Cover-Up Uncovers More Allegations

Last year Joe Sestak told America he had been offered a job to drop out of the Senate primary that pitted him against Arlen Specter. Sestak, when asked about the job offer, never varied in what he said. His accounts were identical and, according to him, involved multiple (that means more than one) overtures from the Obama regime. The allegations resulted in an absolute denial from the White House:

A White House spokesman this morning strongly denied an offer had been made to Sestak. Before the spokesman issued the denial, a senior Pennsylvania Democrat said Sestak’s account was met with anger by White House officials yesterday. Philly.com

Strongly denied. This response tells us that an offer had NOT been made. Sestak went on to defeat Specter and the controversy reignited. Obama was asked about it and said that information would soon be released. Within a few days the statement came out and lo and behold, a job offer was made. The White House, despite initial denials, now says a job offer was made but it was a non paying job and that nothing inappropriate happened. If nothing inappropriate happened then why the initial denial? If this was not a problem, why did they have to bring in Clinton to clean up the mess?

The White House is stonewalling efforts to get to the bottom of this as Obama’s toadies circle the wagons and repeat their mantra that there is nothing to see here so we should all move along.

The problem is that this is not the only allegation of a quid pro quo. Late last year it was revealed that Democrat Senate Candidate Andrew Romanoff of Colorado was offered a job if he would leave the primary race. Romanoff was cagey in his responses to the matter (perhaps he understood the illegality better than Sestak) and the matter was forgotten.

Now that the White House has admitted that it did in fact offer Sestak a job and that it lied about doing so, the allegations involving Romanoff have resurfaced. The AP is reporting that its sources in the regime have stated that a job was in fact offered to Romanoff to drop out:

The Obama administration dangled the possibility of a government job for former Colorado House Speaker Andrew Romanoff last year in hopes he would forgo a challenge to Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet, officials said Wednesday, just days after the White House admitted orchestrating a job offer in the Pennsylvania Senate race.

This is an interesting twist because some are still denying that a job was ever offered. Are we to believe that assertion given that the regime lied about the Sestak offer?

Obama brought Chicago style politics to DC and the thuggery on a national level is not sitting well with the public.

It is against the law to offer a job to someone in exchange for some action that will affect an election. There are several laws that explicitly spell this out and it looks like the Obama regime violated them. Only an independent investigation will bear this out but that idea is meeting resistance. If nothing wrong took place then why object to an independent review of the matter?

If this whole sordid mess that Obama’s regime has been involved in is only business as usual (something he told us would not happen if he were elected) then why is former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich facing many years in prison for shopping the Senate seat Obama held around? All Blago did was shop the seat around to see what deals were out there. He looked for deals that would benefit him.

This is no different than what the Obama regime has been doing. They shopped job offers to get deals they thought benefited them.

While the liberals who fawn over Obama and hang on his every word eagerly anticipating the next bit of brilliance to come from his mouth are rabidly defending him, the American public is looking at the pattern of abuse and lawbreaking that seems to come at an increased rate and it is not happy.

The cover-up of Watergate brought down the Nixon Presidency because the cover-up is always worse than the crime and the cover-up is where people get tripped up.

Obama and his minions are involved in a cover-up.

This will end Sestak’s journey to the Senate and could end up derailing hope and change.

Never surrender, never submit.

How Much More Should The Rich Pay

Joe Biden said that people who did not pay their fair share were unpatriotic. He told us it was time for everyone to pay their fair share. What he meant to say was that the wealthy, the ones who pay most of the federal taxes in this country, had to pay more while 47% of wage earners paid no federal taxes. I want to ensure that I point out that it is federal taxes because even though we discuss federal officials and their desire for more taxes to the federal government there are still people who are a little slow and will tell me that all wage earners pay Social Security or some moronic thing.

Anyway, Hillary Clinton is on the bandwagon again and she said the rich do not pay enough taxes. There are quite a few wealthy liberals who agree with her but strangely enough, none of them write checks to the government for the increase they think they should pay.

Make no mistake about this. Any citizen can write a check for any amount (that he can afford) to the Treasury in order to pay off the debt. If liberals think they should pay more in taxes then they can write a check to pay more. None of them do. You know that none of them do because if they did they would brag about it and it would run nonstop on the state run media. None of them have sent extra money and they all look for ways to reduce their tax burdens.

They want the rich to pay more but only the other rich people.

Clinton is a liberal moron (though she would have been better than Obama) and this is the creed that liberal morons live by. Tax the rich because even though they pay most of the federal taxes in this country they do not pay enough to satisfy the overlords in DC.

If you are a rich person and you agree with Clinton then take out your checkbook and write a hefty check to the Treasury. If you are a rich person who agrees with her and you do not do this then you are a hypocrite and need to stop calling for higher taxes because you really don’t want them.

If you are rich and don’t agree with Clinton then stop donating your money to any of the morons in DC. Especially ignore the requests of the liberals who want to raise your taxes.

It is time to stop feeding the beast.

And it is time for Hillary to write a big check to the Treasury.

As an aside, has she paid off her campaign debt yet? She is begging for others to pay her debt and she has over 100 million dollars in the bank. Isn’t amazing how she always wants to use someone else’s money?

Of course, her hubby made a deal with Obama to help with the cover-up of the Sestak bribe so maybe her debt will magically disappear.

Bill did not get involved for free…

Never surrender, never submit.

And So The Cover-Up Begins…

Joe Sestak is running for the Senate Seat currently held by Arlen Specter. During the primary the White House offered Sestak a position in the regime to drop out of the race. Obama owed Specter his thirty pieces of silver for switching parties and this was one attempt to get competition out of the way. The only problem is that Sestak was having none of this and he blabbed that he was offered a position to drop out.

His story was consistent all along and he disclosed the information when he was not overly happy with the White House. In other words, he was not worried about protecting anyone. The White House has been saying that nothing happened, it was not illegal and that we should all move on. The people who said they would be most transparent are covering up a crime.

Look at how these pieces fell into place. Bill Clinton was in DC and happened to have lunch with Obama and the regime’s people made contact with Sestak’s campaign manager (who happens to be his brother). Then, miraculously, we learn that it was Bill Clinton who made the offer to Sestak and that the offer was for a non paid job so no crime here, nothing to see, move along.

Was Clinton in DC and was Sestak’s brother contacted so that the conspirators could get their stories straight. Did Clinton actually make the offer or is he taking the heat to keep it away from the White House? I can’t imagine him being that noble so look for him to get some ambassadorship or something similar in a few months. It is also interesting that Sestak is ratcheting back his previous assertions. What took place?

No matter what, the statement released by the White House is inadequate and only adds more fuel to the fire. There is the claim that Clinton contacted Sestak and a non paying job offer was discussed. That is illegal, paid or not. But put that aside and look at the rest. The memo released indicates that several contacts were made with Sestak and there is no explanation as to what took place during them.

The regime has dropped this information on a Friday before a three day weekend in hopes it would get buried but it will not. It looks like the Obama regime has been caught in a pay to play scheme that could land people in jail. There is a heck of a lot more evidence here to indicate that Obama and his people were involved in wrongdoing than there was in the Plame case as it related to George Bush so one would expect the MSM to be circling like sharks in bloody water just as they were during Plame.

But that will not happen because the MSM is full of Obama lap dogs who make excuses and cover up his criminal activity. If Obama were a Republican we would already have Woodward and Bernstein digging through the trash.

This whole affair (funny how we can once again use that word and Clinton in the same light) needs to be investigated by an independent party. We do not need a special prosecutor right now but we need someone outside the crime ring to be investigating. The entire investigation of this issue was conducted by White House lawyers under the direction of people working for the regime. They investigated themselves and expect us to think that they were honest and above board in doing so.

Sorry, that is not how things work.

For all you libs who think this is OK keep in mind that your leader and his Democrats in Congress are pushing for more control over the financial institutions. The claims are that the financial industry cannot have oversight over itself and requires monitoring from the outside. How can the same people who make these kinds of claims think it is OK for the White House to investigate itself in an issue with possible criminal activity?

Yeah, imagine if Bush would have said that the White House investigated the Plame issue and there was no wrongdoing. Do you supposed the MSM would have been OK with that?

There was criminal activity involving the Obama White House and it needs to be investigated.

Sestak Obligated To Report The Details Of Crime

Joe Sestak won the Democrat primary in Pennsylvania beating Arlen Specter for a seat in the US Senate. This was a very sweet victory because Specter switched parties and the only reason he switched was so he could win reelection. When he discussed changing parties he had a promise from Obama that he would get his full support int he campaign.

Obama made one appearance and then was AWOL (though maybe Specter asked him not to come again) but one thing that Obama did do was try to buy off Sestak. According to Joe Sestak, someone in the regime offered him a position in the government (speculation is it was Secretary of the Navy) if he would drop out of the race. This would give Specter the primary win but he would have lost to his Republican challenger in November.

In any event, the offer to Sestak, a job to leave the race, appears to be a violation of federal election laws.

This subject was brought up again Meet the Press and Sesatk confirmed that the incident happened but refused to go any deeper. He said that he has said it happened and that if there is any further disclosure about it then it should come from others (those involved).

It seems to me that if someone made him an offer that was a possible violation of the law then he is obligated to report the violation and give the details. He does not have to do it in the press but he needs to report ALL that he knows to law enforcement (and perhaps he has).

If he thinks the others who are involved are obligated to report their potential misdeeds then he is misguided. People are not obligated to incriminate themselves. It is up to Sestak, in this case, to disclose who made the offer and any other details so that it can be investigated.

If he wants to gain the trust of the people this is a poor way to go about it.

Sestak will likely lose in November so maybe he is waiting until then to be sure before he talks…

Ben Nelson Should Have Waited

Ben Nelson sold his political career in the US Senate for Obamacare. Nelson was opposed to provisions of the plan and eventually took a payoff to give his vote even though the payoff did not correct that to which he was opposed. It did, however, give him a provision that requires the rest of the country to pay the tab for Nebraska’s Medicare.

Ever since Nelson sold is soul for party politics his constituents have been letting him have an earful and he has been running around trying to explain why he sold out. Nelson is now saying that Democrats should have waited on health care and focused on the economy.

Mr. Nelson, YOU could have forced them to wait. You claim that Democrats should have waited but you had the power to slow down the process and allow the debate (such that it was with Republicans blocked out) to continue. You sold your vote and now you are trying to blame your party.

You are really a pathetic little man. You voted for the bill and regardless of the reason you should have the testicular fortitude to stand up and take responsibility for YOUR vote. The voters know why you did it so all the rationalizing in the world is not going to save you on this issue. Be a man and accept the responsibility for your actions. The only thing you have going for you is that you are not up for reelection until 2012 but I believe that will be the end of your time in the Senate. Nebraskans will not forget how you betrayed them and how you sold your vote in favor of party politics.

You folks in the great state of Nebraska need to keep pressure on this little man and hold him accountable. It did not take C-SPAN for Americans to see how Nelson betrayed is constituents.

Speaking of C-SPAN, CBS is now on the Obama is not transparent bandwagon. In a piece entitled, Obama Reneges on Health Care Transparency, CBS reports:

During the campaign, though, candidate Obama regularly promised something different – to broadcast all such negotiations on C-SPAN, putting the entire process of pounding out health care reform out in the open. (That promise applied to the now-completed processing of forging House and Senate bills, too.)

Back when Republicans controlled Congress and George W. Bush was in the White House, it was Democrats who angrily complained about secret backroom deals.

Now the roles are reversed.

CBS and the rest of the Lame Stream Media carried the water for Obama and helped him get elected. He could not have gotten better treatment from them if he had paid them to campaign for him (and maybe he did) so it is interesting that CBS would point out this glaring lie that is Obama. But in a fashion for which the LSM is known, CBS comes to the table just a little bit late in the discussion. From the start of this debate it was obvious that it would not be transparent and that Democrats were hiding in rooms with the doors closed negotiating under cover of darkness. Democrats went extremely covert after Town Hall meetings in August where constituents let them have it with both barrels. Rather than address constituent concerns or take a new look, Democrats hunkered down in bunkers away from the public’s eye. Welcome to the party CBS, even if you are many months too late.

How long before you report on the moon landing?

As for cover of darkness, a Pennsylvania Democrat looking to unseat Arlen Specter, says that the blame for the drop in public support falls squarely on the Democrats.

Rep. Joe Sestak blames Democratic leaders for the plunge in public support for overhauling the health care system, saying Wednesday they failed to defend proposals that helped carry the party to victories in 2008.

“They said it would be transparent. Why isn’t it?” said Sestak, a Delaware County Democrat, in a meeting with Tribune-Review editors and reporters. “At times, I find the caucus is a real disappointment. We aren’t transparent, not just to the public but at times to the members.” Pittsburgh Tribune

CBS is pointing out the Democrat’s lack of transparency and a Democrat is pointing out the same thing and blaming it, in part, for the lack of support. When Republicans complain about the lack of transparency we are greeted with assurances that this has been the most transparent administration and Congress in history.

Evidently, some of their own are finding that the only transparency involved is how transparent the lies are.

UPDATE: Jack Cafferty of CNN rips Obama on transparency and hopes voters remember this in the midterm elections.
