Is Pelosi On Drugs Or Naturally Confused?

Or does she think we are stupid?

Nancy Pelosi is working hard to pass the health care takeover that Obama wants even though it looks like she is currently a few votes shy of the needed number of Democrats to pass it. The House and Senate have been working on this health care stuff for about a year and both chambers have a bill. They could have passed anything they wanted without Republican support because they had large enough majorities in both chambers.

The Democrats could not agree on the legislation and it is they who are at fault for this not passing. If it is so wonderful that they are going to ram it through now whether we like it or not then it was just as wonderful when they had enough votes to get it done on their own. They did not get it done because some of their own did not like it.

This is important because the Democrats keep blaming Republicans for obstructing. Republicans could not obstruct, they could only delay the inevitable, as long as all the Democrats were on the same sheet of music. They were not.

Plus, they know that if they are the only party to vote for it then they own it. If it turns out good then they will look like heroes and if it turns out bad it will be entirely their fault. They must know that it is not as wonderful as they say because they do not want sole ownership of it.

But what about Pelosi and her drug problem? She must be on drugs. Read this portion of a transcript from an interview she had this weekend with Candy Crowley of CNN:

CROWLEY: When we looked at our polling numbers just from yesterday, we had almost three-quarters of Americans who said they need to drop this bill, just stop talking about health care and move on to something else or they need to start new. So don’t the Republicans have a point?

PELOSI: The point is, is that we have a responsibility here, and the Republicans have had a field day going out there and misrepresenting what is in the bill, but that’s what they do. That’s what…

CROWLEY: So it has been messaging thing?

PELOSI: … they do. No…

CROWLEY: You think people don’t understand the bill?

PELOSI: No, I don’t think — there isn’t a bill. When we have a bill, which we will in a matter of days, then that is the bill that we can sell. Our bill, the House and the Senate bill, had some major differences which we’re hoping now to reconcile. [emphasis mine]

Nancy Pelosi starts off by saying that Republicans have had a field day misrepresenting what is in the bill. We could argue all day as to whether this is true and whether things were misrepresented but that is not important. Pelosi and her minions tell us this is wonderful and people just don’t understand it. They had enough votes (provided they all voted for it) to pass it. If things were misrepresented then they could have passed it and let America find out how wonderful it really is.

They did not do that for a reason. It stinks and they know it. They do not want to own it so they blame Republicans. Let me be clear for the moonbats who have trouble with this, Republicans did not obstruct because they could not block passage.

Next, Pelosi goes on to say that there is no bill. She said there is no bill now but when they have a bill they will be able to sell it. If this is true then how did Republicans misrepresent what was in the bill? You cannot misrepresent what is in a bill if there is no bill (her words were technically there is not a bill).

Maybe Pelosi is defining bill as the reconciled product from the Senate and House. If that is her definition of “the bill” then Republicans could not have misrepresented what is in “the bill” because “the bill” does not yet exist.

This is all misdirection and deliberate confusion created to make it appear as if Republicans had anything to do with the Democrats being unable to pass their health care takeover. They do not want to own up to the fact that they had enough votes and could have rammed it through at any time and still could not get it done. Now that they do not have a filibuster proof majority they want to ram it through with reconciliation and claim they had to because Republicans obstructed the process.

This is a lie and they should be called on it every time.

I do not agree with the health care process going on and would not have been happy if they had passed it when they had the chance, especially since a lot of people oppose it and I know it will be bad for this country. But, they should have the integrity and honor to admit that they hold all the responsibility for that failure.

No matter what, Pelosi is out lying about the process (or should I say misrepresenting) and whether or not they have a bill and trying to paint Republicans as obstructionists.

Republicans showed at the summit that they had ideas and were willing to work but like I said before, Obama’s idea of bipartisan is when Republicans do what he wants. He said it before and he intimated it at the summit, he won.

Fine, but man up and admit your own failures and the failures of your party. You blew your chance to pass it when you were unobstructed and now you might not have the votes to ram it through even with little used and inappropriate procedures. You can’t admit to your base that you could not get it done when you were completely unobstructed so now you need to blame it on Republicans to try and salvage the November elections.

It is your fault Mr. Obama and the fault of your Democrats.

Keep this in mind America as they use “obstructionist Republicans” as their reason for ramming it through (or at least trying) with reconciliation.

It really is too bad the Democrat party lacks men and women of honor and integrity.

Obama’s Unspoken Comment on Drilling

Barack Obama, faced with flat polls and the inability to put away John McCain, has switched positions on drilling for American oil. Obama had been opposed to drilling and had maintained that it would not provide relief in the short term but now says that he would like to see us drill. This is nothing more than pandering to the majority who want us to drill here and drill now. But what were Obama’s unspoken words?

“If, in order to get that passed, we have to compromise in terms of a careful, well thought-out drilling strategy that was carefully circumscribed to avoid significant environmental damage – I don’t want to be so rigid that we can’t get something done.” [emphasis mine] My Way News

What Obama has indicated, whether he realizes it or not, is that the position of the Democrats and specifically Nancy Pelosi, is obstructive. If he is saying that his change of heart is because he does not want to be so rigid that something can’t get done then he is also saying that those in Congress who hold his previous objections to drilling are being so rigid that we cannot get something done.

It is obvious that Obama changed his position for political expediency and in so doing he has called those in his party who still object, obstructionists. I can’t imagine Pelosi or the other obstructionists will be too happy with the chosen one but I am sure they will embrace his position in some fashion so as to make it appear that they are putting aside their objections to help the people out of $4.00 gasoline.

It would do us well to remember that if they really wanted to address the problem they would have done so before they went on a five week vacation. If Obama wanted us to believe he was sincere he should have called for Congress to stay in session and address the problem. Instead, he announced his new position after it had adjourned for the entire month of August.

The important thing to remember in all of this is that Obama has outed his party as being so rigid that we can’t get something done.

Of course, those of us on the right already knew that.

Nancy Pelosi’s Oil Hoax

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, the worst Speaker in the history of Congress, opposes America using her own resources. Pelosi is opposed to any kind of oil exploration that involves American property. Oh sure, they talk about already leased property that is not being drilled by oil companies but they fail to tell you it is because there is very little oil there. We know where trillions of barrels of oil are located and we have the technology to extract those barrels but Congress, full of idiots like Pelosi, refuses to allow us to drill. Nancy Pelosi has called the plan to drill a hoax.

“Once again, the oilman in the White House is echoing the demands of Big Oil.

“The Bush plan is a hoax. It will neither reduce gas prices nor increase energy independence. It just gives millions more acres to the same companies that are sitting on nearly 68 million acres of public lands and coastal areas.

“If the President wants to bring down prices in the next two weeks, not the next two decades, he should free our oil by releasing a small portion of the more than 700 million barrels of oil we have put in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

“It’s time to tell the oil industry: ‘You already have millions of acres to drill. Use it or lose it.’” Pelosi Website

This air head is so out of touch, even for a liberal, that it is mind boggling. I have already addressed the millions of acres. If any appreciable amount of oil was there the companies would have drilled for it. As for the oil man calling the shots of big oil, Pelosi is following the playbook of the environmental whack jobs who funnel money to her and her Democratic colleagues. One of these two is trying to solve the problem. Pelosi says that the plan is a hoax and that it would not lower prices. The fact is, if we were to remove the restrictions then the market would see a decrease in oil prices because of the very speculators Congress says drove the prices up. Oil companies can be pumping oil in 2 to 5 years and we will be well on our way to lower fuel prices. So what if the prize is a few years away. I don’t imagine farmers say “well, it is spring and we have no crops to sell so let’s NOT plant any for later.” The only way to reap future benefits is to start NOW.

The Democrats continually say that drilling will not solve the problem (it will) but they never offer any other solution. Pelosi is the one who promised us she and her fellow Dems had a plan to get this all under control. Where is that plan? The only thing I see from them is obstruction. If Bill Clinton had not vetoed drilling in ANWR we would be getting that oil now and the price would not be a problem.

But let’s get this straight. Pelosi and her ilk do not want us to drill and they claim that it will not make a difference. But, according to these geniuses, releasing some of the strategic oil reserves will. I think the oil reserves might provide relief but even if we released it the relief would only last about 2 months. Then where will we be? Right back on the world oil market paying high prices but doing so with an empty tank where our reserves used to be. Only in Congress will trillions of barrels have no affect but 2 months of reserves will. This, by the way, is how they manage our money.

This is the problem with politicians and Democrats in particular. They cannot think into the future. They are reactive rather than proactive. They only care about what they can do to get through the next election. Pelosi would love to have the reserves released in the next few weeks so that prices would go down going into the November elections so that the voting public will forget that the ENTIRE oil crisis has been caused by those in power. She does not give a rodent’s derriere what happens to the price after November because the election will be over.

Keep in mind folks, the taxpayers pay for their leased vehicles, the insurance, the registration, and for ALL the gas they put in them so they are not feeling the pain at the pump. Pelosi couldn’t care less what you have to pay for gas. She only wants prices to go down so Barry Obambi can get elected. Then she and her ilk will have 4 years to screw up even more (assuming they win the mid-terms).

Nancy Pelosi’s “plan” to release the oil from the strategic reserve is the real hoax in this story. Her “we have a plan” claim was a hoax and the idea that a move, which might affect the market for a few months, will solve this issue is a hoax. Nancy Pelosi is not a forward thinker and she is not a leader. She certainly does not care about people or this country. If she did she would stop blocking us from using our own resources to get out of this mess.

Remember this on election day folks. President Bush lifted the Executive Order banning drilling and now the process is being held up by Democrats in Congress. Democrats who do not care about you.

It adds insult to injury to know that after you put $100 in your gas tank your taxes put $100 in theirs.

They have a 9% approval rating. What say we bounce them all out and start with some fresh people with fresh ideas.
