On 9 September, 2009 Representative Joe Wilson shouted “you lie” after Obama made the claim that none of the proposals (Obamacare) would pay for the health care of illegal aliens.

The reforms I’m proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally.

This prompted Wilson’s outburst and led to his apology and a rubuke from Congress (a partisan attack by Democrats).

The problem is, Wilson was right. The Department of Health and Human Services has announced the grant money that will go to to areas serving migrant workers and the immigration status of workers will not be checked.

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced on Tuesday that it has awarded $28.8 million to 67 community health centers with funds from the Obamacare health reform law.

Of that $28.8 million, “approximately $8.5 million will be used by 25 New Access Point awardees to target services to migrant and seasonal farm workers,” Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Spokeswoman Judy Andrews told CNSNews.com. HRSA is a part of HHS.

Andrews said that grant recipients will not check the immigration status of people seeking services.

Health centers do not, as a matter of routine practice, ask about or collect data on citizenship or other matters not related to the treatment needs of the patients seeking health services at the center. CNS News

This means that some of those migrant workers will be illegals and will get health care services paid for with Obamacare money. If they are not going to check (and why wouldn’t they) then they are allowing people who are here illegally to use the health care services.

In other words, as Joe Wilson put it to Mr. Obama;

Parts of the Arizona law that only enforced federal immigration laws were struck down by an activist judge who fails to understand that state laws which are identical to or do not change federal law, are perfectly legal. U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton, obviously bowing to behind the scenes pressure from the Obama regime, ruled that police officers cannot be required to check immigration status. What she has basically said is that police officers are not allowed to do their jobs.

Suppose these police officers told the federal government that they would no longer go after bank robbers because bank robbery is a federal crime and it might impact the federal laws. Would that make sense?

What Judge Bolton said today is that the rule of law does not matter and that states do not have control over their own territory. She basically told people it is OK to break federal law and then cause havoc in states and she told the states they have no right to protect themselves against federal impotence.

Governor Brewer plans to appeal the ruling but she should just put the law into place anyway and say screw the ruling. Isn’t this what Obama did with the drilling moratorium in the Gulf? He decided that he would ignore the court. Brewer should just tell her officers that they are not REQUIRED to ask immigration status but are free to do so if they wish. Then it would be a different issue and they can press on.

Immigration groups were jumping with joy at the ruling because now illegals will not be held accountable for the lawbreaking they are doing. They have been given free reign by a judge who made a moronic decision.

At least there is a sheriff in Arizona who intends to continue arresting illegals and putting them in tents.

Judge Bolton failed to rule on the merits of the law and legislated from the bench. She did not look at the merits of the law or she would have seen that it mirrors federal law. Perhaps she is unaware that states are sovereign places and have rights.

This is what happens when people who live in gated communities apart from the real world are placed in positions that require life experiences. This is also what happens when judges are worried about being removed from the bench by the White House.

Eric Holder and the Obama regime can all take a long walk off a short pier and keep walking until their hats float. And the good people of Arizona can take matters into their own hands.

Clean up your state by getting rid of the illegal trash and tell the White House to go screw itself. You folks in Arizona should start asking for papers on your own before you do business with anyone. If they do not have them then no jobs, no apartments, no sales, no cars, no nothing. Ask for proof before issuing a driver’s license.

If anyone says you can’t do that because it is against the law just tell them laws don’t apply in this case because it deals with immigration. Bolton and the feds have shown us that they have no regard for the law and that there is no need to actually follow the law.

I guess Arizona can take solace in the fact that at least these illegals did not come from Kenya…

About 3500 acres of Arizona have been declared off limits to US citizens because of ongoing violence from illegal entry into our country by drug smugglers, The area is also a path into the US for illegals who sneak in. Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu said that the violence is out of control as law enforcement officers and citizens are attacked by the invaders.

The border is the responsibility of the federal government and the feds are failing miserably in their duties.

Arizona called for 3000 national guard troops to be deployed and the regime responded with 1200. As federalized military, the soldiers will not be allowed to perform law enforcement duties and there is question as to whether they will even have weapons.

We are giving away our territory by allowing the illegal thugs to cross into our country unabated. Instead of any meaningful action Obama spends his time assuring Mexican President Calderon that the guardsmen will not cause problems for poor little Mexicans looking for a better way of life.

Why are these troops federalized? The National Guard belongs to the governors of each state until called to active duty by the president. Arizona Governor Jan Brewer should stop waiting for the federal government to do its duty and call her guardsmen to duty and give them the responsibility of securing the border. She should send soldiers to the border area where the problems exist, arm them to the teeth and give them instructions to keep the invaders out of her state. Of course Obama could call them all to active duty (as Eisenhower did in Arkansas) to keep her from using them but this would be a risky move that would show where his allegiances actually lie.

We cannot allow the criminals from Mexico to dictate where we are and are not allowed to travel in our country and this is exactly what is happening as Obama dithers.

Brewer needs to declare a state of emergency and call her heavily armed guard to duty to defend our country against the invaders. They can post notices that anyone trespassing will be shot on sight and then start taking out the invaders. It will not be long before they stop crossing because they will either decide it is too dangerous or they will all be dead.

Either way is OK with me.

And so it should be with Governor Brewer and the state of Arizona.

Hispanics are leaving Arizona in droves ahead of the new Immigration Law. There is no way to determine the exact numbers but schools are reporting that Hispanic students have stopped showing up as their parents have withdrawn them in order to move to a state where they will “feel more welcome.”

There is no way of knowing whether the people leaving are legal or illegal but it is fairly safe to say that the legal aliens are not worried about having to prove they are here legally because they can do just that. The most likely scenario is that those who are here illegally and are worried about being caught are leaving.

The linked article describes such people and it only makes sense.

The Arizona law is already working because those who are breaking the immigration law are leaving before they get caught. The purpose of any law is to control behavior and make sure people are doing what is right. Since the illegals are leaving the number of lawbreakers in Arizona is decreasing then the law is working. The law is controlling illegal behavior.

I suggest that those looking for a place where they are welcome concentrate on California. That state has many sanctuary cities that are happy to have illegals there.

If the federal government were doing its job then the illegal population would decrease dramatically just as it is in Arizona.

Five students at Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill (California) were sent home on 5 May because they had clothing with the American Flag on it. The students were asked to turn their shirts inside out or remove the clothing and when they said they would not they were told they had to leave and if they tried to attend class they would be suspended. It seems that the Mexican students at the school were upset that the boys would display the American Flag on Cinco de Mayo. The principal told them the Flags offended the Mexican students and that it would be OK to wear them on any other day.

First of all it is appropriate to display the American Flag ANY day and second of all Cinco de Mayo is not a holiday in Mexico except in a few places. The hype over it is a concoction of the American beer companies to give people another reason to celebrate.

I have a problem with the kids wearing the American Flag as clothing because this is a violation of the Flag Code and though I would prefer them to display it properly, I do not think they should have been sent home.

The Mexican students demanded an apology but the five say there is no way that will happen, nor should it.

These students were not the only victims of the anti American sentiment. A student has been suspended because he removed a Mexican Flag that was prominently displayed in his school in Texas and the school is making him pay for the flag. If he did not damage it then why would he have to pay for it? The appropriate Flag to display in an American school is the American Flag. The flag of no other country should get any prominence.

Imagine the uproar that would occur if a Confederate Flag were hung in a school on Robert E Lee’s birthday?

Several students at Vintage High School in Napa California were suspended because they burned a Mexican Flag. There is no indication that the flag was burned on school property but the charred remains of the flag were found in a school trash can. How do they know the kids did not find it and threw it away as a “green” gesture?

If these kids burned an American Flag they would be hailed as heroes for upholding their First Amendment right to burn the thing. Burn a Mexican Flag and you get suspended. This is not the first time this has happened. Several years ago a man was arrested for burning a Mexican Flag.

Do you ever see people get arrested for burning an American Flag? The left wing radicals can gather and burn American Flags (as can any other group) and they are left alone (unless a veteran or two happens to be around) but burn a Mexican Flag and you get in trouble.

When I read these news stories I had to wonder for a moment what country we were in and obviously there are a number of people who have that problem all the time so let me clear it up:

This is the United States of America and there is only one Flag that represents this country and it is the American Flag. You Mexican students who want to fly the Mexican Flag can fly it at your home and if that is not good enough you can go back to Mexico and fly it there. To the school administrators, the only flag that should be flying in a position of prominence at your school is the American Flag and if you prominently display any other you need to get a different job. If you send children home for displaying the American Flag you should be removed from your position.

Those who are opposed to a Mexican Flag being burned, I can sympathize with you because I do not like the American Flag burned but the Supreme Court in this Country has decided that doing so is protected speech. I can promise you that if it is OK to burn an American Flag then is it damn sure OK to burn any other flag.

I have a feeling that the Arizona law and the reaction to it has awakened a bunch of people who are tired of being told how to act with regard to illegal immigration and there will be a lot of action on this issue in the near future.

It might get ugly for illegals and for those who want amnesty for them.

Of course, the illegals could go home and save themselves the trouble.

And the up side to leaving is you can fly your country’s flag all you want.

There is a big uproar by the morons in this country who seem to think that it is perfectly OK to break the law and that there should be no consequences for doing so. The same people who were apoplectic during the Plame controversy in eager anticipation of some unruly Republican lawbreaker being frogmarched out of the White House are working to help. and actively support, those who are here illegally.

Al Sharpton is organizing his group of rabble rousers to stir up trouble in Arizona. Pat Buchanan makes an interesting point about that. How many blacks will follow Sharpton given that a number of jobs they could be doing are held by the illegals who Sharpton is supporting?

Now San Francisco City Attorney Dennis Herrera is calling for a boycott of Arizona. What kind of moron is this so called attorney? Here is a guy who is an officer of the court who is expected to uphold the law and he is calling for a boycott of Arizona because he does not like the law they passed. If this law is unconstitutional then the courts will sort it out. Is it appropriate for parts of this country to call for boycotts because they happen not to like a particular law in another state?

Suppose California passed a gay marriage law and the rest of the country boycotted that state. Do you suppose people like Herrera (whose name and actions show where his loyalties lie and they are not to his country) would be up in arms?

I say screw San Francisco. Boycott them. California is on the brink of insolvency and it should not take too much more to push it over the edge. Start with San Francisco and see what happens from there. If we can hurt it enough they might need to get rid of Herrera. I have an idea where they can send him.

I like what Arizona did and I will wait to evaluate, on a case by case basis, whether or not there is “racial” profiling going on (can’t happen because Hispanic is not a race). If things turn out badly then they can fix it but it is time that the states started taking an active role in this mess because the federal government has no desire to fix it. The feds want to grant amnesty to all the illegals and be done with it so we can start over again and accumulate another 12 million illegals so they too can receive amnesty in five or ten years.

Arizona decided that this was not satisfactory. I could not agree more. I think that people should have to provide the same documentation to get a home, a loan, a driver’s license, a job, and assistance that I had to in order to join the Army and in order to get the job I currently have. If it is good enough for me it is good enough for them and if they cannot show the proper documentation then they need to get on out of here.

As for me, I think I will take a week and visit Arizona sometime this summer. Maybe they will stop me and ask if I am here legally. That would be fun and I would be happy to comply. I won’t even scream that they racially profiled me.

Don’t “profile” in Arizona but play the race card in DC.

Barack Obama released a new video this weekend and it is a desperate call for votes in the November election. In it he asks young people, women, African-Americans and Latinos to come out once again and vote in November (he ignored you for a while but now he needs you). He is begging for the help that these groups gave him in 2008 because he knows his party is going to get its head handed over on a platter in November. Mr. balls to the walls Obama is working hard to cram as much legislation through because after November he will be a lame duck first termer and Viagra won’t be able to help his impotence.

In his call to arms Obama neglected to ask for help from a group of people who ensured his victory and that would be the millions of white folks who voted for him in the last election. I guess he figures those folks are not that important. Let’s face it though, he needn’t ask blacks to vote for Democrats. Those votes are a lock. The Latinos, those folks supported him and now that he is trying to give them all amnesty they will be real happy. However, the group that overwhelmingly pays the bills in this country was excluded from his request. That is the one group that gave him the election because he could not have won without it.

Not that it matters. All politics are local and the local races are what will matter. Obama will lose a lot of them in November. It will be death by a thousand cuts.

And I will love watching it play out.

Democrat Bill Owens was elected to the Congress in New York’s 23^rd District last week and he wasted no time breaking four campaign promises. Democrats rushed him in so they could obtain his vote on health care, one he said he would not give. He voted yes when the bill was passed in the dead of the night (once again a bill passed under cover of darkness). It was pointed out that just before the election he said he supported the bill (as it was written at that time) but had opposed the public option, something his constituents also oppose.

The other promises:

The House Health reform bill contains sections that cut Medicare benefits, tax existing health care benefits, and increases taxes on the middle class, yet Mr. Owens stated today that he will now vote in favor of those things contrary to what he had promised the voters of NY’s 23rd Congressional District that he would vote against. The article points out that the bill will also provide benefits for illegals, a compromise to placate the Hispanic Caucus and in direct opposition to what Obama said in his speech to the Joint session of Congress. The was the speech where Joe Wilson yelled; “You lie!”.

Turns out Wilson was right and Obama will continue to be a liar because there is no way he will veto the bill should the illegal immigrant issue survive the Senate.

Owens was not in office for more than a few days when he broke four campaign promises. Hoffman would have opposed the bill and looked out for constituents. Owens decided he wanted a short lived Congressional career by instead lying to them.

Democrats will say and do anything to get into office. Look at all the promises Obama has broken. He lied and it would appear that, as with Obama, Owens’ promises have a shelf life as well.

Sadly, the people of New York’s 23^rd voted for a pig in a poke. Will people never learn?

Because Obama will make them legal

Barack Obama gave his speech to a joint session of Congress and in that speech he said that illegals would not get health care, This prompted Joe Wilson to shout “you lie” and led to his being punished by the House. Big fricking deal.

Wilson was correct, Obama lies. Obama has continued to say that illegals will not get health care in his subsequent speeches. After the Wilson episode Democrats rushed to include language in the bill so that illegals would not get health care. If illegals were not going to get it, according to Obama, why did they need to fix the bill?

Stevie Wonder can see that under the original version illegals would get care. Even if they write it in, illegals will still get care because no one is allowed to ask for proof of citizenship before enrollment. If we can’t ask then illegals will get care.

But Obama might be technically correct if he gets his way. He wants to make illegals legal so that they can receive health care. People who are in this country illegally should not be rewarded with a legal status. We should use whatever means we have available to find the illegals and send them packing after they spend some time in the iron bar hotel. This includes proving citizenship for driver’s licenses, health care and work. We should punish any employer who hires illegals (provided the government system to check is functional) and send the illegals home.

The idea that they need to be here to pick fruits and vegetables is not valid. I need more money but I will not rob a bank to get it and if I did, that excuse would not keep me out of jail. There are millions of people on welfare who need a job and picking produce is good work. There are plenty of unemployed who could use a job. Besides, the government turns off water and kills the farming industry to protect a little fish. At this rate there might not be many farms left for our produce.

Barack Obama said he wanted to make these people legal so they could be covered under his health care plan:

“Even though I do not believe we can extend coverage to those who are here illegally, I also don’t simply believe we can simply ignore the fact that our immigration system is broken,” Mr. Obama said Wednesday evening in a speech to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute. “That’s why I strongly support making sure folks who are here legally have access to affordable, quality health insurance under this plan, just like everybody else.

Mr. Obama added, “If anything, this debate underscores the necessity of passing comprehensive immigration reform and resolving the issue of 12 million undocumented people living and working in this country once and for all.” Washington Times

Obama is telling us that this health care issue has highlighted the fact that immigration is broken and that he wants the 12 million illegals to become legal (resolving the issue does not mean sending them home in Obama speak) so that they can get health care (ensure those who are here legally have access…).

This is a back door amnesty program and is the solution to Obama’s claim that people who are illegal will not get the health care. It is nothing more than rewarding people for breaking the law. They came here illegally and do not belong here. If you want to come to America legally and work to make a better life then we welcome you with open arms. If you come here illegally you should be hunted down, sent to jail and then deported.

I am not surprised that the health care plan does not require proof of citizenship in order to be enrolled. Given Obama’s reluctance to prove his citizenship I can see why he would not want to burden others with that pesky little task.

It is unfortunate that many government jobs are given by appointment because Janet Napolitano, Director of Homeland Security, is unqualified to hold the position to which she was appointed. In the last two weeks she has done some amazingly stupid things.

About two weeks ago, and just before the TEA Parties, the DHS released its report on radical rightwing extremist groups which basically described all conservatives but threw in baseless accusations such as we are angry at a black man being elected president. The report targets returning veterans as potential extremists. This is a fine way to classify those who have the testicular fortitude to fight for this country.

Then, Napolitano made the statement that the 9/11 terrorists entered this country by crossing the Canadian border. This is absolutely incorrect. They flew into this country on documents issued by the State Department (and a few had MARYLAND driver’s licenses because Maryland gives them to everyone). Though she claims to have been misunderstood, it was quite clear what she said. She also tried to claim she was referring to a long debunked urban legend. She is full of bovine excrement.

The furor began when Napolitano was asked to clarify statements she had made about equal treatment for the Mexican and Canadian borders, despite the fact that a flood of illegal immigrants and a massive drug war are two serious issues on the southern border.

“Yes, Canada is not Mexico, it doesn’t have a drug war going on, it didn’t have 6,000 homicides that were drug-related last year,” she said.

“Nonetheless, to the extent that terrorists have come into our country or suspected or known terrorists have entered our country across a border, it’s been across the Canadian border. There are real issues there.”

When asked if she was referring to the 9-11 terrorists, Napolitano added: “Not just those but others as well.” [emphasis mine] CTV.ca

One would think the Director of the DHS might know the truth about the 9/11 terrorists. One might also think that she would know there is a big difference between the northern and southern borders. In the south, people sneak across illegally and stay here. They smuggle in drugs and they kill Americans. In the north, they come across, do business, and go home. They enter legally. Yes, some people have entered illegally via the northern border but nowhere near the scale that they do in the south.

The issue of the border brings us to ILLEGAL immigration. Napolitano is a little fuzzy when it comes to this topic as well. She seems to think that crossing the border illegally is not a crime. During an interview with CNN’s John King, Napolitano was discussing Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio and his quest to enforce the immigration laws. After she dismissed his efforts she said:

“What we have to do is target the real evil-doers in this business, the employers who consistently hire illegal labor, the human traffickers who are exploiting human misery.

“And yes, when we find illegal workers, yes, appropriate action, some of which is criminal, most of that is civil, because crossing the border is not a crime per se. It is civil. But anyway, going after those as well.” [emphasis mine]NewsMax

As the cited article points out, crossing the border is a crime punishable with a fine, jail time, or both. I am no lawyer but I believe that once an illegal is here and is caught it is a civil issue. Crossing the border is the felony. This is the dilemma. We know they committed a felony to get here but if we do not catch them actually crossing the border, it is a civil issue.

I have equated it to a man robbing a bank. If he robs the bank and gets away and a day later the cops find him spending the money, he has dye on his hands and his admits to the robbery, he is still guilty of a felony. Imagine if it were only a felony if they caught him robbing the bank but it was a civil issue if they caught him later. This is the insanity involved in our immigration laws.

Napolitano is one of the people who is supposed to protect the country but she is more interested in going after a law enforcement officer who is trying to uphold the law than the criminals who are breaking it (regardless of her “tough” rhetoric).

She thinks people who have conservative beliefs are rightwing extremists, that the 9/11 terrorists entered through Canada, and that crossing our border illegally is not a crime.

Like I said, it is unfortunate that these positions are political appointments because she has demonstrated that she is incompetent.

She should be relieved of her duties and replaced with someone who knows what he is doing.

Then again, she is what Obama wants. Someone who will be an advocate for the illegals.

Obama wants them as Democratic voters.

I have had a go around with several people who claim that Resident Obama is actually increasing Defense spending. It is true that Obama has increased the budget 4% but he took the war funding, which was not part of the Defense budget (it was funded from other sources) and placed it under Defense but the money did not go with it. This means that The DOD will have a budget cut.

As has been reported, the 4% increase in defense spending proposed by Secretary Gates is actually 4% less than what the Joint Chiefs of Staff wanted; and, if taken alongside the fact that this budget attempts to fold in spending previously funded by supplemental war budgets, the supposed 4% increase is actually a $8 billion cut in defense spending. The Army is worst hit by folding supplemental spending into the base budget, as it was receiving the most ad-hoc funding for Iraq and Afghanistan. Ace of Spades

Ace goes on to explain this for those who care to look at it. It is easy to understand but in DC math this is considered a budget increase. It definitely is NOT.

While all the grenades are being lobbed around by the bumbler in chief, he continues to throw so many things at the public that it cannot keep up. On top of the economy, the omnibus, the trillions in spending, the 90% taxes to punish people whose contracts were honored, Iranian rockets, North Korean missilesm bows to kings, ACORN and the census, shooting pollution into the sky to cool the planet and all the other distractions, Obama is now ready to make millions of ILLEGALS into citizens.

Drudge is reporting that the New York Times will have a page 1 story tomorrow on Obama’s plan:

It is time to gear up for a big fight. We cannot allow millions of lawbreakers to become citizens. They broke the law and we need to get rid of them when we find them. We cannot afford to have these blood sucking leeches be rewarded for breaking the law. You get more of what you reward and if we reward these people with citizenship then we will get more and more ILLEGALS coming here expecting the same deal. The amnesty that was provided two times before was billed as necessary to take care of the problem and it would never have to happen again. Now we are looking at millions more becoming citizens, being rewarded for breaking the law.

I read somewhere that immigrant groups (the ones that work hard to help illegals) had John McCain at some meeting looking for his help on this issue. I remember that they all left without a warm and fuzzy feeling because McCain indicated they were on their own. I believe he told them that they made their choice by picking Obama and they needed to go to him for what they wanted.

If I am not mistaken, McCain was basically telling them that he put his neck out for them during the last amnesty debate and bucked his own party which ended up costing him political capital. His message was, I was there for you and in the election you overwhelmingly supported Obama so go ask him for help, don’t come to me.

If that is true then maybe McCain finally got the message. We need to be tough on this. Pay close attention because this is all about politics. Democrats want to increase the number of votes they receive and they can do that by rewarding ILLEGALS with citizenship. Any member who votes for this needs to be voted out of office in 2010. They need to know that is what their vote will cost them.
