Obama Retreats To Get Something Passed

Barack Obama is working hard to get something, anything, passed with regard to health care. This is one of his signature pieces of legislation and something he based a large part of his campaign on so he needs it to pass. The problem is, more and more people do not trust him because of the way he handled the so called crisis known as the economic downturn. Obama said we had to act now and that we could not wait. No one read the bill and we ended up with 9000 items of pork in a bill that has failed to stimulate anything except our debt. It cost nearly a trillion dollars and has had no effect on the economy. It has been a failure.

Now people hear Obama making similar claims about having to do health care reform NOW. No one has read the bill and there are items in it that are unpopular because they are paths to rationing, socialism, and end of life decisions that will be mandates more than anything else.

This mess will also add a lot of money to the deficit because there is no method to pay for it.

Obama has used a straw man argument to push his health care agenda. He presents only two items, his plan and doing nothing. His position is that if anyone opposes what he wants then they are advocating for doing nothing. Then he goes on to attack the idea of doing nothing. The fact of the matter is there are plenty of things that can be done and there are plenty of people expressing ideas that do not involve a complete overhaul of the health care system. Some of them were presented when Obama was a Senator and he VOTED AGAINST EVERY ONE OF THEM. This is because Obama wants the government to have complete control over the health care system so that they can more tightly control our lives. This is a plan long espoused by communists who knew that taking control of the health care of people allows government to take control of people. Obama and the Democrats want control of the people. If Obama cared about the people or their health then he would have voted for the bills that were presented in the past but he DOES NOT CARE.

Barack Ocommunist is about controlling people and remaking America in the image of his hero Saul Alinksy. We as a people need to put a stop to Obama and his twinkle toes chief of staff who continues to run roughshod over those who oppose the Democrat’s agenda of destruction of our country.

The media wing of the Democratic party is on board with the New York Times and others claiming that opposition to Obamacare comes from conservatives as if no one else dares to take a stand against Obama and his merry men.

If things do not go well — and right now Mr. Obama’s political popularity is declining, his health care legislation is under conservative assault… [emphasis mine]

The Olbermans and other scumbags in the media are shilling for this disgrace of a leader and are working to help him transform America into a socialist country full of people living in subservience to the government. We cannot allow this to happen and people from all walks are stepping up to oppose this abortion. We need to keep the pressure on.

Republicans in Congress must not vote for any health care bill presented even if it does not include the public option. At this point in the game Obama is looking for anything he can call a victory and Bill Clinton is urging Democrats not to get too upset if they do not get all they want telling them they might not get the full loaf. The implication is that they need to get something passed and then it will be easier to tweak it down the road. Once that camel’s nose gets under the tent we will not keep it out.

We need to hand Obama a resounding defeat on this. If they decide to use procedures to bypass rules and allow the votes to go forward then let the Democrats be responsible for passing it. No Republican should vote for any portion of the Obama plan. It will be as terrible as the stimulus and be as big a failure.

Make the left pass it with their majority and hold them accountable for their vote. Any Republican ho votes for this should be rmoved from office.

We need to hand Obama a defeat and we need it to be a big defeat. He needs to be taken down a few pegs along with the people behind him. We need to reassert ourselves and show them who the boss is. They need to be reminded that they work for us.

Don’t be fooled by the change in tone. Obama is looking to save face politically and he is willing to sacrifice part of his wish list to be able to say he got health care reform passed.

We need to deny him this. Now is not the time to waiver or get weak. Keep putting pressure on them and make them feel the heat.

Is The Honeymoon Ending?

The press has been easy on Obama since he decided to run for the White House. They treated him like royalty and protected him. They, in effect, became the media wing of his campaign and they remained his media after he was elected. Last week during his press conference he was grilled pretty good and he was on the defense. He was taken to task more than he had ever been. The thought at that time was that his numbers were dropping and the public is awakening to the fiasco that is his policies.

Today Press Secretary Gibbs was grilled over the Obama Town Hall meeting where the questions and the people are preselected or screened. Helen Thomas, of all people, was like a shark in the water. She stated:

“The point is the control from here. We have never had that in the White House. And we have had some control but not this control. I mean I’m amazed, I’m amazed at you people who call for openness and transparency and you have controlled…” veteran White House reporter Helen Thomas said Wednesday.

I am amazed that she would even say that the Obama White House is more controlling than the Bush White House. She said it when she said “…NEVER had that in the White House.”

It seems the media are beginning to go after him and are finally starting to do their jobs rather than be toadies who follow their master at the lectern. It is about time.

It was inevitable because the media eventually get around to being tough. They finally did it with Bill Clinton and they will do it with Obama. It seems that his failed policies and the lack of progress in the economy are beginning to take their toll.

It seems that maybe the media are also waking up to the idea that they helped elect a rookie who know not what he is doing.

Republican Consultant Gives Reporters Too Much Credit

Barack Obama has the media in his hip-hop pocket. They have carried his water for two years and helped to quash any negative story, and there were many, that arose over that time. When the Blagojevich story broke Obama was quick to say neither he nor his staff had anything to do with the situation and the media bought that, until it was revealed that Rahm Emanuel had contact regarding the open Senate seat.

Obama and his camp went into damage control mode and decided to conduct an internal investigation. The investigation was completed last week and they, reportedly at the request of US Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald, held the results. They are supposed to be released this week, maybe as soon as today (I bet it will be tomorrow). How convenient the report will be released while Obama is at a plush Hawaiian retreat many miles away. The internal review will show that there were no contacts that were inappropriate (as opposed to NO contacts). The media will accept this as gospel and move on to Christmas parties and other social gatherings. Accepting the results as closing the issue is like allowing a person to conduct his own tax audit. I bet Major League Baseball wished it had been allowed to conduct its own audit into steroid abuse and have it accepted as the final word.

Republican consultant Ron Bonjean, however, believes that the report will set off a flurry of activity from reporters eager to discover the independent truth:

“The contacts are a potential Pandora’s box,” Mr. Bonjean said. “They’ll take reporters in all different directions, like having dozens of little rabbits running around the White House.” WSJ

The only activity will be reporters running around eager to prove what Obama concluded was true. They will not dig into anything that might discredit their chosen one and will do whatever it takes to validate their support. Chris Matthews said it was his job to ensure Obama was successful. His job, as well as most in the media, was to ensure Bush was unsuccessful but with The One, it is different because they all backed him. The media went to bat for Obama and carried his water through every potential scandal.

Jeremiah Wright, William Ayers, and Tony Rezko (and many others) all had associations with Obama that bore further scrutiny but the media were asleep at the wheel. The birth certificate issue is valid but the media refuses to run with it and that includes those who report from the right. The media have failed to exercise due diligence in reporting and vetting Barack Obama and it will likely not exercise journalistic integrity until something happens that cannot be ignored. They did the same with Bill Clinton whose character was in question from the start. Michael Isikoff was prepared to break the Monica Lewinsky story but Newsweek killed it. If Drudge had not published it there would likely not have been the flurry of activity that followed.

Obama will enjoy much of the same treatment until he is involved in something that cannot be ignored so indicating that reporters will be running around like rabbits following the Obama report’s conclusions is being generous with regard to American journalists.

It is very likely that Obama’s people had contact with Blagojevich and that the Senate seat was discussed. If Obama’s report is not complete in all dealings in the matter and it is discovered that other contacts were made then he will be tainted from the start (OK, more tainted). The MSM cannot allow this to happen.

It will be a fun four years watching the media fall all over Obama though I imagine some of his shine is beginning to fade. He has already ticked off the gays and has Barney Frank talking negatively about him.

The media might still love him in the end but they might be the only ones.

McCain Shatters Obama’s Secrecy

The Obama camp is upset with John McCain because he disclosed that the young Senator was on his way to the Middle East. The camp is upset because they have closely guarded the information regarding his departure even though the major networks have mobilized to follow him around like Bill Clinton following the scent of an intern.

For weeks now, Barack Obama has closely guarded the details of his planned fact-finding trips to Afghanistan and Iraq, citing security concerns.

But Friday, the Democratic presidential hopeful’s Republican rival, John McCain, may have let the secret out of the bag – infuriating some Obama supporters and putting Camp McCain on the defensive. Daily News

I understand the need for a certain amount of secrecy in order to ensure safety but the news has been abuzz about the anointed one and his trek across the world. The supposed “fact finding mission” is really a campaign ploy which explains why Obama has an army of advisers to keep him from making a mistake that might cost him votes. However, the reality of the situation is that a lot of people knew the Messiah was leaving the country and a lot had a pretty good idea when he was doing it.

Media Gets Tough with Obama

Ever since Barack Obama came on the scene he stole the thunder from Hillary Clinton. The Clintons had experienced great media coverage for years with the media holding or burying stories harmful to the clan. That all stopped when Obama became the new darling of the media. They have fawned over him and a parody on Saturday Night Live was not far off considering how he has not drawn tough questions (until the last debate) or close scrutiny even though he says a lot about absolutely nothing. It is really bad when even Democrats who doted on the Clintons for years have turned against them, media or otherwise.

Perhaps the portrayal of the media as Obama’s toadies on SNL sparked a fire under them because the party seems to be over and it would appear that Obama has been stung by the unexpected attacks. At a speech Obama took questions and the media zinged him right off the bat asking him about the secret meeting with the Canadians that he originally denied but later acknowledged. He said the standard stump answer about not knowing or going with the information he had but it gave the appearance that he lied.

Then the media began with the Tony Rezko questions. Rezko is a friend of Obama who happened to buy a piece of property right next to him on the very same day. Rezko bought the property that Obama did not want (the seller required it to be part of the purchase) for $625,000 and then sold part of it to Obama so he could enlarge his yard. This political favor coincidence has significance because Rezko’s trial for corruption started today and Obama’s name is likely to come up. The fact that Rezko is involved in corruption and has been close to Obama is not happenstance. Obama is from Illinois and is a member of the Democratic Party that has been so corrupt that it has received its own name, Chicago Style Politics.

Obama has benefited from Chicago Style Politics and that is why, as a first term Senator, he is on top the political world. He has given the appearance of impropriety with regard to Rezko and the Canadians. Even if Obama turns out to be squeaky clean, he has acted in a fashion that appears improper and for many, perception is reality. A man who claims not to be part of the old political system and who claims to be looking to the future (which all presidential candidates say, by the way) does himself no good by looking like a politician of old. He is part of the Daley political scene and that makes him part of the past, a past that is rife with corruption.

It is nice to see the media finally stop drinking the Kool Aid and start asking tough questions.
