Michelle Obama is not too Proud to Lie

Recently there was a big stink about something Michelle Obama, wife of Senator Obomination, said. She told people that for the first time in her adult life she was proud to be an American. This caused an uproar and the spin started and the Obamas wanted us to know she only meant what she said in relation to the political process. I heard what she said and it did not appear that way to me. Michelle Malkin wrote an excellent piece about it and she hit the nail on the head.
It appears that even though Mrs. Obama has not been proud of this country, she is not too proud to lie. In Ohio she told a group of women not to go into corporate America. Now there was nothing wrong with her suggestion that these folks become teachers, social workers and nurses. However, it is her contention that getting the education required to work in corporate America is too expensive and saddles people with debt they pay for years. How does she think people become teachers, social workers or nurses? All of these professions require a college education and it can be just as expensive. Here is where the lie comes in:
“The salaries don’t keep up with the cost of paying off the debt, so you’re in your 40s, still paying off your debt at a time when you have to save for your kids,†she says.
“Barack and I were in that position,†she continues. “The only reason we’re not in that position is that Barack wrote two best-selling books… It was like Jack and his magic beans. But up until a few years ago, we were struggling to figure out how we would save for our kids.†NRO [emphasis mine
What Mrs. Obama fails to mention in the speech is that she had a salary of just over 100 thousand dollars a year that went up to over 300 thousand a year after her hubby was elected tot he Senate. With a salary like that she could certainly afford to pay her loans back much easier than the less well connected who graduate with massive debt. Barack Obama’s books might have provided a great deal of wealth and made their lives easier but they were not hurting in any way shape or form and could certainly pay their bills. She lied, his books were not the ONLY reason they are not saddled with debt. If they could not pay the loans on her salary then there is no way we should let them around a federal budget.
It would appear as if deception is a trait in the Obama family. Barack Obamination’s campaign is reported to have contacted the Canadian ambassador to the US and told him that the campaign would be saying some rough stuff about NAFTA but it was just campaign rhetoric and he did not intend to mess with the trade agreement. Obama’s campaign did not deny it, they instead said the news was inaccurate. To me this means there is some substance and CTV News is sticking to the story. Yes there were denials from both sides of the border. I guess that should set it straight because we all know that politicians and ambassadors do not lie (I never had sex with that woman) and would never deny something that was true. I don’t know if this is true but it does not pass the sniff test.
While I am discussing Obama, let me throw in a little tid bit I read at Big Lizard’s. Barack Obama has talked about the politics of old and discussed how he is not a man of the past. He talks about how dirty politics have no place in the process and discusses the dirt of the Clintons as either politics as usual or the signs of a campaign in dire circumstances. Dafydd at Big Lizard’s points out that Obama has a pattern of dirty politics. From his first run for office in Illinois to subsequent campaigns, he has been suspect with regard to the dirt and unethical behavior that is more often associated with the Clintons. Now, Obama is from Illinois and it is not unreasonable to suspect that he has been involved in the type of dirty politics synonymous with Chicago. I recommend reading the article as it is pretty eye opening.
It seems that the Obamas are nothing more than elitist Democrats who pander to the emotions of the poor and less fortunate while living lives of luxury and steamrolling anyone who gets in the way. I can understand that they started off with debt and had a hard time. As pointed out in her speech:
Mrs. Obama also bemoaned the amount of money she has to spend — nearly one-third of the median household income in Zanesville — on piano, dance, and other lessons for her two children.
Must be tough for people who have to figure out how to buy food for their children to hear how tough Michelle Obama has it paying for her daughter’s necessary lessons. Reminds me of a story I heard (I think about the Great Depression) where school children were asked to write about poverty. A child from a wealthy family wrote; Being poor is tough. The butler is poor, the cook is poor, the maid is poor, the…”
The Obamas want to spread hope. They just hope you do not wise up and realize what they really are.
Hillary’s Speech; The Substance of Socialism

Hillary Clinton has done another campaign makeover and the new theme of the day is the power of speeches over the power of solutions. Bill and Hillary were both out today reading from the same memo where they are attacking Obama hard with this rhetoric; Do you want someone who delivers speeches or someone who delivers solutions. Of course, the question is asked in a speech and there is not a hell of a lot of solution to be found in the past of either candidate. Let us look at Hillary’s idea of solution:
- “We’ll take on the oil companies and harness their record profits to create millions of clean energy jobs — high-wage jobs you can raise a family on. I’ll end their special tax breaks and give them a choice: invest some of your profits in alternative energy, or we’ll do it for you. People have been paying through the roof at the pump, and it’s time the companies paid their fair share.â€
- “We’ll take on the credit card companies so that you and your families aren’t drowning in debt. Here in Ohio, payday lenders are actually taking Social Security checks from our elderly. That’s outrageous. I’ve proposed real consumer protections against abusive interest rates…”
- “We’ll take on the insurance companies and tell them they can no longer discriminate against the sickest people who need care the most. They spend more than $50 billion a year trying to figure out how not to cover people. Well, I’m going to save them a fortune and a whole lot of time, because here’s the new policy: No more discrimination period…”
- “And I’ll go after drug companies and insurance companies that are overcharging consumers and the government — it’s time to end their profiteering at our expense”
- “We’ll take on Wall Street and tell them: you’re going to finally pay your fair share in taxes. Because it’s outrageous that a teacher making $50,000 pays a higher tax rate than some Wall Street investment managers making $50 million…”
- “We’ll take on the student loan companies and tell them no more ripping off our sons and daughters. I’m proposing a Student Borrower Bill of Rights — no more deceptive advertising and outrageous fees…”
Notice the common theme here. Hillary and big government are going to take over all these businesses and people and tell them how they have to conduct themselves, how much profit they can make and how much they may charge for their services. Hillary is trying to have a government takeover of all these areas so that she can have her hands in everything you do. She is not smart enough to run an effective campaign but she is smart enough to decide for you and for companies.
Oil companies make a great deal of profit in raw dollars but their profit margin is about 11%. There are many companies with higher profit margins that Hillary will leave alone because she cannot sensationalize without the big dollar figures. The major oil companies do not receive the tax breaks she is talking about. The tax breaks were given to smaller oil companies in Texas and Louisiana by their elected officials to help them compete. The oil companies spend millions of dollars in programs around the world and they make little profit on gasoline. Oil is a global commodity and the price is decided globally. Also, taxes comprise a big part of the cost of gasoline and even with those taxes we pay less than most other countries.
People who get themselves in trouble with credit cards have no one to blame but themselves. If they sign up for a card and keep accumulating debt on it then it will take forever to pay it off. It is not the government’s job to step in and fix this problem. This involves personal responsibility. If you can’t afford it, don’t buy it. If you are too stupid to figure that out then don’t get a credit card.
School loans are the same way. If there are illegal practices then they should be taken care of but the fact is some people take on a great deal of debt they cannot handle to go to college. The government does not belong in this business and it is once again a matter of personal responsibility. If you are too stupid to enter into a contract that you can reasonably afford then you are probably too stupid to be in college in the first place. You should get a job doing the work that most Americans will not do and send the ILLEGALS home.
It costs drug companies a fortune to develop new drugs and it costs them even more money each time an ambulance chasing lawyer sues them because 0.01% of all people who used a drug had a reaction. Drug companies may only keep a patent for a limited period of time and then it can go generic so they have to capture their expenses in a short period of time which means the drugs will cost more money. I always shook my head at patients who said they could not afford their $90 a month medication but who told me they smoked 2 packs of cigarettes a day ($180 a month). It is a matter of priorities. Also, some drug companies have programs where they give drugs to people who cannot afford them so there are ways to get them. Older generics work fine and cost less. We also need to take into consideration the amount of money the companies spend to get drugs approved by the FDA. That is a lengthy process and it costs time and money. Do people want to remove this safeguard?
Health insurance companies have many problems and there are things that could be done better. If we want health care to be affordable get government out of the business. States require health care companies to provide a wide array of services before they can offer their plans for sale. This drives the cost up. There are also many doctors who practice defensive medicine in that they order a number of unnecessary tests to cover their rear ends so that someone does not get sick and hire an ambulance chaser like John Edwards to sue the hell out of the them. This drives health care costs up. I have written about how health care deliver can be better and some of it involves personal responsibility and less government involvement.
Interestingly, Hillary is striking hard at the very companies that she has accepted money from in the past. She is promising to take money from companies that employ middle class workers and whenever companies have less money they have fewer workers. Her plans will not save money and will drive the cost of services up while increasing unemployment. She is pandering to everyone, everywhere in order to make promises she cannot possibly keep.
She had her head handed to her in eight straight primaries and there is no mathematical way she can win this nomination. It is going to go to the convention. She knows she cannot win but she is putting out lies and false promises in order to gain support in the big states to narrow the delegate deficit. She wants the brokered convention to pick her and she is trying to put out her liberal bonafides. She is the candidate of solutions, not speeches.
Just listen to her speeches and she will tell you so…

Bill Clinton is an Ass

Bill Clinton was being interviewed on WMAL-AM yesterday and he said two things that take more gall than one can imagine. While discussing his wife’s campaign he said:
“I think she has been the underdog ever since Iowa,” Clinton said. “She’s had, you know, a lot of the politicians, like Senator Kennedy, opposed to her. She’s had, the political press has avowedly played a role in this election. I’ve never seen this before.”
He said they’d done well considering their slim budget. “We’ve gotten plenty of delegates on a shoestring,” he said. [emphasis mine]
Since Hillary Clinton announced she was running for president she has raised $140 MILLION. How in the name of all that is good can anyone say that this amount of money is a shoestring. The fact is the money was not managed well and they went through it like they had an endless supply. This is how they go through taxpayer money as well. If $140 MILLION is a shoestring or slim budget imagine how much money they will want to take from us. After all, it is a pittance, a shoestring (a slim budget)…
He has never seen anything like this before? We all have but it was when the Clintons were getting the favorable press. During Bill’s time in office the MSM helped cover up all the scandals that erupted. Hell, Drudge blew the lid on the Monica story after the MSM sat on it to protect Bill.
Bill Also said this in reference to Hillary and the remark by David Shuster (pimping out):
Added the president, “She just stuck up for her daughter, and for girls everywhere, and women everywhere, and it’s about time somebody did after a lot of the rhetoric we’ve been through in this election.”
It is amazing that Bill feels it was about time someone stuck up for women everywhere. The time to do that would have been while he was having sex with one of them in the Oval Office. Hillary should have stuck up for women everywhere by not covering up Bill’s adulterous affairs and his rapes. She intimidated women to keep them from speaking up and she had a bimbo eruption team at the White House to squash women who presented with allegations of sexual misconduct. I bet Mrs. Lewinsky wished Hillary had stuck up for her daughter.
This man is a piece of work and it is just absolutely amazing that he can say these kinds of things with a straight face. What is more amazing is that there are people out there who will believe him and think this is sincere. There are those who will draw no comparison between Bill’s words and his deeds.
One last thing, notice how Bill said “her daughter” and not our daughter. Do you suppose that was Freudian?

Hillary Can Control Bill

In a recent ABC interview the involvement of former President Bill Clinton was addressed by Hillary. She indicated that any statements he made were not intended to be offensive. Then Cynthia McFadden asked Hillary if she could control Bill.
Her response was; “Oh of course.â€
How is it we are supposed to believe that she can control him when she could not do that in all the years since they met? She sent her father and brother to Arkansas (before they were married) while she was away to keep him from sleeping around and there have been countless women who admitted to having consensual affairs as well as those who claimed to have been raped by him. Then, of course, there was Monica Lewinsky and that whole ugly affair. Despite their denials and defamation of Gennifer Flowers she turned out to be telling the truth when Bill admitted to having an affair with her. Despite his denials and cover up by Hillary, the Lewinsky affair turned out to be true. Even though he denied it and his people tried to portray her as a star struck kid, she turned out to be the one telling the truth.
So tell me, how is is she can control him when she has failed to do so since the time they met?

Clinton Pulls Ad That was Full of Lies

I wrote earlier that the Clinton mantra is that it isn’t illegal until they tell you it is and a variation of that can be used for the way they run their campaign. To the Clintons it is OK or non offensive until someone says it is. This is the case with a recent ad that the Clinton crime family was running in South Carolina. The ad was full of lies and half truths with regard to Barack Obama. A lot of people were very unhappy with the ad and the outright lies in it and these people were Democrats. The ad was pulled earlier today not long after it started running.
The Clintons will continue this approach and hope that something they do sticks. They will sling mud and if it causes backlash their way they will wipe off the mud and sling some from a different direction. Eventually they will find a handful that will stick to Obama and get people to question his candidacy. The first tactics involved Hillary crying and Bill attacking Obama the night before and election. The MSM is reporting that this tactic has gotten old with the Democratic faithful and some are beginning to look at Bubba in a new light. In Nevada it was claims of voter irregularities leveled by Bill Clinton even though the real intimidation was the actions of Clinton people.
Now that Bill has been warned by the elder party statesmen, they had to devise a new plan and that plan involved spreading lies about Obama. Fortunately, many in the party saw this for what it was and pitched a fit forcing the Clinton gang to remove the ad.
This is not the end. Obama leads in South Carolina by nearly 20 points even though Hillary had a double digit lead as late as last November. She is playing down SC but her campaign is actively trying to win it because they have invested quite a bit in the state. Obama led by double digits in New Hampshire and lost to the beast and it is quite possible he can lose again. It all depends upon how many illegitimate votes the Clintons can muster.
Regardless of the outcome, the Clintons will continue to throw mud all the while hoping some of it sticks. I guess they are not aware that if you throw enough mud you are left in a hole.
