Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/it-must-be-getting-close-to-campaign-time/.

Whenever the elections roll around we are sure to be inundated by politicians telling us all the wonderful things they will do. When they get into office they change their minds and then when they run again, magically, they run on what they promised in the first place. Tragically, the population at large is not able to grasp this and continues to vote the same people back into office.

Mitt Romney instituted Obamacare in Massachusetts. He can argue that he went for something different and it was changed or that the states are test centers (they are) and this was a test that did not work but the reality is, Romney instituted a Socialist program that he is now trying to bash Obama for instituting nationwide. Obama, for his part, has thanked Romney for leading the way on this and, should Romney be the nominee, he will get beat to death with this issue. One thing he can be certain of, the liberals who support and want Obamacare will not vote for him even if he did invent it. They are wedded to their masters on the left.

Obama is doing much the same thing. He promised immigration reform in his first term and he did not get it done even though he had majorities in the House and Senate that would not have required ONE Republican vote. Yet, Obama is out bashing Republicans on this issue and talking about getting it done. He had the golden chance in the first two years. Whether he is reelected or not he will not have majorities like he enjoyed in those two years. Hispanics are being used for political reasons and many will still vote Democrat.

Obama is also a study in ever changing positions with regard to oil production here in the US. When he was running and gas prices were high he supported going after our own oil but that rapidly changed after he won and got even worse after the Gulf oil disaster. Obama put in place a moratorium and then ignored the judge who ruled against it by basically slowing the permit process. The claim has been made that oil exploration is up from a few years ago but what is not told is that the exploration is being done under permits approved under the Bush administration.

Here we are about 18 months from the next presidential election and Obama is now in favor of drilling for our own oil once again. He wants to look for oil around Alaska, part of the Gulf, and along the Atlantic Coast. Is this a phony move designed to gain support for him in the next election? His base will vote for him even if they are not happy with increased exploration but he needs to convince independent voters he is serious so talking about it early and often might get their support.

However, these things take time and if he wins again his history suggests he will put a screeching halt to any exploration.

One thing that is also overlooked is the liberals and their statements that finding and using our own oil will not make a difference in gas prices. Obama’s new found (or again found) support for drilling would seem to negate those arguments and the arguments that we do not need to go after our own oil because of the wonderful green technology out there. Technology that has yet to prove it can lower costs.

Remember, Obama also said he would half the yearly deficit by the end of his first term. He has more than doubled that deficit and there is no way he will half what it is now (and certainly not what it was). Look for him to move the goal posts on this issue as well by claiming that things were worse than he realized and he will have to work on it in a second term. The question is, does he realize how bad it is now? Why think he does when he did not when he made his bold claim of cutting the deficit in half?

People need to take notice of what he said he would do and what he has actually done.

Like Romney, he can claim one thing but his record is quite clear in a totally different direction.

Cave Canem!
Never surrender, never submit.

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/obama-supports-drilling-in-brazil/.

Barack Obama lied about supporting drilling in the US. He was running for the job of President and he said he supported drilling. At the time gas prices were unstable, and the economy was tanking and a young lady named Sarah Palin was a VP candidate with more energy experience in her little finger than Obama has in his entire body and she was firing people up with her chant of “drill baby, drill”.

Obama won the election and we have not begun drilling. We have a moratorium on drilling and Obama is in favor of that. He does not want us to drill for our own oil and while gas prices skyrocket he sits idly by watching. He wants our prices to go up and he wants us to feel the pain so that he and his cronies can manufacture a crisis so they can push cap and trade and alternative energy. Those technologies have not been developed to a degree they can provide enough energy to meet our needs but Obama has friends he needs to make wealthier. He is beholden to GE…

The Bush energy policy was opposed by Democrats who claim that somehow Bush and Cheney manipulated the price of oil because they are oil men and this helped their buddies. It is pure hogwash because oil is a global commodity and its price is affected by what is going on in the world. However, Obama can affect the polices regarding alternative energy by keeping us from using our own oil (which forces us to pay the higher prices).

Simply allowing us to drill and retrieve OUR oil would provide Americans with tens of thousands of desperately needed jobs and would allow us to use our own resources instead of paying someone else for theirs. But that is Obama’s plan.

He wants us to spend our money to help other countries develop their oil and retrieve it and then he wants them to sell it to us.

“We want to help you with the technology and support to develop these oil reserves safely. And when you’re ready to start selling, we want to be one of your best customers.” Investor’s

Yep, Obama is OK with the Brazilians drilling for their oil and he will even help them do so (with financial and technical aid) and then he will be overjoyed to buy that oil from them.

That Obama is one class act. I just want to know why he has no problem with the Brazilians drilling for their resources but refuses to allow us to do the same. Why? Either he is intent on shackling us to the whims of the market and the prices and production of oil producing countries or he has a real concern for our people. If the latter is the case then he must hold Brazilians in low regard. Are they not as important as humans as we are? No, I think he wants to cripple us to push his agenda.

So America, why is drilling good enough for the people of Brazil (and with the full support of Obama) but not for us?

He wants to destroy us and he is doing it little by little.

GE needs the “clean” energy business and Obama is working to give it to them…

Meanwhile, he is just giving us the business.

Never surrender, never submit.

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/another-news-round-up/.

Looks like Obama is not so keen on following his rules about lobbyists:

Despite the job title, McLaughlin wasn’t a registered lobbyist. Still, ethics rules created by an Obama executive order prohibit McLaughlin from “participat[ing] in any particular matter involving specific parties that is directly and substantially related to” Google. But the e-mails show McLaughlin has been involved with formulating policy that directly affects Google, regularly trading e-mails with Google’s “evangelist,” and lobbyist.

~snip~

And only when I followed up with a question about the e-mails with lobbyist Davidson did Weiss admit “they did violate the President’s Ethics Pledge,” and note that McLaughlin had been reprimanded. [emphasis mine] Washington Examiner

Well so much for the no lobbyists lobbying for their special interests. How’s that transparency thing working out for ya?

Iran blinks after much bluster:

Iran will not be sending a blockade-busting ship to Gaza in defiance of Israeli warnings, an Iranian lawmaker said Saturday, citing Israeli “restrictions.” Yahoo News

Iran was going to send the blockade buster to help get “humanitarian” aid ships through. Perhaps the idea of being sunk by the Israeli Navy did not appeal to Iran. Imagine the humiliation if that happened.

Maybe the Islamic radicals don’t care who is leading our country:

As for the revolutionary Islamists–be they al-Qaida, Hamas, Hizballah, the Taliban, and the Muslim Brotherhoods–or the radical regimes–be they Iran, Syria, the de facto Islamic Republic of Gaza, or others–all the U.S. governments are definitely the same. Indeed, they make this point explicitly in their declarations and media every day.

To them, the American people are “all the same” and the American governments are “all the same.” The argument between liberals and conservatives on this point is irrelevant. They hate the United States because of its values and they also hate the United States because of its policies. Gloria Center

While liberals love to exclaim that George Bush made the world, particularly the world of Islam, hate us, the reality is they hated us long before Bush was president. They bombed the WTC the first time under Clinton, attacked the Cole and other targets under Clinton and planned 9/11 under him. They do not like us no matter who is elected to lead us and they will continue to attack us until they are defeated.

How is that citizen of the world plan working out?

Another broken Obama promise? Gitmo remains open.

Stymied by political opposition and focused on competing priorities, the Obama administration has sidelined efforts to close the Guantánamo prison, making it unlikely that President Obama will fulfill his promise to close it before his term ends in 2013.

~snip~
“The president can’t just wave a magic wand to say that Gitmo will be closed,” said a senior administration official, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss internal thinking on a sensitive issue. The New York Times

Obama can’t wave a magic wand and make things happen but he sure acted like it when, with much fanfare, he signed the Executive Order to close it within one year of him taking office. That pen was his magic wand and he waved as if his deeming it so would make it happen.

This is what you get when you put someone with no leadership experience in charge.

Joe Biden Admits they can’t recover the jobs.

Vice President Joe Biden gave a stark assessment of the economy today, telling an audience of supporters, “there’s no possibility to restore 8 million jobs lost in the Great Recession.” CBS News

Biden goes on to do what has become the main theme of this regime, blame it all on Bush. That excuse is getting old. Hey Joe, the mess belongs to you and you and Obama got it because you convinced America you could fix things.

Now you admit that you can’t.

Is ACORN running the Census?

Two Census Bureau managers from a Brooklyn field office were fired after their bosses found they faked household surveys to meet deadlines, the Daily News learned.

Instead of pounding the pavement and knocking on doors, the corner-cutting people-counters mined the phone book and Internet to make up answers to questionnaires, regional director Tony Farthing said. NY Daily News

This census has been poorly run and has cost billions more than any previous census. Perhaps that is because the Obama regime is using numbers of census employees to artificially lower the unemployment rate. These people are counted as new jobs but will be gone in a few months.

The folks who did this should be prosecuted for falsifying a government record. This is what happens when a corrupt regime runs things.

Biden calls store manager a Smart ass. Custard’s last stand:

Joe Biden, VP of the Obama regime, was out getting a frozen custard (he thought he was getting ice cream) and when he asked how much he owed the manager said not to worry about it, “It’s on us.” Then the manager told Biden to lower our taxes and we will call it even. Biden told the man to say something nice instead of being a smart ass. I thought the request for lower taxes was saying something nice.

This is the disdain the regime has for the average guy on the street. If you think you are paying too much in taxes and express that thought you are being a smart ass. This is because the regime, with people like Biden who have NO business experience, think they know better than you. Shut up you serfs and quit being smart asses. We know what is best for you.

Video at Real Clear Politics

Extending an open hand to Iran:

CIA Director Leon Panetta says Iran probably has enough low-enriched uranium for two nuclear weapons, but that it likely would take two years to build the bombs.

Panetta also says he is doubtful that recent U.N. penalties will put an end to Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Yahoo News

It would seem as if the Obama doctrine of bowing to all the world leaders and extending an open hand to the bad people of the world has not paid off.

The Iranian leadership knows Obama is weak and they are pushing the limits. They have enough nuclear material for two bombs and will have those bombs in the near future (and probably sooner than the estimated two years).

How is that world experience working out for ya?

Never surrender, never submit.

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/about-a-dollar-a-day/.

Barack Obama was on TV last evening discussing the oil spill in the Gulf and he used the crisis to push his agenda forward. He used his buzz words about this being the moment and the opportunity for this generation to end our dependence on fossil fuels. He spent the first part of the speech discussing the wonderful response of the federal government. He was basically trying to convince people that he was on top of things from the start. Then he went into the whole clean energy hard sell.

This fits right in with the never let a crisis go to waste and puts winds in the sails of John Kerry and Joe Lieberman who are putting forward the cap and tax bill. They were overjoyed to learn that the cost to families will be between $80 and $150 a year. They are giddy at this and Lieberman thinks it is great. What family would not be happy to spend less than a dollar a day to green up the country?

“There’ll be some people who will want to demagogue that politically, but that’s less than $1 a day,” Lieberman told reporters. “Is the American household willing to pay less than $1 so we don’t have to buy oil from foreign countries, so we can create millions of new jobs, so we can clean up our environment? I think the answer is going to be yes.” Politico

I guess I am one to demagogue because I can think of plenty of families who will not want to pay this. Perhaps those who are in foreclosure or are struggling to make ends meet. Perhaps those who do not have a job, the supposed priority of the Obama regime, would have a problem paying the money.

I do not think the numbers add up because we have seen time and again government estimates that end up costing way more than advertised. The health care bill was touted as a savings measure as Democrats hid the true cost. Once the bill was signed into law the real numbers came out and this monster will cost a hell of a lot more than advertised.

The cap and tax will be no different as the politicians decide they need more and more of our money. THEY ALWAYS WANT MORE.

Obama is using the crisis in the Gulf to bash BP (the company Kerry was courting when writing his bill) and to push an agenda that will cost us a fortune. Yes, we will pay more than the amount Lieberman proudly proclaims and we will also pay the increased costs to companies because costs are passed on to consumers.

Remember, it was Barack Obama who said his cap and tax scheme would necessarily cause electricity costs to skyrocket.

Obama sounded flat last night as if he were giving a half hearted campaign speech.

Even his state run media was unimpressed.

You know he has jumped the shark when he has lost his cheer leading section in the state run media.

Yes, Obama is not letting this crisis go to waste. He is using the tragedy to push something he has wanted all along.

I noticed he mentioned Katrina a few times as if he was trying to say that he is not as bad as the last guy. Funny, the folks in Louisiana don’t see it that way.

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/obama-should-take-his-own-advice/.

Not long ago Barack Obama expressed his disgust at the way the entities involved in the Gulf oil spill pointed fingers at each other. He said that he did not want finger pointing.

He gave a similar message to graduating students telling them not to make excuses.

This is from the same guy who has done nothing but blame George Bush for all his regime’s woes. Whenever anything goes wrong Bush gets blamed and it is not only Obama doing the blaming. Nancy Pelosi blamed Bush for the oil spill in the Gulf and a media story put the blame for the Gore split-up on Bush as well.

It seems to me that Obama would do well by taking his own advice.

While he is at it he should admonish his sock puppets in the state run media and tell them to stop making excuses and laying blame.

How on Earth can we expect the students to take Obama seriously when he tells them not to make excuses after they have seen him do that for a year and a half? How can the entities involved in the oil spill take him seriously when they have seen the same? In fact, while Obama was expressing his disgust at finger pointing, he pointed his fingers at them.

Obama is a narcissistic weenie. His lack of experience is showing in the way he does his job and the American public is getting fed up.

So Barack, how about you take your own advice and stop pointing fingers at Bush? How about you stop using President Bush as an excuse for your failings? How about you try leading, if you can?

UPDATE: Here is a list of Obama finger pointing and blame.

Copyright © 2012 Blake. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/once-again-with-feeling/.

Here we go, on the ferris wheel of price increases with regards to gasoline and heating fuel, and all other related products, as the price of a barrel of crude rises yet again to it’s highest price this year. In a land with common sense, this would mean that drilling off of our coasts would make sense especially given the lag time between beginning the process, and actually obtaining the oil.

We, however, do not live in a land with leaders who have a lick of common sense when it comes to this issue. Instead, they prefer to run around like Chicken Little, screaming at the “ecological ” damage done to the environment. Truth be told, more damage is done by the oil tankers that ship the crude from far away places, than the pipelines that the oil flows from in the Gulf of Mexico, or the Alaska pipeline.

When the price of crude fell sharply last year, most people breathed a sigh of relief,as if the crisis was behind us- not so, as this is just the deep breath before the plunge into icy water. If we do not begin to drill now, then we will continue to be reliant on the Arab world, or Chavez, both of whom are repugnant to me. It would be much better to use our own petroleum reserves while we search for an alternative that might be as long as ten years away from commercial viability.

Pump prices have been on a tear as the price of crude oil—the biggest single factor in gasoline prices—has more than doubled from a low point this spring.

On Wednesday, the national average price for regular rose a fraction of a penny to $2.63 per gallon, according to motor club AAA. That’s up 40 cents from a month ago and just over $1 since the first day of 2009. In Houston, the average edged up nearly half a penny overnight to $2.43 a gallon, and is up 34 cents from last month, AAA said.

Crude oil prices are surging as investors pour cash into commodities as a hedge against the weakening U.S. dollar. The price got another boost Wednesday as traders reacted to Energy Department data showing a higher-than-expected drop in U.S. oil inventories, a sign that supplies are tightening, demand increasing and the economy improving.

Light, sweet crude for July delivery rose $1.15 to $71.16 a barrel, its highest price this year.

chron.com

Oil rigs don’t just float into place and begin pumping oil, which is why we need to begin now, or we will be forever behind the curve. That might sit well with Hussein, but the rest of us, normal American people, should not get this kind of “change” in our lives. We have already suffered these Liberal fools quite enough, thank you, and we would like to begin a return to sanity.

Part of this return would be to drill for the oil here while we figure out the best way to go. Using a shotgun approach to solve the energy crisis is counterproductive- what is needed is focus on what works. In some places, solar might work- in others, wind may do it, although I personally have my doubts about wind.

Nuclear power should be used more for everyday residential and commercial use, and I believe that we can make coal much cleaner, but we won’t know this if we rely on people who say no- as my mother used to say, ” “Can’t” never could.”

Total U.S. petroleum product deliveries, including gasoline, fell to their lowest point since 1998 during the first four months of the year, according to the American Petroleum Institute, an industry trade group in Washington. The decline came despite pump prices that hovered around $2 a gallon nationwide for most of that time.

Now, some experts fear higher pump prices will cut deeper into the pockets of Americans and prove a drag on the rebound of the U.S. economy.

“A lot of what drives the U.S. economy is consumption,” said Ken Medlock, a fellow in energy studies at Rice University’s Baker Institute. “If we’re not consuming, we’re not going to recover at the same kind of pace we would otherwise.”

“I think if we had stayed in the low $2 range, we probably would have seen much stronger demand this summer,” he said.

This week, the U.S. Energy Information Administration said it expects regular-grade gasoline prices to peak in July, hitting a national average near $2.70 per gallon.

chron.com

Now, on the one hand, decreased usage means that pollution will be less, but the other side of the equation is that reduced usage means that our economic recovery will be prolonged.

The drilling off of the East and West coasts could prove a boon financially to the states, like California, and New Jersey, both of whom desperately need the money, and also the Federal government, which would make money both in the sale of the leases, and the taxes on gasoline refining and sales.

And still you have some people in these respective governments turning a blind eye to the realities of the situation.

Are they waiting for the return of four dollar gas?

Copyright © 2012 Blake. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/is-it-really-green/.

I have written a couple of times on the so- called “Green” technology, and what I believe is the future of energy, and I have been taken to task for not having a coherent grasp of the minutia relating to the various technologies of this “new” change in direction. I have said that I would be glad to embrace new Hybrid, or electric, or hydrogen cars, IF THEY WORKED, and if there was an infrastructure in place to refill, or re- charge, or re- whatever needs to be done.

But I have always felt that if you have to travel fifty miles round trip, in order to fill your car, you are not saving money, you are not reducing your precious “carbon footprint”, and you have not done the environment any favors in any way.It does not matter what fuel you use, if you have to travel to the ends of the earth to get it. I mean let’s face it, “Dilithium Crystals” are not real, and our energy needs are.

This is why I have advocated for the continued use of present- day fuels, which means (by virtue of common sense), that we need to drill for oil and gas on both coasts. Our finances dictate that we use our own fuel, and refine it here, and sell it here. This keeps the money at home. In the meantime, the search and refinement of alternative energy proceeds. After all, the company that perfects the next generation of usable energy is the company that can feasibly write its own future.

What I find incredible is the news that a nuclear reactor that would have provided energy to all of southeastern Texas was denied the issuance of Government surety bonds, which effectively killed the project, as it needed the bonds to help develop the capital needed to proceed. The environmentalists killed it, just as they have killed any further coal- fired plants, and here is the problem with these nitwits- they have NO alternatives. None- and that is not acceptable. The saying, Lead, Follow, or get out of the way comes to mind. The mindless throwing up of roadblocks is not adding anything positive to the discussion.

Because, let’s face it- Progress will happen, that is written in stone- the only question is in what direction progress will take. Standing pat, as the enviro- nuts seem to want, is impossible, so it would seem to me that if they really want to be a part of the discussion, they should open their mouths and say something, but say something that keeps the discussion on topic.

The Republican party has been called the party of No, but it is really the environmentalists, who say no to oil and gas, say no to coal, say no to nuclear power, say no to ethanol, and say no to both solar and wind, because the laying of transmission lines would hurt a snail darter fish, or some lizard. Here’s a thought- the lizards can probably crawl over the transmission lines as they do at my house. Give me a freakin’ break- animals are more flexible than you might think, and accept things like pipelines and transmission lines in their midst easier than you know.

In the end, there are two ways humanity can proceed- we can find and use ALL available forms of power we can harness, or we can kill off at least half of all humanity, which will free up demand on the uses of energy, won’t it? Which one do you think would be more desirable? More logical? More user- friendly?
Of course, the other way would give us more elbow room, but what if you are on the wrong side of THAT equation? Whoops! There go your hopes and dreams. No, I think that if you are logical about this, and not blindly adhering to an agenda that has ulterior motives, you would have to agree that the only logical way is the first one I described, using all available forms of power, and keeping our money here at home.

Reviling oil and gas, as some in the “green” movement are doing, is doing them no favors, because just what are they using for power while they are building their brave new world? Rubber bands? No- they are using gas powered machines- but they are not liking it. Still, it’s better than rolling the wind turbines over logs to get them where they want, I think even they would agree.

Sometimes being a hypocrite is the best you can do- do the ends justify the means?

Now we’re cookin’ with gas.

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/obama-and-the-democrats-lie-about-drilling/.

During the latter part of the campaign season gasoline rose to about $4.00 a gallon while oil was pegging at $150 a barrel. This all took place under the Democrats who had control of Congress at the time. Now I don’t particularly think any member of our government has control over oil prices but our friends on the left seem to believe that the “oil men” Bush and Cheney controlled oil prices. I would not normally attribute oil prices to a political party but Nancy Pelosi made the promise in 2006 that if we voted Democrats in control they had a plan to lower gas prices. Since she said that they would do it then it means she could do it. Since it did not happen then it stands to reason the Democrats caused it not to.

During the same period of $4.00 gas the Democrats were getting hammered from all sides on the subject of drilling for our own oil. The call to drill here and drill now drowned out the cries of the tree huggers. Sarah Palin brought some sense to the issue because, unlike all the others, she actually has experience in this area. It did not take long for Obama to change his stance and say that he too was in favor of responsible drilling. The Democrats began to say they were willing to work with Republicans to drill responsibly. They even let the offshore drilling ban expire.

I warned at the time that they were lying. They had no intention of allowing drilling and they only said and did those things to influence people to vote for them. The high cost of gas was turning voters away and the Democrats said and did things to turn that trend around. I knew all along and stated in several posts that the Democrats expected to win the White House and make big gains in Congress and that they would put a stop to drilling and would reinstate the ban. It looks like that is taking place and Obama, Mr. I’m all for responsible drilling, not opposed to this effort. Democrats are working very hard to ensure we will never be able to drill for oil on any of our property including Alaska, a state rich in resources. Sarah Palin has written an article taking Democrats and Obama to task for breaking their word on drilling.

As I traveled throughout the country campaigning for vice president, I was glad to hear politicians, including Barack Obama, promise that “everything was on the table” to address America’s great challenges. I also found that when Americans were apprised of the facts, most people became supporters of responsible oil and gas drilling in Alaska. So, I want to remind our national leaders of this promise and make the case against this legislation:

•Oil from ANWR represents a huge, secure domestic supply that could help satisfy U.S. demand for more than 25 years.

•ANWR sits within a 20 million-acre refuge (the size of South Carolina), but thanks to advanced technology like directional drilling, the aggregated drilling footprint would be less than 2,000 acres (about one-quarter the size of Dulles Airport). This is like laying a 2-by-3-foot welcome mat on a basketball court.

•Energy development is quite compatible with the protection of our wildlife and their habitat. For example, North Slope caribou herds have grown and remained healthy throughout more than three decades of oil development. Most of the year, our coastal plain is frozen solid and thus characterized by low biological productivity.

•ANWR development would create hundreds of thousands of good American jobs, positively affecting every state by providing a safe energy supply and generating demand for goods and services. Star Tribune

The entire article is worth the read and it shows that Palin has a better grasp then all these beltway bandits who have little experience in the real world. Barack Obama said he was open to drilling and other responsible methods of energy independence but the reality is he and the Democrats are working on a bill that will take away part of the argument. The bill means that Democrats are not willing to drill responsibly and they are not open to discussion. They lied.

Our country has a lot of resources but the Democrats are committed to the environmental lobbyists and their desire to use alternatives that are either expensive or have not been developed yet. We have oil and we should continue to use it until we have better options.

It only makes sense to use our own. Since it makes sense it will not happen.

Lying seems to be a common theme in this administration. Like I always say, never trust a Democrat.

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/time-to-bail-out-oil-companies/.

When oil companies were making record profits Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton said they were going to take those profits and spend them on the people. They would impose huge windfall profit taxes on the “excessive” profits because it just isn’t right, in their minds, for private businesses to make too much.

The oil companies, they claimed, were manipulating the markets and causing fuel prices to rise. No, drilling was not the answer though Obama bought into that for political gain. It was not a matter of our oil going unused, it was the evil oil companies manipulating markets. If they could do that then why are they not manipulating them now and causing the price of a barrel of oil to go up?

Looks like we will now have to send the oil companies some of the bailout money. Royal Dutch Shell posted its first loss in 10 years. The loss was 2.81 billion dollars.

If Obama wanted to take their money when they earned it then it only stands to reason he has to give them money when they don’t.

I am willing to bet that does not happen.

This just shows how little Obama and his Democrats understand the free market.

He said he wanted to redistribute the wealth but I bet that was only when he was taking it from evil oil companies. I bet he will not redistribute it the other way…

I don’t believe the oil companies should get money if they are not doing well but I also do not believe the government should take their money when they are profitable.

In other news about fossil fuels, thousands of gas stations in California will close by 1 April rather than spend the huge sums of money it would cost to get them up to speed with some strict new environmental standards being imposed by the state.

Looks like the already cash strapped state will be earning fewer business tax dollars.

UPDATE: Looks like Exxon will break its record for profit. I guess it will have to give money to Shell under the redistribute the wealth plan.

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/pelosi-and-hoyer-no-match-for-thinking-people/.

A group of protesters chanting “Drill Here, Drill Now” in front of Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer were confronted by the House leaders when Pelosi asked if it was OK to drill their brains. Nancy, it is only OK to drill a person’s brains when that person wants to become a liberal Democrat. Then and only then may you remove brains.

Hoyer, a Democrat from Maryland, stated:

“sophomoric chanting” won’t solve the energy crisis and that “all thinking Americans know” — stressing the word “thinking” and looking at the crowd — that America doesn’t have a quarter of the word’s fossil fuels yet uses a quarter of the world’s energy. Politico

Hoyer couldn’t find his ass if his hands were in his back pockets and he is talking about people who think. Here are a few thoughts for him:

Was it not Obama who said he was open to drilling for oil and did not Nancy Pelosi then follow suit? According to Hoyer, are they unthinking?

Have not the Democrats been using sophomoric chants throughout the convention? Pelosi had them chanting that Obama was right and John McCain was wrong.

Hoyer keeps talking about solving the energy crisis but Democrats have been touting alternative energies for years. Nothing has panned out yet and we can’t get rid of oil until we have something else that works as well.

If they are now acting as if drilling won’t matter is it safe to assume the remarks about being ready to drill were a ruse to fool people into voting for them? (as I predicted earlier).

Is Pelosi aware that we could have oil flowing in 1-3 years (not 10) and that an increase in supply will reduce the prices far more than a few cents?

If the protesters are “2 cents in 10 years” as Pelosi called them, does that make her no sense ever?

These people do not care about the country. They only care about being reelected and they will say anything to accomplish that. They have had an abysmal record since they took control despite all the lies Pelosi told to embellish their record. They are do nothing losers and they should all be voted out of office.

Hoyer is a mental midget who suffers from such a chronic case of cranial rectitis that he needs a silica umbilicus to see where he is going.
