Donald Trump Should Not Run For The Presidency

I was hoping to be invited to play golf at one of Trump’s resorts, but I think this will put an end to that.

I was, and to some extent, still am a Trump supporter. I think his first term in office was effective and good for America. We had record employment, low inflation and a stock market that was humming right along. Despite 4 years of constant torture by the left (and some on the right) Trump managed to stay effective. I know in my heart he won the election in 2020 and that it was stolen from him in a grand act of treason by the left and some on the right. The swamp needed him out. Trump, unlike Biden, could not be manipulated by the people who really call the shots.

But there were then and are now things about Trump that drive me nuts. His ego and his mouth constantly get in the way. He is like the child who will do or say anything to be noticed by others. Look, here I am see me!!! He is a counterpuncher and I like that. I like that he will fight back but he does not know when to keep his mouth shut. His biggest issue in that regard is that he must always be the center of attention. He must be the one all others look to. No matter what, his actions are designed to keep him in the spotlight.

That might seem great to some, but it is detrimental to the team. Two things from the past week lay that out quite clearly.

At an event Trump called the Florida Governor Ron Desanctimonious. Trump likes to give people little nicknames. Most are degrading (though accurate like Crooked Hillary) but DeSantis is an ally. He is the younger wing of the party that is every much a counter puncher as Trump but without the mouth, the ego and the baggage.

Trying to be cute and call DeSantis a name in an effort to diminish his status got some chuckles but it did not play well with the base. DeSantis is genuinely liked and when Trump violated Parkinson’s 11th Commandment, popularized by Ronald Reagan, “Thou salt not speak ill of any fellow Republican”, many felt it was inappropriate. This has been a problem with Trump for a very long time. He simply does not know how to keep his mouth shut.

Case in point. It has long been speculated, and Trump has hinted, that he will run for the presidency again. That appeals to the base of avid Trump followers, but it scares many on the outer edges of the party. While Trump works hard, there is no doubt about that, and could outwork many people half his age (and could outwork Biden on Trump’s worst day), he is in his 70s. He is an old man, a hard-working old man, but old none the less. Many younger folks want new blood in the races and many older folks are not ready for a return to the chaos that Trump creates.

I often wonder if his business empire is full of this amount of chaos.

The second thing Trump did that demonstrated a lack of restraint is announcing, on the eve of what was anticipated to be a wave election, that he had a very big announcement to make and that he would make it a week from election day (look here I am, see me). Speculation had been that he would announce his intention to run for the presidency on election eve, but he teased everyone with the very big announcement nonsense.

What was supposed to be a wave election focused on all of our candidates turned into a spotlight back on Trump and the belief that he just announced without actually saying it. Once again, he opened his mouth and sucked the air out of the room. He made it all about him. He could have waited until the day after the election. He could have waited until next week, but he lacked the discipline to keep his mouth shut for the good of the nation. How many people were terrified that if they put more Republicans in office Trump would see it as approval of his intention to run again? How many people decided not to vote after he opened his mouth in hope of reining him in and avoiding a future return to chaos? Maybe Dr. Oz underperformed in PA districts that Trump carried because people were not willing to vote after Trump’s announcement. We will never really know but Trump should have remained silent and let the election play out.

Trump is worried about others announcing they will run in 2024. Trump has stated that if anyone runs against him it will be seen as disloyalty. Sorry Sir, the presidency does not belong to you and no one owes you allegiance. They, just like you, are free to run and in fact, many will run but they had the discipline to keep it to themselves. Trump is worried that Ron DeSantis is gaining a lot of steam in the party and will be the preferred candidate for 2024. DeSantis is young, a heavy hitting counter puncher, a conservative and a man who has the discipline required to lead. He knows when to speak and more importantly, he knows when NOT to speak.

So, after Trump insulted Governor DeSantis and after his non announcement, announcement what happened? The people of Florida promptly gave DeSantis a landslide election in Florida and that was in most seats up and down the state. They made it clear he was the future of the Republican Party. They made it clear that of the two heavy hitters in Florida, DeSantis is the one they want leading them. DeSantis led Florida through the Covid nonsense, and he showed true leadership during Hurricane Ian and he did it without the chaos and drama that seems to be inherent in Donald Trump’s character. The state is markedly improved because of DeSantis’ leadership. Floridians respect that and they rewarded that.

I like Donald Trump, but I now think his time has come and gone. He should come out next Tuesday and say he has decided to semi retire and let his kids run the business while he enjoys his remaining years playing golf at his golf courses. He should also make it clear he is passing the torch to Ron DeSantis.

On Tuesday the wave never came, some Republicans lost their seats, and the Senate is in peril. The people Trump endorsed for national office floundered and only a few made it across the finish line. What did Trump do the day after an embarrassing election? He made it about himself once again by touting how well his endorsements did. Trump said it was a great midterm because he was 174-9 in endorsements. I think he might be embellishing but the reality is it was not a great midterm when the Republican Party that he is the de facto leader of failed to pick up very many seats against a senile president with economic woes and tons of other issues that should have made wins easy. Once again Trump had to make it about him.

The big winner in all this is not Donald Trump and it is not the Republican Party. It is certainly not the American people. No, the big winner is Joe Biden. That man is a demented doddering old fool who was in a position to suffer an embarrassing loss. He did not and he might actually suffer fewer losses than Trump did in his first midterm. Trump lost 40 seats. Biden will probably not lose that many (though I firmly believe cheating helped out in this regard).

While Trump celebrates a Pyrrhic victory, Joe Biden is taking a victory lap.

All States Should Run Elections Like Florida

If I were in charge, we would have things like they were a long time ago. There would be an Election DAY. There would be no election weeks or months, just Election DAY. The only people who could receive an absentee ballot would be the people who are not present to vote on election day (military out of state, persons on vacation or travel) or who have a condition that prevents them from going to vote (in nursing home, in hospital, home bound due to illness). My idea for an absentee ballot would require you to go to a polling place if you are able to leave your house for any other reason such as to shop, go out to eat or for entertainment. Certainly, if you can do that you can go vote. I would also require paper ballots with absolutely no use of electronic voting machines.

But absent some seismic event such as federal election GUIDELINES or an amendment to the Constitution, we are certainly stuck with early voting and absentee ballots**, both of which (particularly mail in ballots) are easily used for cheating.

If your state is unable to count all your votes by the next morning, then there is cheating going on. While it certainly happens that some races are too close or turn out has increased such that it takes longer, there is no reason that all ballots cannot be counted by the next morning. The idea that mail in ballots take up to a week is a self-inflicted wound. Without widespread use of these tools of deception and cheating the count would go more quickly. The only reason it takes so long is because shenanigans take place. Pennsylvania takes forever to count (and has a history of election cheating) No, being a hugely populated state like Pennsylvania is, is not an excuse.

Florida has 9 million more people in it than Pennsylvania does, and Florida managed to count MILLIONS of ballots and have results before 10 pm on election night. Some races took a little longer, but the counting went quickly. As of this writing the total counts for Florida are well over 85% of the vote and only one Congressional District race has not been called. Pennsylvania will take days to have some results and it did not recently suffer a catastrophic hurricane like Florida did. Hell, PA is quick when it looks like Democrats are winning (or they cheated sufficiently) but takes days when Republicans are ahead.

There is no doubt the election system in our country is broken. The responsibility for running elections belongs to the state legislatures but the part of the Constitution that states that, Article I section 4, also states that Congress may alter such regulations.

“The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of chusing Senators.” ~ US Constitution, Art I Sec 4.

The choosing (chusing in original text) of Senators is done by popular vote now instead of selection by state legislatures as Article I Section 3 prescribed. Changing that was a huge mistake.

So while it would be great to have states run elections like Florida (they learned from the hanging chad days) the reality is most states do their own thing and criminal activity is baked into the process. There is a lot of cheating in elections. It exists because it works (Biden is in the White House) and because there are little to no consequences for those who get caught cheating.

We need the federal government to write a basic guideline describing the minimum standards for elections. They are allowed to, by law, make new or alter eisting regulations. A federal standard for elections is long overdue.

We should have an election day. If there is a worry about people getting off work or not being able to make it then I propose the first weekend in November be designated election weekend. You can vote on Saturday or Sunday. The standard workweek in America is Monday through Friday so most people should be off. Anyone working both of those days and whose shift covers the entire 13 (or so) hours each day that the polls are open can get an absentee ballot. Voting is not just a right (now) it is a civic duty. If it means that much to you then voting on “your” weekend should be ok. Hell, most people early vote on the weekends before elections anyway. Maybe we make it 24 hours from Saturday through to Sunday so people can vote at any time removing the worry about having to work. This is something the guidelines can spell out.

All ballots should be paper ballots that come in a packet that has a bar code or QR code (or other security device) that must be scanned to activate the ballots in the packet (like they do for scratch off lottery tickets). When more ballots are needed a new packet is activated (by the poll supervisor and only that person) by scanning and then can be used. Any ballot that comes from a packet that has not been activated will not scan (a warning will show on the scanner screen) and it will be instantly obvious that something is wrong. This will keep people from producing fake ballots (or stealing ballots) and introducing them into the election like was done in 2020.

People absolutely MUST have ID to vote. I do not want to hear any crying about how unfair it is to minorities. That is a racist construct by people who want to cheat. Minorities are just as smart as everyone else and they can figure out how to get an ID. In fact, nearly everyone has an ID. You cannot do much of anything these days without an ID. The government that tells you ID is racist is the same government that requires you to have a Real ID (that is very burdensome). If that ID is good enough to verify identitiy then it is good enough to use to vote. Anyone who does not drive can get a non driver ID card at no cost.

An ID is required to buy alcohol, buy tobacco, open a bank account, apply for government social services, apply for Social Security or Medicare, apply for unemployment or for a job, rent or buy a house or apply for a mortgage, drive, buy or rent a car, get on an airplane, get married, purchase a firearm, adopt a pet, rent a hotel room, apply for a hunting or fishing license, buy a cell phone, visit a casino, pick up a prescription, hold a rally or protest, donate blood, and purchase certain cold medications.

Certainly, nearly everyone does at least one of these things so nearly everyone has an ID. If we have to show an ID to do all the things listed (and that is not a complete list) then we should have to show ID to vote. If anyone is against showing an ID to vote, then they are in favor of cheating. Anyone in government who is opposed, fosters and encourages an environment of cheating.

There needs to be stiff penalties for cheating in an election. It must be a federal felony and the punishment must be, loss of right to vote, prohibition on working for campaigns or at the polls, and a 5 year minimum sentence in federal prison. The left is up in arms about J6 and the alleged insurrection. People have been in jail for over 2 years without a trial and without bond. They are political prisoners. Surely the same can be done to those who attempt to manipulate the election process for political gain. They are more dangerous than the J6 people…

It will likely never happen and I imagine, much to my dismay, that we will be engaged in another Civil War before we ever get these things fixed. Our nation is divided, and it is so because politicians of all stripes refuse to uphold the Constitution and they have used tax dollars to create a dependent/victim class that is always aggrieved and looking for more things to which they are entitled. Politicians violate our Constitution and the tyrants in black robes allow them to do it.

Until we either fix the system or have the next revolutionary act we should follow the model that Florida has provided. It is not perfect, but it is better than anything else out there.

(**) Maryland adopted the widespread use of absentee ballots and changed the law to rename them Mail-In Ballots. This language is required by election officials. They should have called them what they really are, election fraud documents.

Coming up: Donald Trump should not run for the presidency again.

Vaccine Round Up Star Date 2021.312

1. Vermont has the highest rate of Covid vaccination of any US state and it has just reported a record 527 Covid cases. So much for all this BS about a pandemic of the unvaccinated. Remove the games played with definitions (if you got the jabs but it has not been 14 days you are unvaccinated for the reporting of Covid) and we know exactly where the issues are coming from. BTW, India has 1.3 BILLION people and had 11,648 new cases and 256 deaths. Those numbers are down greatly from when they started using Ivermectin. Africa, where Ivermectin is used routinely in some nations had 2,554 new cases and 142 new deaths. I bet if our government had not refused the use of Ivermectin and cared about your health instead of money we would have had a lot fewer deaths.

2. According to the VAERS reporting system (where only 1% of vaccine issues are actually reported) there have been 634,609 adverse events and 8,284 deaths associated with the Covid vaccines from 14 December 2020 and 29 October 2021. These deaths and serious injuries include children who were in good health until their government led them to their deaths.

3. The Covid measures are important. The federal government imposes mask rules inside all its buildings and unvaccinated people must wear a mask outside on federal property. Follow the rules or else. Chuck Schumer was in Puerto Rico with a bunch of other libs and none of them were wearing masks in places where required. Schumer was shown doing his old drunk guy at a party dance while NOT wearing his face diaper. It would appear as if the threat is not really as bad as they are saying. We also have shown, once again, how the rules only apply to YOU.

4. It is going to get much worse. There are plenty of supplies and there are plenty of places making the things we need but we can’t get them to where they need to be. There are hold ups at ports with hundreds of cargo ships anchored offshore waiting permission to come in and unload. There are not enough truck drivers to get the stuff from the ports of entry to the places where they are needed. The Biden vaccine mandate will make that even worse as some 30% of truck drivers will not get vaccinated. Many companies will cancel contracts with the federal government but others might not be able to do so. In any event, the nation moves and thrives because of farmers and truckers. If either of those stop working we are in a world of hurt.

5. Nancy Pelosi is a typical liberal. She spent her entire political career dictating how you should live and forcing people to pay a lot of money in taxes. She supports mandates for masks and vaccines and she supports liberals who lock down their states to beat the 1% lethal Covid monster. Pelosi is also a typical liberal when it comes to her own life. Marjorie Taylor Green of Georgia reports that Pelosi was in Florida looking for a home. Rumors are that Pelosi will not run for reelection next year because of the expected Red Tsunami heading her way. She is going to retire and it looks like she is trying to get property in Florida where the high taxes and vaccine mandates will not affect her salon visits. You know, Florida, The place with no income tax, no Covid tyranny and no liberal BS to put up with. MTG says Pelosi was on the same flight as she and was looking for a home in Florida. I think Floridians would prefer Pelosi and other Dem-Commies stay in their liberal hell holes and away from Conservative states. No one needs the disease of progressive-socialism-communism spread to their states. Tell Nazi Pelosi to stay in California where she belongs.

What Next Doctors?

There is a story that a large number of doctors at a Florida hospital will not treat patients who have not been vaccinated. The story actually indicates that they walked out rather than treat patients who have not been vaccinated. These doctors sound like a bunch of whiny people looking for attention or looking to use their positions to coerce people to get vaccinated.

To be fair, there are fact checks that indicate that the doctors did not refuse to treat unvaccinated patients and their walkout was more of a time between patients to come out and express their frustrations to media.

However, this idea of not treating the unvaccinated is not fresh. A doctor in Alabama has already told his patients he will not see them after 1 October 2021 if they have not been vaccinated. Did these Florida doctors indicate they would not treat patients and then realize the legal issues involved for the hospital and pull back on their story? Who knows? But let me forge on and those doctors who are thinking the same way can get a different perspective.

By the way, if these doctors merely want to complain, fine. I think patients should complain when doctors schedule them for an appointment and then have them sit for hours past that time. Maybe if the doctors were not out crying about unvaccinated patients they could see people on time, but I digress.

So before I discuss the issues in the article, I have a few questions. The first is are these doctors treating patients who HAVE been vaccinated but still got Covid? Before you start with the mindless BS the media spews, yes fully vaccinated people are being admitted to the hospital with Covid. There are plenty each day (most of the people in the hospital with Covid in Israel are vaccinated) but you probably need names and they do not usually publish the names of some unknown person so how about this. Jesse Jackson and his wife are fully vaccinated and have been admitted to a hospital for Covid.

How many patients coming into these facilities are illegal aliens who have not been vaccinated and were instead dumped in Florida. Will these doctors not treat the illegals the government dropped off?

Where do these doctors draw the line? You see, if they can say they would rather walk out than treat unvaccinated Covid patients (assuming that to be the case) what is to stop them from walking out rather than treat an obese heart attack patient? Will they go on a rant and tell people to lose weight? Will they stop treating fat people all together? Will these doctors walk out rather than treat a smoker with lung cancer?

You see doctors, people make choices in life and sometimes those choices are not good for them but you are not the moral authority here. Your job is to treat people who come in with a medical problem. If you want to give them educational material and discuss vaccination (or weight loss or smoking cessation) then fine but you do not get to pick and choose what you will treat because you do not like the choices.

One Doctor, J.T. Snarski (who has online comments indicating she is rude) was interviewed and here is what she had to say:

“It’s incredibly frustrating,” Dr. Snarski said. “Because we know vaccines are safe and effective. And it’s people who go out and talk against them that really go against physicians and medicine and science. And it’s not the message we want to get across to people. Vaccines are safe and we need to get our communities vaccinated.”

Hi Doctor Snarski. Could you please tell me the effects of the mRNA “vaccines” five years after administration? Can you tell me the effects ten years down the road? Can you spell out any of the long term problems the drugs cause? No, you can’t because they have not been studied that long. They were developed (sequenced on a computer) and then tested and then the EUA was given. The control groups of the tests were lost when the drug makers broke protocol and vaccinated them. There is nothing to compare to. We do have the vaccine reports indicating there are issues with some folks because of this drug.

I credit Snarski with the gifted speech of a politician. She said vaccines are safe and effective. This is a true statement about vaccines in general, you know the ones that have been tested for years and years and then used for years and years. She never said the Covid vaccines are safe and effective. How do we know when this technology has never been used before? They cause your cells to grow things that are not part of the human anatomy. Humans do not normally grow spike proteins. What long term effects might occur because of this? Since we have never used mRNA for vaccines before we have no historical data to look at. No tests or anything.

As an aside, Novavax will use tried and true technology that involves growing the proteins in insect tissue and then using the proteins to induce an immune response. We know that method is safer and has a history of use. Most people are not anti vax (some are but not most). They just want something they can trust a little more than something new that has no track record. Offer something like that and more people might be willing to get vaccinated. Regardless Dr. Snarski, you do not get to tell them what to do in any case.

Part of the story (which was on Morning Joe) had this gem:

“What Americans don’t understand is for every unvaccinated person that is filling up an ICU bed, that means, with the hospitals jammed, somebody with a heart attack, and I’ve known somebody in this position, goes there, has trouble getting in, can’t get treatment, can’t get a bed, it is a nightmare for the doctors, it is a nightmare for the nurses,” Scarborough said. “And to the doctor’s point-of-view, it’s worse yet for sick people that want help from them.”

Really?

Until Covid came along the scene described above played out in nearly every hospital in the nation during a normal flu season. I worked in hospitals for years and years. During EVERY flu season we had overflow beds in hallways, in other parts of the hospital and in the ER. We had to board patients in the ER until beds opened on the floors. Even when we were on bypass the ambulances would keep bring patients because every other hospital was in the same situation. Any nurse who works in a hospital can tell you this. It is rare to have a flu season that is not as described. And yes doctors (and Morning Joe) we had heart attack patients come in when we had no place to put them. That is when hospitals exercise their plans and make sure everyone gets treated.

And this is in a population that normally gets the flu vaccine. Who knows, maybe these doctors will start refusing care to the people who do not get the flu shot.

Today the FDA rushed through the approval of the Pfizer vaccine in order to fulfil its political duty to the ruling class. If Pfizer is now approved does it lose its immunity from litigation should the drug cause harm? If your employer mandates you get it and you get sick can you sue your employer? A what point do we rise up and squash this tyranny?

BTW, many years ago I was a medic on an ambulance. Can you imagine the uproar that it would have caused if we rolled up on an accident and the driver of the car was obviously intoxicated so we refused to treat him?

Doctors, above all else, primum non nocere (first, do no harm).

Big Brother; More Data Collection

We already know that social media like Facebook and Twitter as well as Google’s services are used to spy on Americans (and users around the world). Law enforcement agencies scan these outlets looking for people to profile and use data, provided either by the user or by the company, to keep data bases of folks that are of interest to the agents of government.

Make no mistake, whenever there is any kind of activity that collects data or asks for information the legitimate use is not the ONLY use. Agencies keep the information.

In Maryland the site that is used by hunters and outdoorsmen collects email addresses and the site specifically states those will only be used for the purpose of whatever transactions take place. The Governor of Maryland used that database to send emails out to people in a push for support of his unconstitutional gun grab. He violated the law in using the information for reasons that are outside those stated.

This happens all the time and I would not be surprised if the federal and state governments have massive databases of people who own firearms. They are supposed to destroy the paperwork generated when a firearm is purchased but you can bet they have kept it.

All new laws being proposed by government at every level includes provisions for the collection of information and incorporation into databases. Despite what they tell you, the information is being kept.

These items are usually generated through some feel good legislation that proposes some action that seems to be in the best interests of the people. In reality, this is not the case.

In Palm Beach County Florida the Sheriff has been awarded 1 million dollars for a new violence prevention program.

Wow, that sounds great. What will they do with the money to prevent violence? Well, it looks like they will be setting up a snitch site where people can call and report anyone they feel is violent. People will be encouraged via public service announcements to report their neighbors and coworkers if there is ANY concern. So if a guy loses his temper at work or goes on a rant because someone’s dog dropped a deuce on his lawn, they could be reported to the police.

This will result in a knock on the door with concerned officers asking if all is OK? There will be no arrests, just a caring, concerned government agent asking if all is well and providing resources in case someone needs help. The people will not know who reported them or why so there will be no way to explain (as if you should have to) why you were reported.

Here is the rub. The sheriff says that this will also allow the agency to collect information:

The goal won’t be to arrest troubled people but to get them help before there’s violence, Bradshaw said. As a side benefit, law enforcement will have needed information to keep a close eye on things. [emphasis mine]

Did you get that? As a result of the campaign the police will have information to keep an eye on people. He says things but things do not cause violence; people do so he is really saying they can keep an eye on people, period.

This program sounds wonderful to the uninformed but it will do nothing more than give police information to keep in a database. This will allow them to surveil people for no particular reason and without any probable cause. It is not probable cause just because some person reported you. What evidence is there that you are a danger? What indication, other than the report of a person who saw you, is there that you might be dangerous?

Will the information be used to confiscate firearms a person might own? Will the police look at the database and determine that someone reported that they FELT you might harm yourself or others be enough for them to take away your firearms or perhaps, your children?

This is dangerous and nothing more than an escalation of the police state we saw blatantly displayed in Boston.

We already have a system where people can report something they feel is a problem. They can call the police as they have been doing for decades on end. Police can take a report and determine if some kind of crime occurred. This new program encourages people to seek out and report others who might be doing nothing more than having a bad day. It allows officers to knock on the door to check people out but most concerning is the compilation of data that can be used against people in any fashion government chooses.

Free people do not live like this.

Many of the people who have committed these mass casualty crimes were on the radar of law enforcement and nothing was done about them. So contrary to the sheriff’s claim that someone knew and could have reported it, the reality is the police knew and did nothing about it.

Therefore, the entire scheme is nothing more than a data collection operation that will provide more information on people so government can further violate their rights.

Freedom is not free. It costs a lot in blood, sweat, and tears. It costs way too much to give it up without a fight…
