More Indoctrination Of College Kids

The indoctrination of our youth continues to inch down to lower and lower grades each and every year so that now we have children singing the state sponsored praises to Dear Leader Obama (one of the four greatest, by his own estimate) instead of actually learning valuable lessons of life. Sure, they learn how to game the welfare system, how to apply for and exploit the free lunch program and how to play the victim card before they know how to read but at least they are good servants of the regime.

No wonder so many of our youth have grown into people who think there is such thing as a free lunch. It is free to them but someone else paid for it. This is what the Occupy folks want, other people’s property (OPP).

The indoctrination has been going on for years in our alleged institutions of higher learning. It is even more evident today as Columbia University will now offer a class in Occupy Wall Street. The class will require some field work as students get to participate in the “movement”.

Imagine that, the kids will pay for a class and then they will be used as tools of the left to participate in the left’s anti government protests. This is pure genius on the part of the Socialists at Columbia. Offer a class on protesting and make kids pay for the class then use them to protest for you. Make them pay to work for you. Brilliant.

And the mush heads who attend this school will line up to participate. They should offer a class called Useful Idiots.

I have an issue here though. If this is all about the Occucpy movement and the idea that the man has the money and that the 1% needs to have it removed from them to give to others, shouldn’t Columbia be offering the class for free?

The EEOC has warned that requiring a high school diploma could run afoul of the ADA. I wonder if employers will be allowed to request college transcripts to see if their potential employee has taken a class on Occupying Wall Street.

Here is an idea for Columbia. How about you get some folks in your school to teach the Constitution. Not in the liberal, living document way, but in the manner in which it was written and intended to be used. There are plenty of folks qualified to teach that but you will likely not find them on your roster of professors.

They are too busy violating the rights of others as part of the FLEA Bag occupy movement.

How Obama Can Give A Good Message To School Kids

Barack Obama will deliver a speech to school children across the country and it is unprecedented. I know a couple of people who claim that George H W Bush did the same thing but this is inaccurate. Bush gave a speech at a school, it was picked up on broadcast media and schools tuned in. Obama is directing his speech to all the schools.

I certainly believe that Obama will give an innocuous speech. There has been too much focus on the issue for him to play politics though the text has yet to be released, so who knows? Obama is forging a path. He gets schools to allow him in, can see what school systems opted out, and can make future requests to give a speech to schools based on the precedent he will establish. Though he will likely tone it down, the teachers will probably use the experience to push favorable attitudes about Obama.

There has already been one change because it proved controversial:

Original:
Write letters to themselves about what they can do to help the president. These would be collected and redistributed at an appropriate later date by the teacher to make students accountable to their goals.

Revised:
Write letters to themselves about how they can achieve their short-term and long-term education goals. Teachers would collect and redistribute these at an appropriate later date to enable students to monitor their progress.

The part about what a student can do to help the Dear Leader was just a little too contentious and smacked of politics. The revision is more appropriate for school children. These items came from the Department of Indoctrination Education. The change probably came as more school systems opposed the intrusion by Obama.

I understand those who say Obama is just concerned for the children and wants to encourage them to do well in school. He wants to make sure they have motivation to do well. At least one commenter here has said there is nothing wrong with it.

Perhaps not. But if Obama wants to encourage children to do well in school and to show them that hard work and a good education pay off perhaps he should release his college transcripts. Perhaps he should have every school he attended release his records without redaction so that school children can see what hard work will do. If one wants to encourage school children then it is better to show them the results of hard work rather than preaching to them to do well.

Kids want to see these things for themselves.

So what say Barry, will you release the records from every school you attended in order to inspire the school children?

You libs always say the things you do are for the children. Will you put your money where your mouth is and actually do this?

After all, it is for the children…

Dear Leader Obama Set To Address The Youth

Barack Obama will be giving another address on Tuesday September 8^th but this time the target is every child in an American school. Barack Obama is set to be broadcast to every school in the country. This kind of reminds me of the dictators who address people who have no opition with regard to attending. Dear Leader Obama will give his speech to the school children and maybe he can get them to join the Hitler Obama youth corps where they can listen in on the conversations of mom and dad and report them if they oppose health care overhaul.

There is an agenda, or to do list for the little children to use in order to be worthy of listening to the Dear Leader. Here is a list of what the future Obama for America youth can do.

Why is Barack Obama beaming his big ears into the classrooms? Are schools required to participate or is this an option? What happens if certain children do not want to participate?

There is no significant event taking place that would require this kind of event. This is not like when man landed on the moon or when a former president is buried. There is no major item taking place that justifies this.

This is unprecedented and involves what I consider an intrusion into the classrooms across the country. Our children go to school and should be free from these kinds of interruptions especially when there is no good reason for this to take place.

What is the purpose? Is it indoctrination of our children at a young age while they are held captive by members of the teacher’s unions (who are in bed with people like Obama)?

I don’t know but I think this is wrong and I would have a problem with this kind of thing no matter who the White House occupant was. If there is no significant event justifying the appearance of Obama then one has to question the motive.

He might want to extol the virtues of a good education but that could have been done with a video that is played when the school felt it appropriate.

No, he has a captive audience and he can use the children to send the messages about his agenda home. The potential for abuse is too great and after the event is too late to act if what is said is inappropriate.

If I had school aged children I would keep them home on the 8^th.

UPDATE: Looks like the Obama Administration had a hand in helping to craft the assignment for the school children. The guidance has since been changed:

The Obama administration is rethinking its course recommendations for students ahead of President Obama’s address to the the nation’s schoolchildren next week, rewriting its suggestions to teachers for student assignments on how to “help the president,”

The Washington Times reported Thursday that presidential aides acknowledged they helped the U.S. Education Department write the suggested assignments, which stirred criticism by many who say Obama is trying to indoctrinate the education system. Fox News

This is one reason that the idea is inapporopriate. There is politics written all over this though I suspect Obama will tone it down and use caution. The intent has been discovered so he will be watched even more closely.
