Death Panels Return Under Cover Of Christmas

When the Democrats were ramming Obamacare through they hit a roadblock in the name of Sarah Palin who rightly pointed out that the end of life counseling mandated in the original plan amounted to death panels where the most vulnerable among us would be swayed to forgo needed medical care under pressure from health care providers receiving incentives to provide such counseling. The counseling would have been accomplished every five years and would pressure those in poor health to die peacefully.

Ousted Democrat Congressman Alan Grayson of Florida once called the Republican health care plan; if you get sick, die quickly.

The reality is that the Democrat plan was designed to accomplish this task.

But public uproar forced the Democrats to remove the end of life provision from Obamacare and then the bill was rammed through. Unfortunately, the law allows the people in charge to make rules governing Obamacare and Medicare chief Dr. Donald Berwick (Dr. Death) has released a new rule implementing the end of life or death panel counseling. The new rule will require end of life counseling every year instead of the five in the original bill.

The new rule was released on Christmas Day and was reported by The New York Times.

While America was busy celebrating the birth of Christ Dr. Death released rules that would compel health care providers to coerce the weakest among us into submitting to death. This, as Palin once noted, amounts to death panels.

The Democrats are happy this took place because they wanted it from the beginning but were taken aback by the uproar. So, as with many things Democrats do, they sneaked it in in a covert fashion. As the Times article points out:

Congressional supporters of the new policy, though pleased, have kept quiet. They fear provoking another furor like the one in 2009 when Republicans seized on the idea of end-of-life counseling to argue that the Democrats’ bill would allow the government to cut off care for the critically ill. The American Spectator

What they are saying here, and as the Spectator points out (the Times link requires registration), Sarah Palin was absolutely correct. They smeared her for making such claims and then removed the portion of the legislation to which she referred and then they put it back in.

Palin is often slammed as not being very bright and of a lesser class than those elites who supposedly lead us but Sarah Palin is an astute observer who was absolutely correct. She pointed out what the Obama Regime was doing and forced them to remove the death panel provision. Now that they have secreted it back, and with more stringent requirements, (coupled with the desire to keep things quiet) Sarah Palin has been vindicated.

The Obama regime specifically, and the Democrats in general, have no concern for human life. The so called party of the people cherish abortions and now look to compel the weakest among us to take decisions that are not in their best interest.

I think that the regime will see a lot of John Q types if people are forced to take decisions contrary to their best interests.

I imagine doctors might feel pressure to force people into end of life decisions especially since they will be paid to do so (and required to have the discussion). I wonder how many doctors will happily comply if their safety is placed in jeopardy by people not too happy with the whole death panel scheme?

I don’t think anyone argues that patients and their physicians should not engage in these discussions when warranted. But compelling physicians to have them and paying them to do so in an effort to force people to skip medical care is evil and will cause an upheaval that will not be pretty.

All in the name of saving a dollar. Keep in mind, those making the rules will get all the care they want no matter what.

Obamacare and the people running it are pure evil.

And we see this daily as items in Obamacare begin to infect our health care system.

No Doctor? Thank Obamacare

A year after Obamacare kicks in there will be about a 50% greater shortage of doctors than originally estimated. If anyone thinks that this will not mean rationed care then a lesson in supply and demand is needed. Fewer doctors will mean that fewer people get seen and some folks will be triaged away from health care. The elderly, the terminally ill, and those with costly and long term problems will be put on the back burner and probably never seen. If they do get seen it will be much too late for them to get meaningful care.

By 2015 — one year after the majority of the provisions in the Affordable Care Act (ACA) will have taken effect — the nation will be short 63,000 physicians, a figure that includes both primary care doctors and specialists. Previous estimates put the shortage at 39,600.

By 2020, there will be 45,000 too few primary care physicians, and 46,000 too few specialists, according to the AAMC. MedPage Today

This should not be surprising since those opposed to the health care takeover warned of just such problems. We warned of increasing rates, higher premiums and long term shortages of medical personnel. Our warnings were ignored as Obama and his sock puppets promised that we could keep our doctors, we could keep our health plans and that his plan would save money and result in lower premiums.

Of course, once the light was shed on this monstrosity, Obama backtracked and said that he never promised it would be free. He certainly gave many people the impression that they would pay nothing and that only a small number of people would have to pay more (those evil rich people). You can’t claim to save money while providing care to more people without implying that costs would go down and some would not pay.

Death Panels? Get real. Sarah Palin and others who mentioned this were pointed out as fear mongers who did not know what they were talking about. The bill provides for review panels and a shortage of doctors guarantees that people will not receive the care they want or need (those two are not always the same).

In addition, the whole ruse is beginning to unfold. Obama and his ilk made the health care bill so cumbersome and expensive that companies would find it cheaper to drop people and pay the fines. This would FORCE people into government health care. Obama’s goal all along was single payer and he worked up a con game to get everyone into single payer. He did it with regulations that would force companies to take hard decisions that eventually lead to dropping care.

McDonald’s announced that it might have to drop health care for 30,000 hourly employees because of the administrative burdens of the health care takeover. The company denies this and supporters of the takeover claim it is trumped up but the memo from McDonald’s makes it clear that unless it receives an exemption it might have to drop the coverage. I can’t blame them for backtracking. I am sure the company never intended for the memo to be made public and it cannot afford to have 30,000 upset employees. The best thing to do, from their point of view, was to downplay the memo.

Many other companies took huge hits because of the health care takeover and people are seeing their premiums rise.

This entire health care issue has been a mess and we will continue to find more problems as it gets implemented. Even though the citizenry was warned by people who actually know the health care system and even though the majority of Americans opposed it, the Democrats rammed it down our throats.

Nancy Pelosi said we would have to pass the bill to see what is in it. Now that it has passed and we are getting to see what it contains, we are not pleased and it is obvious that Americans will get screwed.

It is November or never folks.

Keep the OPTEMPO up and let’s boot these miserable pukes out of office once and for all.

Round Up Of The Liberal’s Madness

The elites want you to bathe in the oil while they eat lobster in Maine

Michelle Obama told people that there were plenty of clean beaches in the Gulf and that people should vacation there. She told them to take their kids with them, you know to enjoy the place.

But that did not apply to Michelle and her husband. Perhaps you have heard of him. He is the Socialist who is currently in charge of the country and who spends most of his time playing one sport or another or being on vacation. But his vacation is not in the Gulf, no, no, no. The Obamas are in Maine, the place Bill Clinton liked to vacation. They are hobnobbing, interrupting the real Americans who are trying to enjoy a vacation, and ignoring the Gulf, the very place Michelle told people to visit.

The Gulf, where one could potentially be contaminated, is for the peons among us and not the elitists who spend their time in places like Martha’s Vineyard.

I bet if it was called the GOLF Coast he would vacation there…
ABC News Jake Tapper

Elena Kagan is another Socialist who hates the military

She hates the military. There is no other way to look at her ban of recruiters on the Harvard Campus because of the policy against open homosexuality. One might think that she took a principled stance but she allowed the Saudi recruiters on campus to discuss and promote Sharia Law. Sharia Law calls for murdering homosexuals. Kagan is not so much in favor of homosexual rights as she is against the military. Here is the transcript from this video:

As Dean of Harvard Law School, Elena Kagan banned military recruiters from campus because US law said they couldn’t enlist homosexuals. Well, she invited the Saudi’s “recruiters” to promote their legal code — Shariah — which calls for homosexuals to be murdered and women to be treated like animals. If Kagan tolerates promoting the injustice of Shariah law on the campus of Harvard, what kind of injustice will she tolerate in America during a lifetime on the Supreme Court?

Big Dog Salute to American Power

How is that universal health care in Massachusetts working out?

The Unites States contains 50 pitri dishes that allow for things to take place and be worked out. The states can try things and if they are good the country can adopt them and if they are bad the country can reject them. This is good in theory but the federal government and the individual states, by and large, continue doing the things that cause problems.

In any event, Massachusetts enacted a health care law much like the one the federal government imposed on the rest of us earlier this year. Despite the failings of the MA health care plan, the federal government pushed forward (against a majority of people in the country) and forced their plan on us. Opponents of the law warned that it will lead to rationing, it will lead to bureaucrats making medical decisions, will force businesses to drop their employees (dump them on the taxpayer), and will cost a lot more than government predictions. The model was there in MA but it was ignored because the law is not about health and it is not about care.

It is about control.

Here is what is now taking place in Massachusetts.

The relentlessly rising cost of health insurance is prompting some small Massachusetts companies to drop coverage for their workers and encourage them to sign up for state-subsidized care instead, a trend that, some analysts say, could eventually weigh heavily on the state’s already-stressed budget. boston.com

The Massachusetts law was supposed to reduce costs. It was supposed to make health care more affordable. It was supposed to allow people to keep their current insurance. It was designed to make it affordable for employers so they could cover their employees.

Sounds just like what the liberals told us about Obamacare.

And it too will cost more than they said, will lead to rationing, will lead to death panels (denied care that leads to death is a death panel), and will force businesses to drop employees and dump them on the government plan. Just ask Massachusetts how it all worked out…

Everyone on the government plan is what the progressives have wanted all along but this is not what we were told.

Looks like it is November or never.

Never surrender, never submit.

Health Care Rationing In The US?

When the Democrats rammed the health care takeover down the collective throats of Americans we were promised that the program would bend the cost curve, cost less and save money. When people like Sarah Palin raised the issue of “death panels” we were told she was out of her mind and that the government would not turn people away or deny care to those who were in bad health.

The health care takeover will not be fully instituted until 2014 (after Obama runs for a second term) but some parts of it have taken effect or will shortly. One of those programs is for the high risk patients. It was fronted $5 BILLION and the program is designed to provide health care to the high risk folks, those who cannot get insurance and who have risky health conditions. It looks like the government will not be able to cover everyone and is considering denying health care to people who need it. It also looks like benefits will be reduced:

The Obama administration has not ruled out turning sick people away from an insurance program created by the new healthcare law to provide coverage for the uninsured.

Critics of the $5 billion high-risk pool program insist it will run out of money before Jan. 1, 2014. That’s when the program sunsets and health plans can no longer discriminate against people with pre-existing conditions.

Administration officials insist they can make changes to the program to ensure it lasts until 2014, and that it may not have to turn away sick people. Officials said the administration could also consider reducing benefits under the program, or redistributing funds between state pools. But they acknowledged turning some people away was also a possibility. [emphasis mine] The Hill

Denying health care to high risk patients amounts to a death panel. Government bureaucrats will determine who will best benefit from the available funds and those who are not deemed viable will be turned away. This sounds like what Palin described as “death panels.”

Additionally, the care could be rationed as a method of providing some care to more people.

While it is early and the regime could procure more funding we are left with a snapshot of what health care will look like once the government program goes into effect.

We were assured that this would be paid for and that it would save money. We are already seeing that this is not the case. The relatively small high risk program is in financial trouble so what makes anyone think the entire program will do any better?

We were also assured that care would not be rationed and that a bureaucrat would not get between us and our doctors. Looks like this small program has put this lie to bed. People will have care rationed or denied and this will be decided by government bureaucrats. If they have not ruled it out then it means they are at least considering that which they said they would not do.

The small program portends badly for the entire program where millions more people will be affected and where money will not be available.

The government will certainly ration or deny care and will have severe cost overruns.

This is all contrary to the line of BS that we were sold when they decided to ram it through against the will of the public.

Those of you who support this regime and think they are wonderful can take solace in knowing that they will not be denied care and will do quite well.

You didn’t think that the rulers would be hampered by such problems, now did you?

They knew this when they sold it to us because they only provided the CBO with what was needed to get the numbers to sell it. It is expected to cost at least $2.5 TRILLION. The CBO expects it to cost more than advertised now that it has been able to look at the entire package.

They lied to us and now the early warning signs are present in the relatively small high risk program. There will be “death panels” and there will be rationing and denial of care.

This has been the case from the start and we all knew it.

So did those who decided that we should have it.

Vote everyone of them out of office in November.

Never surrender, never submit.

Elderly Get Practice For Obamacare Death Panels

The idea of death panels made the liberals laugh at Sarah Palin. She suggested that the Obamacare plan would create an environment where care would be rationed and the elderly would not get the care they needed. She likened those who would make those decisions to death panels and the left ridiculed her for it.

They ridiculed even though there is no doubt that there will be rationing of care. Forcing people to have health insurance and then adding millions more people to the mix will mean that care must be rationed for two very simple reasons.

The first is that there will not be enough health care providers.

The second is that the plan will cost so much money (two or three times what they say) so care will be rationed based on cost and the number of years a person has on this Earth. Young people work (when Obama has not caused unemployment to rise) and they pay taxes. The elderly consume about two-thirds of the health care dollars spent in this country so they will be allowed to die off for the sake of efficiency and cost savings. Obama did tell them they might be better off just taking a pill.

The elderly are already finding out what rationing will be like and they are finding out because of the Swine Flu vaccine. The elderly cannot get it. They are being denied the vaccine because of shortages. There are plenty of elderly that have underlying diseases who should be vaccinated but the vaccines are being rationed to children, young people with underlying medical conditions, pregnant women and health care workers. The elderly, left out in the cold:

But as grateful as he is, the 74-year-old Anter admits one thing will be bugging him during the holidays.

“The truth is,” the retired paper sales executive said last week, “when I think about not being able to get a swine flu shot, I get real pissed off.”

Two months after H1N1 flu vaccine was first distributed to public health districts around the country, people 65 and older with serious medical conditions still can’t get vaccinated.

Anter’s doctors at Stanford University Hospital, where he received his transplant, tell him he has a compromised immune system and “the H1N1 flu could do me in.”

He takes at least nine prescription medications daily to stay alive.

“But when I try to get a shot, I’m told I’m too old ” he said as he sat in the study of his Peccole Ranch home.

“I feel that they see me and other older people as garbage and are just waiting for the trucks to come pick us up,” Anter said.

“I served my country. I enlisted during the Korean War. You don’t treat people this way just because they’re older.” Review Journal

I am well aware of the statistics of who is more likely to get the Swine Flu and the young appear to be more susceptible than the elderly but this assumes the elderly who are in relatively good health. Those with serious medical conditions, especially conditions that compromise their immune systems, should be immunized.

They should be in the group of people who get the vaccine first but since they are old they are not getting it.

What other possible reason could there be for denying the vaccination to old people with compromised immune systems?

The sad reality is that they are not as productive and do not have as many years left as the younger folks so they are not getting the vaccine. Sure, those in good health have no reason to worry but the elderly with medical conditions that put them more at risk should be vaccinated.

This is a foreshadowing of the death panel. Care is being rationed because the government could not fulfill its promise to have a vaccination for every citizen who wants one. Since the vaccine must be rationed the elderly with health problems are the ones who are denied.

The senior citizens in this country are getting a preview of Obamacare. You folks better get busy and let the people who represent you in Congress know to kill this bill.

What will happen when they decide that the elderly should not have costly blood pressure medication, clot busting drugs for myocardial infarction, antineoplastic drugs for cancer treatment, or joint replacement surgery all because of age?

Well, at least Obama will give you a pill instead.

It will probably be a cyanide capsule.
