AARP Employees To Pay More For Health Care

AARP announced that its employees will pay higher premiums due to two things. The first is the rising cost of health care and the second is Obamacare. AARP endorsed Obamacare and now its employees will pay more so that AARP does not get hit with the Cadillac tax on insurance plans that provide more (can’t have someone getting more than another in the redistributive world) than allowed under the law.

So AARP employees, you can thank your liberal biased organization for your increase.

The thing that interests me is that AARP is raising the cost to employees to avoid the 40% tax on expensive plans. Why? AARP knew that Obamacare would result in higher costs and that taxes would be needed to pay for it and like all liberals that organization believes in tax increases. So why would AARP avoid paying taxes?

Seems to me that liberals love to talk about how they are happy to pay more in taxes but none of them send extra money to the Treasury and they are always looking for ways to avoid taxes.

Rangel, Geithner, Kerry, AARP, and who knows how many Obama appointees have worked not to pay taxes or have ignored them completely.

I keep getting stuff from AARP because they want me to join. I was going to send them a letter telling them I would never join and to stop mailing stuff to me but then I decided to let it keep coming. I would rather they keep wasting their money printing and mailing that stuff to me.

Besides, it helps the postal service…

About Those Democrats And Cheating In Elections

In Connecticut the Governor’s race is really close and there is no official winner. The Secretary of State declared the Democrat the “unofficial” winner even though the Republican is leading by 8000 votes. Well we all know what happens when a Democrat is behind in the vote count.

A bag of ballots is mysteriously discovered:

In what has become one of the stranger twists in an already bizarre Governor’s race, a bag of uncounted ballots was found in Bridgeport Thursday night.

Republican officials were approached by Democratic operatives and told about the surprise ballot bag, according to Bridgeport GOP Chairman Marc Delmonico.

Delmonico said Democrats asked to have several people deputized to count the uncounted ballots, but Republicans objected, claiming that wasn’t proper procedure in the vote-counting process. NBC Connecticut

Isn’t it odd that Democrats found a bag of uncounted ballots while the Republican is leading in the Governor’s race? And they wanted to count them on the spot instead of following procedure, how convenient.

Want to bet the bag contains just enough ballots to push the Democrat over the top?

This is Al Franken all over. Keep working to get the right number and then declare victory and move on. It is typical of the left.

And something similar is happening in North Carolina where the winner of NC2 was far enough ahead that there was no automatic recount. Suddenly the vote lead changes by 500 and her opponent and loser says he will demand a recount. Her opponent is the guy who physically assaulted a college student. Who is working to help him get back in?

Evil PhRMA Once Again Democrats’ Friend

We all know that (mmm mmm mmm) Barack Hussein Obama talks a good game and says what people want to hear but then does what he wants to. He said no lobbyists but they donated to him and he has hired them to work in his regime. He said he would close Gitmo and did not. He said his people did not speak to Blago about his open Senate seat but they did. So we know he is a liar and we know that he will asy or do anything for political gain, especially when it comes to pushing his Socialist agenda.

Wall Street is full of bad guys and Obama gives them a tongue lashing and promises financial reform. They happen to be huge donors to him and other Democrats so the financial rules will help them immensely.

Obama also painted the pharmaceutical companies as evil and regularly bashed them during the health care takeover debate. While he was speaking to America about how evil they are he was behind closed doors cutting deals that favor them for inclusion in the health care bill.

The evil Pharmaceutical Researchers and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) [and all the affiliated drug companies] are not really all that evil to Obama and they don’t mind being slapped around publicly as long as they get their rewards for being the whipping boys. And they have been rewarded handsomely for their efforts.

Harry Reid helped push the health care bill through so the drug companies owe him quite a bit and to show their thanks they have been contributing a great deal of money to his campaign. They want him reelected because they know he will look out for them rather than for the American citizens and the people of his home state. Harry Reid sold out the majority of Americans in favor of the drug companies (among many special interest groups) and they want to continue that relationship. They need their own personal stooge in the government to help them get sweetheart deals at the expense of taxpayers.

The drug companies are not only donating lots of money to Reid but have also paid for TV ads in support of him. I reckon that the libs are not really all that upset with the SCOTUS ruling that says companies can spend as much as they want or Reid, as a matter of principle, would not accept the help. Of course, Reid is not a man of principle or he would not have sided with PhRMA over the people.

Barack Obama made the drug companies his regular patsy and made them out to be friends of Republicans. If you believe Obama and his Democrats then you would think that the drug companies gave lots and lots of money to Republicans while the lowly Democrats were fighting against their evil ways.

The reality is, Obama and the rest of the Democrats are quite friendly with PhRMA and take lots of money. Obama will be in Nevada next week to do a fundraiser for Reid so it will be like old home week with Obama and Reid there and the drug companies financing things.

Do you think Obama will bash them and tell them not to spend their money on Reid? After the insult he threw at the SCOTUS in his State of the Union Address one would think Obama is so opposed he would demand that it stop.

No, these people only want to win and they do not care how they do it. They will run a massive Democrat voter registration drive and call it immigration reform and they will make bogey men out of businesses that they are in bed with all in order to look like they are taking up for the little guy when what they are really taking is lot of special interest money.

The next time some liberal/progressive twit (like Obama or Reid) starts talking about Republicans being in bed with the drug companies inform the moron that the Democrats took lots of money from the drug companies and gave them sweetheart deals as part of the health care takeover.

Point them to this post or the linked article and ask them to explain why Harry Reid takes so much PhRMA money.

Its because these guys are in bed with the special interests and will do anything to retain power.

Vote them all out in November and cripple Obama’s agenda.

Democrats Reauthorize Patriot Act

The Democrats opposed the Patriot Act when Bush was the president, or at least they pretended to. They went on rants about how horrible it was, what an invasion of privacy it was, blah, blah. They tried to end it and to stop it and to change it because everyone knows Bush was really Hitler and he wanted to listen to granny discuss whole grain cookie recipes to help with constipation.

As a candidate for president, then-Sen. Barack Obama railed against parts of USA Patriot Act that gave the Bush administration sweeping powers to intercept phone and e-mail communications in the name of fighting terrorism with little judicial or congressional oversight, and Obama pledged to institute “robust” checks and balances if elected. The Democrats wanted some provisions in there to add more oversight to the process but those did not make it in. They voted for it and Obama signed it anyway. In other words, the Democrats and Obama extended the very same Patriot Act that they bashed when Bush was president. They passed that which they claimed to have opposed. Obama signed a bill that contains something he was against when he was running for office. He signed a bill that does not do what he promised he would.

The Democratic Underground is not happy.

Neither is Counter Currents.

I guess this is not the change they were looking for or as one of them put it, the more things change…

Those sneaky Democrats added this to the Medicare Physician Payment Reform Act . They did not even have the testicular fortitude to do this as a separate piece of legislation. I think it was by design. Now they can claim they had to vote for it (and Obama can claim he had to sign it) because if they did not Medicare would suffer. Republicans have cover as well. They can claim they had to vote for it because it extended the Patriot Act.

Cowards all.

All Show, No Go

Well, it is a fact, our Resident has no substance, and should in no way be taken seriously, at least by real men and women in the real world.
As we say in Texas, he is all hat and no cattle, someone you dismiss as not truly to be taken seriously- not a true player. He reminds me of the kid with big ears who comes up with the most outrageous lies, just to get attention. This is our leader- small “l”- because he is a small person in all except ego. To him, and probably by extension the rest of the WH, perception is reality.

Case in point- the photo op with selected “doctors” (I have the word “doctors” in quote marks, because I am not convinced that they are all, indeed, real doctors)- in order to make it more visually arresting, the WH staff handed out white lab coats so people could easily see the “sea” of white.

A sea of 150 white-coated doctors, all enthusiastically supportive of the president and representing all 50 states, looked as if they were at a costume party as they posed in the Rose Garden before hearing Obama’s pitch for the Democratic overhaul bills moving through Congress.

The physicians, all invited guests, were told to bring their white lab coats to make sure that TV cameras captured the image.

But some docs apparently forgot, failing to meet the White House dress code by showing up in business suits or dresses.

So the White House rustled up white coats for them and handed them to the suited physicians who had taken seats in the sun-splashed lawn area.

All this to provide a visual counter to complaints from other doctors that pending legislation is bad news for the medical profession.

150 doctors, if indeed they all were- from all fifty states. That works out to three doctors per state- not many are in favor of this plan.

Now we have dueling doctors- pro and anti- stethoscopes at ten paces- but this is all about perception, not substance for Nobama, because on substance, he loses every time. He is the ghost in the machine, and he’s trying his best to gum up the works for everyone else. I no longer even think he means what he says- he is too wrapped up in the illusion.

The president was flanked by four white-coated doctors at a podium as he delivered his pep talk.

“When you cut through all the noise and all the distractions that are out there, I think what’s most telling is that some of the people who are most supportive of reform are the very medical professionals who know the health-care system best,” the president said.

“I want to thank every single doctor who is here,” Obama said. “And I especially want to thank you for agreeing to fan out across the country and make the case about why this reform effort is so desperately needed.”

Underlying the strictly photo-op nature of the event, The Associated Press noted that Obama broke no new ground in his remarks.

Because there is never any new ground in an illusion- that is the nature of an illusion- it is unsubstantial at its core, and doesn’t get any more solid over time. Smoke and mirrors is just that- smoke and mirrors.

Speaking of which, now Bill Ayers, the Weather underground admitted murderer and domestic terrorist (Gee- don’t you want him for a friend? Perhaps a BFF?) admitted that the Resident did not actually write his book “Dreams of my Father”, but had Billy do it for him. I guess he was too busy organizing his “community”.

Anne Leary of Back Yard Conservative was passing through Washington, DC’s Reagan National Airport yesterday, and was surprised to come across Bill Ayers at Starbucks: “scruffy, thinning beard, dippy earring, and the wire rims, heading to order.” She struck up a conversation with him and snapped the accompanying photo. I interviewed Anne this morning about it.

Ayers was in Washington, he told her, for a conference on education.

“That’s what I do, education,” he said. “You shouldn’t believe everything you hear about me… You know nothing about me.”

To which she responded, “I said, I know plenty–I’m from Chicago, a conservative blogger, and I’ll post this.”

I bet his heart skipped a beat on that one.

But he didn’t scowl, and didn’t run off as he has been known to do. Instead, unprompted, he blurted out: “I wrote ‘Dreams From My Father… Michelle asked me to.” Then he added “And if you can prove it we can split the royalties.”

Really? The authorship of that book, the one that launched our Faker in Chief’s Residential run, is in doubt?  Nobama lied? Are you really surprised? It would have been more convincing to me if the teleprompter had written it, instead of (allegedly now) Nobama. That Billy Ayers would make that claim strikes a chord of truth. It may actually be the most truthful statement we get out of anyone connected to this administration.

Was he, as she had asked, pulling our collective legs? Other sources report rumors that Ayers is very upset both about not getting any credit for helping Obama on ‘Dreams,’ and may also be put off by being summarily thrown under the bus along with Rev. Wright and everyone else who becomes an inconvenience to this President.

My understanding of communists is that most would know better and keep their mouths shut. But Ayers is a bit different. He is, as he says, a “small ‘c’ communist,” but he is also, in a certain, slimy way, an entrepreneur, as we explained in Monday’s post. (Apologies in advance to entrepreneurs everywhere.) He grew up a very rich kid, used to getting everything he wanted. Even as an adult his career has relied on a hand up from his wealthy father. His past statements and radical activities also mark him as a megalomaniac. In youth he drew attention to himself by blowing things up. As an adult “educator” he merely attempts to subvert children. But that doesn’t seem to be going so well.

He is under a lot of pressure, too. Ayers and his horrid wife Bernardine Dohrn are believed to have planned and executed the San Francisco Park Police Station bombing in 1970 that killed police sergeant Brian V. McDonnell and wounded several others. Efforts to bring them to justice have been underway for some time, as brought to light this past March in a National Press Club conference put on by Cliff Kincaid of America’s Survival.

Yep- just like everyone else liberal, he has an unsatisfied “inner child”- but then so does Nobama, who gets Billy to do his “homework” for him. Is there no one honest in this administration? I feel like I have the lantern in my hands,and I am looking for one, just one honest man in the administration.

I fear there is not a one- certainly Barry and the rest of his little cadre are liars one and all- their hero is obviously Josef Goebbels, with his grasp of propaganda, which just raises lying to an art form. As many “photo- ops” as his cabal have staged, a person could very reasonably be excused for not believing a single word that comes from politicians, especially the liberals in power now.

Perception is illusion- not reality.

Not with this administration.
