Happy Independence Day 2015

It has been about a week or so since I have posted. I was enjoying some down time with my spousal unit playing golf and relaxing (playing golf and relaxing are not necessarily the same thing).

Today we celebrate our independence from an oppressive government. Given what our government is now doing to us from all three branches the idea of independence is more important today than it was hundreds of years ago. We are being attacked from all sides and the tyranny grows daily. I wonder if it is only a matter of time before the same situation occurs in this time as it did back then.

But today we celebrate the bravery of a small portion of the population that claimed enough is enough and took matters into their own hands.

Let us celebrate those who gave us this freedom and nation and let us continually oppose those in our present government who would enslave us once again.

Our Founders Did Not Give Us This Government

First the rogue government passed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) which includes a provision that allows the government to arrest anyone (including citizens) and detain them indefinitely for any acts the government deems support terrorism. It is well documented that language was introduced that would clearly exclude citizens and that it was voted down.

The language is ambiguous so they will be able to do what they want and will be able to defend their acts using the cover of an illegal law.

But just in case, there is a bill, HR 3166, that would strip US nationals of their citizenship for acts of hostility against the United States. Yes, if the population decides to take the same action against the government that our Founders took then the government would strip those involved of their citizenship. That would certainly make it easier for them to detain us under the NDAA.

Enemy Expatriation Act – Amends the Immigration and Nationality Act to include engaging in or purposefully and materially supporting hostilities against the United States to the list of acts for which U.S. nationals would lose their nationality. Defines “hostilities” as any conflict subject to the laws of war. [author note: they can decide what constitutes acts that are subject to the laws of war] Summary

Perhaps the people in Congress are worried because they have long ago passed the kind of tyranny from which this country fought to escape. They might have an inkling that the country is a powder keg and at anytime the collective last nerve will be plucked.

We conduct our revolutions at the ballot box in this day and age but that does not mean the people do not reserve the right to disband the bonds that tie them to government should that government fail to serve those people.

This bill is designed to allow our government one more tool to usurp the authority granted under the Constitution and to drive another nail in the coffin holding our freedom.

Dissent is patriotic and it is even more patriotic to fight peacefully or otherwise to keep our freedoms and I will be damned if any government official will ever remove my citizenship because I defended the Constitution against any enemy foreign or domestic.

The government is moving toward total control. How long will it be before we are approached with the words, “papers please”?

Oh wait, we already get that when we travel, unless we are illegals and then we are left alone (or given government welfare).

They have us under surveillance, they can detain us indefinitely without due process and now they want to strip our citizenship if we ever defend ourselves against their tyranny.

It would serve them well to remember these timeless words:

Happy 235th Birthday America

Happy birthday to the greatest nation in the world, something we should never apologize for. May this birthday mark the resurgence of patriotism and defiance of those who would try to fundamentally transform this nation or change its founding documents in order to enslave our citizens.

Red Skelton’s 1969 description of the Pledge is right on and appropriate even after all this time:

God bless the men and women who serve in our nation’s armed forces and God bless those who oppose tyranny and refuse to allow our nation to continue down the path of government intrusion and control of its people.

Today we celebrate our Independence which started with defiance of authority by brave men who were tired of tyranny. Let us never fear government.

Let us make government fear us.

The Supremes? Maybe Not So Much.

Here it comes, the biggest shift in policy the U.S. has known in many a year, as the first of possibly three Supreme Court Justices retires.

The first is David Souter, a supposedly centrist jurist that slipped by Bush 41, and immediately veered left, in the highest court in the land. This leftist shift caught Bush by surprise, and began a tilt to liberal causes until Justice Clarence Thomas, Justice Roberts, and Justice Sam Alito were appointed as conservatives to the bench.

In seeking Souter’s replacement, Barama said, ” I will seek someone who understands that justice isn’t about some abstract legal theory or footnote in a case book. It is also about how our laws affect the daily realities of people’s lives.” This is a truly ignorant statement from someone who claims to be a Constitutional lawyer. The job of a Supreme Court Judge is to interpret the Constitution and how it applies to the cases at hand, not to spoon feed a decision to a person contrary to case law, out of symapthy. Sympathy prejudices cases, not clarifies them. A person might be sympathetic to the case, but if the law doesn’t support that case, you are not allowed to bend the law, or make exceptions- that negates the whole reason for a Supreme Court.

This is the true beginning of just how radically this person wants to change your society and the principles we have had as our core values. Barama truly doesn’t understand, or if he does, he just wants to impose his views on us. That is a facet of totalitarianism, imposing one’s will on the rest of society, and it sucks like a wind tunnel. To impose his will on us is very Taliban of him- perhaps we should begin calling him Mullah Hussein.If he appoints a liberal activist to the court, it will be the first of possibly three as Justice Ginsburg doesn’t have a lot of time left, and Justice Kennedy will probably be sweet- talked into stepping down.

What I am afraid of is the distinct possibility that whoever Mullah Hussein picks will be an advocate for “Transnationalism”, a term that, when translated correctly, means that we are no longer independent or sovereign in our country’s legal decisions- we could be overridden by a court of foreigners, who do not believe in our Constitution, or our independence, and be forced to obey the U.N.- I could not envision a poorer scenario for our country. We would be legalistically raped by every third- world dictatorship with a chip on its shoulder.
This is how the end begins- by choosing someone for a job requiring logical thought, but insisting that “empathy” be the primary focus in the job description.

Empathy is what needs to be left out of these decisions, in order that they favor noone, but dispense justice even- handedly. This is supposed to be the very definition of justice- equitable, and true, favoring no one.
The big Mullah- Mullah wants something different, and in most times, he would have his dictatorial tendencies quashed by Congress, who would provide a brake on the Executive power, but with Nancy Pelosi’s ADD, and Harry Reid’s natural insanity,there is noone who can be the voice of reason, unless the rest of the Democrats stop blindly following their leaders like whipped dogs, and actually act like real lawmakers. There doesn’t seem to be much chance of that, even though they are losing, or on the verge of losing any power the Legislative branch once had.

Both Republicrats and Demicans have a chance here- a fork in the road, and it begins with the replacement of David Souter in the Supreme Court. On the one road, there is an activist in the court, one that might try to twist the law to fit an agenda- on the other road, is a judge who interprets the Constitution the way it is supposed to be interpreted, strictly and honestly, with the only agenda being the continued Constitutional Health our country needs to maintain a balance to usurping theories like “transnationalism”. Whoever thought that one up was truly high or insane, or both.

I’ll put it as plainly as I can to all the politicians on both sides- here it is in a nutshell-If transnationalists get on our court, two things will happen for sure. One, our legal landscape will no longer be easily navigated, as we will have totake into account the laws of other countries, and, Two, you will have lost the independence that the Legislative branch is supposed to have, separated from the Executive branch- remember the civics lessons in High School? No?

Well then, there’s our problem. We apparently have been electing the village idiots. Let us at least not appoint one to the Supreme Court.

Happy Birthday America

This great nation proclaimed its independence in 1776 and fought the British to gain just that. We became a nation in 1781 with the Articles of Confederation. Our new nation recognized that the form of government needed fine tuning and a Constitutional Convention was called for in 1787. Our Constitution went in effect March 4th 1789 and the Bill of Rights was ratified December 15th 1791.

It took from 1776 to 1791 to establish our government and ratify its governing documents. It took 15 years to get it right but that was time well spent. The United States has accomplished more in its short history than any other nation on this planet including those that have been around for thousands of years.

Keep this in mind when people complain about how long it is taking Iraq to form its government. Remember that it took us a long time to get established and we should not expect any other nation to move at any faster pace than our own country did. For what its worth, our government still moves at an extremely slow pace and we are not fighting a war on our soil.

I thank God for allowing me to be born in the USA thus giving me the gift of freedom.

I thank the US Military for keeping that gift from God safe.

For others, the day was a reminder of their duty to their country.

At Camp Victory outside Baghdad, 1,215 troops from the Army, Marines and other services re-enlisted in a mass swearing-in ceremony led by General David Petraeus, the top U.S. commander in Iraq. At least two husband and wife couples were among those signing up for another military stint.

Before an immense American flag hung in the rotunda of the palace headquarters of the U.S. military in Iraq, the troops saluted Petraeus, then sang “God Bless America.”

What a great military we have. At least these folks believe in their mission. Too bad Obamabi was not there to see this.
