This Is Why We Have An Illegal Immigrant Problem

The reason we have a problem with illegals running all over the place is that the federal government has refused to do its job. The federal government has few actual duties but one of them is to protect our nation. They are failing miserably in that duty and this failure goes back many decades and through many presidents.

We the People are sold a bill of goods each time this issue comes up. The Democrats want more people who will vote for them and the Republicans like the idea of a cheap source of labor so they both work to keep from closing the border. The problem is, they promise to close it each time they grant amnesty. They say that we will never again need to grant amnesty because the laws will be enforced and the border secured. Then they ignore it until 10 million new Democrat voting cheap labor illegals file back in and the cycle starts over.

The people are tired of it and are holding politicians accountable. The governor of Arizona signed a bill into law that will allow the state to legally investigate and check the status of any person believed to be in the state illegally. There are strict provisions in the bill requiring that the person already be in contact with law enforcement for another infraction of the law and the list of documents that prove legal status is extensive. But this has not stopped the morons on the left from yelling about racial profiling and how the law might be abused.

These morons are OK with immigration laws being abused by illegal immigrants with the help of the Mexican government (all the way up to and including the president of Mexico) but are worried that this law might be abused.

It is so bad now that the federal government has indicated that it might not process illegal immigrants that are referred from Arizona. That is right folks, the same people who are ignoring the illegal immigrant problem will ignore the state of Arizona when it refers illegals to Immigration because the feds do not like the Arizona law:

“I don’t think the Arizona law, or laws like it, are the solution,” [John] Morton told the newspaper.

The best way to reduce illegal immigration is through a comprehensive federal approach, he said, and not a patchwork of state laws. FOX News

Mr. Morton (remove the ‘t’ in his last name and it is more accurate) does not think that the Arizona law or ones like it are the solution. What he thinks is the solution has not been done by the federal government and it is not likely to be done by the federal government as long as there are votes to be had and illegals to pander to. To demonstrate further stupidity, Morton will ignore illegals referred by Arizona. How can ignoring referrals make things BETTER?

The referrals would not make things worse. They would represent people caught here illegally and who could be sent home thus making the job of the feds easier.

No Mr. Morton, the answer is not federal government inaction and waffling. What will it take before you people decide that you should do your job? What will it take until you secure the border and start dealing with the illegals?

As for Arizona, they should just keep illegals in jail until Immigration picks them up. If the feds don’t show then those people will be in jail for a long time.

Better yet, take them to LA and drop them off. Maybe Arizona could dump them all off in DC somewhere around where all the politicians live. I am sure they will not mind the illegals there and most of them probably need yard work done…

Here is a message for Obama and the rest of the federal government”

Our Presidente

Ole- our Resident and his little scuzzy socialistas want to grant amnesty to all the illegals here now, indeed, they wouldn’t mind if more came in- cheap work forces are hard to come by, especially if you have a sheriff who is arresting the potential work force. That is why, at the behest of several groups who are invested in the “legality” of these people, the federal government, in this case the Department of Homeland Security, has taken the Federal powers to arrest and detain illegal aliens from Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Arizona.

A controversial Arizona sheriff known for taking a hard line against illegal immigrants has been stripped of some of his powers in what he described as a political move by the Obama administration.

Joe Arpaio, a gruff lawman who styles himself as America’s toughest sheriff, has won acclaim from US anti-immigrant forces for his relentless pursuit of mostly Hispanic illegal immigrants in Maricopa county, Arizona, a fast-growing county of 4 million people that is home to Phoenix, the nation’s fifth largest city.

Arpaio’s aggressive tactics include the jailing of illegal immigrants in tent cities surrounded by barbed wire in the middle of Arizona’s searingly hot summers, the reduction of meal costs to 20 cents per day, the use of pink jail clothing for men, and chain gangs for women inmates.

guardian.co.uk

Good for him- the purpose of jail or prison is to punish the offender, not be a vacation destination- as far as I am concerned, if you offend, you lose some of your “rights”- like the “right” to air conditioning, TV, and other privileges that people in the outside world take for granted. The fact that Sheriff Joe can put these people in tents, dress them in pink, and feed them baloney sandwiches is and should be viewed as a part of their punishment. If the prisoners don’t like it, so much the better.

Under a two-year-old agreement with the federal department of homeland security, Arpaio and his deputies had been authorised to enforce federal immigration law by arresting suspected illegal immigrants in the field and by checking the immigration status of people arrested on other offences.

But after drawing thousands of complaints and a civil rights investigation from the justice department, Arpaio was this week stripped of his federal authority to make immigration arrests. County attorney Andrew Thomas, one of Arpaio’s supporters, condemned the “setback in the fight against illegal immigration”.

For his part Arpaio has promised to continue chasing illegal immigrants using state laws. In an angry press conference, he called US homeland security officials “liars” and said he would personally drive those caught on the streets to the border if federal officers refused to take arrested illegal immigrants into custody. “I’ll take a little trip to the border and turn them over to the border,” he said.

.guardian.co.uk

Heck, if I lived there, I’d volunteer to drive them back- that’s only fair. They do not belong here. Their first illegal act, was crossing the border. Mexico has a more stringent immigration policy than we do- how crazy is that?

“The department of homeland security is making a historic mistake if it continues its relationship with Sheriff Joe Arpaio,” said Paco Fabian, spokesman for immigration reform advocacy group America’s Voice. “The federal government is lending its full force and legitimacy to a rogue cop certain to go down in history as a serial violator of civil rights and an enemy of the Latino community.”

An estimated 12 million illegal immigrants live in the US. The federal government is virtually paralysed over how to react, with conservatives like Arpaio calling for the arrest and deportation of illegal immigrants and increased border enforcement. Obama, many Democrats and some Republicans call for a system that will allow most to gain legal status after paying a fine and learning English, but reform efforts in 2006 and 2007 withered under sustained rightwing opposition.

guardian.co.uk

Imagine that- a Hispanic against the Sheriff- I guess Paco still has family that haven’t made it over yet. Hopefully they never do- then Paco and his family could visit the old country and the rest of his family, hopefully for an extended period of time.

The plain fact is that if we eliminated all illegal employment in the agricultural fields, our produce cost would rise by about eight dollars a year. A lot of this has to do with a more mechanical approach to harvesting, and also because most of our frozen produce comes from other countries now. In a recent search of my freezer, not a one of ten bags of frozen veggies came from the US.

So what good do the illegals do? Not a thing, in the end. Well- they do make for good news copy, as they slaughter themselves in great numbers. Indeed, there are seven violent crime stories involving spanish surnames to every one of any other race or nationality, every day in the local Houston paper. That is just a fact, as sorry as it may be.

Unlike other immigrants, they are not assimilating into the American culture, indeed they are actively encouraged not to, with ESL being taught, and exceptions being made for those who don’t speak english. Why? That just enables these people to keep crippling along as second class citizens, a sub culture that does nothing positive for our society, instead, making problems for our society that we have to stop and try to fix.

This is a segment of society that if we cannot control and assimilate seamlessly into our society, we need to cast out- their adherence to smuggling drugs and people cause them to be, as a group, much more dangerous, as they will not even try to clean up the bad actors who give them a bad reputation in their society, and thus our society.

If they don’t want to be a part of our society, and indeed they have shown repeatedly by their nationalism, their Mexican flag waving, and refusal to learn any more than rudimentary english that they do not, then they must go home.

Even your best friend can overstay his or her welcome, and they have overstayed theirs.

Law Enforcement and Bad Economy Cause Illegals To Leave

The bad US economy is causing a tough environment for people who want jobs. It is particularly hard for illegals because even if they will do the jobs Americans won’t, it makes little difference if there are no jobs. Now that law enforcement has increased the number of raids and arrests many illegals are saying it is not worth being here and they are going back to Mexico.

And they say they have no intention of coming back.

After going months without a full-time job, Daniel Ramirez has decided it’s time to return to family in Mexico.

Vicenta Rodriguez Lopez says she can’t afford to live in Colorado any more because her husband was deported.

Roberto Espinoza is going back, too. After 18 years as a mechanic for a General Motors dealership in Denver, his work permit wasn’t renewed and he didn’t want to remain in the country illegally.

All are leaving Colorado in time for Christmas — joining a traditional holiday migration that will number almost 1 million people, says Mexico’s interior ministry. But they have no intention of returning to Colorado, a place that promised prosperity.

Layoffs, dwindling job opportunities, anti-immigrant sentiment and the crackdown on illegal immigrants are forcing hard choices on many Mexican nationals in Colorado. Though not an exodus, some are returning to a nation they haven’t seen in years.

“You despair. You think, ‘I used to earn $600 a week and now I’m getting half of that a week?’” said Ramirez, 38, who lost his Denver construction job in August. He left last week, driving to San Luis Potosi in central Mexico.

Mexico’s consul general in Denver, Eduardo Arnal, said more people like Ramirez are going home for good. Yahoo News

The law enforcement aspect would have eventually had the same effect especially if immigration continued to go after employers as well as the illegals. The bad economy, while tough for America, has a good side in that illegals are leaving because they cannot make money.

We have been saying all along that if the incentive to be here were removed they would not come and those here would leave. We need to keep the pressure on them and ensure that even when the economy gets better we do not give them an incentive to come here.

If enough of them leave then there will be plenty of jobs for Americans who want to work. Given that Obama wants to put everyone on the government payroll (sucking up tax dollars to give out jobs) to rebuild roads and bridges, there should be plenty of work for people so they do not have to sit around on their lazy rears drawing welfare.

Tancredo Trades Principle for Politics, Blows Immigration Stance

Tom Tancredo officially dropped out of the GOP race today and he threw his support behind Mitt Romney. Tancredo has great positions on immigration but he is a one trick pony. All he ever talked about was immigration. I am sure there are other issues he has positions on but he failed to come across as anything more than an advocate for tough immigration law enforcement. The one trick got old fast for a number of people who realize that there are many issues in addition to immigration. In dropping out Tancredo had the chance to show how principled he was with regard to his signature issue. Unfortunately, he failed miserably.

Tom Tancredo threw his support behind Mitt Romney who Tancredo met with to receive assurances that Romney would be tough on the issue of immigration. In throwing his support behind Romney Tancredo stated that he was “the best hope for our cause.” This is where I have problems and where it appears to me that he abandoned his principles and went for the politics of the issue. Romney is not as bad as Giuliani or Huckabee when it comes to immigration but he has had his issues with it. I don’t believe that Romney should be held accountable if the company he hired employed illegals. It is the responsibility of the company to do that. However, the company in question had been caught using ILLEGALS before and Romney failed to keep an eye on them or to replace them all together. It took a news report showing admitted ILLEGALS working on his property for him before he fired the company. This man is running for the presidency. He is under much higher scrutiny than the guy next door and he should have been on top of this. He says he is tough on immigration but it does not appear that way.

Fred Thompson, Duncan Hunter and Ron Paul are the only remaining GOP candidates with records that reflect tough immigration policies. If Tancredo wanted to show that he was absolutely concerned about the issue he should have selected one of these candidates to throw his support behind. Ron Paul has a very good plan with regard to immigration and while I am not in favor of many of his other policies I like his stance on immigration and our borders. Fred Thompson has an equally good plan at his site as does Duncan Hunter. Any of these guys would have been a better choice to be “the best hope for our cause.” Yet, Tancredo neglected each of these people, people who have stands and would not need to provide reassurance, in order to support Romney, a man with questionable views on Immigration. Before the Romney crowd beats me up, remember, Tancredo needed to get reassurance. That is usually not necessary if you have been clear and consistent.

It is unfortunate but Tancredo traded his principles. It gives the impression that Tancredo was not all that serious about immigration because he could not back one of the people who is actually tough on the issue. Since that was his only issue he could have at least picked someone who held the same beliefs. If Romney gets elected and he ends up signing an amnesty bill Tancredo and his efforts will go to the ash heap of history. He will be viewed as a man who backed the guy who gave the country away.

It is unfortunate that Tancredo could not get this right but at least it shows that he would not have been a good president. If he blew this easy choice this badly think about how terribly he would do with judges, justices, and just about any other appointee.

Hillary Finally Takes a Position

Hillary Clinton finally took a position on issuing driver’s licenses to ILLEGALS (she calls them undocumented) by declaring that she agrees with New York Governor Spitzer’s decision not to issue them. Hillary sort of supported his position when he was going to issue them, then said no, then say yes and left it at a maybe. Since Spitzer has finally decided the Hildabeast figured it was OK to take a stand. She also indicated that, as President, she will not issue driver’s licenses to ILLEGALS and that she will fix the immigration problem in America.

The President is not the person to fix these things. Congress is the body that is supposed to come up with bills that address these kinds of issues. After it is worked out it is sent to the President to be signed into law. The President can tell Congress how he wants things and they can work together but the biggest thing the President gets to do is sign it into law or veto it. Hillary Clinton will have little success with immigration if the Congress does not act. She had a better chance of doing something as part of the Senate and yet I can’t seem to find any bills she has authored to address the problem. The only thing she has done is criticize GOP efforts to toughen criminal laws regarding ILLEGALS and blame the Bush administration for a problem caused by Democrats long before he ever took office. In fact, Bush and Congress tried to ram amnesty down our throats and Hillary voted for that plan. She wants to give them licenses but not until she gives them amnesty. Hillary Clinton votes to help ILLEGALS.

I am sure this is not the last we have heard on this issue. If a poll comes out in a few weeks indicating that Hispanics are supporting another candidate and they cite this stance as the reason, Hillary will change faster than you can shake a stick.
