How Many Geithners Are There To Help Out?
Jul 10, 2011 Political
Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner said that there will be hard times for Americans for a long time to come. He also said that Barack Obama rescued us from the second Great Depression, the financial mess caused by his party and their careless ways. Geithner is pushing lawmakers to raise the debt ceiling so that we will not default. This is hyperbole designed to stir up the masses because we will not default. The country takes in 200 billion dollars a month and the amount needed to service the debt is about 20 Billion dollars, or ten percent of what we take in.
What we will not have is money to pay for the items that are not associated with servicing the debt. We will not default on our debt but we will have to cut way back on some programs, programs that should have been paired down or eliminated a long time ago.
As Geithner is out predicting doom and gloom the Democrats are pushing for 2 trillion dollars in tax increases coupled with 4 trillion dollars in cuts (over ten years). This is a non starter for Republicans who know that raising taxes in a bad economy is not a good thing and that lower taxes, in general, are better for our financial health.
But since we are talking about taxes perhaps we should explore an area where more tax revenue can be brought in. Why don’t we go after people like Tim Geithner, you know, those who don’t pay their taxes.
There are a number of people in this country who do not pay the taxes they owe. Hell, look how many Obama appointees or nominees to positions had tax problems. If this is a representation of the Democrat political class in this country then there are a lot of people out there we can go after to increase revenue. There are lot of them and you know who they are. These are the folks, like John Kerry, who think it is perfectly OK to tax us to death but who go out of their way to avoid paying the taxes they owe. Kerry did not keep his luxury yacht in his home state in order to avoid paying the taxes. He also pays taxes at the lower rate in his state.
So I propose that we audit every person in this country who is in a government elected or appointed position including advisers who receive no federal pay so that we can ensure they are paying their fair share of the tax burden. Tim Geithner did not pay his taxes and, come to think of it, neither did Charlie Rangel. It is high time we hold these people’s feet to the fire and make them pay up.
Before they start going after the people in this country who pay nearly all the taxes they need to go after those who are trying to get that money.
Maybe if we find all these tax dodgers and make them pay we will have enough money to cover the debt. Likely not but why let that stop us since the fact that taxing the rich at 100% would not pay off the debt does not stop these people from going after them.
We are hurting and Geithner says it will continue for a long time. It is because people like him failed to pay up coupled with failed Democrat policies that we are in this mess in the first place.
Time for pitchforks and torches…
Cave Canem!
Never surrender, never submit.

Detroit Deserves To Waste Taxpayer Money
Apr 13, 2011 Political
Councilwoman JoAnn Watson of Detroit is saying that the city deserves (get that, deserves) a bailout at least as big as the one GM received. This is, of course, assuming you think GM deserved to be bailed out. Conservatives believe that GM and any other company that could not make it should be left to fail. Some other entity can then come in and take the failure’s place. Watson is a liberal, in a liberal city, that has been run into the ground by liberals and now she wants the American taxpayer to foot the bill.
Why should Detroit get any money from people who do not live there and who do not visit there? Why does Detroit DESERVE bailout money?
Why would we give that city our money just so it could spend it on the failed liberal policies that got it in the mess in the first place?
Detroit deserves better leadership and it deserves people who can run a city without running it into the ground. Watson is a typical liberal. Promise the world to people until a majority of them depend on government (and the producers leave) to exist and then beg for someone to bail them out when the policies fail.
How about Detroit revamp its tax system and entice businesses to move there and invest instead of begging taxpayers from across the nation to foot the bill for policies that guarantee poverty?
And while she is at it perhaps she can tap some of Detroit’s rich alumni** and ask them for the money?
One thing is certain, the taxpayer should not foot the bill for Detroit or any other city (or state) whether they think they deserve it or not.
**Not everyone on this list is rich but quite a few are.
Cave Canem!
Never surrender, never submit.

The Beatles Foretold of Obama
Mar 28, 2008 Political
The Beatles (a famous musical group for those of you too young) had a song about the Tax Man. They could have been talking about the Democratic Party in general but they must have known that Barack Obama was going to appear in the future because everything in that song could apply to his plans for America. Barack Obama has already indicated that he would raise the cap on income subject to Social Security, an action that throws good money at a bad problem with addressing he root cause.
Now Obama is saying that he will raise the Capital Gains tax to no mre than 28% (nearly double what it is now). Of course Obama wants people to believe that this will only affect the rich because in the world of liberalism only rich people make enough money to have capital gains. However, about half the country owns stock and other items that would be subject to the higher tax so everyone who invests for the future will have that future attacked by Obama, the Tax Man. The rich, well they know how to shelter their money. Warren Buffet, a man Obama claims to have discussed his tax ideas with, shelters his money. John Kerry’s wife earned 2.54 million dollars in non taxable interest by investing in things she did not have to pay taxes on. The rich know how to avoid taxes. The rest of us will end up paying the 28% to fuel the government but once again, Obama misses the boat because higher taxes stifle investment and they do not address the root cause of the problem.
The real problem is out of control spending. The federal government spends more than it takes in and it continually invents new ways to spend more and more. Little is ever cut and lawmakers fight tooth and nail to keep pork projects and earmarks which waste taxpayer money. This country does not pay too little in taxes, we spend too much. Social programs account for around 70% of the budget. Congress never cuts programs or consolidates, it just makes new programs and adds money to failing ones. Couple this with earmarks and spending spirals (not like Hillary’s airplane) out of control.
Obama wants to add to the tax burden of the people in this country. There is no need for this and it is regressive. An increase in the capital gains tax will stifle investment and add to our economic woes. Increasing taxes on wealthy will lead to creation of fewer jobs. Obama claims to be for change and he claims to be progressive with new and progressive ideas but his ideas are the same old worn out, tried and failed liberal tax and spend programs that keep people enslaved to the government.
The Beatles described Obama and liberals quite well:
One, two, three, four…
Hrmm!
One, two, (one, two, three, four!)Let me tell you how it will be;
There’s one for you, nineteen for me.
‘Cause I’m the taxman,
Yeah, I’m the taxman.Should five per cent appear too small,
Be thankful I don’t take it all.
‘Cause I’m the taxman,
Yeah, I’m the taxman.(if you drive a car, car;) – I’ll tax the street;
(if you try to sit, sit;) – I’ll tax your seat;
(if you get too cold, cold;) – I’ll tax the heat;
(if you take a walk, walk;) – I’ll tax your feet.Taxman!
‘Cause I’m the taxman,
Yeah, I’m the taxman.Don’t ask me what I want it for, (ah-ah, mister Wilson)
If you don’t want to pay some more. (ah-ah, mister heath)
‘Cause I’m the taxman,
Yeah, I’m the taxman.Now my advice for those who die, (taxman)
Declare the pennies on your eyes. (taxman)
‘Cause I’m the taxman,
Yeah, I’m the taxman.And you’re working for no one but me.
Taxman!
