Judging From Their History Dems Should Be OK With A Delay

A lot has been going on since Justice Scalia died over the weekend. The liberal left celebrated his death and mocked his life and the job he did in the Supreme Court. They mocked him because he had the audacity to actually use the Constitution when he interpreted law instead of using his feelings or his partisan beliefs like say, Ginsberg, Kagan or Sotomayor.

Barack Obama and Democrats in the Senate, smelling blood in the water and not wanting to let an opportunity to give the court a liberal majority, made demands of Republicans who, thank goodness, hold the majority in the Senate. These Democrats demanded that the Republicans make sure Obama’s nominee gets a shot. They basically want a rubber stamp for whichever left wing socialist America hater Obama nominates.

Republicans, so far, are having none of it. They want to wait and let the next president make the nomination.

The Democrats have a point (besides the ones on top their heads) in that the president, under the Constitution, has a duty to nominate. We can ignore for a moment that Obama has never abided by his duty under the Constitution and focus on what they want. They want Obama to nominate and that nomination not to be blocked.

They seem to forget that the Constitution also says that the president nominates with the advice and consent of the Senate. So the Senate has to consent and they do this by voting yes or no. Obama can put forth all the nominations he wants but there is nothing wrong with voting no on each and every one of them.

Democrats would have you believe this is out of the ordinary and unprecedented but our history shows it has been done before and that one vacancy existed for over two years because the Senate and president did not see eye to eye.

Now that was a long time ago but blocking nominees has happened in the recent past. Hell, Chuck Schumer, a guy who looks like his neck threw up, vowed that any vacancy in the Court that happened during George W Bush’s lame duck term would be blocked. Schumer made this declaration 19 months before Bush’s term would end. No vacancy came up but it was already out there that if one did no nominee would be considered.

In 1960 Democrats passed a resolution that presidents could not nominate during an election year.

Many Democrats now screaming for the vacancy to be filled have records of voting against nominations and of holding up the process. So the reality is there is no reason for Republicans to give in and allow Obama to get another liberal on the SCOTUS.

If they do not like it well that’s just too bad.

But if he does nominate anyone I think it would be reasonable to expose their entire life, make a mockery of their judicial experience, chastise them for their views, pick apart their judicial opinions, and generally make their life and the lives of their family miserable until they decide to withdraw from consideration.

Oh how horrible!

Two words, Robert Bork.

Now liberals, please quit your whining and sit back and accept that which you were so willing to do when you were in the majority.

And Republicans, do not give in to these morons. Mitch McConnell, you have a history of caving to Obama. If you do then you can rest assured you will lose control of the Senate and Trump will likely be the nominee for the Republican Party. Screw us over and we will strike back.

Do not let Barack Obama get another young liberal partisan hack on the court so the rest of us will be forced to live with their anti-American decisions for decades to come.

It is time to sack up and fight.

Shorter Dems: Save Us From Ourselves

The Democrats forced Obamacare on all of us. They wanted to take over the health care in this nation in an effort to further control people so they pushed through a massive bill that no one read. Pelosi told everyone they had to pass it to see what was in it (it should work the other way around for those who are as brain dead as she).

So this huge bill was pushed through and Obama signed it into law. Then the problems started. It was challenged in court and in an amazing act of judicial malfeasance, John Roberts cast the deciding vote to uphold the law after he rewrote it (figuratively) from the bench.

After that more and more of the bad things popped up and began to affect people who supported it. Obama’s lies were exposed and people were getting screwed. Things were so bad Democrats lost control of the House and then the Senate.

There is currently a challenge to the law that could unravel it. Democrats tried to coerce states into setting up exchanges by offering subsidies only to those in states with exchanges. They discussed this carrot and stick tactic over and over when pushing the law. A number of states did not set up the exchanges so the feds did (which they can under the law). The feds then allowed the subsidies which it is not allowed to do under the law. The words are clear in the law (maybe they should have read it first) because this is what they intended. Now they claim it was never intended to be that way.

If the law is upheld as written, in other words if John Roberts (or any others for that matter) does not again legislate from the bench, then it could unravel the entire thing.

This is all going on as other parts of the law are beginning to take place. There were items that phased in and now that they are getting close to starting it is getting clear they are not good. One such thing involves putting companies with 51-100 employees in the more costly small group market. This will cause all kinds of trouble for these companies. It is set to take effect in 2016.

A number of Senate Democrats have spoken up and are begging Obama to delay this. They are not worried that it will harm business though they claim this is their concern. They claim they want the market to gradually adapt before this takes place (it has been in effect for 5 years now). In other words, they want to delay the screwing the companies will get so they can get accustomed to the violation.

Here is the real deal; the Democrats are worried that this will cause turmoil and they will face backlash from the voters. They are concerned that the problems will be used to batter their party during the next presidential election. Since only Democrats voted for it only Democrats are responsible for it. They know they could lose the White House and more seats in Congress.

This is ALL they are concerned with. This is the only reason Obama delayed the things he did, so they would be after his last election.

We need to get rid of the entire law. Democrats will not do that.

But we should not let them continue to delay to save their sorry butts. They loved it so much when they forced it on us it is time to make them suffer through the problems they caused.

It will be painful for everyone but pain is often the best teacher and there are a lot of liberals who need a lesson.

Obama To Delay Naming AG Nominee

Barack Obama will delay naming Eric Holder’s replacement until, surprise, after the midterm elections. Obama does not want the selection to be used as political fodder forcing Senate Democrats to indicate whether or not they support the nominee.

The Democrats are expected to lose Senate seats if not outright control of the Senate in the midterm elections. If they lose control Obama will push to have his nominee confirmed during the lame duck session while he still has a majority and while Harry Reid can change the rules to get what he wants.

I can imagine the entire thing playing out, assuming the Republicans win control. Obama, who is delaying naming the nominee (there are claims he has not picked anyone yet) will present the nominee during the lame duck session and urge Senators to rapidly confirm the person. He will say that any delay is unacceptable and based on partisan politics. He will tell us how important the Attorney General position is and how we cannot wait to have a person in the office.

He will tell us all how important it is to act quickly even though he has no problem with NOT acting quickly at this particular time.

To Obama it is not prudent to act quickly when an election is in the balance but it will be real important to act quickly if he is faced with losing the majority.

Now serfs, we can wait until after the election but we cannot wait until the new Senate is seated.

That would be unacceptable because…

Well because it is for the children.

Duck And Cover Democrats

The Democrats shut down the government last October, of this there can be no doubt. I know they blamed Republicans who asked for a number of concessions including repealing Obamacare. Of course Democrats would not do that so Republicans asked for a delay in the Individual Mandate so that the people being affected by the law would have a reprieve.

Absolutely not was the response from Democrats.

The government shut down and there was uproar as Barack Obama worked to make it seem as uncomfortable as possible. We can’t have this government shut down because people depend on it (which is a problem as far as I am concerned).

[note]Interestingly, no one in DC screams that the people need the government and that it can’t shut down when it closes every time there is a bad snowstorm. The government has shut down a number of times this winter due to bad weather and no one in government had an issue with it.[/note]

But the very reprieve that Republicans were asking for, a delay in the Individual Mandate, has been granted by Imperial Leader Obama. He caught hell for all the cancellations and his lie about keeping your plan if you liked it was exposed. So Obama, who could have avoided the shutdown and the embarrassment of his lie being exposed in October, extended the Mandate. He pushed it a year down the road. He could have done that in October and the government would not have shut down so he is responsible despite what the left tells you.

But a problem happened when he extended the deadline a year. The extension could result in a nasty election day for Democrats because insurance companies are required by law to send out cancellation notices 90 days before the cancellation.

Those notices will go out about five weeks before the November midterm election and a lot of anger will be pointed at Democrats.

You see, no Republican voted for Obamacare. The Democrats used a lot of back room deals to get enough of their own to vote for it so they own it. It has been a disaster and many of them will be fighting for their political lives. The last thing they need is the cancellations that would have come out earlier this past year to start coming out just before the election. This will remind all voters that Obamacare took away their plans and give them plenty of reason to vote them out of office.

Barack Obama to the rescue.

Obama is set to announce another extension of the mandate and the sole reason is so that the cancellation notices do not come out prior to the election. It is already unconstitutional for him to change the law as he has done over 20 times but now he is playing political games with this change. There is no reason for the extension to be granted except to provide cover for vulnerable Democrats.

The constant changes from Obama have caused problems for insurance companies because they need a stable environment in order to assess the cost of coverage and to adjust premiums. In the ever changing Obamacare world they are unable to run their businesses. Here is what they should do. The law requires them to send the notices no later than 90 days but as far as I am aware there is no restriction on sending them out earlier.

These companies should send out the notices so that they reach people prior to the election. People need to know what lies ahead before they vote.

Of course, people need to be responsible too. They know that millions were dumped from their plans and they know that Obama lied when he told them they could keep them if they liked them so they need to understand that the extension only delays the inevitable.

Regardless of when the extension ends they will still lose their plans. They need to understand that Obama is only doing what he is doing to help Democrats avoid defeat in November.

Remember, these politicians only care about you when they want your vote. Once you put them back in office they will screw you every way they can. Dump them in November and get some fresh blood in there to shake things up and ensure your interests are taken into consideration.

It is amazing to me Obama has the nerve to claim that Putin is violating International Law when Obama is busy breaking American law.

Send him a message and cripple him in the next election. We might not be able to get anything passed because he has a veto pen BUT we can make him a true lame duck who cannot force his agenda on an unwilling population.
