Underestimated Or Ignored

Barack Obama claims that his regime underestimated the rise of ISIS and overestimated the ability of the Iraqi military to fend off that group. Obama made these statements in a 60 Minutes interview.

George W Bush warned that leaving Iraq before the place was stabile and not having a small force in place would result in some group filling the void. He was pretty clear this would happen.

Mitt Romney reiterated this during the debates with Barack Obama. Obama laughed him off.

It is now obvious that Bush and Romney were correct and Obama was wrong. But did Obama underestimate?

Probably not. He is a narcissist and thinks he knows everything. He was aware of what Bush said and Romney told him point blank what would happen so he knew.

He just chose to either ignore or not believe the information. I believe he ignored it because he did not want to give any credit to Bush or Romney. He did not want to say that they were right because he was supposed to be so smart.

He ignored it and now we are using our military to clean up the mess he made. It is pretty telling that the man who said that we could not solve the issues there with our military is now saying we need to use our military to solve issues there.

He should have listened and with ears that big he certainly was able to hear.

Perhaps he was unable because of where he keeps his head…

How Did Janet Napolitano Get Her Job?

It is unfortunate that many government jobs are given by appointment because Janet Napolitano, Director of Homeland Security, is unqualified to hold the position to which she was appointed. In the last two weeks she has done some amazingly stupid things.

About two weeks ago, and just before the TEA Parties, the DHS released its report on radical rightwing extremist groups which basically described all conservatives but threw in baseless accusations such as we are angry at a black man being elected president. The report targets returning veterans as potential extremists. This is a fine way to classify those who have the testicular fortitude to fight for this country.

Then, Napolitano made the statement that the 9/11 terrorists entered this country by crossing the Canadian border. This is absolutely incorrect. They flew into this country on documents issued by the State Department (and a few had MARYLAND driver’s licenses because Maryland gives them to everyone). Though she claims to have been misunderstood, it was quite clear what she said. She also tried to claim she was referring to a long debunked urban legend. She is full of bovine excrement.

The furor began when Napolitano was asked to clarify statements she had made about equal treatment for the Mexican and Canadian borders, despite the fact that a flood of illegal immigrants and a massive drug war are two serious issues on the southern border.

“Yes, Canada is not Mexico, it doesn’t have a drug war going on, it didn’t have 6,000 homicides that were drug-related last year,” she said.

“Nonetheless, to the extent that terrorists have come into our country or suspected or known terrorists have entered our country across a border, it’s been across the Canadian border. There are real issues there.”

When asked if she was referring to the 9-11 terrorists, Napolitano added: “Not just those but others as well.” [emphasis mine] CTV.ca

One would think the Director of the DHS might know the truth about the 9/11 terrorists. One might also think that she would know there is a big difference between the northern and southern borders. In the south, people sneak across illegally and stay here. They smuggle in drugs and they kill Americans. In the north, they come across, do business, and go home. They enter legally. Yes, some people have entered illegally via the northern border but nowhere near the scale that they do in the south.

The issue of the border brings us to ILLEGAL immigration. Napolitano is a little fuzzy when it comes to this topic as well. She seems to think that crossing the border illegally is not a crime. During an interview with CNN’s John King, Napolitano was discussing Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio and his quest to enforce the immigration laws. After she dismissed his efforts she said:

“What we have to do is target the real evil-doers in this business, the employers who consistently hire illegal labor, the human traffickers who are exploiting human misery.

“And yes, when we find illegal workers, yes, appropriate action, some of which is criminal, most of that is civil, because crossing the border is not a crime per se. It is civil. But anyway, going after those as well.” [emphasis mine]NewsMax

As the cited article points out, crossing the border is a crime punishable with a fine, jail time, or both. I am no lawyer but I believe that once an illegal is here and is caught it is a civil issue. Crossing the border is the felony. This is the dilemma. We know they committed a felony to get here but if we do not catch them actually crossing the border, it is a civil issue.

I have equated it to a man robbing a bank. If he robs the bank and gets away and a day later the cops find him spending the money, he has dye on his hands and his admits to the robbery, he is still guilty of a felony. Imagine if it were only a felony if they caught him robbing the bank but it was a civil issue if they caught him later. This is the insanity involved in our immigration laws.

Napolitano is one of the people who is supposed to protect the country but she is more interested in going after a law enforcement officer who is trying to uphold the law than the criminals who are breaking it (regardless of her “tough” rhetoric).

She thinks people who have conservative beliefs are rightwing extremists, that the 9/11 terrorists entered through Canada, and that crossing our border illegally is not a crime.

Like I said, it is unfortunate that these positions are political appointments because she has demonstrated that she is incompetent.

She should be relieved of her duties and replaced with someone who knows what he is doing.

Then again, she is what Obama wants. Someone who will be an advocate for the illegals.

Obama wants them as Democratic voters.

Why Is Paterson’s Color An Issue?

New York Governor David Paterson is a poor leader. It is not hard to see (no pun intended) that he is lost in his position much like Obama is lost in his. Paterson, the accidental governor, is doing stupid things to try to close a budget deficit and he is causing a lot of problems. He is making Democrats nervous because they are worried that he might lose the next election to some evil Republican.

The high rollers in the Democratic party have told Paterson that he has until November to get his poll numbers up or they might decide to run someone else for his position. This is the business of the Democrats and of New Yorkers so I really don’t care about it but while reading the story I came across this:

“Nobody really wants to go to a sitting Democratic governor who’s African-American and say, ‘Hey. You’re a disgrace. Get out.'” NY Daily News

Why is it that his color makes any difference? They had to say that no one wants to go to an African American and tell him he is a problem. Why is this? Is it because they do not want to be labeled racist? The left screams racism all the time. I just can get my hands around the issue of his color. Why is it any part of the equation? They would not worry about color if they had to tell a white guy he was doing a terrible job.

They could have easily said no one wants to go to a sitting governor and say “Hey, You’re a disgrace. Get out” and left the race component out of it. Does the left have to constantly put race into an issue? I know the left is full of racists but a statement like this translates to; “we can’t get rid of the black guy. He has been oppressed and if we don’t help him out he will never get anywhere. Besides, people will say we were racially motivated.”

David Paterson is incompetent. His color has nothing to do with that. He is incompetent because he cannot lead. He and Obama have that in common, neither can lead. I don’t care what color they are because incompetence is not confined to one’s skin color. It is simple, he is incompetent because he cannot lead. He espouses liberal philosophies, the philosophies that have caused many cities and states to run up huge deficits. He is in the same boat and his inability to lead makes it impossible for him to solve the problem.

Democrats in New York have to worry about color but that color is red. That is the color of the ink the state is drowning in.

Nurses Are Supposed To Pay Attention To Detail

The National Nurses Organizing Committee/California Nurses Association has begun running an ad in the swing states in an attempt to influence the election and help Barack Obama win the presidency. The ad is entitled One Heartbeat Away and it is aimed at discrediting Sarah Palin as unqualified to be the president in the event that something happens to John McCain. The ad is full of lies and half truths and perpetuates myths about Palin that have been debunked, myths like she tried to ban certain books.

These nurses who run this association have injected themselves into national politics and they have done so in a manner that makes them look careless and uninformed. It also shows their naivete with regard to the issue because no rational thinking being could have a problem with Palin being a heartbeat away but be comfortable with Obama being the heartbeat. Obama has no experience and has spent nearly all of his political life campaigning (or voting present). Additionally, these so called health care providers are telling the world that they have no problem with a candidate who would allow babies born alive after a botched abortion to be left to die. This is not what nurses do and it is not what true health care professionals should be supporting. I wonder if any of these so called care givers pull the plugs on the elderly.

Nurses are supposed to check things thoroughly before they act. Drugs are not administered until the drug is verified, doses are checked several times, the correct amount is drawn up, the order is checked and the patient to whom it is given is verified. These nurses are obviously not very skilled at checking things before they act because they are dispensing lies without a care. These are the kind of people who make medication errors that overdose children with blood thinners or kill the elderly with improper dosages of drugs. Unfortunately, they are careless and don’t worry about their actions so long as they get what they want.

I had to deal with nurses who pulled this dishonest stuff in the past. A circular came out in Maryland some years ago stating that Maryland nurses were endorsing some candidate. When I read the literature, there were three nurses who were in the political arena who endorsed the candidate. It might be true that these Maryland nurses were supporting the candidate but it is a misrepresentation of the truth for them to say Maryland nurses supported the person thus giving the impression that all do. Since I am a Maryland nurse, I knew it not to be true. I wrote them a letter and told them all what a disgrace they were to themselves and to the profession. They, like the nurses who put out this video, deliberately mislead people and none of them have any business being in a profession where trust is an important asset.

There is a shortage of nurses in the country. Many of those in the profession work hard and expect decent pay for their efforts. They expect organizations like these to be involved in issues that affect them and the work they do. I get mail all the time asking me to join one nurses group or another because “our voices are heard when they speak as one.” The problem is, I don’t want them using my voice for a message with which I do not agree. I am not a member of the Maryland Nurse’s Association because of its political activities and its support of liberal policies with which I do not agree (though I would not join if they were involved in politics with which I do agree). I have better things to do with the hundreds of dollars they want in dues.

I certainly hope that these morons pay better attention to patient care than they do to the rumors of the day.

Nurses like this make Sarah Gamp appear competent.
