real history is taught in schools these days- one day on the Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights, and about one to two days on the Revolutionary or Civil wars.

Instead, all the emphasis is on the civil rights era- which is important, but without the teaching of prior history to lay the foundation, is kind of a “floating”, aimless history with no anchors in the past.

If a person wants to be effective in the future, he or she must know what mistakes were made in the past. That way, they are not repeated. The Resident’s foray into economics should be a good lesson in the mistakes of the past for all economics courses.

“No one’s born being good at things, you become good at things through hard work. You’re not a varsity athlete the first time you play a new sport. You don’t hit every note the first time you sing a song. You’ve got to practice. It’s the same with your schoolwork. You might have to do a math problem a few times before you get it right, or read something a few times before you understand it, or do a few drafts of a paper before it’s good enough to hand in.”

“Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it. I do that every day. Asking for help isn’t a sign of weakness, it’s a sign of strength. It shows you have the courage to admit when you don’t know something, and to learn something new. So find an adult you trust – a parent, grandparent or teacher; a coach or counselor – and ask them to help you stay on track to meet your goals.”

The speech is OK- I believe it is short of inspirational, but then I think he should actually think of the words he is saying- perhaps they could help him also- particularly the last paragraph there. His problem in his life has been the adults he has trusted- I wouldn’t put Rahm Emanuel, John Holdren, Cass Sunstein, or many of the others he has surrounded himself with to be shining examples of good company- you are known by the company you keep, and this company is the kind your parents warned you about- they are like Eddie Haskell- they are bound to get a person in trouble.

And in the end, that may be the lesson these students end up learning from the Resident.

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/barack-obama-is-misleading-america/.

Today marks the 100th day of the Obama Residency and he marked the occasion by holding a prime time press conference. I did not watch it but I have read about it. I did not watch because I have had enough of him and I knew what he was going to say. He basically told everyone how wonderful he is, what a great job he is doing, how much hard work is left to do, and that George Bush is to blame for any of the bad stuff.

I have written before that Obama does not really understand the Constitution and that he has stated that it has too many restrictions that he wanted (and wants?) the Supreme Court to remove. This guy is a lawyer and he was reported to be a Constitutional scholar but he knows very little about the Constitution except what Bill Ayers told him while they were passing a bong around. One thing is also clear from the speech tonight and that is; Barack Obama lies through his teeth or he does not understand the law, or both.

Specifically:

President Barack Obama said Wednesday night that waterboarding authorized by former President George W. Bush was torture, and the information gained from terror suspects through its use could have been obtained by other means. “In some cases it may be harder,” he conceded at a White House news conference marking a whirlwind first 100 days in office. Breitbart

I want you liberals to read this carefully and I want you to try to understand. Waterboarding is not torture under the definition of torture established by the Congress, an august body to which Barack Obama once belonged. It does not matter how you FEEL about waterboarding and it does not matter if you THINK it is torture, the fact is that Congress has decided that it is not.

The memos that Obama released are very lengthy and contain a great deal of legal opinion on the issue and they reference Congresses’ definition of torture and use it to come to their conclusions. Waterboarding is not torture which might explain why Nancy Pelosi voiced no objection to it when she was briefed on it at the time. Yes boys and girls, despite her objections and denials, Nancy Pelosi was at the meetings and she was told about waterboarding and the plans to use it. She told the CIA to do more (more work to get information).

The Bush administration allowed these enhanced interrogation techniques to take place because they were in accordance with the law. It does not matter that Obama says waterboarding is torture. What matters is the law and what real lawyers who actually practiced it had to say about it. I imagine if Obama insists on prosecuting the legal folks who rendered the opinions they might end up at the Supreme Court. It would be interesting to see what they have to say about the law Congress wrote.

In any event, Obama is continuing to blame Bush for things that are in the past. He was merely applying blame and mentioning torture to justify his stupid release of classified memos, and act that many have criticized. The release will have a chilling effect on how our intelligence gathering efforts move forward and function. Obama had to make it look like he did the right thing so he called waterboarding torture so he could claim to have brought it all to light.

He is, after all, all about transparency. He had to release those memos and it was all about transparency. Let me clear that up as well. Obama released those memos for political gain. He has not released any of the memos that show how successful enhanced interrogation was because it would not allow him to score points by claiming to be the one who stopped torture. If Obama were so interested in transparency he would release his original birth certificate. The REAL one that is hand or type written with ink signatures from a doctor. The REAL one that contains all the pertinent information. If he really believed in transparency he would do that.

He is not in favor of transparency. He only wants you to see what he decides you should see. It seems to me that if you claim to be transparent then it means you are transparent in everything.

Interestingly, the release of the memos might hurt him in the future. If he prosecutes those who rendered the opinions then those lawyers in his administration who will be asked to render opinions might be a bit gun shy if they think the next administration can come after them for doing their jobs. They might not give good opinions or ones that he wants because of fear, a fear he will have created through his stupidity.

Obama is still on this kick that he can blame everything on Bush and get away with it. That will work for a while with the moonbats who follow him but it is already wearing thin to those of us who believe he is full of excuses and an apologist for American greatness.

Barack Obama is only interested in remaking America. He wants to make it into a Socialist nation where government is huge and takes care of everyone by taking from those who produce and giving it to those who mooch off them. He does not understand the Constitution or he ignores it (either is bad) and he puts politics above what is good for this country.

He is a political hack and he is amounting to one huge failure.

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/mccain-is-solid-in-big-moment/.

John McCain accepted the nomination of the Republican Party and delivered a solid speech though one not nearly as rousing as those given by Barack Obama and Sarah Palin. McCain’s task, as I saw it, was to show Americans that he was not out of touch and that he understood their challenges. Since his selection of Palin to be Vice President has energized the base, I saw McCain’s task as appealing to the Independent voters and those moderate Democrats who might not be committed or sold on Obama.

McCain’s speech was solid but the truth is he is not as eloquent a speaker as Palin or Obama. In fact, though I felt Palin’s speech last night worried some Democrats, the thought I had first was that I felt sorry for McCain because he had to follow her.

Surprisingly, though not as gifted a speaker, McCain hit home with issues that affect families. He discussed the struggles of paying for a home, buying groceries and filling the gas tank. This hit home and showed that despite what Barack Obama says, John McCain does get it. When McCain went into his life story he really gave a heartfelt account.

I did not want John McCain to discuss his experience in Vietnam. The Democrats have been beating on him for expressing that part of his life too much. John McCain has a much more honorable record in that war than John Kerry but I felt he risked being painted with the same brush that Kerry was by leaning too heavily on that experience, as honorable as it was. Besides, every speaker this week recounted the story for John. But McCain did discuss it and he was artful in how he presented it. He started by telling people that his experience as a POW was a blessing and then he told the story of how, prior to his capture, he was a self centered person who believed the world revolved around him. He explained how his capture transformed him into a person who places his country first and the needs of others above one’s own needs. That transformation came after others cared for him and kept him alive. It was presented very well.

Certainly John McCain’s speech was not of the caliber of Obama’s or Palin’s but he did what he had to do. He showed people that he gets it and I think he appealed to voters who are not part of the base. He reached out to Obama supporters and then he skillfully contrasted what he wants to do with what Obama wants to do. I think that many on the fence who are moderate will find John McCain’s positions more appealing and that Barack Obama cannot compete with his life experiences.

All in all, a solid speech. Not spectacular, but solid. It would have been a bit smoother if the people in the hall had not interrupted him at inappropriate times but he was able to get through that. He handled the moonbat who tried to disrupt the speech with a bit of humor and quickly refocused the attention of those listening, back to him. Notice that the only people causing trouble at both conventions were liberals.

The next 2 months will be very interesting. Sarah Palin has energized the party and we now have a real contest on our hands. Today’s poll has them dead even. it will be interesting to see what tomorrow’s brings.

I will be interviewed by Dennis Edwards on WSBA (910 am) out of York* PA tomorrow a little after 6 am Eastern about my thoughts on John McCain’s speech.
Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/sarah-palin-cleans-their-clocks/.

Hockey Mom; She shoots, she scores!

Sarah Palin just finished her speech at the Republican National Convention and she was absolutely brilliant. She introduced herself and her family. She discussed her career and personal life and she made the case for John McCain. Then she went after the Democrats and she did to them what Jesse Jackson could only talk about doing.

I think she left no doubt that she will be no pushover and that she can hold her own. Obama made a mistake when he ignored the fact that she is a governor not one but twice. He recently said that he had more executive experience than she because he has a campaign staff of a couple thousand with a monthly budget three times the one she had as mayor. He ignored the fact that she is a governor for good reason. Her budget is 11 billion dollars annually and she has about 25,000 people she is in charge of. His experience cannot match up to hers and he knows it. If he were not worried about her he would not be trying to prove he has more leadership experience.

Obama’s camp came out with its statement immediately after her speech. They indicated that her speech was written by George Bush’s speech writer and demonstrated the same divisive politics that Bush did. The campaign also said that McCain agreed with Bush 90% of the time and the country should not go for a 10% change.

I wonder if Obama will tell us which speech writer wrote his speech. I also wonder if he realizes that his speech near his palatial stage was full of divisive politics. He was vicious to John McCain and Republicans. I guess that is not divisive because he is a Democrat.

Palin eviscerated and emasculated Barack Obama and she smiled the entire time. She demonstrated that she will not be taken lightly and that she has a bit of bulldog in her. I said before that the Democrats were afraid and I am even more convinced of that. Want more proof? Joe Biden said today that an Obama would pursue criminal charges against George Bush if elected in November. There is only one reason this was said. Biden said it to ensure he can pull those Democrats who are upset that impeachment is off the table that they need to elect Obama to get what they want. It was a statement made out of FEAR.

I think that Saracuda has them worried and shaking in their pants. They might say otherwise but I can smell the fear. As Ann Coulter put it:

The bien-pensant criticized Palin, saying it’s irresponsible for a woman with five children to run for vice president. Liberals’ new talking point: Sarah Palin: Only five abortions away from the presidency.

They claimed her newborn wasn’t her child, but the child of her 17-year-old daughter. That turned out to be a lie.

Then they attacked her daughter, who actually is pregnant now, for being unmarried. When liberals start acting like they’re opposed to pre-marital sex and mothers having careers, you know McCain’s vice presidential choice has knocked them back on their heels.

But at least liberal reporters had finally found someone their own size to pick on: a 17-year-old girl.[bold emphasis mine]

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/obamas-acceptance-speech-my-thoughts/.

Let me start off by saying I think Barack Obama gave a great speech tonight. I don’t mean that he told the truth or answered the nagging questions voters still have. What I mean is he had great delivery and he knows how to effectively communicate. I get the impression that, much like Bill Clinton, Obama could sound great reading the phone book.

His speech content though, lacked a few items. He tried to address what his change was by giving us a laundry list of things he would do. He will end oil dependence in 10 years. If he gets elected twice he will only be in office for 8 so how will he do this. The list was nothing more than the basic Democratic talking points that we hear at every convention. He told us what he would do but failed to say how, considering that we have been told this before, he would do it. I would not expect details in an acceptance speech but if he says that he will tell me how he will effect change I expect the how, not the what.

I noticed that he addressed the attacks from John McCain. He did a good job of striking back but by doing so he presented himself as a typical politician and not an agent of change. He explained that Republicans used fear to sway voters and then told us all the horrors we face and how we would get more of them if we elected McCain. Sounded like fear mongering.

He tried to smooth over the debacle of his abortion answers by saying that we can disagree on abortion but all agree that we should reduce unwanted pregnancies. Obama is not qualified to discuss abortion or to disagree with anything. He made it clear that the determination of when life begins is above his pay grade. If he cannot determine when life begins he cannot argue abortion. How will he know when you can and when you cannot if he does not know when life begins. At least abortion supporters will say life begins at birth. They have a foundation upon which to base their position. Obama lacks that because it is above his pay grade.

Obama also said we could disagree on guns but that we could uphold the Second Amendment by allowing guns in rural areas while keeping AK 47s off the violent streets of Chicago. First of all, it is illegal to own an AK 47 without a special license because it is an automatic weapon. Criminals who are killing with AK 47s are breaking the law and the Second Amendment is a moot point. They are not allowed to possess that weapon (or any weapon because they are criminals). The second thing I want to know is why Chicago has so much gun violence. The city has one of the toughest gun laws in the country so, if gun control works, there should be little to no gun violence. How about we uphold the Second Amendment for law abiding citizens, the ones who do not use guns to murder?

Obama also said that the average annual income in the US has gone down over $2000 under Bush’s administration. The fact is it did go down after 9/11 but it has been up and this year it was a little over $700 above the 2000 level. This is not great but it is not a $2000 loss.

The speech was well delivered but it lacked a lot of truth (like Obama was raised by his mother or that he came from a meager background. Granny was able to put him in private school). It lacked substance and was designed to allow him to hit back at McCain and try to revive his image as an agent of change.

At one point he said that politicians had been promising something (I think oil independence) for 30 years, and by the way McCain was there for 26 of them. He did fail to mention that Joe Biden was there for all 30 and then some. I imagine that might have taken away from the attack and negated the entire agent of change thing he had going on.

John McCain, Obama said, wants to privatize Social Security. He wants to gamble with your money. Obama plans to raise SS taxes (though he failed to mention that he would raise taxes, he just said he would fix it) in order to rescue it. My question is, if government is not a gamble why does SS need to be rescued.

I will say this. John McCain has his work cut out for him next week. There are a lot of people in this country who pick style over substance and one thing is for sure; McCain is no match for Obama on style. McCain lacks the communication skills that Obama exhibits so effortlessly. McCain had better have writers working overtime to produce something dynamic or he might add more to the expected Obama bounce. The one thing McCain has going is that debates are not scripted and there are no teleprompters. Speaking f debates, Barry said that if McCain wanted to debate who had the temperament to be Commander in Chief, that is one debate he was willing to have. McCain invited Obama to 10 Town Hall debates over the Summer and Obama declined and has ducked the issue (no teleprompter). Part of McCain’s speech should be a challenge to that debate within 10 days and in a Town Hall format. Then we will see how willing the Sainted One really is.

Nice speech Barry. Next time try adding a little truth and some detail.

I wonder if the Broncos will be able to play football there anymore? The One was in the middle of the field and 85,000 smelly liberals infested the place. Denver will probably go 6-10 this year because of this curse…

On July 11th of this year Barack Obama told people at a Town Hall meeting in Dayton Ohio that he did not speak a foreign language and that he was embarrassed by that.

“I don’t speak a foreign language. It’s embarrassing!” Barack Obama exclaimed today at town hall meeting here. Obama, who often touts his time growing up overseas, made the confession while speaking about the importance of teaching foreign languages in schools. [emphasis added] CBS News

As Barack Obama prepares to give his campaign speech in Germany he has been taking questions from reporters. One asked him if his speech would be in German and this was the response:

“My German is not real good,” he said. “I can speak Bahasi Indonesian but I don’t think…there would be a lot of appeal to that.” [emphasis added] ABC Political Punch

So now the question is, which time was he lying. Was he lying at the Town Hall meeting in order to defuse the tense environment surrounding his statement that parents should be ensuring their children learn Spanish (not any foreign language but Spanish) or was he lying when he answered the question in Germany.

The over arching question is, why would he lie about it in the first place? What is the motivation behind his very different answers?

Obama definitely has a problem with the truth. I wonder if any of the fawning media accompanying him will ask him about the contradiction…

Get real, they are too busy having tingles up their legs.

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/time-to-set-obama-straight/.

Barack Obama is running as the candidate of change (that is the buzz word this cycle) and he wants us to know that he will make things in Washington different. This is the same claim that all candidates make and none of them ever do anything except spend money. Obama took the opportunity to record his own response to President Bush’s State of the Union. Fortunately, there is a transcript so we can set this young buck straight.

Tonight’s State of the Union was full of the same empty rhetoric the American people have come to expect from this President. We heard President Bush say he’d do something to cut down on special interest earmarks, but we know these earmarks have skyrocketed under his administration.

It is important to remember that the president does not put in the earmarks, he just signs the bills and Bush has signed way too many. Members of Congress put the earmarks in and this is an old practice that has gotten worse over the years. As a matter of fact Senator Obama, you put in nearly 400 MILLION dollars in earmarks this last year. You can talk change and say that they have increased under this president bu the fact is both parties are doing it and you are one of the very people who is earmarking millions of taxpayer dollars. So tell me again about empty rhetoric.

We heard the President say he wants to make tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans permanent, when we know that at a time of war and economic hardship, the last thing we need is a permanent tax cut for Americans who don’t need them and weren’t even asking for them. What we need is a middle class tax cut, and that’s exactly what I will provide as President.

I did not hear the president say anything about tax cuts for the rich. He said we need to make the tax cuts permanent. Those tax cuts were across the board but you are probably too dense to understand that people who pay the taxes get the money back. The president said that there would be 115 million people whose tax would increase if the cuts were not made permanent. I have news for you Senator, there are not 115 million rich people paying taxes in this country so that must mean that the average wage earners will be hurt by this. Logically, that means that average wage earners are benefiting from the tax cuts. The whole idea about tax cuts for the rich is a tired song that uninformed Democrats sing when they are playing class warfare. Therefore the Middle class did get a tax cut and what is more, millions of people who paid no taxes at all will be getting money from the government as part of the stimulus package. One other thing, the bottom 50% of wage earners pay about 3.5% of the taxes in this country so how are you going to give them a tax cut? The top 25% of wage earners pay 86% of the taxes so what we would have is a redistribution of wealth, or Socialism.

We heard the President say he has a stimulus plan to boost our economy, but we know his plan leaves out seniors and fails to expand unemployment insurance, and we know it was George Bush’s Washington that let the banks and financial institutions run amok, and take our economy down this dangerous road. What we need to do now is put more money in the pockets of workers and seniors, and expand unemployment insurance for more people and more time. And I have a plan that to do just that.

As I already stated, the stimulus package gives money to a lot of people who have no financial stake in this country. They do not make enough to pay taxes and they get benefits from the government and now they are getting checks paid for by others. The stimulus package is a bad idea and it will only provide, at best, a short term solution. There are a number of other things that need to be done to get the economy up and running. Let us also be clear that the Congress has a great deal of responsibility for banks run amok and the housing crisis. Congress made a bunch of rules that forced financial institutions to make loans to people who would not otherwise qualify so as to prevent discrimination. Now those people cannot afford their homes and the government wants to fix the mess it created. Let financial institutions run themselves and decide who to loan their money to. Congress cannot get its own house in order so it should not be telling others how to do business.

And finally, tonight we heard President Bush say that the surge in Iraq is working, when we know that’s just not true. Yes, our valiant soldiers have helped reduce the violence. Five soldiers gave their lives today in this cause, and we mourn their loss and pray for their families.

But let there be no doubt – the Iraqi government has failed to seize the moment to reach the compromises necessary for an enduring peace. That was what we were told the surge was all about. So the only way we’re finally going to pressure the Iraqis to reconcile and take responsibility for their future is to immediately begin the responsible withdrawal of our combat brigades so that we can bring all of our combat troops home.

The surge is absolutely working. You cry about the Iraqi government not responding quickly enough. They have failed to seize the moment. So tell me Senator, how are they any different from our government? You people do not work any faster, you take off more days a year than you work (you and the others have been campaigning for a year) and you do things slowly. You do not work together, you cannot get anything passed and you are extremely dysfunctional. To top it off Barack, we are not at war here so it is not like you all have to worry about getting killed trying to do your job. Leaving is not an option until we win but you will not have to worry. If your cowardly butt gets elected a bunch of those troops will probably not reenlist because no one wants to serve under a Commander in Chief who espouses defeat.

I will leave the rest of your little soapbox speech alone because I get quite sick reading all your lies and pleas for the poor folks and your desire for socialism. You continue to say that you are about change but you are no different than the rest of them. You deride people because they demonize opponents and then you spend 5 minutes doing that to the president.

President Bush is not the greatest President we have ever had but he is a hell of a lot better than the Carter and Clinton debacles. We have been safe despite your assertion to the contrary and under him we took the fight to our enemies. I know that pains you because you have relatives in the Muslim world but they are the enemy and you are either with us or you are against us.

You do not deserve to be the President of this country. You are a fraud and people will know about you the more you are out there. Hillary will destroy us and you will just bring more sex scandals[Obama sex scandal?] to the White House.
