The Shine Is Off Hope And Change

Barack Obama was elected by the moron class (with a bit of help from election fraud) and he promised that he would transform America. He told us that his campaign was about Hope and Change. He bragged about how the oceans would recede and how things would be better.

There are many folks who still believe all of this bunk but many of those who were initially fooled have awakened. Perhaps it is the fact they are still struggling or are still unemployed. Maybe they have been able to see past the smoke and mirrors and understand that things are as bad as or worse than when Hope and Change took office.

Maryland is a 2:1 Democrat to Republican state and it has been run by Democrats for a very long time. One Republican governor (a moderate to say the least) served about 12 years ago but he was steamrolled by the Democrat controlled legislature. One would think that any Democrat running in Maryland would have an easy time of it.

Evidently Anthony Brown, the current Lieutenant Governor (and candidate for governor), thinks things will be a bit tough on Election Day. He was supposed to run away in the race but Larry Hogan is giving him a tough challenge.

So much so that Brown brought in the toxic Barack Obama to campaign for him. Brown must feel confident that Obama will help rather than harm him otherwise Obama would not have been invited. If Brown thought he had a commanding lead would he really risk any potential backlash from an Obama appearance?

Obama was in Maryland yesterday and it looks like things did not go as planned. During his speech a number of people got up and left.

Yes, it appears as if some of the faithful have awakened and now realize that Obama is a failure.

Then again, the Ravens were in town so perhaps folks had better things to do, like watch something successful like the Ravens Team.

Tony Brown should be sent packing. He is an oath breaker and a disgrace to the office he holds and the military uniform he wears (he is a reservist who is very misleading about his service).

Send him packing…

Tony spelled backwards is Y Not. Why Not send him to the unemployment line in November and help Maryland get on the path to real prosperity.

As an aside, doesn’t Obama look sickly?

Cave canem!
Never surrender, never submit.

Things Are Changing Rapidly In The World Of Hope

It looks like the Obama brand of hope and change is not resonating very well with a majority of the population and he is being dealt one setback after another. The hope and change express started to derail when the conductor, one B H Obama, rammed through a stimulus package that did not stimulate and coupled it with an omnibus bill, both of which were laden with earmarks. The price tag gave many Americans sub-sternal discomfort and they began to realize that Obama and his Democrats were out of control. Cap and trade gave more Americans pause and this was just the beginning.

Then came time for the signature legislation, the promise to end all promises, and that was the reform of our health care system. We are not talking about tweaks to fix our system, no we are talking about a complete overhaul that will remake the entire system of health care and it is being done to cover the 8% or so of the population that does not have health insurance.

Well, they say it is about covering the uninsured but if this were really the goal then the members of Congress, including then Senator Obama, would have voted for the bills that were introduced to repair the system. Instead, they voted against fixing it because they knew that someday they would be in a position to take complete control and they could not vote for anything that might give praise to Republicans, no matter how harmful their votes were. The goal is for them to take control of health care so they can control our lives. They want to control our lives and the easiest way is for them to control our health care. They already hold the elderly hostage with Social Security and Medicare and they want this same power over the rest of us.

Obama has met resistance though because people are not willing to cede that much power to government. People are waking up and rejecting the idea of government controlling their health care and the decisions stemming from it.

Obama has dropped the idea of a public option but we still need to be vigilant because any plan they pass now will be added to in the future and they will use the foot they get in the door now to force other options on us in the future.

As for the change that Obama promised, it appears as if the political landscape is changing. All 50 states have more people who identify as conservative and Tim Pawlenty says that Obama is pushing people to the Republican party.

Obama has shut down his Gestapo email snitching address after it received much deserved attention about the impropriety of the White House collecting the names of people opposed to its plans by encouraging supporters to report their neighbors. We need to remain vigilant here as well because the story indicates that they still want tips but there is a new place to send them.

All of these setbacks might not be cause for celebration because there are still those who are so thrilled with Obama that they have their noses stuck in his undershorts, and on a national level he remains popular. However, the arrogance of those in Congress might well take away the majority Obama enjoys at the present time. A New York Congressman says he will vote against the wishes of his constituents. Democrat Eric Massa said he will vote for single payer health care even if the majority of his constituents do not want it. He is in a conservative district and somehow got elected (like Frank Kratovil). He basically told his constituents that he knows what they want and need and he knows it better than they do.

Anyone want to bet on whether this guy will be in office after the 2010 election? This is the problem with politicians, they think they know what is best for us and that they can decide how we should do things. They work for us and they represent us so they need to ensure that the way they vote is actually representative. In 2010 Republicans will take a large number of seats. This is not all great because they have shown the inability to lead in the past. When they were in power they acted like Democrats and lost control. They need to be committed to smaller government and less spending or they will do us no good.

However, guys like Kratovil and Massa will be one termers and a lot of others will lose their jobs as well. The number of Senators who could lose is also staggering. I really want to see some of these jackasses go down (and that includes people from both parties).

The hope and change express has been derailed because a lot of people are sobering up and realizing that they went on a terrible bender that cost this country dearly.

They now realize that if Obama is the answer it must have been a stupid question in the first place.

Obama Pushes People To The Right

Obama enjoys amazing popularity and despite all the wrong turns he enjoys a high approval rating. He is a personable man and can be quite engaging particularly for the mind numbed people who listen to the words but don’t understand what they mean. In other words, typical Obama followers.

Though I might add that some people give him high marks even as they are beginning to worry more about him each day. The NYT released an article about his radical Columbia days and the White House press corps has begun to zap him with stinging questions while Press Secretary Gibbs is beaten to death on a daily basis. The natives are getting restless.

Yes, they are restless because Obama promised them change and everything he has done has not lived up to the promises he and VP Biden made. It now seems that they are admitting, on a weekly basis, that they were wrong about one thing or another. Obama likes to say things over and over so that they become believed but now it looks like fewer folks are relating to his philosophy even as they give him high approval ratings. My friend Don Surber reports on a recent Gallup Poll and more people are moving to the right since the election.

Gallup: 39% say they have grown more conservative since Election Day.

Another 18% say they are more liberal.

But wait. There’s more.

Among independents, 37% said they are more conservative now that President Obama is actually president, while 19% say more liberal.

Among Democrats, 34% say they are growing more conservative under President Obama, while 23% say they are more liberal.

Among other findings, 52% now say the government has too much power, versus 42% just 5 years ago.

It would appear as if people are seeing through the magic of Hope and Change and realizing the radical path Obama has set for the country and they do not like it. More than half say the government has too much power (and Obama is reaching for more with health care and cap and trade) and 34% of Democrats claim to be more conservative since Obama took office.

These are amazing numbers and if this trend continues 2010 will be a good year for Republicans, provided we can field good, conservative candidates. If this keeps up we might be able to gain some seats in the House (regaining it would be tough) and we might have a shot at the Senate. I would like to get back enough seats to keep the filibuster but I also want to see John McCain and and a few other RINOs sent packing. We need new young talent (and I am not opposed to new young Democrats so long as they come with new ideas) so that we can get rid of the establishment politicians.

Obama might be helping with that and if he keeps it up he will do for us what Jimmy Carter did. Carter gave us Reagan. If we can field a true conservative Obama will be a one term wonder and give us a great replacement.

The trends are going our way but it is still early. Looks good for Fox though. Their viewership is up 33% since the election. People are wising up and looking for fair and balanced, not moronic one sided rants by the likes of Olberman.

Reality is setting in and though Obama still has the luster and there are people who just want to give him a little longer (give him a chance) he is pushing people to the right. He is out of his league and it shows.

Or as Surber puts it:

“Last year, he was change and hope. This year, he is reality.”
