So Obama Did Lie, Shocker

You can’t see it but I have my shocked face on display. It is not like saying Obama lied is some startling revelation since he lies constantly. I don’t need to go through the list so I will just cite one; if you like your doctor you can keep your doctor.
When Obama was selling us the snake oil known as Obamacare he and the Democrats who supported it (all of them) told us it would bend the cost curve down and that it would be wonderful. We knew it was a pack of lies (they need to control health care in order to carry out rules for radicals rule #1) but now that it has been in effect for a few years the truth and what we believed all along are on full display.
Obamacare costs too much money, it makes health insurance unaffordable for many people, it adds to the nation’s debt and the individual’s tax burden and it is being dropped by many insurance companies that once supported it (for big money, no doubt).
Lost in all the Obamacare lies is the whopper he told about illegal aliens not being able to get Obamacare coverage. Joe Wilson, a Congressman, once famously shouted “you lie” when Obama said illegal aliens would not be covered. Wilson held the view that bill would provide government subsidies to illegals. He had to apologize for his breech of decorum but apologizing for saying it does not mean he was incorrect in his assessment.
In fact he has been proven right to the tune of $750 MILLION. A Senate report shows that the federal government provided 750 million dollars in subsidies to illegal aliens. These are people known to be here illegally or who failed to provide the required documentation to show they were here legally.
In true government fashion, rather than wait for proof to provide coverage the government provided the money and now wants it back.
Yes, the law technically does not allow illegals to receive this handout (and all subsidies are handouts, period) but that did not stop illegals from getting the money. This was all by design. You see, now that the money was dispensed the government will have one hell of a time getting any of it back. This was certainly by design. Obama needed millions to sign up for his disaster of a law and blindly giving away money got people signed up. The government does not care that 750 MILLION dollars went into the garbage bin as long as illegals were covered and the numbers looked better (they never looked good).
Yes, the law prohibited illegals from getting subsidies but it did not verify status and it did not stop them from buying their own coverage on the exchanges.
All by design.
Wilson was right and we are out 750 MILLION dollars.
Obamacare has been a failure and a disaster. So it was a success for Obama. He needed it to be to push for more government control (rules for radicals). Remember that when you go to the polls this November. Hillary and Bernie supported Obamacare and Bernie wants to give you even more costly socialized medicine. When you get your penalty notice (the Supreme Court calls it a tax and the IRS calls it a shared responsibility but the law calls it a penalty) and have to pay the IRS or your change (it is not a refund it is the change due you from your remittance) is lower than it should have been you can blame Obama and his Democrats and know that Clinton and Sanders mean more of the same.
America needs to be free again and it can only do so if we remove the shackles the government has placed upon us.
That starts by rejecting the task masters on the left (and that includes the tyrants in the House and Senate).
We need to replace as many of them as we can while we still have a republic (no, not a Democracy).

Does Obamacare Cover Federal Assault?

Obamacare was passed in order for government to control more of our lives and the real reason many Republicans won’t really fight to get rid of it is because they like control as well. When government controls your health care it controls you (and when it takes away your firearms it completely controls you and you have no means to resist).
Obamacare is so wonderful that it had to have penalties built into it to force people to join. It was sold on the promise that it would not affect those who had insurance but many folks ended up losing the doctors and insurance coverage Barry Obama promised them they could keep. Those who figured it would not affect them were suddenly caught up in the mix and were subject to the rules and penalties.
Let me be clear, regardless of what Chief Justice Roberts calls it, the money paid for noncompliance is a penalty. Obama ran around the country screaming that this was not a tax and he even chided George Stephanopoulos for suggesting it was a tax at which time Obama enthusiastically informed him it absolutely was not. It is a shared responsibility penalty.
The law called it a penalty and Chief Justice Roberts and those who sided with him got it wrong. It is a penalty for not buying something government wants you to buy (even the linked article below calls this a “federal penalty”).

But back on target. Those penalties are now coming into full swing (they were lower in the beginning) and many folks will be socked with a pretty big bill from the IRS if they do not have insurance.
This amount will either be added to what they owe or deducted from their refund. Either way many folks will end up losing money simply because they did not purchase something they did not want (or could not afford).
Obamacare needs to force people, even those who are young and healthy or able to pay out of pocket, to sign up in order to pay for everything it promises.
The Obama regime plans to remind people of this penalty during the upcoming enrollment season. The idea is to scare people into signing up because without those folks paying in for things they might not want or need the entire thing goes belly up.
The idea of lower costs is out the door as premiums are going up again next year. Perhaps those without insurance are causing the problem but the more likely reason is that this federal monstrosity is very bloated and expensive.
It has to be in order to make the government bigger, to control our lives and to achieve the liberal goal of wealth redistribution.
No one should be forced to buy what they do not want or to pay for things for other people. But, people should pay their own bills if they end up needing medical care (payment plans work for more than cars and cell phones).
Last year the total amount of penalties collected by the IRS was 1.5 BILLION dollars. I only hope that most of it affected liberals who supported Obamacare.
I also hope the larger penalties will affect them as well.

What Happens If the US Defaults?

The United States is supposed to be the world’s superpower and the dollar the world’s currency but America is unable to control its spending. Despite taking in record amounts of money the federal government continues to spend even more.
We have 18 TRILLION dollars of debt but we have over 100 TRILLION in unfunded liabilities. These are things the government has promised but cannot pay for. When the day comes for those items to be paid the US will not honor the obligations because it will be unable to.
The war cry from liberals is to tax the rich more. The wealthy folks in our country pay most of the taxes. The bottom 47% of earners pay NO federal tax and often get back more than was withheld in an income redistribution scheme overseen by the IRS.
Taxing the wealthy would not solve the problem. If we confiscated 100% of the money the wealthy have the government would run out of that money in a few months. Then there would be no more to take and we would still have huge bills to pay.
China, among other nations, holds a lot of our debt. If China ever called for us to pay them everything back we would go under. The Chinese could collapse our economy, and thus our nation, and it would never have to take a hostile act to do it.
We are in serious trouble and it is getting worse. Soon, if things do not change, we will be like Greece.
The government there is looking at every possibility to solve its financial woes and that includes confiscating money from citizens and limiting their access to their own money. The US has schemes and one of them is to confiscate all the money in the various retirement plans throughout the nation. Doing so would give the government TRILLIONS of dollars to spend. It would keep us from defaulting for a while but it would leave everyone penniless. We would all be wards of the state.
Nanny state types will insist it is for the greater good and that the money confiscated can pay bills and be used to evenly pay every person a retirement. It would allow them to redistribute to the poor who have little or no retirement money saved while forcing those who saved to accept small amounts and live meager lives in retirement.
This of course assumes that the public will not revolt and stop this from happening by any means possible. That is a distinct possibility since people do not like their money to be screwed with. The poor who stand to gain will likely support it as will politicians who want to enslave even more people to the government plantation. Those who stand to lose will likely not take any action lying down.
The unrest will make for an environment where any enemy can take advantage and start trouble.
This all because our government can’t live within our means. This because our government insists on spending money on things that are not authorized by the Constitution. This because the tax system is screwed up and complicated and because the money that is confiscated from the people of the states is held over the heads of the states to gain compliance with ever increasing federal rule.
We need to abolish the IRS, change to a simpler tax system where EVERY wage earner pays (and we all pay the same percentage) and we need to harness the out of control government to force it to only spend money on things it is allowed to spend on.
Troubling times are coming and we will all pay a heavy price for the things our arrogant government is doing.

Government Expects You To Trust It With Your Data

The IRS suffered a breach and upwards of 100,000 people had their tax returns stolen (or accessed?). The information taken contains enough data to commit identity theft. Name, address, social security number and bingo, someone else is masquerading as you and ruining your credit.
This comes on the heels of the White House and State Department breaches.
The Government believes that Russian hackers are responsible for all of the data breaches.
Does it matter who did it? I mean, it matters so they can try to find the culprits and possibly arrest them but the reality is the damage is done.
The government wants you to do everything electronically from filing taxes to signing up for Obamacare. It is also requiring medical records be electronic.
Imagine what information hackers could get from medical records…
The government is not capable of protecting you or your information. It talks a good game but time after time we have a breach and the typical response is they are sorry and will offer credit monitoring.
This does not solve the issue of lax security from agencies that are supposed to have cyber security experts. Breaches will continue because agencies do not care about masses of people whose names they do not know. It will continue as long as an atmosphere of politics envelops the culture of an agency that is more concerned with doing what is politically expedient (or motivated) rather than what is right to do.
Perhaps the government should be required to pay any person affected by a breach $10,000 and that money should come from the operating budget of the agency involved with NO increase in taxpayer funds to the agency or to cover the expense. If a BILLION dollars came out of the IRS budget for this breach it might feel more compelled to do what is right and protect our data.
Then again, this is the agency that can’t keep emails, attacks political opponents and illegally gives taxpayer information to connected people for political use.
They just don’t care, now do they?
We need to start firing people when this happens and we can keep firing and hiring new folks until someone gets it right.
The government collects tons and tons of data on each and every one of us. That data is vulnerable even though they are obligated to protect it.
Keep that in mind when government tells you it needs to collect even more of your personal information…

IRS Follows The Law…When It Can

IRS Commissioner John Koskinen told the Congressional Ways and Means subcommittee that the agency follows the law when it can. While being questioned he told members of Congress; “Whenever we can, we follow the law.”
Texas Republican Representative Kevin Brady told Koskinen; “I encourage you to follow the law in all instances.”
This follow the law when we can mentality is probably what led to all the law breaking under Lois Lerner. She was supposed to follow the law but she didn’t. The IRS is supposed to follow laws about backing up data but it didn’t.
The agency probably decided that it just could not follow those pesky laws.
How do you suppose the IRS would treat taxpayers who follow tax laws “when they can”?
