Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/enforcers-at-the-irs-harass-10-an-hour-worker/.

A hair stylist in Seattle who makes fewer than $20,000 a year was recently investigated by the IRS because the government organization claims that she does not make enough money to live where she does. According to the IRS, Rachel Porcaro, cannot possibly be living on her low wages and they have determined that she is not making enough to provide for her children so she is losing her earned income credit.

I am no fan of the EIC but it is legal and if she is entitled to it, she should get it. But the IRS is convinced that she makes too little and they believe she must have unclaimed income.

Porcaro lives with her parents and does not live a lavish lifestyle. The IRS spent tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars in order to get a little more than a thousand dollars from Porcaro. That is efficiency at its finest. To top it off, Porcaro and her family are out thousands of dollars because they racked up bills defending against the harassment.

Why is it that a guy like Tim Geithner can deliberately not pay his taxes and he does not get fined or put in jail but a $10 an hour worker is harassed by the IRS? The same is true for Charlie Rangel who is a tax cheat. Why does not the IRS spend more time going after real tax cheats (just look at the Obama administration or Congress for that matter) and leave hard working people alone.

Obviously if this woman or any other taxpayer is breaking the law then the IRS has a duty to check it out but people in this income pay NO taxes. Why harass them when there are people skirting the tax laws everyday?

We need to abolish the IRS and simplify the tax code so that everyone pays a piece of the bill and we need to eliminate things like the EIC that allows people who pay NO taxes to get money back. This is backdoor welfare.

But until we do just that, this woman and many more like her are living on what they make and filing taxes in accordance with the law.

H&R Block did her taxes so it is not like she cheated them. Besides, she pays no taxes so how could she cheat anyone?

As for her kids, neither she nor her parents can claim any EIC. She cannot claim her kids because the IRS says she can’t possibly be taking care of them.

And yet she is.

Government idiocy at its best.

Hey IRS, go pick on the tax cheats in government and leave the hard working folks who try to obey the laws alone.

To be fair, the party not in power usually raises hell when the majority party asks for the ceiling to be raised. Both parties are guilty of spending more rather than spending less and this causes havoc with our budget process. The Obama administration is adding to the debt at record levels (the previous record was set last year by Bush and the Democratically controlled Congress) and there appears to be no end in sight. On top of the stimulus that did not stimulate, Obama and the Democrats are pushing for a health care overhaul that will tremendously increase the US debt burden. Obama has been in office for 7 months and already his Treasury Secretary is asking that the debt ceiling be raised:

U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner asked Congress to increase the $12.1 trillion debt limit on Friday, saying it is “critically important” that they act in the next two months. WSJ

The federal deficit grew by $181 billion in July and will likely continue to grow. Tax revenues are way down because of the bad economy and the Obama Administration has spent a fortune on a stimulus package that added to the burden and produced no positive results. The cap and trade legislation will further burden taxpayers, including those in the middle class (particularly those in the middle class) and the health care overhaul will likely be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.

Congress will likely approve the increase in the debt limit and the vote will probably be party line (or close to it) as it usually is.

The funny thing is that the very same Democrats who balked when Bush wanted to increase the limit and claimed he had no plan to reduce the deficit are the ones asking for an increase when they have no plan to reduce the deficit. By all accounts the Democrats will only continue to add to the problem.

Democrats blamed Bush’s tax cuts on the problem. When taxes are cut the revenue to the treasury increases but that is often ignored for the sake of political grandstanding. Obama has not cut taxes and the deficit is still rising out of control. That is what happens when they spend more money than we have.

Our government needs to go line by line, program by program and make meaningful cuts just like Obama promised to do. Until the out of control spending is reigned in there will be more and more debt and future requests to raise the ceiling.

That is no way to do business.

Copyright © 2012 Blake. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/gm-contract-law-is-now-a-handi-wipe/.

Yea, I know, another interminable piece on the Auto Industry, but this has wider implications than just your ride to work, or even what you drive. The bedrock of our legal system, at least when it comes to doing business in this country, as well as many other countries, is Contract Law.

A contract is an exchange of promises between two or more parties to do, or refrain from doing, an act, which resulting contract is enforceable in a court of law. It is a binding legal agreement. [1] That is to say, a contract is an exchange of promises for the breach of which the law will provide a remedy.

Agreement is said to be reached when an offer capable of immediate acceptance is met with a “mirror image” acceptance (ie, an unqualified acceptance). The parties must have the necessary capacity to contract and the contract must not be either trifling, indeterminate, impossible or illegal. Contract law is based on the principle expressed in the Latin phrasepacta sunt servanda (usually translated “pacts must be kept”, but more literally “agreements are to be kept”).[2] Breach of contract is recognized by the law and remedies can be provided.

Technically, any oral agreement between two parties can constitute a binding legal contract. The practical limitation to this, however, is that only parties to a written agreement have material evidence (the written contract itself) to prove the actual terms uttered at the time the agreement was struck. In daily life, most contracts can be and are made orally, such as purchasing a book or a sandwich. Sometimes written contracts are required by either the parties, or by statutory law within various jurisdiction for certain types of agreement. For example when buying a house[3] or land.

en.wikipedia.org

In plain language, the written contract trumps all else- unless kyou are the United States government intent on rewarding friends of those in power. In that case, contract law becomes null and void- or what ever the king says it is.

In this case, the King and his diminutive jester, little Timmy Geithner, have declared that the unions, who supported the Chicago gangster in his bid to steal our country, have to be repaid, and now they have received not one, but two shiny car companies to play with, while the people who invested in GM and Chrysler have to stand in the back of the line, hat in hand.

I know that Barama and his party love class warfare- without it they wouldn’t have been elected- however, the facts are that these “big, greedy, Bond- holders” that the liberals love to demonize are holders of the same bonds that school teachers, pipefitters, and other, more mainstream workers have in their portfolios for their retirements, and now they are darn near worthless, all because Barama put the unions at the head of the line.

And it’s not just that, although the breaking of contracts is as serious as a heart attack, legally- all of this could have been done six months ago, without all of our money going into a pit of no return- the sheer idiocy is shocking.

GM’s bondholders had a 5 p.m. Saturday deadline to accept an offer to swap their $27 billion in debt for at least a 10 percent stake in a new GM. If the Treasury doesn’t get the support it wants, bondholders could wind up with far less in bankruptcy court.

The Treasury Department had no immediate comment on the deadline passing, and GM spokesman Tom Wilkinson said the automaker did not plan to make any statements Saturday.

GM took a huge restructuring step Friday when the United Auto Workers union agreed to a cost-cutting deal, and early Saturday, Germany’s finance minister said a plan was approved for Canadian auto parts maker Magna International Inc. to move ahead with a rescue of GM’s Opel unit.

But there was still much to do to beat the government’s Monday deadline to qualify for more aid. The company already has received about $20 billion in government loans and could get $30 billion more to make it through what is expected to be a 60- to 90-day reorganization in bankruptcy court.

But there was still much to do to beat the government’s Monday deadline to qualify for more aid. The company already has received about $20 billion in government loans and could get $30 billion more to make it through what is expected to be a 60- to 90-day reorganization in bankruptcy court.

Houston Chronicle, Sunday May 31, 2009

Over 50 billion dollars, and that is just GM that they are talking about. If we had had the bankruptcy in November, we could have saved this money, and the unions would have gotten what they deserved under the law- far less in the immediate future, but a possible future, at least. This way, they have a shiny toy they have no idea how to operate efficiently, nor will they have the time to learn on the go, because I am certainly reluctant to buy something that would be designed by the government, and bossed by the unions.

Unions are good at putting nuts on bolts (and even then they have robots to show them how and help. What unions are not good at is management- they are vastly unsuited to the task, as unions and management have been natural adversaries for as long as there have been unions. Oh what will they do when someone has that inevitable grievance- who will they demonize? The we did it to ourself scenario doesn’t play well with liberals who like to always deflect responsibility and blame- but with the unions in charge the buck’s gotta stop somewhere. Perhaps they’ll play a version of spin the bottle to see who to blame.

Meanwhile, the poor bondholders have to do as the government tells them to do- they have no options, unless they want to run into a buzz saw of governmental red tape that would make their life hell for the next five years or so. Wow, what a deal- this is certainly a day to remember, when your own government screws you out of the money you are legally obligated to by law, but are denied because of crass, lowly, political favoritism dished out by a group of mafia wannabes in governmental guise.

They’ll make you an offer you can’t refuse.

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/obama-the-watchdog/.

If there is one thing we can be thankful for, it is that Barack Obama is a watchdog. He is on duty like a faithful sentry ensuring that we, the little people, are guarded. Obama is such a watchdog that he walks in several circles before he lies down.

There’s no need to fear, Obama the watchdog is here and he will find the lying, stinking, tax cheats who are defrauding the government out of its money. Today the watchdog announced that he would be going after the tax cheats:

President Barack Obama vowed to “detect and pursue” American tax evaders Monday as he announced a plan to close tax loopholes and clamp down on overseas shelters. Breitbart

I will have to give him a passing grade on this so far. Since he has been in office he has pursued a number of Democrats to serve in his administration and he has detected that many of them failed to pay their income taxes. These unpatriotic ingrates failed to pay their taxes and the watchdog Obama discovered them and ensured they paid up.

OK, many did not pay interest and penalties and none of them were frog marched to jail for deliberately avoiding taxes but at least they were detected by watchdog. The problem seems to be that after watchdog Obama finds them and forces them to pay their taxes he then rewards them with high paying jobs. In fact, the Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner is a major tax cheat who defrauded the government until watchdog found him.

Watchdog needs to head on over to Congress and sniff around to find out what is happening with the tax cheats there. Charlie Rangel, the pimp from New York, is responsible for writing tax laws and he must have thought he was exempt because he did not pay his taxes either. So far he has been able to escape sanctions.

Does anyone want to bet that watchdog will not be so easy on the regular folks who failed to pay taxes?

Then again, maybe this is how Obama plans on creating jobs. He is hiring 800 IRS Gestapo to go after tax cheats. Once he finds them he can force them to pay their taxes and then give them a job.

What a guy this watchdog is.

Watchdog will also go after companies that supposedly benefit from moving their businesses overseas. They already pay taxes to the US on their US profits and taxes to the foreign country on their foreign profits and then they pay taxes on the foreign profits when they move the money to the US so I don’t really know how watchdog is going to get any more out of them, but he says he will.

I predict that more companies will move their businesses out of the US.

I also predict Joe Six Pack will get hammered with interest and penalties for not paying his taxes.

Watchdog is spending like a drunken sailor and he needs all the money he can get and he will screw people to get it (unless they are Democrats and he wants them to work in his administration).

Fortunately, the Klingon ensures he gets walked or he would not be house broken.

We don’t need any more stains in the White House. Clinton left enough for the both of them.

Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/irs-agent-not-too-bright/.

A 43-year-old IRS agent named Jim H. Liu from California has admitted that he filed a false tax return by claiming a loss on the sale of property on which he actually made a profit. This guy actually admitted that he did this deliberately after two months of expert instruction explaining how to avoid taxes. Nominee after nominee for the Obama administration has stepped up to explain that taxes were not paid and that the slight was merely an oversight. Tim Geithner deliberately failed to pay his taxes and he is now in charge of collecting them. He is even threatening those who have failed to pay their taxes. Now this is the way it is done.

Obama’s newest nominee for Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebelius, has admitted that she made a mistake on her taxes and she paid around $7000 plus interest to clear the matter up. She follows Tom Daschle who failed to pay his taxes.

Liu faces three years in prison (though there is no indication he will get that) for cheating on his taxes.

If he had been a nominee for the Obama administration he would have gotten the job, kiss, kiss, all forgotten.

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/ironies-and-gall-surround-obama/.

It is interesting to watch the MEssiah as he goes about his business because he is a complete contradiction to what he presented during the campaign. I believe that if he had discussed all this spending and had actually said what he was going to do he would never have won. The guy is hailed as a gifted speaker but as soon as he is away from a teleprompter he stutters and stammers and sounds like the years of drug abuse affected the speech center of his brain.

I think it is like watching a folly and it would be rather amusing if it were not so potentially fatal. His policies and his aggressive, steamrolling tactics are sending us down the path to hell.

Look at the irony of Obama and his cronies coming after those who don’t pay their taxes. Bloomberg and the Wall Street Journal report that Obama is putting together a panel to overhaul the tax system so that they can get the 300 billion dollars that is not paid as it should be. Does it strike anyone as ironic that this statement is made?

“There are hundreds of billions of dollars in uncollected taxes each year,” Orszag said in a conference call. The Volcker board “will be examining ways of being even more aggressive on reducing the tax gap.” [Bloomberg]

The irony is that Tim Geithner was not the one who made the statement, Orszag was. Is it because Geithner was one of the tax cheats the overhaul is looking to detect? How ironic is it that Obama wants to go after tax cheats when the guy he picked to run Treasury is a tax cheat? How ironic is it that Charlie Rangel is a major tax cheat and is not being aggressively investigated? Obama wants new rules to crack down on YOU while the Democrats are full of tax cheats. How many of this guy’s picks had to bow out because of some tax problem?

It is amazing. It is like having a doctor who smokes tell you to give up cigarettes because they are bad for you or your pastor telling you to be faithful to your swife while he is having an affair. It is just wrong, it is hypocritical, and it is unmitigated gall.

I believe everyone should pay their fair share of taxes but I think members of government should be beyond reproach and this bunch is anything but.

Look at Obama’s press conference last night. I told you this guy would continue to blame Bush for as long as he could. It is interesting that he continues to blame Bush for the bad stuff but takes credit for the good stuff. If something good happens in Iraq we never hear Obama say that George Bush is responsible.

No, instead Obama will go on national TV and LIE. He said he inherited a 1.3 trillion dollar deficit. That is an absolute lie. Forgetting for a moment that Congress controls the purse strings, let’s look at the deficit numbers. At Gateway Pundit there is a chart that shows the deficit under Bush was slightly over 400 billion dollars at its highest point. The projected deficits for Obama are over a trillion dollars for the first two years and never drop below about 600 billion. The projection out to 2019 is just as bleak.

The numbers are only public debt and don’t include government to government debt or the numbers for everyone are enormous. Obama was lying when he said what he did or he was using a different set of numbers in order to make his case. The information comes from the Heritage Foundation and they report that Obama has quadrupled the debt with his stimulus package.

Obama also defended his reduction of the charitable contribution tax deductions for wealthier Americans saying that it would not lead to less money being donated basing this on some kind of evidence. I don’t really know what plant he hails from but on Earth the opposite has been demonstrated. As pointed out at Just One Minute (from a 2005 analysis):

The authors compile and contrast the results of a vast number of studies looking at the interplay of tax rates and charitable giving. Although people have many motivations for their philanthropy the conclusion of almost all of these studies points in the same direction – on net people give less when it costs them more.

Maybe on Krypton that is not a problem but on Earth people, even those who are very charitable, don’t give as much if it will cost them more. The Obama plan is a disincentive to give but then again, why would a liberal understand charity? It isn’t like they actually give much…

Finally, the lynch mob has taken its toll on one AIG executive. The New York Times published the letter of resignation of Jake DeSantis. Be sure to read his entire letter. The guy worked for a $1 a year based on the bonus that AIG was legally obligated to pay. Now Congress wants to take 90% of it as a punishment for a guy who had nothing to do with the problems and who stayed on to help.

I see more of these coming. In the end AIG will fail and we will be on the hook for billions of dollars. If we had let them fail in September we could have saved that money.

Coach K of Duke said Obama should be spending his time on more important things like the economy but that might be because Obama did not pick Duke.

Looks like Obama did not do so well selecting only 11 of 16 teams (69%) correctly in the first round. This is how a guy who claims to be a basketball junkie did so is it any wonder he is doing worse when it comes to running the country? I mean, he does not know anything about that.

Perhaps, and this is just a random thought, Obama should use one of those bracket diagrams and start penciling in names to fill his administration. At the rate he is going he will be running for reelection and still looking for people to work with him.

It might be especially helpful if he gave one of those bracket things to Timothy Geithner. The smartest man in the room is currently the ONLY man in the room and there is a lot of work yet to be done.

Congress has trillions more to spend and they need a Treasury Secretary, not the Maytag repair man.

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/bailout-companies-pull-a-geithner/.

At least thirteen firms receiving bailout money from the US taxpayer have not paid their taxes following the stellar example set by Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner.

At least 13 firms receiving billions of dollars in bailout money owe a total of more than $220 million in unpaid federal taxes, a key lawmaker said Thursday.

Rep. John Lewis, chairman of a House subcommittee overseeing the federal bailout, said two firms owe more than $100 million apiece.

“This is shameful. It is a disgrace,” said Lewis, D-Ga. “We are going to get to the bottom of what is going on here.”

The House Ways and Means subcommittee on oversight discovered the delinquent taxes in a review of tax records from 23 of the firms receiving the most money, Lewis said as he opened a hearing on the issue.

“If we looked at all 470 recipients, how much would they owe?” Lewis asked. AP

These companies were required to sign paperwork indicating they had no unpaid taxes but their tax records were never requested by the government. Now we are learning that they owe hundreds of millions of dollars in taxes.

I have no sympathy for those who fail to pay their taxes and neither does the government, unless of course the entity not paying them is a Democrat or “the smartest person in the room.”

I am perturbed however, that the Congress gins up anger over this issue when the target is a company in the US. I certainly believe the anger is warranted but where was all the anger when Tim Geithner was being confirmed. This guy deliberately did not pay his taxes and only ponied up the money (no interest or penalties) when he was selected to serve in the Obama administration.

Where is the indignation from the ethics committee investigating Charlie Rangel’s failure to pay taxes? Where was the indignation over Daschle not paying his taxes?

It seems to me that the government is selective in its anger over those who fail to pay taxes. There should be one standard for everyone. If these companies have not paid their taxes then they need to be held accountable and the taxes should be collected.

The same is also true for any entity that did not pay taxes. All these Democrats are running around pointing fingers but they don’t seem to be too interested in looking in a mirror.

How ironic is it that the government agency that Geithner is in charge of will be going after these unpaid taxes?

The bad thing is these companies will probably pay their taxes with the bailout money. They will use our taxes to pay theirs.

This is what happens when the government gets involved in private business.

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/the-two-minute-drill/.

A quick look around.

Obama can’t get over British Treatment of grandfather

When Kenya was under British rule the Brits evidently treated Obama’s granddaddy rather rudely. To return the favor Obama has treated the British PM the same way. Obama snubbed PM Brown by cancelling a press conference and then by having a half-hearted meeting. Brown gave The Evil Won some very nice, thoughtful gifts. Obama gave the PM a gift box of DVDs. They were American movie classics. As if Brown could not get them from about any source.

The Klingon First Lady saw her two daughters get nice clothing from the PM’s wife. She gave the Brown’s boys helicopter models of Marine One. Is there any doubt that the Obama’s hit the White House gift shop for these gifts?

It is one thing to hold a grudge. It is quite another to treat an ally badly while representing the country. I hope the Brits realize that the Obama’s attitudes do not reflect the attitudes of the entire nation.

Couple faces life in prison for tax evasion and police standoff

The Browns (not the visiting Brits) refused to pay taxes stating that they were unconstitutional. They then had a long standoff with police because they refused to surrender. They are now in jail and face life in prison:

The Browns virtually face life sentences if they are convicted of all of the charges against them. Ed Brown, 66, and Elaine Brown, 68, are serving 63-month sentences for tax-related crimes. One of the new charges – of possessing destructive devices – carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 30 years in prison, on top of any penalties from the other charges. Concord Monitor

Meanwhile, Timothy Geithner heads the US Treasury even though he deliberately did not pay his taxes. Charlie Rangel and Tom Daschle are also not in jail though they, like others who Obama wanted to serve him, did not pay their taxes. What a country.

More on small businesses

There are many who think that the tax increases on those who make over $250,000 will not affect small businesses to any large degree. Time will tell but the Gateway Pundit has some interesting information on the issue.

Most people who have no problems with increasing taxes on the evil rich are those who think others should pay their way or the way of others. These are the folks who think it is OK for those of us who pay our mortgages on time to also pay for the homes of people who could never afford what they bought. There is something wrong with the psyche of a person who thinks it is OK to take the money that one person has earned and give it to others.

There are 5 computers in my house. Should I be forced to give a few of them to people who have no computers? We have two cars and there are people who have none. Maybe we should have to give them one of ours.

Where does it stop? How is it fair? Why should one part of society be compelled to provide for another part?

Why did we let liberals create a dependent class of people?

Will California Judges legislate from the bench, again?

Californians passed a law a few years back banning same sex marriage. The court struck it down because, they claim, it went against California’s Constitution. So, the voters went to the polls to vote on Proposition 8 which amended the Constitution to define marriage as between one man and one woman.

Now there is another lawsuit and the court will decide if the change to the Constitution was legal, at least according to their rules. The state and its voters did it correctly but the outcome was not what a special aggrieved unit of victims wanted so off to court it goes.

Regardless of how one falls on this issue, the people of California expressed their will and they did it within the framework of their laws.

No court should undo that. Just because we don’t like the outcome does not mean it was illegal. Yahoo News

Joe the Plumber sues Ohio

Joe the Plumber is suing three Ohio officials for invasion of privacy after they went through his records illegally. Joe caught Obama exposing his radical Socialist agenda and that set off a firestorm of invasion of privacy and cover up.

The media went after Joe instead of the law breakers when this happened. If it had been some liberal who was wiretapped talking to Osama bin Laden the ACLU and every other victim enabling group would be having conniptions over the privacy issue.

Not so much with Joe. He exposed the Emperor as having no clothes.

The media also went after Joe because he owed back taxes. They treated him more harshly than all the tax cheats Obama has on the government dole.

I hope he gets a gazillion dollars.

Joe, if you do make sure you pay your taxes. Otherwise you might be selected to be in the Obama administration. AP

That is all for now. Feel free to comment or trackback.

The Obama administration suffered a few setbacks in the past few days. These would be setbacks not including the dropping stock market that has lost about 3000 points or so since Obama was sworn in and over 6500 points (half of its value) since the Democrats took control of Congress in January 2007. The collapse happened after Democrats were in control. Make no mistake, everything that has happened since 1/20/2009 belongs to Barack Obama.

It is interesting that Obama is hell bent on destroying this country all in the name of making it a bastion of Socialism. He is attempting to tax the “wealthy” in order to redistribute the money to those who are not wealthy. It is exactly what he told Joe the Plumber he would do.

Obama hit a snag on taxes because Republicans oppose his tax increases and Democrats are not happy with the removal of some itemized deductions. They worry (rightly so) that it will lead to fewer donations to charities. They are correct, it will. Obama is also attempting to do things that will cost everyone more money in taxes. He wants to impose these environmental rules such as cap and trade which will drastically increase the cost of many industries. Those costs will be passed on to the consumer who will be paying a back door tax increase. The Obamabots including Geithner are still making the claim that there will be tax cuts for 95% of familes. 40% don’t pay any to begin with.

I want the Timmy Geithner tax plan. I don’t want to pay any taxes and I don’t want to be bothered by anyone telling me to pay them until Barack Obama selects me to be in his administration. Geithner is in charge of ensuring people don’t cheat on their taxes. That is like making Bill Clinton the chaperon in a girl’s dorm or Ted Kennedy the designated driver.
No Voting Rights for DC

The Democrats have been trying to get voting rights for DC. Yes, the people who live there have the right to vote but they have no representation in Congress or should I say they have no representation that can vote. The people of DC have been complaining about this for a long time and it looked like the vote on it might happen. It would have been overturned because it would be unconstitutional but that has never stopped the Democrats in the past. DC is not a state and only states have representatives.

This bill was pulled. Why would they do that? Was it because they realized it was in violation of our Constitution? No way. They pulled it because Blue Dog Democrats said they could not vote for the bill because it contained a back door gun control law. I told you the liberals were trying to impose gun control and they are slipping it into everything. The Blue Dogs were worried that the NRA would use the vote to give them all failing grades and they would lose their reelection bids in their fairly conservative districts. So much for principle. I would have respected them if they opposed it because, say, it was unconstitutional.

Here is how to solve the problem. Introduce an amendment and see if it can be ratified. It would take forever and I doubt it would pass but that is the appropriate way to handle this kind of issue. They could also make it illegal for DC to have residents. All folks would have to move to Virginia or Maryland or anywhere for that matter. That way they would not be taxed without representation.

That would be a bit harsh but we could do it without moving too many folks. Why don’t we follow the Constitution and make DC 10 square miles (Article I Section 8). The excess land can be moved back to the states that provided it and the tax base would belong to the states.

Who am I kidding? Why would Maryland or Virginia want to take on that kind of mess.

Regardless, DC is not getting a vote in Congress. Good. If they want the representation then they need to do it the right way and let the people decide via the amendment process. [Human Events]

The Russians have the same definition of bipartisan as the Democrats

Barry Obama said he believed in discussing things. He vowed to talk to leaders of hostile nations without precondition. He is a man who believes in diplomacy. Unfortunately, his idea of diplomacy is to bend over and grab his ankles. The US was to put a defensive missile shield in Poland. Russia opposed that and threatened to put offensive weapons in the region.

The Evil Won said he wanted to look into it. Poland did not want the missile defense to go away and Russia did not want it in the area.

Obama sent a letter to the Russian leader saying he was willing to put a stop to the missile defense if Russia would help the US with regard to Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Russia’s leader said that Obama’s willingness to nix the missile shield amounted to positive signals but that there would be no haggling. In other words, he said that the solution is we don’t put up the missile shield and Russia continues working with Iran to develop its nuclear capabilities.

The Russians are like Democrats. Bipartisan is when you do things the way they want. Obama just got slapped like punk kid. If I were he the missiles would be heading to Poland tonight. Obama will just end up giving in.

Did anyone tell Obama that the Russians have been helping Iran? [Deutsche Welle]

Not a real good past few days. The Dow continues to drop faster than Bill Clinton’s trousers and it would appear as if the government is going to need even more money to stimulate because the first batch spent is not doing very much (surprise) and people are really fed up. The Evil One’s approval ratings are dropping and he is meeting resistance within his own party.

He will be smoking unfiltered Camels by next week.
