Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/corzine-did-not-pay-the-piper/.

Goodfellow Jon Corzine has stolen and wasted the money of a lot of people. Then, after he was no longer Governor of New Jersey, he lost the money of a lot of other people. Corzine’s MF Global went belly up and there is a lot of money that can’t be accounted for. Billions of dollars in people’s money vanished in thin air faster than an Obama grant to a green energy company.

Corzine was grilled on Capitol Hill and some of that grilling came from fellow Democrats. Since it is not unusual for large sums of money to disappear when a Democrat is involved one must assume that the grilling was because it is an election year and Democrats need to play their election year game of pretending to look out for people.

However, it appears as if one Democrat, Senator Debbie Stabenow of Michigan, was relentless for another reason. Corzine did not donate money to her reelection campaign even though she called several times a week asking for donations.

The Democratic senator who savaged Jon Corzine at a high-profile Capitol Hill hearing this week had another reason to go hard on her former colleague — she recently pressed him for campaign contributions but didn’t get any.

“She would literally call once every two or three weeks,” one Corzine intimate said of Sen. Debbie Stabenow (DMich.). New York Post

Now we know why she was so relentless. She did not get her money. The Wiseguy Corzine did not pay tribute to his former colleague so she took him to task.

There is no doubt that Corzine should be in jail with others who have bilked people out of money.

And when he goes there are 535 members of the US Congress who should join him. That number would go way up if we could get those who no longer serve in Congress but are just as guilty of bilking us out of our money.

Perhaps we should set the people in Gitmo free in some country in the Middle East and send all the Congress critters, past and present, there so taxpayers could have a respite from the daily crimes perpetrated on them.

Yeah, that’s the ticket.

And then Stabenow and Corzine would have lots of alone time to discuss things.

Cave canem!
Never surrender, never submit.

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/pelosi-is-out-of-touch-with-reality/.

Obamacare is an anchor around the necks of Americans and it will cost a fortune. Not only will it cost a fortune but not all people will be insured and government officials will be involved in our health. Our care will be based on what some bean counter decides and, contrary to Obama’s claim, we won’t be able to keep our doctors if we like them.

Nancy Pelosi, who once said we had to pass the bill to see what was in it (and we are finding more and more problems), is defending the 1800 or so waivers granted by the Obama administration. Yes, waivers have been granted so that some businesses do not have to participate in Obamacare. The health care solution, the panacea, is so great that companies have requested and been granted waivers from participating. The funny thing is that unions and other groups that pushed for this monstrosity to be rammed down our throats have applied for and received waivers. It is good enough for us but not for them.

Pelosi defended the waivers by claiming that they were granted to very small businesses and that the waivers would have a very small impact on our economy. If Obamacare is so great, why did they need waivers to begin with?

And if it is so great why did all the groups that supported it line up to apply for waivers before the ink was dry on the newly signed law.

And why is Pelosi defending the waivers when she and all her cohorts said it was the fix we needed?

And finally, why did McDonalds get a waiver when it is one of the largest businesses in America?

Surely that company does not qualify as very, very small and certainly it has a large impact on our economy.

This is election year history rewriting. It is time for Pelosi and her ilk to get out and tell you what you should believe because they say so.

Who will you believe, a known liar like Pelosi (and most politicians) or your own “lying” eyes?

Occupy the White House in 2012.

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/democrats-continue-with-the-race-card/.

To Democrats, Republicans are racists. There is no getting around it because the left will invent racism where it does not exist or redefine it in order to make the claim. Oppose Barack Obama’s policies, racist. Oppose illegal aliens entering our country, racist (despite the fact that a person’s nationality is NOT a race). Note to liberals, Hispanic is not a race and neither is Islamic or Muslim (though some are listed as “race” on forms, they are not races).

The Democrats make these claims despite the fact that it has been Republicans who have been on the side of equal and civil rights. Republicans ended slavery, introduced civil rights legislation, and were the driving force in passing the Civil Rights Act. All Democrats have done is treat minorities as second class citizens by using affirmative action and welfare as tools to control people. The very nature of affirmative action is that the minority is not capable of achieving on his own and requires his betters to help him. It is racism and it comes from the left.

Democrats have to invent the boogeyman of racism in order to fire up the base, a base so use to hearing about racism that it too sees race in every issue. Donna Brazile, a Democrat, has an article out in USA Today discussing the GOP 2012 Game Plan as one of disenfranchisement. She goes on to explain that voter fraud laws and laws requiring ID to vote are discriminatory to minorities, cost lots of money, and are implemented in battleground states, like Ohio, where there is no history of voter fraud. Funny, when Democrats lose in Ohio, they scream voter fraud.

Another funny thing is that Democrats will work extra hard to disenfranchise the votes coming in from the military. I do not recall Brazile writing a column about the continuous disenfranchisement of military members by politicians on the left. The left has, year after year, found ways to discount tens of thousands of votes from the people serving in our military. And guess what, all those folks have a valid ID card.

There are many stories about voter fraud in places like Ohio despite the claims to the contrary.

In Ohio a man from Illinois is taken to vote.
Voting irregularities in Florida and Ohio

There are heavily Democrat areas where 125% of the population voted in the last election. There are recounts where hundreds of votes for Democrats miraculously appear in order to change the vote and guarantee the win. Democrats know how to cheat and they do it very well. ACORN was set up to help them with that endeavor. The fraud there should be enough to demonstrate the need for ID and other measures.

But no, to Brazile it is a matter of racism. The poor people will not be able to vote because they can’t get an ID card. So tell me, how do these people get welfare? You need to prove who you are in order to get welfare so how do they do that?

While one could argue if voting is an individual right (the Constitution does not list it as an explicit right, only reasons you can’t be denied the “right to vote”). In other words, a state could change the way people are elected and eliminate a vote. The federal government could do that. However, assuming we have a “right” to vote why is it that an ID is not required to exercise that right?

We have an absolute right to keep and bear arms and yet many states infringe on that right. There is no state where one can buy a gun without showing an ID. So tell me, if I have to show an ID to buy a gun why does a person not have to show an ID to vote?

We have to show identification to open a bank account, sign our kids up for sports or school, get a driver’s license, enter a federal or state government building, get on an airplane, buy alcohol or tobacco and when requested by a police officer.

So tell me, why is voting any different? What makes it so special that people should not have to show an ID to do it?

And don’t bother telling me how people can’t afford an ID. I am tired of that argument. If you want to vote then you can get an ID (in the unlikely event you do not have one). You can give up smokes for a few days and pay for an ID. And NO, the government should not provide one to you for free. If I want to buy a gun but do not have an ID you can bet the government will NOT provide one for me and buying a gun, unlike voting, is a clearly enumerated right in our Constitution.

To put it another way, if you are unable to get an ID you should not be allowed to vote.

Yes, Brazile is worried about the 21 million Americans of voting age who do not have an ID and therefore will not be able to vote. Since one is required to show an ID to get a job it would appear that there are bigger concerns than voting here. Perhaps these disenfranchised Democrats should get a photo ID so they can GET A JOB.

Brazile might be right about this affecting Democrats more than Republicans. Getting an ID is a matter of personal responsibility and Democrats lack that attribute.

However, for those still concerned that folks won’t get an ID just tell them they need it for their gubmint check and they will jump right up and get it.

One last thing, Brazile is concerned that the laws reducing the number of days of early voting and removing the ability to change one’s address on Election Day will affect people. What kind of drugs does she take? A change of address does not sneak up on people and neither does Election Day. People are able to address this prior to Election Day. Anyone who waits until Election Day to deal with this is demonstrating a lack of personal responsibility. As for early voting, the longer the polls are open the more opportunity there is for fraud.

I will offer this to Ms. Brazile. Our game plan is not to keep voters home. It is to ensure that only those who are eligible to vote do so and that they only do it once (and in the correct polling place). PERIOD. My game plan would be to require a birth certificate to register to vote and an ID to actually vote. I needed that to join the Army so there should be no complaints.

I also add that the penalty for fraudulent voting (and voter intimidation, hear that Eric Holder) should be mandatory 10 years in jail with no parole and no probation. If you vote in Florida and also in New York and get caught then you should go to jail for 10 years with no exception. PERIOD.

We need to stop pussy footing around with people and hold them responsible.

And we need people like Donna Brazile to crawl back under her rock and quit with the cries of racism and claims of disenfranchisement. Her party is the guilty party and the story could very easily have been written, DEMs game plan for 2012. Disenfranchise the military like they do every election.

But what would America be without the race baiters to stir up phony claims of racism?

It would be a better place where minorities were not held captive on the left’s plantation…

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/hey-harlem-you-had-your-chance/.

I am constantly amazed at how dense some people can be. Take for instance, the people of Harlem in New York. Now that Charlie Rangel has been convicted of 11 ethics violations many of the Harlem folks say he should resign (though some, amazingly, still support him).

The news of Rangel’s corruption is not a recent thing. He has been under investigation for over two years and it was obvious to most everyone that he was guilty. How does one explain away using official stationary and postage to mail out fund raising material? That is against the law. Even if all the other allegations were on shaky ground, this one had hard evidence.

Evidently, so did the others as he was found guilty on 11 of 13. One was dismissed and the other was combined with one of the other allegations (so he was guilty on 12 of 13 original charges).

So the question is, why are all these folks from Harlem now calling for Charlie to step down? THEY JUST REELECTED HIM.

The people of Harlem had the chance to get rid of Rangel on their own and they chose to put him back in office.

And herein lies the issue. I am willing to bet that most of the people who voted for Rangel probably had no idea that he was under investigation. They probably just discovered the issue when the news broke that he had been convicted. The people of his district probably just vote for the Democrat they have elected in the past because he brings home the bacon and he must be a great guy.

It is people like these who keep putting career criminal politicians back in office.

So you folks have no real reason to ask him to resign. You just gave him the job again for two more years.

Maybe you can get better educated and start paying attention from now on.

Cave Canem!
Never surrender, never submit.
Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/the-not-so-great-communicator/.

Barack Obama is supposed to be a great orator and communicator though anyone with a brain can see that when he does not have a teleprompter and a script he sounds like a stuttering fool. Obama blamed the beating his party took in the last election on his inability to communicate how good his agenda was and how good what they did was for the average schmo on the street. Yep, you folks are too dense to see what is good for you.

Truth be told, Obama spoke about his health care reform more than 50 times and his minions were out on the streets trying to explain it as well. The reality is that he communicated it quite well and the American public did not buy it. We did not buy his health care, cap and trade, his ramming things down our throats or the arm twisting and back room deals that took place.

“Making an argument that people can understand,” Mr. Obama continued, “I think that we haven’t always been successful at that. And I take personal responsibility for that. And it’s something that I’ve got to examine carefully … as I go forward.”

We heard it and we understood it. It was not bad communication Barack, it was bad policy.

But maybe, just maybe, your minions and you would have been able to communicate the health care bill better if say, you all had read it.

Remember, while you were communicating it to us Nancy Pelosi said we had to pass it to see what was in it.

That sounds like a recipe for disaster and you felt that disaster on election day.

Keep on believing that you did not communicate well enough and you will be in for another trouncing come 2012.

Cave Canem!
Never surrender, never submit.

Copyright © 2012 Mr. Ogre. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/elections-over-back-to-the-usual/.

Okay, so the “biggest election in your lifetime” is over (once again). I know, it was massive, it was huge, blah, blah, blah. Now it’s back to business as usual. No, really. Did you really think this was going to change anything?

Will this change health care? Nope. The Democrats still control the Senate. It is Obama’s signature legislation. He will veto any attempts to remove it, and that’s a done deal. Sure, Judges can still rule on it, but the election didn’t change that.

Do you think spending will change? Not likely. After all, we’re spending $200 million a day so the president can go on vacation. House Republicans, where spending is supposed to start, will have a choice: stand on principle, reduce spending massively, and have the Senate disagree. If the House Republicans stand firm, the government will shut down. I believe they won’t allow that to happen. Instead, the House Republicans will whine and complain, but in the end they will take their second option: pass a spending bill that increases spending across the board, “to keep government running.” Then they will claim they need you to vote for them in 2014 so they can do better. Net result? More spending. Lots more.

Do you think the economy will change? HA! Keep in mind, right now the government actually believes prices are too low. No, I’m serious. The fed is about to buy bonds. This is at the same time the treasury is borrowing more money. And the only reason you buy bonds is to increase inflation. I’m completely serious. The fed WANTS TO INCREASE PRICES. Only one guy in the Senate seems to get it. Prices are increasing massively. We are in a downward spiral, artificially supported by massive, record government spending. It will get worse before it gets better.

So, what signs would there be that I’m completely wrong?

Watch how the Republicans in the Senate treat people like Rand Paul and Lisa Murkowski. Rand Paul ran as an outsider. If he is turned and starts supporting earmarks and like, there will be more of the same. Lisa Murkowski won on an independent ticket without the support of Republicans in her state. A principled Republican Party would let her start over, and let her ask for things. A Republican Party that’s doing business as usual will let her retain all her power and seniority.

Watch the House — this is supposedly a great “mandate for change.” But who will be running the house? Boehner? He’s been there 20 years. If he’s in charge, how will anything change? Sure, he says he’s for “smaller government,” but we’ll see, won’t we? A true, radical change, would be to elect one of these new people as House Speaker. Now THAT would be historic.

Watch North Carolina, and especially Wisconsin. North Carolina has a Republican legislature for the first time since the 1800s, even if it’s with a far-left governor. Wisconsin went from Democrat control to Republican legislature and governor. If there is actual change, these states will just completely slash spending by over 50%. They will throw out massive amounts of regulation. I mean radical actions that will bring out the press in record numbers (with criticism). If it’s business as usual, watch for tiny amounts of spending cuts (which will be portrayed as killing children).

Now I do hope I’m wrong. But I’m guessing I’m not. In fact, I’ll go out on a limb now and make some predictions for 2014 (yes, already, why not?).

The economy will continue to suck. Government spending will increase, the debt will increase, the dollar will continue to fall making things more expensive. Government will deny that things are more expensive and will trumpet that the recovery is awesome. More people will be on food stamps and government will spend more. This will be reported as success. The Bush tax cuts will expire, giving the government even more money to spend.

There will be a showdown in the House and Republicans will blink. The campaign in 2014 will be:
Republicans: Oh, we were so close. We almost did it this time. Send us back with a Republican president and we’ll really do good THIS time.
Democrats: Wow, that was too close! Those Republicans almost killed all the old people and children. And look how bad the economy is now with Republicans in power! You really need us Democrats back now.

Obama will run again. He will get 102% of the black vote and 105% of the Democrat vote. Republicans will again pick some moderate wishy-washy guy (like McCain or Romney). A third-party will make a strong showing (Paul, Keyes, someone else?) so that Obama wins again. The press will evoke enough fear and enough people will have so little money, Democrats will show up to vote in droves. People will be told that if you don’t vote Obama again, you’re racist and slavery will be back in place the day after the election. Republicans and Tea Party people won’t show up in large numbers because they’re annoyed that 2012 elections gave them zero results. All 3 branches go back Democrat. Obama, in his last term, with the help of House Democrats will run the country into the ground and by 2016 the US dollar will be worthless and the government will declare bankruptcy for protection from Chinese-owned debt. Most people won’t notice, because they’re trying to make sure little Johnny isn’t late for soccer practice.

I hope I’m shown completely wrong.

But enough with the realism, how about a nice, rosy picture? Here’s what I’d love to see happen:

House Republicans grow a spine. On the first day in office, they make the so-called “Bush” tax cuts permanent. Next, they pass a rule that says that if the government “shuts down,” all spending levels continue at 50% of their current levels and there is no funding for Congress. They write a budget that actually reduces spending massively — not just reductions in increases. In the meantime, they start getting rid of moronic government regulations, starting by tossing out the EPA, the dept of Education, ATF, and the dept of Energy. They stand on the budget and refuse to give in when the Senate refuses to pass it. Obama, the Senate, and the media all start screaming about how evil the House Republicans are — and the House adjourns and they go home, leaving government running at half-speed.

Obama issues executive orders to spend money, but no one listens to him. Government workers, who now have only half-jobs, actually start looking for training and start trying to get jobs where they have to be productive. Due to the government reductions and reductions in regulations, businesses can actually start producing again and can hire the former government workers as burger flippers, as the former burger flippers, now that they have shown they can work, move up.

In 2014, Obama doesn’t run for re-election. He claims it’s because of his health or something, people don’t really notice or care. Ron Paul somehow secures the Republican nomination for president. Hillary runs on the Democrat ticket, but only wins NY, VT, FL, CA, WA, and OR. Republicans win the House (losing a few seats) and get 50 seats in the Senate. Paul then sets about setting up a government based on the US Constitution.

Hey, I can dream of a better world, right?

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/now-it-is-our-turn-to-speak/.

For the past two years we have listened to the politicians who have refused to listen to us. They ignored the will of the people and conducted a one way conversation by telling us what they were going to do, when they were going to do it, and how much we would like it. They also spelled out how great it would all be.

For the past half year or so we have been barraged with political ads and non stop campaigning as they once again spoke to us and told us why they deserved to be sent back to DC. Many of them ran from their records and many shunned new candidates as out of touch morons who did not understand how the process works. The establishment politicians from both sides have tried to disparage those who decided to, as Obama might say, get some skin in the game.

We have been forced to listen to them and they have refused to listen to us. In fact, they ignored us and now it is time for us, We the People, to have our say.

Today is election day across this nation and after months and months of listening, we get to speak. It is our turn and we will be heard.

Get out and vote. Vote your conscience and vote for candidates who espouse your points of view. Remember those politicians who refused to listen to you because today is the day they must listen to you.

Finally, you will be heard, loud and clear.

For those of you in Maryland, now is your chance to get rid of Martin O’Malley. He is a slick talking snake oil salesman who harps about his opponent raising taxes and fees while ignoring that he raised our sales tax 20%. Martin O’Malley is responsible for the largest tax increase in our history. If Robert Ehrlich’s increased fees are tantamount to rasing taxes (a position with which I, in part, agree) and mean he should not be governor then O’Malley’s largest tax increase in history disqualifies him as well.

O’Malley promised to fix the electric rate increase and it went up 75%. That was all on him. He raised taxes in many areas and he has taken a budget surplus and turned it into a deficit.

Barbara Mikulski has got to go. This Senator claims, in her ads, that they (you know, those other people in DC) like to spend your money bailing out the big guys and she thinks it should go to you. She is one of the “they” that votes to send your money to the big guys. She has voted for all the measures that spent your tax dollars on others, contrary to her claims. In one Mikulski ad she claims to be known as a cheapskate. Perhaps that is so but only when it involves her own money. When it is our money, she is quite generous with it.

Mikulski claims that “they” wanted to take away mammograms and other screenings for women but she changed the law. Insurance companies cover those things. It was the negotiations for Obamacare that removed many items and Barb claims she changed the law. No, she wrote the women’s care amendment for Obamacare so she did not change any law. She changed part of a bill. She also wrote portions dealing with birth control in vague terms to avoid objection and cloudy the issue.

Barbara Mikulski is a DC politician and she is a big tax and spend liberal. No matter how she tries to portray herself, that is what she is. The only time we ever see her is around election time. Like all other politicians, she does not listen to us but she expects us to listen to her.

The last race is in the 1st Congressional District. Frank Kratovil has not served the people of his district and he needs to be replaced by someone who holds the same values as the people living here. Andy Harris is a decent, honest conservative who will listen to the people of the District and govern with conservative values. He is a physician and a veteran and he will be a true representative of his constituents. I know Andy and he is a decent man who deserves and needs your vote.

There are plenty of local offices that have been held by Democrats for decades and they need to go as well. They have run this state into the ground. It is time to throw them out and start with a fresh group.

You folks have a chance to do right by the state and you can do so by voting the entrenched Democrats out. While we are at it, we have a chance to get rid of Steny Hoyer. Charles Lollar is a great conservative with lots of business and military experience. If you are in his district, give him a chance.

America, and particularly the people in my state of Maryland, today is the day you get to speak. Let them know that you do not appreciate them not listening to you. Let them know that you are their bosses and that they did not listen to you so you have no intention to listening to their pleas for reelection.

America, it is time to be heard.

Get out and vote.

UPDATE: Be sure to comment and tell us who you want to see elected, who you want to see defeated and why…

Never surrender, never submit.

Copyright © 2012 Mr. Ogre. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/crimes-and-election-coverage/.

So, a few notes on the day before elections in the US:

First, to follow up on Margarine Crimes, a couple other things that are crimes in the “Land of the Free” today:

Riding a horse is the equivalent of carrying a loaded gun. I am amazed that people can actually defend these things, but they still do.

Wearing a mask is a crime. If you read the article, the guy is actually charged with “wearing a mask or hood in public.” Incredible. Of course, in each of these instances, no one was harmed and no one was in danger — but that doesn’t matter to anyone. How sad.

Finally, a bit of election coverage. Across the nation, including on Drudge and other national news outlets, the news is being reported about the CBS affiliate in Anchorage that was caught preparing to make up false stories about Joe Miller and report them as news. So, what are the main newspapers reporting on in Alaska, where the election is being held?

Juneau Empire: Judges are on the ballot and Juneau’s legislators are cool.

Anchorage Daily News: US Senate Candidates are campaigning and Alaska state legislators are confused.

Fairbanks Daily News-Miner: National Republicans may be bailing on Joe Miller and TV station’s goof causes splash.

So, two of the state’s biggest cities’ newspapers are completely ignoring the fact that a news organization is preparing to lie to defeat a candidate they disagree with. The third is laughing at the idea that the news organization got caught preparing to lie.

And people wonder why the news organizations are trusted so little today.

If you enjoy what you read consider signing up to receive email notification of new posts. The CBO said as much when it was finally able to score the entire bill and not just the cherry-picked items Congress sent it to guarantee passage. There is also no doubt that the system will ration care. People will be denied care because they are either too old or too sick (or both) because there will not be enough money or services to provide for everyone.

The people who will decide this have been referred to as death panels. No matter what they are called, care will be rationed.

This means that more people will die as a result of the Obamacare law. More dead people means that more taxpayer dollars will be wasted.

A new report shows that the government, the same entity that wants us to believe it runs things efficiently and will do so with Obamacare, has spent 1 billion dollars on dead people. This includes a lot of money that was sent to dead people as part of the Social Security payoff this past year. In other words, this is recent and it is a great example of why government is not responsible with our money.

This does not include the billions of dollars spent on waste and fraud in Social Security and Medicare. Dead patients get treatement from dead doctors who perform it.

Government is simply too big and too cumbersome to run anything with any kind of oversight.

This means that Obamacare will cost us a lot of money. The people who die because we have no money for their health care will get checks after they are dead.

But Democrats have to do something to keep their voter rolls up and the dead vote Democrat.

Cave Canem!
Never surrender, never submit.
Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/hearsay-pelosi-wont-seek-new-term-as-speaker/.

Desperate to win, Democrats are pulling out all the stops. Some are running away from the Obama/Reid/Pelosi agenda and are now touting conservative principles where they claim to have voted more with the GOP than with party. This, of course, is nothing more than a method to gain votes and get reelected. They will go right back to being led around by their noses if they win.

Some are claiming that they would not support Nancy Pelosi for Speaker if they are reelected and one, Mike McIntyre (D-N.C.), is claiming that he heard Pelosi will not even run again to be Speaker.

This is nothing more than a tactic to get voters to reelect him based on his “opposition” to Pelosi and his supposed conservative credentials.

For one thing, Nancy Pelosi craves power and there is no way she would not run again for Speaker should her party keep the majority. If she were to not seek the position again it would be seen as a victory for the Republicans so there is no way that she would not seek to hold that office. That and she is power hungry.

This is all based on some pipe dream that Democrats will hold control of the House.

In other words, McIntyre is not going to have to worry about not voting for Pelosi. He won’t be there to vote and she will be part of the minority so Speaker is out of the question anyway…
